Ol' Remus: "Nothing could be finer than........."

Via WRSA

DC has lately taken it upon itself to decide the legitimacy of its critics and act upon its verdicts without review or constraint, its decisions preferably validated by over-the-top simulated contrition bullied from its prey. But the larger part of the citizenry is not about to accept serial humiliation at the hands of self-declared lords, nor shall they accept alleged illegitimacy in their own homeland, nor are they to be deflected by DC's choking off avenues of redress for all but their loyal cadre. This is a 'space station view' of America today.

To use a current example, DC has summarily declared Southern heritage to be illegitimate; in fact, the region in its entirety has been reseated below the salt. Do they suppose this will be accepted, do they expect abject capitulation at some future hour? Or is it more reasonable to suppose they've created another hostile outlier seething with resentment and looking for payback?

How Long Before You Resist?

Via III Percent Patriots

I have been waiting a long time for people in this community to decide that enough is enough and contact me with plans to do something in the face of the continual abuses of the federal government. I don't know what it takes to motivate resistance. We are witnessing the absolute destruction of our society and I know there are those out there who deplore the changes taking place in our society, but none who are motivated to act.

I know there are those who are thinking locally and who are developing strong communication systems, who are busy building the skills of their tribe. And while that is absolutely commendable and to be honest, one of the systems upon which I will rely when the SHTF, there needs to be more.  There needs to be an actual resistance, an actual leader who is willing to stand up, with the weight of those dedicated to liberty and confront the actions being taken in our name.

A Confederate Suggestion Moving Forward - Please Consider

Folks,

Please forward to all concerned.

The communications and links I've received the last few weeks regarding the "flash mob" mindset to eradicate Confederate property has overwhelmed my computer. On several occasions I've noticed the opposition to Confederate flags and monuments claim it is about reconciliation. For those of you organizing and mustering every like-minded body to stand against this anti-Confederate frenzy, may I offer some suggestions.

If you get "face time" with politicians, focus your primary argument on codes / laws in place. Many of these were the result of reconciliation that started at the beginning of the 20th century. Do not attempt to give them 18th and 19th history lessons, but be prepared in case the opportunity arises for discussion. Your time will be short and you need to get the biggest bang for your buck. I've been fortunate to stand before various councils to defend monuments years ago and the real attention-getter was presenting these codes / laws to their attorney. I gave a few anecdotes to support what reconciliation led to these laws. Here are a few:

1. Following the Spanish-American War, which saw former Confederates serving under US colors, the world began to look at us as a "super power."

2. Recognizing the need to bind old wounds, the government and the north started giving back flags and other captured equipment.

3. Confederate Veterans were enlisted to teach our "doughboys" the Rebel Yell battle cry. Unfortunately, they could not duplicate the three-tone yell.

4. President Wilson appointed former disenfranchised Confederates to official posts such as Post Master General.

5. President Roosevelt sent the President's Own Marine Band to play at the only "out of South" UCV Reunion in Colorado. He also gave remarks at the unveiling of the Robert E. Lee memorial statue in Dallas, Tx. - recognizing Lee as one of America's greatest Christians and one of America's greatest gentlemen.

6. Southern men distinguished themselves in every war following the American Civil War, with more men serving from the South than any other sector of the country.

7. This reconciliation period led up to the Congressional Act of 9 March 1906, U.S. Public Law 810 Approved by 17th Congress 26 February 1929, and the final crown of reconciliation with U.S. Public Law 85-425: Sec. 410 Approved 23 May 1958.

As has been the case the last few decades, numbers are paramount. Enlist every able and willing body who believes in the Cause for which our Confederate Veterans fought. Present yourselves as simple citizens, not members of any "group." Unless they know you, mentioning you are a member of any group, especially a Confederate heritage group, make create a wall and they'll tune out your presentation. I've seen this happen too many times. Most people are Confederate at heart and may not even know it. Set personalities aside because the enemy has a massive army and like the invading yankees, they don't care where they get their bodies. And that is what gets the attention of politicians and media.

