The Magnitude of Their Power

The Marxist obsession with death is striking. There is a blood lust to it. When they describe it, it is always as some form of ultimate good. Whether in the form of euthanasia, or abortion, or Obamacare death panels, they are always getting rid of those that don't fit into their humanistic, Godless society.

It is social planning that ultimately puts the figurative gun to the head of millions of citizens. We have all seen the pictures of the holocaust. The Jews were "wrecking" the ability of Germany to economically recover from World War I. The political opponents of Stalin were "wrecking" the benefits of communism by failing to produce enough for the people. Obamacare will eventually find that old people "selfishly" requiring too many services and not contributing to the treasury will be "wrecking" the health care system. Marxism always comes with an enemy, even when those enemies are as inoffensive as unborn children, the mentally handicapped or the elderly.

L. Brooks Patterson Slams Detroit: ‘The Truth Hurts . . . Tough S***’

The often outspoken Oakland County Executive is once again in hot water over comments he made about Detroit in a recent interview with “New Yorker” magazine.

L. Brooks Patterson is quoted in an article titled “Drop Dead, Detroit!” as saying he only has negative things to say about the Motor City. He made the controversial comments while giving reporter Paige Williams an extended tour of Oakland County last September.

“Anytime I talk about Detroit, it will not be positive. Therefore, I’m called a Detroit basher,” he said. ”The truth hurts, you know? Tough s***.”

The 75-year-old Republican went on to say he warned his children never to travel to Detroit.

“I used to say to my kids, ‘First of all, there’s no reason for you to go to Detroit. We’ve got restaurants out here.’ They don’t even have movie theatres in Detroit—not one,” he said.

Stop Giving Obama Radicals the Benefit of the Doubt

Via Timothy

In the Spring of 2011, National Security Council staffer Samantha Power sent emails to top Pentagon officials.  Her emails contained GPS coordinates in Libya.  She demanded that the Pentagon launch immediate air strikes on top of these coordinates, no questions asked. Power, you see, had friends in NGOs on the ground in Libya looking to borrow American might for a moment or two.

Her emails were ignored at the Pentagon.  But her cavalier and hasty email demand that American airmen be launched on a dangerous mission to benefit her friends might seem incompetent and reckless.

But like so much about the age of Obama, Republicans mistake leftist ideology for incompetence.  In the five decades-old orthodoxy of the foreign affairs left, pilots in supersonic jets with laser guided missiles are most appropriately used in small ways, and to serve small causes.  To radicals like Power, American might should be used for their political ends, and the old conventions on target selection, chains of command and strategic aims are obsolete.

Poll: Majority Believe Obama's White House is Incompetent

Surprise, surprise, surprise SGT. Carter

According to new polling from Quinnipiac, a majority of Americans view President Obama's White House as incompetent. In addition, a majority of Americans are still questioning Obama's character and view him as dishonest and untrustworthy.
The Obama administration is not competent running the government, voters say 53 - 42 percent.
The president is paying attention to what his administration is doing, 45 percent say, while 47 percent say he is not paying attention.

The president's character measures remain low:

46 percent say he is honest and trustworthy and 49 percent say he is not;
49 percent say he is a strong leader and 48 percent say he is not;
51 percent say he cares about their needs and problems and 46 percent say he does not. Olympic Terrorism

Decoding cancer-addled ramblings

Via avordvet

In my grandmother's final days battling brain cancer, she became unable to speak and she filled dozens of index cards with random letters of the alphabet. I'm beginning to think that they are the first letters in the words of song lyrics, and would love to know what song this was. This is a crazy long shot, but I've seen Mefites pull off some pretty impressive code-breaking before!

My grandmother passed away in 1996 of a fast-spreading cancer. She was non-communicative her last two weeks, but in that time, she left at least 20 index cards with scribbled letters on them. My cousins and I were between 8-10 years old at the time, and believed she was leaving us a code. We puzzled over them for a few months trying substitution ciphers, and didn't get anywhere.

