Protesters in Murrieta block illegal aliens' buses in tense standoff

Via comment by  cavmedic68w on Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about ...

 Immigrant detainees

A crowd of 200 to 300 people in downtown Murrieta surrounded three buses carrying immigrant detainees Tuesday afternoon, causing the buses to turn around before they reached a Border Patrol station in the Riverside County city.

Waving Americans flags and protest signs, the crowd refused to give way when the buses arrived with some 140 detainees from Texas, which has seen a flood of Central American immigrants cross the border in recent weeks without legal permission.

A small number of Murrieta police officers stood between the protesters and the buses but could not keep the crowd from blocking the buses' path.

After the SWAT team broke down the door, they threw a flashbang grenade inside. It landed in my son’s crib. It’s been three weeks since the flashbang exploded next to my sleeping baby, and he’s still covered in burns. There’s still a hole in his chest that exposes his ribs. At least that’s what I’ve been told; I’m afraid to look, says Alecia Phonesavanh in this article, A SWAT team blew a hole in my 2-year-old son (Update), at Salon.

Americans can no longer rely on the courts to mete out justice in the police state being erected around us. A review of the Supreme Court’s rulings over the past 10 years, including some critical ones this term, reveals a startling and steady trend towards pro-police state rulings, says John Whitehead in this article, The U.S. Supreme Court Is Marching in Lockstep with the Police State, at The Rutherford Institute.

Army of occupation - Historians looking back at this period in America’s development will consider it to be profoundly odd that at the exact moment when violent crime hit a 50-year low, the nation’s police departments began to gear up as if the country were expecting invasion... Virginia high schooler threatens suicide, police arrive and kill him

Via Nancy

 Christian Sierra, age 17.

A community is devastated after a suicidal teenager was shot to death by police following a family’s call for help.

Christian Alberto Sierra, 17, was a popular student and athlete at Loudoun Valley High School.  His friends noticed his good-natured demeanor begin to slip into a depression and ultimately toward the unthinkable.  On May 24, 2014, he suffered a breakdown and threatened suicide.

While at a friend’s house on a Saturday afternoon, he began to act erratically and harmed himself with a knife.  The Washington Post describes what happened:

Police arrest parapalegic man for considering himself a pedestrian

Via Nancy

Larry Dodson rides his scooter to the grocery store. (Source: Stephanie Klein-Davis / The Roanoke Times)

A wheelchair-bound man was taken to the ground face-first and handcuffed because he rode his motorized scooter on the shoulder of a road against traffic, the way pedestrians are legally supposed to. Police impounded his scooter and took him to jail.

Paralyzed from the chest down, 52-year-old Larry Wayne Dodson has limited transportation options. He said that he has used his scooter hundreds of times to take himself the short distance to the local grocery store without incident.

The law says that pedestrians are to travel on the shoulder, against traffic. This allows both the pedestrian and the oncoming vehicles to have their eyes on each other. Mr. Dodson rides this way, considering himself the same as a pedestrian.

On April 25, 2014, he was rudely informed by a local law enforcer that he is no pedestrian. Roanoke County Police Officer C.A. Jacobs stopped Mr. Dodson and told him that by the letter of the law, his scooter is considered a vehicle.

The government would prefer that he make make a near-suicidal attempt to cross 5 lanes of traffic with his scooter, than just ride along in the same manner as all other pedestrians.

Today begins a key battle for Donbass

 1.jpg

So, as mentioned, the truce, which, in fact, is no more than a rearrangement of Kiev punitive forces and preparing for a new offensive, completed and began a new large-scale offensive on punitive Donbass.

To date, the total number of Ukrainian group brought to 45,000 people, with more than 400 guns and mortars and nearly 150 tanks.

In fact, all pulled together here today, capable of fighting, and of the joints and the formation of volunteer law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

From the Armed Forces:

25th Separate Airborne Brigade. (place of dislocation: the village. Guards, Dnipropetrovsk region.). Up to 2500 soldiers and officers.

79th separate airmobile brigade (place of deployment: Nikolaev).

95th separate airmobile brigade (place of deployment: Zhitomir);

80th separate airmobile brigade (place of deployment: Lviv, Chernivtsi);

Number of airmobile brigades brought to 1,200. In addition, each team imparted at least one artillery battalion from the 25 and 55 artillery brigades and a tank battalion.

