NC: Bad karma: Duke lacrosse accuser gets 14 years for murder

 duke23n-5-web
 Awwwwww.....

In what could be seen as a severe case of very bad karma, the North Carolina stripper who falsely accused a group of Duke lacrosse players of rape in 2006 is headed to prison after being convicted for stabbing her boyfriend to death. Sometimes stories just slip under the national radar screen, but I believe in this case, it’s intentional

NC: COUNTY TO VOTE ON TOTAL GUN BAN

While We’re Out Christmas Shopping

Early next week, as the rest of us recover from our turkey-induced comas, see off our visiting relatives and munch on Thanksgiving leftovers, some Alamance County Commissioners are planning an activity that does not conjure an image of so much Americana. Unfortunately, it appears that a few of the commissioners (Manning, Massey & Smith) are still scheming to sneak an anti-gun ordinance through while their constituents are distracted by holiday travel and Christmas shopping. This is certainly not in the spirit of the holidays.

Last week, GRNC informed its supporters that the Alamance County Commissioners were considering an ordinance to enact a total gun ban in county buildings by banning open carry (concealed carry is already banned).  Unfortunately, after hearing from gun owners, rather than doing the right thing, some of the commissioners apparently continue to seriously consider a gun ban, and they are planning a vote on such an ordinance this Monday morning.

Give Thanks by Standing Up for Your Rights

There is no time more appropriate than Thanksgiving to reflect on the fact that we live in a place where our Natural rights are
recognized and protected. What better way to give thanks for being blessed in this way than to stand up for those rights? Please contact the County Commissioners and let them know that you will not tolerate an infringement on the gun rights of every citizen in Alamance County just because of the prejudices of a few.

Below you will find suggested text for an e-mail that you can send to the County Commissioners who are believed to still be supporting the gun ban. Use the copy-and-paste e-mail list provided to send them this critical message. Also, please attend the County Commission meeting this Monday morning. Details for the meeting are below as well.

If there was ever a time to send an e-mail, spread the word, attend a county meeting, and to not count on the “other guy” to stand up for your rights, this is it.

“This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the pope.”

Radio giant Rush Limbaugh is scorching the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for criticizing unfettered capitalism........

“You know the pope, Pope Francis has issued an official papal proclamation, and it’s sad,” Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday. “It’s actually unbelievable. It’s sad because this pope makes it very clear he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth.”

“I’m not Catholic,” Limbaugh added, “but up until this I admired the man.”

In the 84-page document titled “Evangelii Gaudium” which was released Tuesday, Pope Francis called upon politicians to provide “dignified work, education and health care” to all citizens.

Common Core Third Grade Book Presents Messianic View of Obama

Parenting Election Day Books

A Common Core kid’s book teaches 3rd graders that Barack Obama is honest, kind, fair and godlike.
EAG News reported:

On the heels of a controversial children’s book about Barack Obama – which stated “white voters would never vote for a black president” and that “Barack’s former pastor” said “God would damn the United States for mistreating its black citizens” – comes a new lesson that casts America’s 44th president in a messianic light. Literally.

And – surprise – it’s Common Core-aligned.

Minnesota Monster Buck Tagged—By Traffic

 minnesota_maple_grove_buck

It’s the kind of beastly buck that all whitetail hunters dream about. For a hunter from Maple Grove, Minnesota, it’s now a buck that will give him nightmares.'

As reported by law enforcement officer Kyle Larson from Maple Grove, “This 19-pointer was hit by a car.” The incident occurred just 2 nights ago. It’s a fair assumption that the rut is to blame for this tremendous buck’s unfortunate peril. He was likely searching for a hot doe when he wandered into traffic to meet his high-speed fate.

Pennsylvania hunter bags monster 772-pound black bear

pa black bear

Today marked the third day of rifle season for hunters looking to bag a bear this season.
One hunter in Lackawanna County got his this week… a black bear weighing almost 800 pounds.

“I couldn’t believe how big it was. It’s big,” Daniel Beavers of Covington Township said.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission estimates the male black bear weighed 772 pounds.

So far it’s the largest bear taken in Pennsylvania this season, and it was shot near Daleville in Lackawanna County.

“I wasn’t even going to go hunting. First drive of the morning he just came right out to me and I shot him,” Beavers said.