My father found one of the cards the other day and I love puzzles and want to tackle the mystery again. Based on some of the repeating segments (many lines start with PST, many end with PAGA, and TYAGF repeats often at the end), I'm thinking they may be song lyrics. She inserts lots of backwards commas, and strange breaks at various points that could indicate stanzas. The back of the card has two numbered lines that contain the same letters. The letters (with line breaks to match the card) and images of the cards are below.

Mossberg 500 vs. Remington 870: We Settle the Debate Once and For All :)

We took two classic pump guns and beat the snot out them to determine which is tougher: the Mossberg 500 or the Remington 870.  Check out our Battle of the Boat Paddles.

Duck Dunk

Both shotguns were dropped from 3 feet into a clay-mud hole with the action open. They stayed submerged for one minute, and the process was repeated three times. Afterward, each shotgun was rinsed out, loaded, and shot. Both accepted shells with no problem. The Mossberg’s slide became considerably more gritty than the Remington’s, but both were up to the task. Upon firing, the Remington’s trigger stuck initially, but then it worked without flaw.

Winner: The 500, because it functioned slightly better than the 870.

Oh Boo Hoo! It Took a Murdering Rapist 26 Minutes to Die

 mcguire stewart

Anti-death penalty people are all up in arms over the execution of Dennis McGuire last week in Ohio.  A new cocktail of drugs took 26 minutes before they snuffed the life from McGuire.  The old cocktail of drugs they usually used only took 15 minutes.  Liberal bleeding hearts are crying that McGuire’s death was cruel and tortuous and that it took far too long.  They are using his example of why the death penalty should be repealed.  After all, they say, we’re far too sophisticated to stoop to such barbaric punishment as the death penalty.

I wonder if any of these people bothered to take one minute to consider 22 year old Joy Stewart.  In February 1989, Stewart was a newlywed who was expecting her first child.  She was approximately 7 months pregnant when McGuire violently raped her, then stabbed her and slit her throat and then left her body, along with that of her unborn child, in the woods to rot.  Shortly after Joy Stewart and her unborn child were murdered, Kenny Stewart, her new husband committed suicide.

Ted Nugent unloads: Obama a 'subhuman mongrel'

Rock legend and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent has launched a brand-new, blistering attack on Barack Obama and politicians of both major parties, flaying the president as a “subhuman mongrel” who is “the enemy of the U.S. military” and who should be jailed for “treasonous acts.”

“I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist raised communist educated communist nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America,” Nugent said in a Jan. 17 interview with Guns.com at the 2014 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show, or SHOT Show, in Las Vegas.

 James Schiliro

Some follow-up on Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania Mayor James Schiliro, the member of Michael Bloomberg’s anti–Second Amendment outfit “Mayors Against Illegal Guns,” who was busted after demanding homosexual favors at gunpoint:

Schiliro was sentenced to 10 to 20 months for an alcohol-fueled episode last February in which he had a police car bring a former neighbor – a 20-year-old to whom he said he was attracted – to his home, made him drink wine, and refused to let him leave for 3 1/2 hours.

During the encounter, Schiliro threatened to kill himself and fired a gun into a stack of papers. …
In November, Schiliro was convicted of recklessly endangering another person, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, official oppression, and furnishing liquor to a minor.

Man Says Sadistic Cops Shocked Him In The Genitals Until His Flesh Burned

In December 2012, 26-year-old Daniel Johnson questioned Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies about the harsh punishment they threatened against his disabled father for dropping a cigarette outside his home. In response, Johnson alleges, the officers asserted their authority by attacking his genitals.

In a lawsuit filed against the officers, Johnson claims that his father was cited for littering moments after the man dropped a cigarette outside of his home. The younger Johnson approached the officers, named “Abdulfattah” and “Russell” in the complaint, to ask why his father was told he faced a $1,000 fine and eight months of community service for an infraction as small as dropping a cigarette. The young man further asserted that his 58-year-old father suffers nerve damage to his hand, which caused him to unintentionally drop the cigarette.

