Yes, the country's common sense Freedom Party is going to be smeared as "far-right" all the way up to the second round of voting, and don't be surprised to see leftist parties form alliances with so-called centrist "Christian Democrats" to block the election of Norbert Hofer. That's basically what happened in the recent French regional elections, with leftist and so-called center-right parties working together to stop Marine Le Pen's National Front.

A disturbing report claims that when Pope Francis found out that two of the 12 Muslim refugees he recently planned to take back to the Vatican turned out to be Christians, he "dropped them like a hot potato."

Angry Feminists GO NUTS Over Cameraman At “Whiteness” Event

 

“Whiteness & Feminism” was the title of the event, one of the many sessions that were part of Portland Community College’s “whiteness history month”. This particular event featured Portland State University instructors Roberta Hunte and Sally Eck.

 The “whiteness” presentations are considered public events, take place in public college rooms, and are open to the public, often times joined by classes. In this instance, a “women’s studies” class taught by Kathy Casto was taking part in this event.

After introductions, Eck encourages participants to surround and block the cameraman, in an effort to intimidate him and get him to stop filming. The angry feminists go bonkers, blocking the view with papers and body fat. PCC “director of student life” Josh Peters McBride indicates that this is acceptable behavior by students.

National sheriffs’ group, opposed to federal laws on guns and taxes, calls for defiance

Local police chiefs and sheriffs typically swear to enforce the laws of their state. But a group called the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association is intent on strictly enforcing their view of the U.S. Constitution and, according to a long new piece by the Center for Public Integrity, “its ambition is to encourage law enforcement officers to defy laws they decide themselves are illegal.” In essence, they are troubled by the overreach of the federal government in matters concerning guns, taxes and land management, and founder Richard Mack has described the federals as “the greatest threat we face today,” and his association as “the army to set our nation free.”

Anti-Gun Professor Won’t Pen Recommendation for Pro-Gun Student

 

There has always been a question of whether academia fosters an institutional hostility toward gun ownership. Well, if this anonymous post written by a professor is any indication, the answer is a resounding, “Yes, it sure does!”

Myrtle Lynn Payne, the pseudonym of the professor who wrote the article titled, “Guns, Pancakes, and Ambiguity” for the “The Chronicle of Higher Education,” makes it pretty clear that she is blinded by her anti-gun ideology when she acknowledges that she doesn’t want to give one of her students a recommendation because the young woman is an apparent firearms enthusiast.
Early on in the article, professor Payne describes her student, “Sarah.”

“Sarah” was a very nice young woman who turned up in one of my classes a year or so ago. Her academic abilities were not strong but she had great energy and was a class leader. Definitely a process, and not a content, type of gal. I did take special notice of her on the first day during a sharing activity we typically do at the beginning of my science lecture courses. Sarah shared that the most notable experience of her winter break was a visit to a gun range where she had fired an AK-47. I gave the usual “very good, moving on” response but was thinking, “Whoa, that’s disturbing.”

Apparently, exercising one’s constitutional right to keep and bear arms is disturbing. Who knew? I wonder if she thinks exercising other constitutional rights is also disturbing, e.g., attending a prayer breakfast or a public demonstration? My guess is the professor wouldn’t have an issue with those activities.

When I was twelve, we were evicted from our house in Florida, a consequence either of Reaganomics or our failure to pay rent for three months, depending on whose story you wanted to believe. We faced a long, hungry drive back to North Carolina. A neighbor, also from our home state, called me over and shoved a hundred-dollar bill into my hand. She told me not to tell anyone until we were too far down the highway to turn around. “People from North Carolina have to stick together,” she said.

I’m tempted to say I have a complicated relationship with my Southern heritage, but in truth I suppose it’s fairly straightforward. The South and I claim each other as kin because we have no choice in the matter. This in turn makes me kin, of sorts, to people I’ve never met. I don’t suppose that’s a particularly Southern mentality, but I don’t think it’s a universal quality either. I’m sure Texans have helped Texans, for example, the way my neighbor lady helped us. Perhaps people from New Jersey have been known to do the same, though I haven’t heard about it.

Sen. Jeff Sessions: ‘Sentencing Reform’ Bill Rewrite Will Release Even More Illegal Alien Drug Traffickers

A new version of a bipartisan sentencing reform bill is worse than the original version and will release many dangerous criminals back into American streets, says Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL).

“The revised bill still shortens mandatory minimums for repeat drug traffickers, including those who carried a gun, and would allow for early release of those currently in federal prison,” Sessions said in a statement that denounces the bill. 

“Moreover, this proposal would provide for leniency for illegal alien drug traffickers. The criminal aliens who were responsible for the 2015 killing of Kate Steinle and the 2014 murders of California Detective Michael Davis, Jr. and Deputy Sheriff Danny Oliver had been earlier convicted for the same class of federal drug crimes that some in Congress now seek to roll back through this legislation,” he added.