Beavers said the skull of the bear will be measured to see if it breaks a world record.

Avoiding Recall: Colorado's "You Don't Need a Gun to Prevent Rape" Evie Hudak Resigns

After seeing two of her Colorado colleagues recalled over anti-gun votes, Democratic State Senator Evie Hudak, will submit her resignation.
Hudak will hold a news conference Wednesday morning at the Arvada Library.

"By resigning I am protecting these important new laws for the good of Colorado and ensuring that we can continue looking forward," Hudak wrote in her resignation letter in regard to her gun votes, which led to the recall effort.

Proponents of the recall have until early next week to submit about 18,900 valid signatures to the secretary of state's office. If enough signatures are valid, Hudak would be the third Colorado lawmaker to face a recall election this year because of her support for tougher gun laws.

Spies worry over "doomsday" cache stashed by ex-NSA contractor Snowden

British and U.S. intelligence officials say they are worried about a "doomsday" cache of highly classified, heavily encrypted material they believe former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden has stored on a data cloud.

The cache contains documents generated by the NSA and other agencies and includes names of U.S. and allied intelligence personnel, seven current and former U.S. officials and other sources briefed on the matter said.

The data is protected with sophisticated encryption, and multiple passwords are needed to open it, said two of the sources, who like the others spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

The passwords are in the possession of at least three different people and are valid for only a brief time window each day, they said. The identities of persons who might have the passwords are unknown.

Spokespeople for both NSA and the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment.

One source described the cache of still unpublished material as Snowden's "insurance policy" against arrest or physical harm.

'2016': Obama plans to 'take America down': Startling predictions now coming true at breakneck speed

In the 2012 highest-grossing documentary, “2016: Obama’s America,” political commentator Dinesh D’Souza made some startling predictions about the second term of Barack Obama – and now he has released a fresh, eight-minute addition to the film revealing how the president plans to “take America down a notch.”

D’Souza explains, “One of the predictions is that Obama would spend money promiscuously to raise the debt in virtual indifference to the impact of the debt on American citizens. In fact, Obama has been racking up the debt at the rate of $1 trillion a year. The debt has doubled in Obama’s term in office.”

Obama’s plot to “drag the economy down” and redistribute American wealth to the rest of the world – and financially cripple the nation – he explains, “is a transfer of hundreds of billions, in fact trillions of dollars, out of the United States and into other countries.”

U.S. Border Patrol agents attacked by unruly crowd from Mexico

 Border Patrol agents

More than 100 people pelted U.S. Border Patrol agents with rocks and bottles during a rowdy confrontation Sunday afternoon along the U.S.-Mexico border, federal authorities said.
Nobody was seriously injured and it’s not clear whether the crowd was trying to enter the U.S. illegally or hold a demonstration, but the sight of a large crowd surging beyond the border rattled nerves.

Agents said it harked to the days in the 1990s when migrants would run across the border en masse, in so-called banzai runs that would overwhelm agents. As the crowd on Sunday crossed the Tijuana River into California, more than one dozen agents responded to the border fence atop the levee and deployed pepper spray to hold them back, triggering the melee.

Re-post 2011

Sunday in the South
VERBATIM POST
Despite popular American nostalgia that the first Thanksgiving was held by the Pilgrims after the arrival of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock, it actually had its English beginnings along the James River at present-day Berkley Plantation in Charles City County, Virginia.

The year was 1619, twelve years after the establishment of Jamestown, when a group of thirty-eight settlers aboard the ship Margaret arrived after having made a ten-week journey across the Atlantic. Upon their landing, they knelt and prayed on the rich Tidewater soil, with their Captain John Woodlief proclaiming:
“Wee ordaine that the day of our ships arrivall at the place assigned for plantacion in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually keept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.”
As historically recorded, this event was a first English Thanksgiving in the New World.

Thanksgiving is not just an American holiday. It is a Christian holiday.

Beginning on December 4, 1619, Berkeley Plantation (Charles City, VA), celebrated an annual thanksgiving to God on the anniversary of their safe arrival in the New World.

The 1621 Pilgrim Thanksgiving in Massachusetts was a time of thanks giving to God. Governor William Bradford proclaimed the month of November to be dedicated to "Thanksgiving unto the Lord." Bradford wrote in his diary that their voyage and settlement was motivated by "a great hope for advancing the Kingdom of God."

