Tracing The Origin of The Modern Republican Party Agenda…

Via Mike "This is a very informative but disturbing article. Basic theme: The agenda of the RNC, the GOP establishment, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are basically identical,  and its political financing comes first and foremost from the U.S. Chamber, but huge chunks also come from the Koch Brothers and others. They want:
1. "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" including amnesty and tripling of legal foreign immigration and guest workers, i.e. cheap labor
2. TPP
3. Keeping and maintaing Obamacare.
They don't care about social issues and don't want GOP political campaigns focused on anything by economics and taxes.
Their power has increased immensely since the Supreme Court's favorable ruling on the Citizens United  case, which liberalizwd PAC spending considerably."

Sometimes Conspiracies are not Just Theory

Sometimes when you find yourself in a disconcerting and unfamiliar place, it can be beneficial to stop, look back and understand just how we ended up in this terrain.  The professional DC consultant class are benefiting from the current climate of chaos, and they certainly don’t want anyone to review the consequential and intentional steps it took to get here.

When the Tea Party rose up in opposition to President Obama’s indulgent spending programs in 2009 many were under the mistaken assumption the opposing party, the republicans, were against the progressive agenda based on principle.

Lee’s Memory

 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/RobertLeeMonument.jpg

In the wake of growing hostility toward the Confederacy a New Orleans Robert E. Lee statue is scheduled for destruction and debate is underway in Charlottesville, Virginia to remove another one.

Even though Washington & Lee is a private university, it has already yielded to pressures to remove the Confederate flag from the Lee Chapel. The school may ultimately feel compelled to drop the Lee name unless at least a few venerable historians publicly object to the escalating tyranny toward Confederate symbols. To date none have done so, presumably for one of two reasons.

First, they believe the odium is justified. Given such an opinion there is no reason why they should object to degrading Lee’s memory and may even wish to promote it.

Second, others who think the disdain is excessive lack the will to speak out due to the prevailing opposite sentiment among their peers and the public. It takes courage for historians who have spent years earning the favor of others to express a contrary viewpoint because it may adversely affect their popularity, reputations and book sales. Nonetheless, Mississippian Shelby Foote set a good example of such pluck fifty years ago in the afterword of the second volume of his three-volume Civil War Narrative:

I am indebted also to the governors of my native state and the adjoining states of Arkansas and Alabama for helping to lessen my sectional bias by reproducing, in their actions during the several years that went into the writing of this volume, much that was least admirable in the position my forebears occupied when they stood up to Lincoln. I…fervently hope it is true that history never repeats itself, but I know in watching these three gentlemen, it can be terrifying in its approximations, even when the reproduction is in miniature.
Washington & Lee would not be the admired school it is today without Lee’s legacy. After he became president of Washington College in 1865 he attracted financial donations from all over the country.

His reputation was a magnet that drew some to the best students in the South and increasingly from other parts of the country as well. The school’s present status owes more to his memory than to Washington’s, or anyone else’s. To remove his name would be to deny the credit he deserves.  Nonetheless, it could become a consequence of the present trend toward Southern cultural genocide that is “terrifying in its approximations.”

Stunning Video Reveals Why You Shouldn't Trust Anything You See On Television

Via sauced07

In recent years, many have voiced increasing concerns with their ability to place trust in official data, and have faith in conventional narratives.

And for good reason: just yesterday a University of Chicago finance professor, while being interviewed at the Ambrosetti Forum, said that it is all about preserving confidence and trust in a "rigged game": "if people are told enough by smart people on television that the economy has been fixed, and the market is a reflection of the fundamentals, then they’ll blindly support anything the Fed does."

But while the saying "don't believe everything [or anything] you read" and "trust but verify" may be more appropriate now than ever, the following video is an absolute stunner in its revelation of just how deep "real-time" media deception can truly go.

In a recently published paper by the Stanford lab of Matthias Niessner titled "Face2Face: Real-time Face Capture and Reenactment of RGB Videos", the authors show how disturbingly easy it is to take a surrogate actor and, in real time using everyday available tools, reenact their face and create the illusion that someone else, notably someone famous or important, is speaking. Even more disturbing: one doesn't need sophisticated equipment to create a "talking" clone - a commodity webcam and some software is all one needs to create the greatest of sensory manipulations.
From the paper abstract:

Trump claims Republican Party is 'disenfranchising people' with 'crooked shenanigans' as Cruz picks up delegates in states where the billionaire won more votes

Via cscitizen

FIRING BACK: Donald Trump warned the GOP not to monkey with the delegate process on Sunday, saying it's unfair when he wins the popular vote in some states but trails there in delegate counts

What we have going is a movement,' he said.

'Now, they're trying to subvert the movement. They can't do it with bodies. They can't do it with people because they don't have near the people that we have. So what they're trying to do is subvert the movement with crooked shenanigans. And we're just not going to let it happen.'

Trump said he 'should win' the Republican presidential nomination outright 'before we get to the convention' in July.