24th mechanized brigade. Yavoriv. Lviv region.

30th mechanized brigade. (Novograd Volyn, Zhytomyr region).

51th mechanized brigade. g.Vladimir-Volyn. Volyn region).

72-th separate mechanized brigade. (White Church, Kyiv region).

93th mechanized brigade.

The number of teams varies from 1,000 to 2,200 people, depending on how one or another managed to deploy a brigade and staff over the past two months. Most of the works teams 1-2 battalion tactical groups, each of which except infantry battalions in APCs and IFVs is up to two battalions of artillery and at least one tank company.

Just under Lugansk transferred the main striking force - 1st Independent Tank Brigade (pgt. Goncharovskiy, Chernihiv region.) Armed with the latest T-64 tanks "Bulat". In the brigade of more than 80 tanks.

And the 8th Regiment separate special purpose. Khmelnitsky. Khmelnitsky region. and 3 special forces regiment of Kirovograd units which are held in Donetsk and Kramators'k airports as well as being explored in the region of Lugansk and Slavic.

128 separate guard mining Infantry Turkestan-Transcarpathian Twice Red Brigade. Mukachevo. Transcarpathian region.

As well as 107 and 15 reactive artillery regiments equipped MLRS "Hurricane," "Twister," "Castle" and 11 Artillery Brigade (Ternopil)

In the deployment phase and in the reserve are: 17th Tank Brigade (Kirovograd)
28th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade (Odessa) and 92nd mechanized Ropshinskoe-Chuguevskaya October Revolution Order of the Red Banner and the brigade. (Kharkov)

Also APU parts here as well deployed battalions of the National Guard (MIA) and volunteer battalions formed on oligarchs money totaling up to 10,000 soldiers and officers These battalions are armed mostly with small arms and mortars. Art of armored personnel carriers and trucks. Upon receipt of these independent tasks battalions reinforced by tanks and artillery brigades from the APU, but more often they are sent as infantry commanders gain tactical combat groups.

Also APU and natsgvardii in the area of operation and operate special units SBU leading active here subversive intelligence work, numbering up to 1,000 fighters.

Still, and the nearest offensive priority is taking control of the whole of the state border between Russia and Ukraine. And in the coming hours unfold here the most intense fighting. We can expect a massive use of tank units, by which punitive command immediately try to capture the main points on the border crossings and isolate Russia from the Donbass.

At the same time Ukrainian command tries to maximize superiority in artillery and cause maximum damage to centers of resistance militia Donbass Slavic and Kramatorsk, as well as possible to prevent the sending of reinforcements between the cities and the supply of arms and ammunition.

Thus there is every reason to start a new offensive in the south of the district Amvrosiivka bypassing Donetsk from south-east to Torez, a key-height Savour Tomb and then to Red Ray in order to cut a vital communication Donbass Debalcevo - Novoshahtinsk. And from the north of the district Novojdar on Happiness and further bypassing Lugansk from west to Jubilee - Lutugino the purpose of dissecting Donbass into two separate parts.

In this offensive Kiev invest all available power from him, not limiting himself to any more restrictions. Will use all available weapons in his arsenal of conventional tube artillery to MLRS "Smerch" and "Hurricane", as well as tanks and tactical missiles. Collected here material reserves enough for about 5-7 days of active hostilities, during which the military command of the operation promises to put Kiev "separatists" decisive military defeat.

In this Poroshenko and his entourage are well aware how much is at stake, and therefore set up military command for maximum brutality and ruthlessness.

In fact, it is offensive to Kiev last chance to try to change the course of the fighting on their side and to achieve a military victory. If nothing offensive end, it becomes quite clear that the military option is not possible to resolve the conflict and this will lead to dire consequences Poroshenko.

The main rate of Kiev - enormous superiority in artillery and heavy equipment, but it is clear that the punitive group experiencing a great shortage of skilled and well-trained infantry, without which it is to clean up and take control of such vast territories impossible. In addition, the actions of the troops seriously complicated by the lack of air support. At the same time a clear deficit in Kiev information about the enemy, seriously unnerving command groups and forces him to act cautiously.

In fact, today begins a key battle for Donbass ...