In 1623, after a severe drought that ended at the conclusion of a colony-wide day of prayer and fasting, Bradford proclaimed another Thanksgiving - the Thanksgiving most Americans picture:
In as much as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest of Indian corn, wheat, peas, beans, squashes, and garden vegetable, and has made the forests to abound with game and the sea with fish and clams, and inasmuch as he has protected us from the ravages of the savages, has spared us from pestilence and disease, has granted us freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience; now I, your magistrate, do proclaim that all ye Pilgrims, with your wives and ye little ones, do gather at ye meeting house, on ye hill, between the hours of 9 and 12 in the day time, on Thursday, November ye 29th, of the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and twenty-three, and the third year since ye Pilgrims landed on ye Pilgrim Rock, there to listen to ye pastor and render thanksgiving to ye Almighty God for all His blessings. William Bradford, Ye Governor of Ye Colony.
Thanksgiving is not just an American holiday. It is a Christian holiday.

On December 18, 1777, at the recommendation of Henry Laurens, President of the Continental Congress, the Thirteen Colonies celebrated Thanksgiving to God for their victory at Saratoga.

George Washington declared a National Thanksgiving Day November 26, 1789, to thank God for the New Nation.

Celebrations of “thanksgiving” would become a deeply rooted American tradition, usually brought on by periods of great hardship.

During the American Revolution, the Continental Congress proclaimed days of Thanksgiving every year from 1777 to 1784. Likewise, George Washington issued the first Presidential proclamation of Thanksgiving in 1789, and a few of his successors followed suit. Interestingly, Thanksgiving was not a specific day or even month, and apparently was issued on the whim of whoever was in office. Sporadically between the years 1789 and 1815, days of Thanksgiving were recognized in January, March, April, October, and November. This recognition of Thanksgiving ended in 1815 following the term of President James Madison, and a President would not issue such a proclamation for another forty-six years.
That President was Jefferson Davis, who recognized a day of thanks, humiliation, and prayer for the Confederate States of America for October 31st, 1861. Not to be outdone, President Abraham Lincoln resurrected the forgotten day in the United States as well, and issued a similar proclamation in April of 1862. In 1863, Thanksgiving was made a national holiday, and in 1866, the tradition of recognizing Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November was started by President Andrew Johnson. In 1939, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed legislation making fourth Thursday in November Thanksgiving Day. From that time on, every sitting President has recognized Thanksgiving as a national holiday. But there were thanksgivings before the one in 1619 Virginia.

In 1607 Virginia, the first permanent English settlement was established in Jamestown. As elsewhere, settlers were motivated by profit opportunity and faith. Rev. Robert Hunt led the Englishmen in a Eucharist of thanksgiving and praise - consecrating the colony to God.

On August 9, 1607, English settlers in Maine under Captain George Popham held a harvest feast and prayer meeting on the Kennebec River with the Abnaki Indians.

On September 8, 1565, Pedro Menendez de Aviles, a Spanish explorer, invited the Timucua Indians to dinner in St. Augustine, FL, after a thanksgiving Mass celebrating the explorers' safe arrival.

Thanksgiving is not just an American holiday. It is a Christian holiday.

An earlier Thanksgiving was June 30, 1564, when French Huguenot colonists celebrated near Jacksonville, FL. Prominent Huguenot leader, Admiral Gaspard de Coligny, envisioned America as a refuge for persecuted French Protestants. He sponsored a group of Huguenots to found Fort Caroline on Florida's St. John's River. The settlement struggled, but reinforcements came just in time to save it. On June 30, 1564, the group celebrated their first Thanksgiving Festival. Sadly, the Huguenots were massacred by soldiers who claimed Florida for Spain.

The first recorded Thanksgiving was May 23, 1541, in the Texas panhandle when Spanish explorer Francisco Vasquez de Coronado held a service of thanksgiving for finding food, water, and pasture for his animals.
Thanksgiving is not just an American holiday. It is a Christian holiday.

Gratitude to God is expressed in all U.S. state constitutions. Click here to read the God-honoring preamble of your state . . .

