Study authors, British Professor Angus Dalgleish and Norwegian scientist Dr Birger Sorensen, claim Beijing manufactured the virus in a Wuhan lab and concealed it by "reverse engineering" its variants. China has consistently rejected lab leak theory.

Chinese scientists created coronavirus in a lab and then tried to conceal it by "reverse engineering" variants of the deadly virus to make it appear as if it developed from bats, claims a new study reported by the Daily Mail.

Covid-19, which emerged in China in late 2019, has killed 3.34 million people, cost the world trillions of dollars in lost income and upended normal life for billions of people.

Private Security Isn't Enough: Why America Needs Militias

 minuteman

The American empire is falling. The only way the federals can keep order is by turning citizen against citizen, deploying the National Guard to Washington, and surely deploying it to your city, too, if you get out of line. But as the American empire falls, let us rediscover perhaps the best American tradition of all—the patriot with the gun and the good sense to choose his family and community over the blandishments of the rapacious state.

In late May we learned that, after a five-month deployment to one of the most dangerous cities in the world, the American military would finally be going home.

Well, not really. They already were home. The dangerous warzone was the American federal capital, Washington, DC. And the “danger” that the military was supposed to be countering was entirely government made. The military—the National Guard—was on a mission to “secure the capital” after a few hundred rowdies had a Jacksonian moment on Capitol Hill. People who obviously had no plan beyond their afternoon tear through the halls of Congress were somehow presented as an existential threat to the American government, and so the statists in Washington ordered the National Guard to remain deployed. Apparently, the guy who stole a piece of stationery from Nancy Pelosi’s office in January was so terrifying that it took thousands of troops to make sure he didn’t come back and do it again.

Academy of Southern Music

The Scotch Snap is an identifiably unique rhythm heard originally in Scottish strathspeys, and here is an example of a strathspey called Tha Mi Sgith that is loaded with Scotch Snap rhythms.  You only need to go about 60 seconds to get the idea.

In order to hear Scotch Snap rhythms applied to lyrics, then listen to this Dusty Springfield classic called Wishin and Hopin from 1964.

My name is Tom Daniel, and I’m a happy guy.  I’m naturally optimistic, and I love talking about all the good things that come from the South.  I get discouraged when I see Southerners who keep falling into that same trap where they only want to talk about the years 1861-1865.  When there are 400 years of Southern culture to celebrate, why do we keep limiting ourselves to just four of them?  And my favorite Southern topic to talk about is MUSIC, because what my Yankee friends call “American Music” is actually “Southern Music.”  Make no mistake, AMERICAN MUSIC IS SOUTHERN MUSIC.

The Civil War and Just War Doctrine

 Via Mike

File:F.O.C. Darley and Alexander Hay Ritchie - Sherman's March to the Sea.jpg

The Nineteenth Century concept of Just War was derived principally from Biblical roots, but both Greek and Roman thought and especially Roman experience undoubtedly influenced Augustine (354-430 AD) in what is generally recognized as the first systematic treatment of Christian doctrine as it applies to the State, its citizens, and its soldiers in time of war. First of all, Augustine recognized that war is often a necessity to defend the State and its citizens from aggressive enemies and that Christians may justly bear arms in that defense. Categorical pacifism is unrealistic, unloving, and unbiblical. Moreover, isolationism is often short-sighted and unwise, and may result in war and excuse callous abandonment of loyal allies to tyranny and tragic human slaughter.

Augustine outlined three main criteria for a just war: it must be initiated by properly constituted authority (Congress, in the case of the United States), it must be for a just cause, and it must be conducted by just means. To Augustine, a just end to war should be a just peace. Who then determines what are proper authority, just cause, and just means? Augustine’s answer: God, as revealed in Scripture. Practically, those who constitute proper authority decide these issues on behalf of the citizenry, but these authorities are also ultimately accountable to God and therefore the teachings of Scripture. Thomas Aquinas and many others since have attempted to flesh out a more comprehensive Just War Theory, but the tragedy of war always generates many ethical loose ends.

SCV begins exhuming Nathan Bedford Forrest's remains, removing them from Memphis

Via SHNV

The Sons of Confederate Veterans work to exhume the remains of General Nathan Bedford Forrest from Health Sciences Park Tuesday, June 1, 2021. The remains will be transferred to the National Confederate Museum, on private land in Columbia, Tenn.

A construction crew Tuesday began removing the empty monument pedestal under which the remains of Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife Mary Ann are buried.

The removal of the pedestal is the first part of removing the remains themselves, which ultimately will be reinterred in Columbia, Tennessee at the National Confederate Museum at Elm Springs.

Lee Millar of the Sons of Confederate Veterans told The Commercial Appeal that the removal began Tuesday morning and would take two to three weeks. He declined to identify the contracting crew doing the work.

Watch: Judge Brown Goes Off on Kamala Harris, Calls Her a ‘Corrupt Witch’

During an interview with former NBA player Kwame Brown on a YouTube Livestream, Judge Joe Brown did not hold back his words about Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

Brown, a former television personality who hosted an arbitration-based reality court show, went off on Biden for racism and past remarks denigrating black children.

The Judge also took a shot at Kamala Harris for “sleeping her way to the top.”

Back when, the Army had 'Garrison First Sergeants' and 'Field Firsts'.  The Garrison guys were the Admin types with a key to the Log Train.

At Fort Stewart, Polk, Bragg, Gordon, Bliss, you would see them handling all the Garrison chores, details, discipline, schedules, supply all the minutae that keeps the Army ticking.  At those same places, you'd see the Field First out in the mud with the boys, training, Training and, TRAINING.  Only one wore the stripes and he was the Garrison guy.  Field Firsts might be SSGT, PSGT, or SFC.  "TOP" usually referred to the Field First, being the Top Soldier in the Company.  He was usually a guy who'd been everywhere, done all of it, and at his best in the Field. He didn't talk discipline, he WAS discipline.  But he took care of his troops.  Privates could talk to him, he could joke, or fall on you like the Needle.

The politics was the Field First had all Tactical authority, the Garrision had all Admin and Post Responsibility.  Field Firsts stood Duty NCO in the Company and handled the orderly room at night or weekends.  Usually Field Firsts would become the Garrison First after some time working up.  He was our equivalent of the Company Gunny in the Marines. Progression was Ass't Squad Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Guide, Platoon Sergeant, and whichever path the Captain chose for you.  Field or Fussybutt.

Now, the Army has adopted centralized everything and First Sergeants are expected to have degrees, be politically astute, personable, and complicit in all the Diversity bullshit.  They get all kinds of management and business training and have a professional persona.  You'll never see 1st Sgt kick
a Soldier's ass any more.  He's had the SJW orientation.  No more 'Wall to Wall Counseling' from him. (PLTSGT may do some attitude adjustment)

All my NCO’s were Vietnam vets.  Some of the officers, and all the WO’s.  Everything they taught me, I taught my guys as I went up.   AFAIK, I was the last, or one of the last of the old school GM’s that knew and used “Bosn Hole Justice”.  Since then, it’s just like you said, be nice, politically savvy, etc. What horseshit….