But on the heels of a series of statewide victories by his rival Ted Cruz that were the result of political arm-twisting, not ballot-casting, Trump appeared to be running out of patience.

One such state, Louisiana, saw the billionaire win unexpectedly by more than three per cent last month. But because Cruz's staffers showed up to take part in the Republican Party's post-election procedural wrangling, the Texas senator may go to the convention with more of the state's delegates than Trump.

'We've got a corrupt system,' Trump told supporters on Sunday.

Bob Iger, Rupert Murdock, Michael Bloomberg and Bill Marriott are just a few of the corporate execs working to help cities become sanctuaries for migrants – legal and illegal – while offering money to propagate a rosy view of immigrants’ impact on the economy.

The corporate honchos led by Bloomberg and Disney’s Iger have teamed up with the nation’s mayors in an organization called the Partnership for a New American Economy.

PNAE announced March 29 it has picked 20 cities from among dozens of competing applications for a grant program based on their “welcoming” attitude toward immigrants, refugees and other “New Americans.”

NC: Taxes Only for Public Objects and Ends

 http://f.tqn.com/y/charlotte/1/L/X/B/-/-/meck-dec.png

In May of 1882 Delaware’s Senator Bayard recalled the meaning of the Mecklenburg Resolves and warned against the continuing expenditure of public tax dollars on projects unrelated to a strictly “public objects and ends.” Americans then were witnessing a federal government, unrestrained since 1861, complicit in subsidies to private businesses and pursuing vast imperial ambitions.

Taxes Only for Public Objects and Ends

“The commemorative celebration of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence took place at Charlotte on May 20th [1882]. The streets were fairly decked with flags and banners, filled with citizen soldiers in bright uniforms, and at least 20,000 people from the surrounding country.

Governor [Thomas] Jarvis and his staff, Senators Vance, [Matt] Ransom, Wade Hampton and [Thomas] Bayard were present. The Mecklenburg Declaration was read by Senator Ransom, and Senator Vance introduced the orator of the occasion, Thomas F. Bayard of Delaware. The address was enthusiastically received, especially the sentiments contained in the following extract:

“I wish I could impress upon you gentlemen, and not upon you only but upon our fellow-countrymen everywhere, the fatal fallacy and mischief that underlies and inheres to every proposition to use the money of the people — drawn from them by taxation, the powers of the government, the force of their government, under any name or pretext — for any other than really public objects and ends.

I include the maintenance of the public honor, dignity, and credit, the protection of American citizenship everywhere, among the just objects for the exercise of governmental powers; but I wish to deny . . . the rightfulness of involving the welfare and happiness of the 50,000,000 men, women, and children of the country, whether by laying taxes upon them which are not needed for the support of their government, or paying bounties and subsidies to maintain lines of private business which are too unskillfully or unprofitably conducted otherwise to sustain themselves, or promising the presence of our fleets or armies, or risking the issue of peace or war, or shedding the blood of our soldiers and sailors in aid of schemes of private greed or personal ambition under the guise of claims foreign or domestic.”

River towns were born when cotton was king

High price of cotton brought immigrants

The high price of cotton during the years following the close of the War of 1812 gave Alabama her first great influx of population. During 1818, land sales in Alabama reached a peak. The competition for good cotton acreage at Government auctions created comment throughout the country.

Birth of river towns

The planting of cotton along the rivers of Alabama gave birth to several towns between 1815 and 1818. St. Stephens was the head of the schooner navigation on the Tombigbee. It was a bustling community when Mobile was still in the hands of the Spain.
Above St. Stephens, Tuscaloosa was located at the head of boat navigation on the Black Warrior, and from there overland trade continued between Jones Valley to the Valley of the Tennessee.

New England Rebels and Tyrants

 http://imagecache.artistrising.com/artwork/lrg//0/35/CQN0000A.jpg

Admiral Raphael Semmes wrote in the immediate postwar that “Constitutions are made for the protection of minorities,” that “they naturally cling to the guarantees and defences provided for them in the fundamental law; it is only when they become strong” and become majorities “that their principles and their virtues are really tested.” He was referring to New England which when in the minority was firmly for States’ rights, but in 1860 when it became the majority, became strongly nationalist and embarked on a path to subjugate the South.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com   The Great American Political Divide

New England Rebels and Tyrants

“The American Constitution died of a disease that was inherent in it. It was framed on false principles inasmuch as the attempt was made, through its means of binding together, in a republican form of government, two dissimilar peoples, with widely dissimilar interests.

Monarchical governments may accomplish this since they are founded by force, but republican governments never. The secession of the Southern States was a mere corollary of the American proposition of government; and the Northern States stultified themselves, the moment they started to resist it. The consent of the Southern States being wanted, there should have been an end of the question.

If the Northern States were not satisfied to let them go, but entertained, on the contrary, a desire to restrain them by force, this was a proof that those States had become tired of the republican form and desired to change it.

So loth was the South to abandon the Union that she made strenuous efforts to remain in it, even after Mr. Lincoln had been made president in 1860. In this election that dreaded sectional line against which President Washington had warned his countrymen in his Farewell Address, had at last been drawn . . . There had at last arisen a united North, against a untied South.