‘First Amendment Rights of Americans at Even Greater Risk’: IRS Issues Rules Curbing Political Activity

IRS Issues New Guidelines Curbing Political Speech
In the shadow of the scandal over the targeting of Tea Party and other conservative groups, the Internal Revenue Service on Tuesday announced new regulations curbing the political activity of tax-exempt groups.

The new restrictions would prohibit such groups from backing candidates, making political pronouncements 60 days before an election and participating in get-out-the-vote drives.

Advocates for conservative organizations litigating against the IRS’ scrutiny say the new rules are an attack on free speech.

“It is never a positive when the government gets involved in regulating political speech,” Cleta Mitchell, a Washington-based attorney, told TheBlaze. “Remember the first five words of the First Amendment: ‘Congress shall make no law.’”

Mitchell is representing True the Vote and other conservative groups suing the IRS over targeting, which the agency has admitted to.

Mitchell said the rules should be more narrow and defined.

“If you think this somehow will stop the IRS from arbitrary enforcement, labor unions spent $4.4 billion between 2006 and 2011 on political activities,” Mitchell said. “Do you think the IRS has done any enforcement about that? I don’t think so.”

After nearly 150 years, a battle for the honor and heritage of Confederate soldiers who can no longer defend themselves, has seen an overwhelming victory! The long standing dispute began by a black domestic terrorist at live Oak cemetery in Selma over a year ago has been settled in favor of  KTK mining and the UDC. The Selma City Council  met on Tuesday Nov. 26, 2013 and voted 5 to 3 to accept the settlement offer put forth by KTK mining in it's entirety.
Among other things, the settlement requires the city of Selma to issue a deed to the UDC givng them title to the property in Live Oak Cemetery known as "Confederate Circle" This property was given to the Ladies Memorial Association ( the forerunner to the UDC) by the Selma City Council way back in the late 1800s, but a deed was never issued. The settlement also calls for the City to re-issue a building permit to KTK mining so that the company can resume work, and complete  an upgrade to Confederate Circle which was heinously disrupted by a group of black domestic terrorists led by the infamous Rose Sanders, over a year ago.
An ugly episode in human stupidity has now been righted, and the honor and integrity of our Confederate ancestors who lie buried in Confederate Circle will be upheld  for future generations of the sons and daughters of the South to pay their respects to. The beautiful life-sized bust of  the great General, Nathan Bedford Forrest will be replaced as a tribute to the last defender of Selma during the late unpleasantness. Please forward to all Confederate lists copiously......God is good!

Bloomberg's Mayors Group Gives Kids Gun Control Placemats for Thanksgiving

Via Angry Mike

Brain-dead.

Outgoing New York mayor Michael Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) wants families to use their time around the Thanksgiving table to discuss gun control with their children.

To that end they are providing a placemat to help get the conversation started.

The placemat, titled "Talking Turkey About Guns," the information on the placemat starts by telling children that Colorado passed a requirement for a background check on every gun sale. It then asks the children if they agree with the law.

â€˜I Won’t Enforce It’: Pro-2nd Amendment Stance Helps New York Sheriff Dominate In Re-Election Bid

Back in May, one county sheriff pledged not to enforce the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act, a bill that came early in the post-Newtown backlash of knee-jerk gun control legislation that swept through the Nation’s social progressivism outposts.

That sheriff, Tim Howard of Erie County, signed on to a lawsuit against the SAFE Act along with other New York sheriffs, and famously told The Buffalo News: “I won’t enforce it.”

Howard was up for re-election this year, and he faced two opponents in the general election in early November. But Howard’s stance on gun control resonated with Erie County voters. Here’s how The Buffalo News revisited Howard’s political arc after he won his third term in office:

Iran: White House Lying About Details of Nuke Deal

Who would have thought in this sterling clean administration.........?

Iranian officials say that the White House is misleading the public about the details of an interim nuclear agreement reached over the weekend in Geneva.

Iran and Western nations including the United States came to an agreement on the framework for an interim deal late Saturday night in Geneva. The deal has yet to be implemented.

The White House released a multi-page fact sheet containing details of the draft agreement shortly after the deal was announced.

However, Iranian foreign ministry official on Tuesday rejected the White House’s version of the deal as “invalid” and accused Washington of releasing a factually inaccurate primer that misleads the American public.