VA Attempts to Book Appointment With Terminally IIl Veteran, Two Years Too Late

 http://mariomurilloministries.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/obama-and-va-copy.jpg

The unfolding VA scandal has not received the attention it merits and deserves. The crisis at the border and recent Supreme Court rulings have pushed these horror stories to the backburner. But they warrant additional and increased attention.

In case you missed it, retiring Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) published a report last week explaining in great detail the problems plaguing the VA Health Care System. He summed up his findings thusly: “Over the past decade, more than 1,000 veterans may have died as a result of VA malfeasance, and the VA has paid out nearly $1 billion to veterans and their families for its medical malpractice.”

At the same time, we now know that government workers were “cooking the books” to increase their own performance-based bonuses while veterans suffered and received substandard care. Many died as a consequence of these unconscionable practices.

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

Gov't to family: Girl can't be named Harriet

 Harriet Cardew

A family is in turmoil after the government of Iceland is suddenly saying the family’s 10-year-old daughter Harriet cannot actually be named Harriet.

Not only that, the family’s 12-year-old son Duncan can’t be named Duncan.

The reason? Their names do not appear on a government-approved list.

“The whole situation is really rather silly,” the kids’ father, Tristan Cardew, told the Guardian newspaper.

Cardew and his Icelandic wife Kristin are appealing a decision by the National Registry in Reykjavik not to renew their daughter’s passport because it doesn’t recognize her first name.

National law states the names of children born in Iceland – unless both parents are foreigners – be sent to the National Registry before the kids are six months old.

U.S. Sues American Co. For Requiring Workers to Speak English

Via avordvet

The United States government is actually suing a private American business for discriminating against Hispanic and Asian employees because they don’t speak English on the job.

It involves a Green Bay Wisconsin metal and plastic manufacturer that fired a group of Hmong and Hispanic workers over their English skills, “even though those skills were not needed to perform their jobs,” according to the feds. More importantly, forcing employees to speak English in the U.S. violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, says the Obama administration.

Here’s the twisted explanation from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency that enforces the nation’s workplace discrimination laws; the Civil Rights Act protects employees from discrimination based on national origin, which includes the linguistic characteristics of a national origin group. Therefore, according to this reasoning, foreigners have the right to speak their native language even during work hours at an American company that requires English.

Mississippi GOP, state sued over vote fraud

Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss, (left) and Chris McDaniels (right)

True the Vote, the citizens initiative pursuing “free and fair elections for all Americans,” and 13 other plaintiffs have filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Mississippi Secretary of State and the Republican Party of Mississippi over the June 24 primary election runoff in which Sen. Thad Cochran edged tea-party challenger Chris McDaniel.

The lawsuit asks the court to grant immediate access to voting records to inspect for possible illegal voting. It asserts that “defendants failed to properly abide by federal election record maintenance and open records provisions codified in the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA). Records made partially available to the plaintiffs indicated ‘double-voting’ from Democratic to Republican primaries – potentially diluting votes in violation of the Equal Protection Clause.”

The complaint explains that the National Voter Registration Act supersedes Mississippi law.

Tropical Depression Could Grow Into North Carolina Hurricane Arthur

Via WiscoDave
Stormy

We're on the Sound across the bridge from the Southern Outer Banks and it's only calling for 15 to 25 MPH SE winds with 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday with better weather on Friday. We were planning on going to the Marlin's baseball game Thursday night, but might be better off going tomorrow.

*****************************

A tropical depression off the coast of Florida is forecast to grow into Hurricane Arthur and strike North Carolina’s Outer Banks during the Fourth of July holiday.

The storm was stationary 95 miles (153 kilometers) southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, with maximum winds of 35 miles per hour as of 8 a.m. local time, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory. Tropical storm watches were posted for Florida’s eastern coast from Fort Pierce to Flagler Beach because the system is expected to reach that level later today.

“For vacationers going out there to the Outer Banks, they will have some concerns and will have to watch this,” said Paul Walker, a meteorologist with AccuWeather Inc. in State College, Pennsylvania.