[Lincoln’s election] was purely geographical; it was tantamount to a denial of the co-equality of the Southern States with the Northern States, since it drove the former out of the common Territories. In both houses of Congress the Northern faction which had so recently triumphed in the election of their president, was arrayed in hostility to the South, and could not be moved [to compromise] an inch. Rebels, when in a minority, [New Englanders] had become tyrants now that they were in a majority.

Nothing remained to the South, but to raise the gauntlet which had been thrown at her feet. The federal government which had been established by our ancestors had failed of its object. Instead of binding the States together, in peace, and amity, it had, in the hands of one portion of the States, become an engine of oppression of the other portion. It so happened, that the slavery question was the issue which finally tore them asunder, but . . . this question was a mere means, to an end.

[That] end was empire . . . in this hemisphere, the drama which had so often been enacted in the other, of the more powerful nation crushing out the weaker.

The war between the American sections was but the prototype of many other wars, which have occurred among the human race. It had its origin in the unregenerated nature of man, who is only an intellectual wild beast, whose rapacity has never yet been restrained, by a sense of justice. The American people thought, when they framed the Constitution that they were to be an exception to mankind, in general.

History had instructed them that all other peoples, who had gone before them had torn up paper governments, when the paper was the only bulwark that protected such governments, but then they were the American people, and no such fate could await them.”

Delegate Count 4-10

Trump Leads in Wins, Delegates and Popular Vote

According to Real Clear Politics,as of April 10 in the Republican Presidential race, Donald Trump is way ahead of Senator Cruz in wins, delegates and the popular vote.

Trump currently has twice as many wins as Cruz, and nearly one and half times as many delegates and popular votes as Cruz.  What is really telling is the difference in primary wins.

Primaries are where every vote is counted and thus appear more democratic than caucuses where all sorts of irregularities can take place.  Trump has 17 primary wins to Cruz’s 4.

Armenia and Azerbaijan: The war you aren’t hearing about — and why you should care

Situated in the mountains of the Caucasus lies one of the oldest Christian outposts on the fringes of Europe, an internationally unrecognized Armenian enclave known as Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenians have been living in the region of Karabakh as far back as the stone age. Armenia is the world’s oldest Christian nation, having converted in 301 AD (that’s 26 years before Emperor Constantine was baptised), and is home to some of the world’s oldest and most extravagant Christian churches.

Yet all is not well for present day Armenia and Karabakh.

To its south is the Islamic Republic of Iran, to its west is the Republic of Turkey (the successor state of the Ottoman Empire that slaughtered 1.5 million Armenians in the name of Islam in the last century), and to its east is the Republic of Azerbaijan, an oil rich Caspian dictatorship ruled by Ilham Aliyev.

VERBATIM

The Boston Globe, allegedly a "newspaper", has informed their readers that Sundays edition will be filled with false, made up stories that they purport will reflect what will be the American reality in the first weeks and months of a Donald Trump Presidency. The stories as publish are combination of what typical leftist mouthpieces would consider horrific, the stupidly fanciful and outright wishful thinking.

It could certainly be expected or even anticipated that a parody publication like "The Onion" would produce such a work. That a supposedly "respectable", long established newspaper would stoop to such a level clearly reflects not just blatant bias on the part of the Globe (and its owners, the New York Times) but the palpable desperation of the political establishment, and their media mouthpieces, both left and right.

Up to this point, much to their frustration, little or nothing of what they have thrown at Donald Trump has effectively stuck or slowed his campaign's momentum. I would venture to guess, that having looked at their own internal polling, they fear that their much vaunted dreams of a brokered convention will be wrenched from their grasp by an overwhelming Trump victory in New York's April 19th primary, followed by strong showings in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.

On this account, I for one hope that for once they are correct. Clearly Mr. Trump has not just gotten under the establishment's skin but is winning the game of three dimensional chess that this political season has become. I further suspect that this will backfire in short order and become fodder for Mr. Trump's stump speech. I kind of look forward to his reaction and his ridiculing it for the childishness it is.

Tommy Robinson: “It’s Not for Getting Me Six Months, It’s for Getting Me Killed” = His Legal Defense Fund: An Appeal

Via WRSA

The following above video features an audio interview with Tommy Robinson from a talk radio program. In it he discusses his upcoming court appearance, and the likelihood of his getting killed if he has to serve another six-month prison sentence. I hadn’t realized it before, but part of the establishment’s strategy to ensure that he gets sent back inside is that the charge against him has been reduced to battery, so that he is not entitled to a jury trial. Tommy is convinced that if he were to stand before a jury of his peers, he would be acquitted. But he is to be denied that opportunity.

I never thought I would be using these “Free Tommy” graphics again, but here we are, five years after his first court case, appealing once again to our readers to help Tommy Robinson’s legal defense.

Tommy’s next court appearance is on April 14. Based on what happened to him the last time he was imprisoned, if he has to do another stretch inside he may not come out alive.
