Lost at sea: Vietnamese family reunites with the men who rescued them

After the fall of Saigon in 1975, more than a million desperate people fled Vietnam. Many escaped in small boats, including Vietnamese immigrant Lauren Vuong. Now a successful attorney, she's accomplished a lot in the four decades since then but one goal remained elusive: finding and thanking the men who rescued her at sea. Don Dahler reports.

Vietnamese orphans return home

Forty years ago, Operation Babylift carried orphaned Vietnamese children out of the country in advance of South Vietnam's fall. As Barry Petersen reports, some of those children - long since grown up - are now returning to the land of their birth to discover their roots.

A Fool and His Money are Soon Elected

Will Rogers had a quip for just about any situation, but he loved to talk politics. Rogers was born on a Cherokee reservation in Oklahoma. His father was a Confederate veteran and political leader in the Cherokee nation. At the height of his career, Will Rogers had the number one radio program in America and was the highest paid actor in Hollywood.

His folksy style and unassuming demeanor veiled a sharp wit and keen political insight. He understood the charade better than most. Rogers despised the Republican Party, but more than anything he hated career politicians and government waste.

A Grim—and Ignored—Body Count: The problem in the American inner city is not racism but drive-by shootings of blacks by other blacks.

The latest anti-cop riots to convulse an American city hit Philadelphia last week, part of a stream of such violence since the early summer. This bout of looting and assault broke out after the fatal police shooting of Walter Wallace, Jr., on October 26. The shooting of the 27-year-old Wallace appears justified, if tragic. Wallace had been threatening his mother with a knife, resulting in two previous 911 calls that day. When the police arrived, he ignored repeated requests to drop the knife as he approached the officers. The officers had not been equipped with Tasers; in that situation, they had no other option, as Wallace’s father himself has acknowledged, than to use their guns. (In March, Wallace stabbed the mother of his children and threatened to “shoot you and that house up.” His record included 18 previous arrests for robbery, assaults on cops, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and domestic abuse.)

Election Day kicked off with a bout of chaos in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with poll watchers reportedly denied access and witnesses alleging “illegal campaigning” at various polling locations.

According to Trump 2020 EDO director Mike Roman, Democrat election officials are banning Trump poll watchers all across the city, as one video shows. Another photo on social media shows a physical barrier, which Roman says Democrat officials are using to keep poll watchers far from the counting tables:

‘Trump Train’ Incident With Biden Bus: Police Say Biden-Harris Vehicle Likely At Fault @ Trump: "In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong."

The bus of Democratic presidential candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden sits in a parking lot after a campaign event on November 30, 2019 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

A Biden-Harris vehicle might have been at fault in the apparent incident with a Biden campaign bus and a so-called “Trump train” of the president’s supporters over the weekend in Texas.

After researching the crash via online videos, the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) said “the ‘at-fault vehicle’ may be the Biden-Harris staffer’s car, while the ‘victim’ appears to be one of the Trump vehicles,” reported KXAN News.

They love Donald Trump because no one else loves them. The country they built, the country their ancestors fought for over hundreds of years has left them to die ... mocked and despised by the sneering half-wits with finance degrees but no actual skills.”