According to Johnson’s complaint, his assertions were not appreciated by the officers.
“Deputy Abdulfattah responded by belligerently threatening Mr. Johnson, telling him that ‘I can write you a ticket too if you want,’” the Federal lawsuit states.

After his interaction with the officers, during which the plaintiff said he didn’t threaten, resist or raise his voice, Johnson turned to go back into the house at his mother’s request.

But the police whose authority had been questioned were allegedly unwilling to allow Johnson, who stands 5 feet 7 inches and weighs 155 pounds, to remove himself from the situation unmolested. The complaint alleges that the duo grabbed the young man before slamming him into a squad car and a concrete post.

Last month, I wrote a front-page article for Salon about the psychology of open carry, entitled “Gun rights activists have a new craze, and it’s more dangerous than you think.” The story topped Salon’s “most read” list, at one point surpassing even the “Duck Dynasty” drama and a piece about Jennifer Lawrence’s sex toys. Gun safety reform groups like the Brady Campaign and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America shared it on their respective Facebook pages, but so did the gun rights group Open Carry Texas, which called it “a fairly balanced article.”

No love for Tac-Con’s “faux auto” trigger

…I’m a bit less enthusiastic about their actual 3MR trigger system, now that I had a chance to fire it on SHOT Show’s Media Day at the Range.

I had a chance to look at how the trigger was designed and think it is a clever and well-manufactured attempt at mimicking something approaching fully automatic fire, but the simple fact of the matter is that I couldn’t get it to work. I sent two magazines worth of ammunition downrange before deciding that I was just wasting ammunition due to my shooting mechanics, which I was unwilling to compromise to get the 3MR to work.

I’ve been taught and feel comfortable with having the stock of any long gun I’m firing firmly pressed into “the pocket” where my shoulder and upper torso meet. It’s a key point of contact, and solid mechanics are, in my experience, a must in delivering accurate repeated fire to a target beyond very close range.

The only way I could see the 3MR trigger working consistently is by giving up on this technique, and having the stock rest lightly in the pocket, so that the recoil of the rifle effectively bump-fired the trigger.

A Rebel Brigadier in Vermont:

"Several occurrences which happened in Vermont during the [Winfield Scott Hancock for president] canvass afforded such good opportunities for reply to the charge of lawlessness and barbarism which Republican orators and newspapers so delighted to bring against the Southern people, that it would have been almost impossible not to take advantage of them.

One was the stripping naked and tarring of a frail woman, whose mode of life did not suit the ideas of the brave and chivalrous men who lived in her neighborhood, and who took that method of manifesting their virtuous wrath and indignation against her. Another was the murder of a little orphan girl, who was taken out at night by the woman with whom she lived and her son, and was compelled by them to take a large quantity of strychnine against her piteous protest. She died in horrible convulsions, and was left like a dead dog near the highway.

To the rising generation [of Vermont] . . . the history of slavery in this country, as a social and political fact, is very imperfectly known . . . The general idea seems to be that the inhabitants of the South were always a horrible race of people, who enslaved and tortured the poor Negro, and finally, without the least excuse or provocation, engaged in a treasonable conspiracy to destroy the government, made war on it, and after four years were conquered by the superior valor of the Republican party, who have been the principal sufferers, but who have, with unspeakable magnanimity, forgiven the great crime, and are struggling to do the criminals good continually in spite of their shameless ingratitude, which is quite a heavenly frame of mind to be in, but somewhat delusive."

Target dumps part-time employees into ObamaCare

Target dumps part-time employees into ObamaCare

It’s not surprising that discount retailer Target is canceling health coverage for its part-time employees and dumping them into the hellish ObamaCare exchanges.  It makes all the sense in the world for every employer in their position to do the same thing.  The Affordable Care Act was designed to encourage it.  And kudos to Target for giving affected employees an extra $500 apiece to help them make the transition.