Below are the documents I mentioned. Please make copies to give others and especially every panel of politicians. Also included for dissemination is President Eisenhower's proclamation on the centennial of the American Civil War. This proclamation can also be found here:

Congressional Act of 9 March 1906

We Honor Our Fallen Ancestors

(P.L. 38, 59th Congress, Chap. 631-34 Stat. 56)

Authorized the furnishing of headstones for the graves of Confederates who died, primarily in Union prison camps and were buried in Federal cemeteries.

Remarks: This act formally reaffirmed Confederate soldiers as military combatants with legal standing. It granted recognition to deceased Confederate soldiers commensurate with the status of deceased Union soldiers.

U.S. Public Law 810, Approved by 17th Congress 26 February 1929

(45 Stat 1307 – Currently on the books as 38 U.S. Code, Sec. 2306)

This law, passed by the U.S. Congress, authorized the “Secretary of War to erect headstones over the graves of soldiers who served in the Confederate Army and to direct him to preserve in the records of the War Department the names and places of burial of all soldiers for whom such headstones shall have been erected.”

Remarks: This act broadened the scope of recognition further for all Confederate soldiers to receive burial benefits equivalent to Union soldiers. It authorized the use of U.S. government (public) funds to mark Confederate graves and record their locations.

U.S. Public Law 85-425: Sec. 410 Approved 23 May 1958

Confederate Iron Cross

(US Statutes at Large Volume 72, Part 1, Page 133-134)

The Administrator shall pay to each person who served in the military or naval forces of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War a monthly pension in the same amounts and subject to the same conditions as would have been applicable to such person under the laws in effect on December 31, 1957, if his service in such forces had been service in the military or naval forces of the United States.

General Robert E. Lee Remarks: While this was only a gesture since the last Confederate veteran died in 1958, it is meaningful in that only forty-five years ago (from 2003), the Congress of the United States saw fit to consider Confederate soldiers as equivalent to U.S. soldiers for service benefits. This final act of reconciliation was made almost one hundred years after the beginning of the war and was meant as symbolism more than substantive reward.

Additional Note by the Critical History: Under current U.S. Federal Code, Confederate Veterans are equivalent to Union Veterans.

By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation

The years 1961 to 1965 will mark the one-hundredth anniversary of the American Civil War.

That war was America's most tragic experience. But like most truly great tragedies, it carries with it an enduring lesson and a profound inspiration. It was a demonstration of heroism and sacrifice by men and women of both sides who valued principle above life itself and whose devotion to duty is a part of our Nation's noblest tradition.

Both sections of our now magnificently reunited country sent into their armies men who became soldiers as good as any who ever fought under any flag. Military history records nothing finer than the courage and spirit displayed at such battles as Chickamauga, Antietam, Kennesaw Mountain, and Gettysburg. That America could produce men so valiant and so enduring is a matter for deep and abiding pride.

The same spirit on the part of the people at home supported and strengthened those soldiers through four years of great trial. That a Nation which contained hardly more than thirty million people, North and South together, could sustain six hundred thousand deaths without faltering is a lasting testimonial to something unconquerable in the American spirit. And that a transcending sense of unity and larger common purpose could, in the end, cause the men and women who had suffered so greatly to close ranks once the contest ended and to go on together to build a greater, freer, and happier America must be a source of inspiration as long as our country may last.

By a joint resolution approved on September 7, 1957 (71 Stat. 626), the Congress established the Civil War Centennial Commission to prepare plans and programs for the nationwide observances of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Civil War, and requested the President to issue proclamations inviting the people of the United States to participate in those observances.

Now, Therefore, I, Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the United States of America, do hereby invite all of the people of our country to take a direct and active part in the Centennial of the Civil War.