"Those who have the arms typically prevail over those who do not."

 civil war

According to family lore, three Owens brothers from Wales left their home country, spent a brief amount of time in Ireland, and then immigrated to the United States in the 1850s, landing in Philadelphia. At least one of the three brothers moved to North Carolina, and when the War of Northern Aggression broke out, my ancestors—like so many families—fought wearing both the blue and the grey.

During that horrible conflict, the Confederate States of America were arguably better led and better fighters, killing roughly 105,000 more Union soldiers and generating 138,000 more casualties.

So why did they lose?

A historical note from the National Park Service explains that it was largely a matter of demographics, logistics, and of course, industrial might.

The Great Whiskey Steal

 http://jenschoeller.us/webi1711/final/images/presidents/whiskey-ring.gifhttp://jenschoeller.us/webi1711/final/images/presidents/ulysses-grant.jpg

After inception in 1854, it took the Republican party only 6 years to destroy sectional harmony in the Union, and 7 years to plunge the country into a war that would end the Founders’ experiment of 1787.  By 1865, the South was devastated, subjugated, without a voice in its own government, and ruled by a Northern Republican political-military junta engulfed in a saturnalia of vice, corruption and outright fraud within the US government.  The corruption of the Gilded Age followed.

The Great Whiskey Steal

“A shoddy episode in the moral history of whiskey became a matter of public knowledge in the mid-1870s.  In this affair the United States Treasury was raided by its own high officers as well as minor functionaries who got their pinch, too, as a result of a cozy arrangement with large distillers in various urban centers who turned out “crooked” whiskey.

The federal excise tax on liquor had no more than gone into effect than a suspicion arose that distillers and rectifiers were cheating on their payments [and] Chicago, Peoria, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and New Orleans were mentioned as centers of fraud.  St. Louis, after General Grant’s inauguration in 1869, was especially under suspicion as the headquarters of a network of bribery, coercion and defiance of the law.

The whiskey frauds are a reminder that the North, as well as the South, had reconstruction problems.  The rapid progress of industrialization, the new economic power exercised by financial freebooters, the scramble for wealth by speculation, the philosophy prevailing among many politicians that public office existed for private gain, all signaled a general lowering of civic and business ethical standards.
This was the era of Boss Tweed in New York City, of the Gold Corner and Black Friday, of high-level public servants trading favors for a share in railroad construction contracts.  The veterans of the victorious armies, it seemed, having but recently saved the Union, were now to enjoy the privilege of looting it.

Once installed, [Grant’s old Army comrades] acted in several capacities, as government officials, as party satraps and as adventurers preying upon the public purse. A notable personality in this concourse was a . . . brevet general [and Grant’s personal secretary] named Orville E. Babcock.  With his flowing mustache and imperial . . . his dash and daring, his quick intellect, General Babcock was no ordinary operator, but a man of capacity who almost made it as one of the really great rogues of history.

It was through Babcock that the Whiskey Ring was able to operate a systematic fraud that riddled the revenue service and reached into the White House. The Treasury men out in the field and the distillers believed, not unnaturally, with Babcock so deeply involved, that the President was at least aware of the game if not an actual participant . . . and privy to the arrangements.  Some portion of the money did go to shore up Republican positions in closely contested elections.  But increasingly, since greed feeds upon greed, the graft was simply whacked up a personal plunder.

There is no evidence that Grant ever knew of these shenanigans . . . [though] Grant appointees purchased lavish homes, rented luxurious suites in the best hotels, enjoyed discreet suppers with ladies of the evening.  [Grant’s White House table] was furnished with gifts of choice game, fruits and other delicacies . . . [a] team [of horses] and the handsome and ornamental buggy [with] gold breastplates [for the horses] engraved with the President’s name.

In June, 1874, the Secretaryship of the Treasury was filled by the appointment of Benjamin Bristow, a tall, lean, honest Kentuckian with a passionate conviction that others in the public service should be honest . . . and set into motion a plan designed to trap the St. Louis racketeers.

President Grant at first gave vigorous support to the attack upon the whiskey conspiracy. Later he became increasingly reluctant to face unpleasant disclosures about his appointees.

“Well, Mr. Bristow,” the President remarked to [Bristow], “there is at least one honest man in St. Louis on whom we can rely – [General] John MacDonald.  I know that as he is an intimate acquaintance and confidential friend of Babcock’s.”