I’d like to invite ObamaCare apologists to stand up and cheer as a huge corporation saves itself a pile of money by discontinuing benefits and passing those costs along to taxpayers, who will now be covering subsidies and credits for the 36,000 people Target used to insure.  There will be a lot more to come, both from this company and other employers.  Although Target insists it won’t cut anyone’s hours to push them under the 30-hour threshold and pack them off to the public exchanges, the incentives for doing so are incredibly powerful, particularly in a high-unemployment stagnant economy where it won’t be all that difficult to hire a larger number of employees to work fewer hours each.  Perhaps Target will continue to resist those incentives, but other employers might put up less of a fight.

Obama’s Legacy Is ‘Establishment of Lawlessness in United States’

 Bachmann 2012
Because he did not enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and now unilaterally adjusts the Obamacare law as it unfolds, President Barack Obama is sending a signal to liberal federal judges to mirror him and, as a result, the president’s long-term legacy will be “the establishment of lawlessness in the United States,” said Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

Bachmann also compared Obama’s actions to those of former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi – “whatever he said was law.”

Deadly Violence Hits U.S.-Mexico Border

Via Jeffery

 Border Patrol SC

Unfortunately, violent outbreaks south of the Mexico border are all too common amid battles between drug cartels and other societal breakdowns. Recently, however, these deadly attacks have begun appearing in new regions of the nation – and in frighteningly close proximity to the United States.

Intelligence Analyst Dr. Lyle Rapacki spoke with the Western Center for Journalism recently in an effort to examine an attack last weekend that left several individuals dead and even more injured.

According to information confirmed by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, automatic rifles, grenades, and .50-caliber weapons were used by battling factions early Saturday morning in the Mexican border town of Agua Prieta, just south of Douglas, Ariz.

Reports indicate between eight and 13 individuals were killed during the gunfight, which lasted from about 12:45 a.m. to just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren charges that the Obama administration tried to press her to shut down a colleague’s reporting on the jihadist attack in Benghazi, Libya, that cost the lives of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

Van Susteren asserted recently on her blog that the administration made an extensive effort to conceal what happened in Benghazi. She cited U.S. officials’ refusal to include the Fox News Channel in several Benghazi briefings along with a warning that her colleague’s career would be ruined if she persisted in her reporting on the attack.

The Fox News host recalled a “disturbing phone call from a good friend in the Obama administration” shortly after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, which the administration initially blamed on a protest of an anti-Islam video.

Twitter storm in Russia over Sochi Olympics twin toilet

That's what we had in military school.  Must freak out liberals.

BBC photo of a men's cubicle with twin toilets at a Sochi Olympics venue has caused a Twitter storm in Russia.

The picture from the Biathlon Centre tweeted by Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg was picked up by opposition leader Alexei Navalny among others.

Mr Navalny queried how the budget for the games, said to be $50bn (£30bn; 1,700bn roubles), had been spent.

Elsewhere, the photo caused disbelief and much hilarity, with some linking it to the recent debate over gay rights.

NC: Chapel Hill leaders question gun law; proponents threaten to sue

 Grass Roots N.C. Website

A child is shot in this country every 30 minutes." Kaaren Haldeman, leader of the North Carolina chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, is addressing an unusually reticent Chapel Hill Town Council.

"While we've been sitting here, a child has been shot and killed," says Haldeman, whose group advocates for tighter gun control laws. "Accidents, negligence, intentional shootings. More guns in more places mean more gun injury and death."

Haldeman's pointed statements come moments after a representative for Raleigh-based gun activists Grass Roots N.C. promised to sue the Town of Chapel Hill if officials opt out of several ordinance changes that would align town code with North Carolina's controversial new gun law.