I request all units and agencies of government--Federal, State, and local--and their officials to encourage, foster, and participate in Centennial observances. And I especially urge our Nation's schools and colleges, its libraries and museums, its churches and religious bodies, its civic, service, and patriotic organizations, its learned and professional societies, its arts, sciences, and industries, and its informational media, to plan and carry out their own appropriate Centennial observances during the years 1961 to 1965; all to the end of enriching our knowledge and appreciation of this momentous chapter in our Nation's history and of making this memorable period truly a Centennial for all Americans.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States of America to be affixed.

DONE at the City of Washington this sixth day of December in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and sixty, and of the Independence of the United States of America the one hundred and eighty-fifth.

Historical Ignorance: Walter Williams

Via Conservative Heritage Times

The victors of war write its history in order to cast themselves in the most favorable light.

That explains the considerable historical ignorance about our war of 1861 and panic over the Confederate flag. To create better understanding, we have to start a bit before the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.

The 1783 Treaty of Paris ended the war between the colonies and Great Britain. Its first article declared the 13 colonies "to be free, sovereign and independent states." These 13 sovereign nations came together in 1787 as principals and created the federal government as their agent. Principals have always held the right to fire agents. In other words, states held a right to withdraw from the pact -- secede.

Alabama attorney files lawsuit against Gov. Bentley challenging Confederate flag removal

Via Billy

A Cullman-based attorney has filed a lawsuit against Alabama's governor saying Robert Bentley didn't have the authority to remove Confederate flags from the grounds of the state Capitol.

The lawsuit states the Alabama Historical Commission didn't follow its mandate and the governor "overstepped his authority" when four Confederate flags were removed from the Confederate Memorial Monument on June 24.

Melvin Hastings filed the suit on behalf of himself in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Tuesday afternoon. The suit lists Bentley, Alabama Historical Commission and its acting executive director Lisa Jones as defendants.

I simply cannot sit back any longer and do or say nothing about what is happening in this country. Because of one person whom decided to commit a horrendous act of violence, flags are being removed and banned, statues are in jeopardy to be taken down, highways renamed and even the unspeakable act of moving the remains of Confederate Leaders.

This is an outrage and totally unacceptable!

Opposition to removal of Confederate memorials at Lee Circle and elsewhere gains steam

Via The Last Refuge

Opponents of the proposed removal of Confederate memorials in New Orleans are using social media to organize the fight to keep them where they stand. What started out as an effort to keep the statue of Robert E. Lee atop his column in Lee Circle, has expanded its mission to include defending all of the statues and monuments dedicated to the Confederacy.

The City Council, at Mayor Mitch Landrieu's request, has begun a formal hearing process that could result in the removal of Lee and monuments dedicated to P.G.T. Beauregard, another Confederate general; Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy; and the Battle of Liberty Place, a bloody confrontation instigated by ex-Confederates who launched a failed coup against Louisiana's Reconstruction government.

Led by Tim Shea Carroll, the "Save our Circle" movement has collected nearly 15,000 signatures on a change.org petition opposing the removals and united 3,465 users in a Facebook group dedicated to the same cause.

Time to Call Obama and Kerry What They Are: Traitors

Via David Iran Deal: 7-14-2015: A New Day of Infamy

We have met the enemy and he is in the White House.

The last time a feeble leader of a fading nation came bearing “Peace in our time,” a pugnacious controversial right-winger retorted, “You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.” That right-winger went on to lead the United Kingdom against Hitler.

The latest worthless agreement with a murderous dictatorship is being brandished by John Kerry, a man who instinctively seeks out dishonor the way a pig roots for truffles.

John Kerry betrayed his uniform and his nation so many times that it became his career. He illegally met with the representatives of the North Vietnamese enemy in Paris and then next year headed to Washington, D.C. where he blasted the American soldiers being murdered by his new friends as rapists and murderers “reminiscent of Genghis Khan.”

Even before being elected, Kerry was already spewing Communist propaganda in the Senate.