“Mr. President,” replied Bristow, tight-lipped, “McDonald is the head and center of all the frauds.”
The strategy of those implicated was to drag the scandal to the White House door as their best chance of getting off . . . The hot pursuit of his dapper secretary convinced Grant that there was a plot against him [but he] accepted Babcock’s explanation and clung to him only more stubbornly as the chase closed in.

The full weight of the presidential office thrown into the scales on his side, and since none of the whiskey thieves had peached on him, [Babcock] was acquitted . . . With the Republican palace guard under heavy obligation  to the members of the Ring for their silence, none of those who went to prison served his full term.”

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty. 2d Lt. Hibbs was in command of a 15-man ambush patrol of the 2d Battalion, when his unit observed a company of Viet Cong advancing along the road toward the 2d Battalion’s position. Informing his command post by radio of the impending attack, he prepared his men for the oncoming Viet Cong, emplaced 2 mines in their path and, when the insurgents were within 20 feet of the patrol’s position, he fired the 2 antipersonnel mines, wounding or killing half of the enemy company. Then, to cover the withdrawal of his patrol, he threw hand grenades, stepped onto the open road, and opened fire on the remainder of the Viet Cong force of approximately 50 men.

Having rejoined his men, he was leading them toward the battalion perimeter when the patrol encountered the rear elements of another Viet Cong company deployed to attack the battalion. With the advantage of surprise, he directed a charge against the Viet Cong, which carried the patrol through the insurgent force, completely disrupting its attack. Learning that a wounded patrol member was wandering in the area between the 2 opposing forces and although moments from safety and wounded in the leg himself, he and a sergeant went back to the battlefield to recover the stricken man.
After they maneuvered through the withering fire of 2 Viet Cong machineguns, the sergeant grabbed the dazed soldier and dragged him back toward the friendly lines while 2d Lt. Hibbs remained behind to provide covering fire. Armed with only an M-16 rifle and a pistol, but determined to destroy the enemy positions, he then charged the 2 machinegun emplacements and was struck down. Before succumbing to his mortal wounds, he destroyed the starlight telescopic sight attached to his rifle to prevent its capture and use by the Viet Cong.

2d Lt. Hibb’s profound concern for his fellow soldiers, and his intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty are in the highest traditions of the U.S. Army and reflect great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of his country.

Law Prof. Turley: Obama Risks Constitutional Crisis With Executive Action

 https://i1.ytimg.com/vi/aDUtRuaHatY/0.jpg

President Barack Obama is acting like "a bad gambler at Vegas" by doubling down on executive actions less than a week after a stinging Supreme Court defeat, says George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley.

A defiant Obama promised to take even more executive actions on Monday because Congress has told him it will not pass any immigration reform laws this year.

"If House Republicans are really concerned about me taking too many executive actions, the best solution to that is passing bills. Pass a bill. Solve a problem," Obama said in a Rose Garden press conference.

Turley, appearing on Fox News Channel's "Special Report, " called that "a pretty surprising statement" considering that "the ink is barely dry" on Thursday's 9-0 decision saying Obama was wrong to have made recess appointments when the Senate had declared itself to be in session.

"For him now to double down makes him look like a bad gambler at Vegas,"

Ohio father arrested because 8-year-old son explored neighborhood

Via Nancy

Jeffery Williamson and his son, Justin. (Source: WCPO)

An Ohio family is reeling after a father was arrested and lost his job because his 8-year-old son explored the neighborhood by himself. He could face up to six months in jail.

Justin Williamson, 8, recently decided to skip church without telling his father. When the church van came to pick him up on a recent Sunday morning, the boy instead walked a half-mile from his home to a local Dollar General store.

A local busybody called the police to report an unattended minor. The police rounded up Justin and then came after his father, Jeffrey Williamson.

“The next thing you know, [the officer] comes up to me and he says, ‘You’re under arrest,’” Mr. Williamson told WCPO. “My kids start crying their eyes out wondering why I’m getting arrested.”
Mr. Williamson was arrested on a charge of “child endangerment.” If convicted, he could potentially spend six months in jail.

“It’s ridiculous to me that I was arrested for this,” Williamson remarked.

His arrest was telegraphed on the front page of the local newspaper, and he subsequently was fired from his job. The kids are now instilled with a fear of police.