Passed last year by a Republican majority in the N.C. General Assembly, the law took effect Oct. 1, 2013. It limits a municipality's ability to prohibit people with valid conceal-carry permits from bringing handguns to public spaces, including parks and greenways. As of now, town ordinances do just that. But a draft ordinance distributed at the meeting opens up 17 public spaces, including local playgrounds, to permit holders.

Wow! This story is still up, and the facts are still not being told. 24 March 1944: Betty June Binnicke, age 11, and Mary Emma Thames, age 7 of Alcolu, South Carolina, asked George Stinney and his sister Katherine where they might find some "maypops" an edible passionflower that grew wild. That was the last time they were seen alive. A search involving the entire town of mill workers ensued. The girls bodies were found in a muddy brook near the railroad tracks. They both had severe mortal injuries; openly fractured skulls.

George Stinney's OWN GRANDMOTHER turned him in to the police. He confessed to killing both girls and led detectives to the crime scene, he also uncovered the murder weapon, a railroad spike, that he had.

 *****************************

A 14-year-old black boy executed nearly 70 years ago is finally getting another day in court, and his lawyers plan to argue Tuesday for a new trial, saying his conviction was tainted by the segregationist-era justice system and scant evidence.

George Stinney was found guilty in 1944 of killing two white girls, ages 7 and 11. The trial lasted less than a day in the tiny Southern mill town of Alcolu, separated, as most were in those days, by race.

NC: Grand jury declines to indict officer in shooting of unarmed man

Via Jeffery

A grand jury in North Carolina Tuesday declined to indict a Charlotte police officer for voluntary manslaughter in the shooting of an unarmed man this past September.

The Charlotte Observer reported that the panel instead asked prosecutors to submit a lesser charge against Officer Randall Kerrick in a handwritten note from the foreperson. North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper instead said that he would request the indictment again on the grounds that some members of the grand jury were apparently missing.

"It would be in the best interest of justice to resubmit this case to a full grand jury, which we plan to do as soon as possible," Cooper said in a statement. A spokeswoman for Cooper's office did not say how many members of the grand jury were not present Tuesday. A typical grand jury has 18 members, with 12 votes needed to hand down an indictment.

Dark Enlightenment: the second stage

Via Matthew
http://www.moreright.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/darkenlightenment.png

We appear to have passed the "Ridicule" stage of the counterreaction to what some are calling "The Dark Enlightenment". This is apparent because now, it's not only our direct enemies on the godless equalitarian Left that are attacking us, but mealy-mouthed equalitarian Christian quislings are attempting to establish their credibility as Left-friendly moderates by joining in on the fun:

What's the Dark Enlightenment? Basically, it’s a de-Christianized form of right wingery that is drinking deep of white supremacy and racialism. Sometimes, it appeals to something called “Western” Christianity, but this is basically a fig leaf for getting discernment-free conservatives to jettison actual Christian teaching in favor of nutty white supremacy by rhetoric about how Euro-superiority makes it plain that the whole “in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek” race indifference is a huge mistake.

Other times, it daubs on a layer of pseudo-science by tossing around the phrase “human biodiversity” (by which they mean “some races are inferior to others”).

And not infrequently, some of its adherents ditch so much as the figleaf of Christianity (since Christianity really is irreconcilable with racism) and openly promotes bullshit “northern” neo-paganism as they get in touch with their inner Himmlers. Because everybody knows that the people who erected standing stones as their highest achievement were just about to usher in a golden age when they were rudely interrupted by brown ruffians named Augustine and St. Paul and Plato who tamed their manly Nordic creativity with their ethnically impure southern barbarism.

A man who loved the outdoors was carried to his grave in a boat pulled by a truck on Wednesday. The casket of 78-year-old Ronald Bloss Sr. was... loaded onto a small motor boat and trailer and pulled to a cemetery by a pickup truck driven by one of his five sons. Bloss loved hunting, fishing and spending time on rivers with his many boats, so family members came up with the idea of using one for his final journey.