“Who needs direct repression when one can convince the chicken to walk freely into the slaughterhouse?”—Philosopher Slavoj Žižek

Despite the best efforts of some to sound the alarm, the nation is being locked down into a militarized, mechanized, hypersensitive, legalistic, self-righteous, goose-stepping antithesis of every principle upon which this nation was founded.

All the while, the nation’s citizens seem content to buy into a carefully constructed, benevolent vision of life in America that bears little resemblance to the gritty, pain-etched reality that plagues those unfortunate enough to not belong to the rarefied elite.

For those whose minds have been short-circuited into believing the candy-coated propaganda peddled by the politicians, here is an A-to-Z, back-to-the-basics primer of what life in the United States of America is really all about.

The Publicly Broadcast Hate Speech Against the Confederate Flag

 Scalawag traitor.

When I initially decided to express an online and public position regarding the Confederate Flag I also realized I would need to try and be patient and tactful. Setting a good example and providing people with a well presented argument is usually an effective way to advocate. However I've never particularly been interested in winning popularity contests, so I also employ several agitating and flamboyant styles of advocacy. While my topics and opinions are usually grounded in common sense; the way in which I choose to comment can either spark debate and thought or simply be agitating while proving my point.

When I saw Jenny Anderson Horne screaming that the Confederate Flag is a symbol of hate being broadcast on CTV News Regina, it didn't take long for me to decide what type of comments I would post. The following opinion is based under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms:

§700. Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties

 https://viabrevis.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/tontoenglish.jpg

Hey Brock

A friend of mine who works for the FBI sent me this last night, he said the "discussion at work" was about this and whether or not it would apply to the confederate flag considering it was in all actuality an "American" flag. This came up during a discussion and no one in the room even knew this was in the law.

Greg

(Good question, but say it doesn't apply to the Battle Flag, then it should apply to the Bonnie Blue et al. although irrelevant since they are abused everyday without arrests.  At any rate, our Founders would be aghast that *we pledge allegiance to a flag instead of the Constitution. BT) *'What you mean, "we," Kemo Sabe?'

**********************************

(a)(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.

(2) This subsection does not prohibit any conduct consisting of the disposal of a flag when it has become worn or soiled.

(b) As used in this section, the term “flag of the United States” means any flag of the United States, or any part thereof, made of any substance, of any size, in a form that is commonly displayed.

Petition To Remove African American Memorial In Columbia Closing In On 50,000 Signatures

Via Bob

An on line petition at change.org calls for the removal on the African American memorial on the South Carolina Statehouse Lawn.

Stating the reason for removal is that it is offensive to a greater number of South Carolinians than not. That the African American Monument depicts slave ships, mistreatment and words such as "segregation" and "Jim Crow" and that this invokes in the white community feelings of shame, humiliation and offense, (ha!) serving as a constant reminder of the dark history of slavery.

Not surprisingly the main stream media doesn't see the current 35,000 signatures as news worthy.

Confederate Flag waving dad wants guy who pointed gun at him thrown in jail

Via comment by Cav Med on SC: RALLY TO THE COLOURS!

 Mark Wilson Jr.

An Amelia man was charged with brandishing a firearm after he pointed a gun at a Chesterfield family that was waving Confederate Flags on Hull Street Road outside their Moseley home, police said. James Baker, 46, was released following his arrest on the class one misdemeanor. He is due in court on September 3.

No one was hurt in the Monday night incident and no charges have been filed yet as the investigation remained on-going, a Chesterfield Police spokeswoman said.

Mark Wilson, whose family stood outside and waved the flag Monday night and again on Tuesday, called the incident scary.

“He slammed on the brakes and when he got right beside me, he pulled out a gun, chambered a round and told me my cause wasn’t worth anything now,” Wilson said. “He got out of the car and took three steps towards me and the gun was maybe six inches off my head.”

The billboard, which reads “Diversity is a code word #White Genocide“, has not yet had a response from media, but there have been similar billboards in the past which caused a media frenzy.
