The War Through Women’s Eyes, Part II

Cornelia Peake Mcdonald (Author of A Woman's Civil War)

"The next day Mrs. McDonald went into Winchester to aid in caring for the wounded. She wrote: "I wanted to be useful, and tried my best, but at the sight of one face that the surgeon uncovered, telling me that it must be washed, I thought I should faint. It was that of a Captain Jones of a Tennessee regiment. A ball had struck him on the side of the face, taking both eyes and the bridge of his nose. It was a frightful spectacle. I stood as the surgeon explained how, and why he might be saved, and the poor fellow not aware of the awful sight his eyeless face was, with the fearful wound still fresh and bleeding, joined in the talk, and, raising his hand put his finger on his left temple and said, 'Ah! if they had only struck me there, I should have troubled no one.' The surgeon asked me if I would wash his wound. . . ."

Immigration Watchdog: Biden Amnesty Bill Will Grant Citizenship To 37 MILLION People: "That's almost the population of California...and more than doubles legal immigration"

Survey: Trump's immigration rhetoric is negatively impacting Latinos' health

An immigration watchdog organization warned that Joe Biden’s radical immigration bill introduced to Congress would grant amnesty to 37 million illegal aliens — roughly the population of California.

NumbersUSA President Rosemary Jenks went on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” on Tuesday to explain how under the bill, called the U.S. Citizenship Act, 37 million illegals would receive green cards and citizenship over 10 years.

“The cost of that is the destruction of our country,” Jenks told Bannon. “We will lose our country.”

Half of Republicans Believe President Trump Won Election, Poll Finds | Politics | US News

How can the federal government pass legislation that tells the states how to run their elections as Democrats proposed in H.R. 1? The Constitution is clear that states run their elections, just as it is clear that those changes to 2020 election processes without permission by state legislatures was unconstitutional. Or are Democrats betting that the Supreme Court will figure out how to punt about this also just as it refused to look at 2020 election violations or how Chief Justice Roberts justified Obamacare?

Why did Democrats cheat in the 2020 elections? For control. Saul Alinsky: the end justifies the means. This was their only chance to stop the America First movement of Trump, to take control of the Senate, to "cancel" those who oppose them, to rewrite history – just as all totalitarian governments do. So Democrats cheated.

The 2020 election was their only chance to stack the deck against average working Americans. Statehood for D.C. and Puerto Rico to gain four more Democrat senators; pack the Supreme Court by expanding its size; pass election laws that guarantee more and more Democrats get elected; use stimulus money to bail out cities mismanaged by Democrats for the last 40 years; citizenship for illegal immigrants; more immigrants pouring over the border; increase government workers and families who then join SEIU and NEA and are dependent on government paychecks (now one-quarter of all American workers).

Can't imagine who paid for the T-shirts.......

“Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration. A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute. Many have criminal records, and many others have and are spreading covid. Interior enforcement has been shut down—criminals that were once promptly removed by our Administration are now being released back onto the street to commit heinous and violent crimes. ICE officers are desperate to remove these convicted criminals, but Biden won’t let them.

Glen Campbell playing the William Tell Overture and dedicating it to Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. Many people grew up watching the Lone Ranger and Tonto on television in good old black and white as well as the Glen Campbell show. I hope you enjoy the excellent guitar playing and the sounds of the orchestra as this takes you back to those days of yesteryear.

I've posted this before and hilarious it is! :) ~To hear a funny story watch The Lone Ranger Story.

Did a Nazi Submarine Attack a Chemical Plant in North Carolina?

 Via Reborn

This is the U-85, the first U-boat sunk by the U.S. in WWII. It was sunk of Nags Head, NC on April 14, 1942 in action with the USS Roper with the loss of all hands.

It’s a sizzling July day at Kure Beach. Kids in bathing suits walk barefoot along Fort Fisher Boulevard; moms and dads lug lawn chairs to the sand...

Motels with names like “The Hang Ten Grill” and “The Salty Hammock” bespeak a chilled-out lifestyle in this summer community, located 15 miles south of Wilmington, North Carolina.

But just down Atlantic Avenue, a narrow four-block-long road from Kure (pronounced “Cure-ee”) Beach Fishing Pier, an old seaside cottage bears witness to a time when things weren’t all sunshine and Cheerwine along the Carolina coast. It was here on a July night in 1943 that a German U-Boat supposedly surfaced and fired shots at a factory complex located a half-mile off shore. If the incident actually occurred—and many believe it didn’t—it would have been the only time the East Coast of the United States was attacked during the Second World War.

Dominion gets caught shorting GOP candidates

                                                                                 voting machine (digital)

"It's just like every single one of the Republicans, when they did the hand count of the paper ballots, every one of them wound up with 300 more votes," the conservative reports. Gee, what a coincidence....:)🙄

A tea party leader says he is pleased that New Hampshire officials want to thoroughly investigate voting irregularities regarding Dominion-owned voting machines.

The hand recount recently conducted for a New Hampshire state representative race in which Democrat Kristi St. Laurent came within 24 votes of winning revealed that the four Dominion-owned voting machines in the town of Windham had shorted her Republican challenger by 99 votes. Three other Republicans there were also shorted 6% by the machines that were used in 85% of towns throughout the state.

"New Hampshire was like one of the biggest successes for Republicans in the whole 2020 election," recalls Tom Zawistowski, president of the tea party-affiliated We the People Convention. "They flipped the House and the Senate in New Hampshire and really had big gains, and yet Trump still lost in a very close race."

President Trump releases fiery statement excoriating Karl Rove after Rove penned a scathing criticism of Trump’s speech at CPAC

“Karl Rove has been losing for years, except for himself. He’s a RINO of the highest order, who came to the Oval Office lobbying for 5G for him and a group. After a lengthy discussion with Rove and Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, I said no, they’re not qualified. Our Nation can do much better!” said the former president.

“Karl Rove’s voice on Fox is always negative for those who know how to win. He certainly hasn’t helped Fox in the ratings department, has he?”

The statement was meant to refute the arguments Rove made in an op-ed at the Wall Street Journal. Rove noted that the former president got explosive applause at the conference, but that only 68% of the attendees wanted him to run for president again.

Power School Wisdom

During last week’s ice storm misery, I thought a lot about my southern upbringing and the good things I’ve received from my small, poor state with a jagged past and uncertain future. I received many of these gifts from loving parents, my scamp of a grandfather, and friends, but also from enthusiastic Sunday School folks, teachers, and pearls of Power School wisdom.

The true measure of wealth is not money; so, what have I received? Simple childhood lessons that can’t be duplicated or replaced, of courtesy and caring, of giving, and helping a neighbor in need, of one on one friendships with mismatched people, even if it’s just sharing a joke with a stranger. I learned these lessons sitting in a wobbly desk on the back row of  Mrs. Whoever’s classroom. The same people who taught me to read and write also taught me to be kind, honest, and not to give up because “practice makes perfect.” They explained the golden rule, common sense, the tradition of fair play, and quoted George Washington’s cherry tree remark.  Some say “I cannot tell a lie” is a myth, but the underlying importance of telling the truth still holds. They also told the story of Honest Abe Lincoln, even though I’d seen his childhood cabin in two difference locations. There was also the terror of “it rains on the just and the unjust” a mantra repeated by one of my teachers when a single student coughed out a wad of bubble gum and we all suffered. Not quite sure what she accomplished, but I’ve never forgotten the inequity.'
