The British government is warning that people who receive the vaccines appear to have a less complete immune response to Sars-Cov-2 after infection.
Maybe even more concerning, scientists now have found evidence the vaccines may produce worrisome longer-term changes in the immune system.

Virginia’s Democrat Party sued the Post Office last week in Richmond’s Federal District Court saying the handling of absentee ballots may deprive thousands of their right to vote. Democrats bemoan the possible impact on the outcome of Tuesday’s extremely tight race to elect Virginia’s next Governor.
Faced with the prospect of losing the top job in a state that has been trending bluer with each election cycle, Democrats appear to be laying the groundwork for potential legal recourse to dispute a Republican win. In shades reminiscent of former United States President Donald Trump, Democrats allege that up to 300,000 mail-in ballots may be impacted by a slow-down in mail handling. Unlike Trump, however, they are not waiting until after the election to file legal action claiming election irregularities.

Bayard, later United States Secretary of State, considered the military occupation of New Orleans to be an unconstitutional usurpation of power and a direct assault on republican government. before that the VNAF pilots were like kids with new playtoys when we
sent them back up near the end, after the ***Skyraiders had been

Really impressive. They have an **A-37 Dragonfly on display at the War
Museum in Saigon. They also had a Huey there and they would rent you a
flak jacket and helmet, so you could get a picture taken behind the
doorgun. Vietnamese Communists!
It was still called the Museum of American War Crimes in 1992 when I
went there, so I wore my T-shirt with a picture of the Soldier's Statue
in DC on it with the three soldiers, and the words "Vietnam,
We Were Right Then, We Are Right Now, We Have Always Been Right" and a
large American Flag on the back. Kerry's picture was indeed in there,
though it was removed when he ran for President, I read.BT)

That's precisely true,and well-said. I am a
historian and know whereof I speak, as I have been inside the belly of
the beast, so to speak.
Slavery is a human institution, once
found in all places and times and cultures; wherever humans were, there
was bondage and slavery also. Yet, when one reads an academic text on
it, of the kind used in many history departments to teach our young
people, there is no mention of that - or scant mention of it. Instead,
it is invariably a littany of sins specifically of European civilization
and the United States, i.e., the West. They call it in leftist circles,
"The Atlantic Slave Trade," meaning that their courses and books leave
out anything that happened in most of Africa, the Middle East, Asia or
the rest of the world.
These books and course also conveniently
omit the fact that Muslims are the greatest slavers in history, meaning
that they have taken (as captives), bought, sold and owned more slaves
than anyone else in human history. Few westerners know it, but slavery
was only outlawed in much of the Arab world starting only in the 1960s,
and the last Islamic nations of Africa to render slavery a crime,
Muritania, did so in the 21st century.
What is also left unsaid
and untold is that two western nations, specifically the U.K. and the
U.S., did the most to eradicate slavery in the Christian/non-Muslim
world over the last two centuries.
Slavery is still common in
the Islamic world, only now it is practiced more-discreetly and quietly
so as not to offend or embarrass the Arab's oil business partners or the
tourists coming to those new resorts in Dubai, UAE, or the like.
You
are also quite correct that older texts are more-reliable and free of
the crippling and ridiculous ideological cant now found in so many
modern works. If you want to learn something new, read an old book!

IN MEMORY OF Lieutenant NGUYEN MANH DUNG (VNAF's 516th Fighter Squadron)
1946 - April 30, 1975
In 1970, Lt. Nguyen was assigned to the 516th Fighter Squadron,
1st Air Division in Da Nang after completing flight training in the US.
He was one of the last Vietnamese fighter pilots who flew the A-37B
Dragonfly to fight courageously against the advancing North Vietnamese
troops (NVAs) with T-54 tanks just before Saigon was overrun.
In
1972, his A-37B was shot down by anti-aircraft fire while he provided
aerial fire support to ground units (the South VN Marines). However, he
managed to bail out to safety, during the NVAs Easter Offensive.
On March 28, 1975, while Da Nang air base was in chaos, he was assigned
to reinforce the 6th Air Division in Pleiku and later, in Phu Cat. This
air base was evacuated thereafter.
In mid-April, 1975, Lt.
Nguyen's new assignment was to regroup into the 526th Fighter Squadron,
4th Air Division in Binh Thuy, Can Tho. He continued to follow orders
from his superiors, and as always, flew into the hottest battle zones,
to destroy the NVAs.
In April 30, 1975, at about 09:30AM -
10:00AM, he took off in his A-37B fighter from Binh Thuy air base with
First Lt. Dong on his right for their last mission: Destroy the enemy's
T-54 tanks that were on the way to attack Hoang Hoa Tham camp and Bay
Hien. As usual, Lt. Nguyen did this in tandem with his FAC, L.19 spotter
plane, the Hoa Mi 93. This plane acted as an advance scout for Lt.
Nguyen's plane, spotting targets for him to bomb. Piloted by Capt. Mai
Tri Dung, and First Lt. Bien, 122 OS, the Hoa Mi 93 had taken off a
short time earlier from Dong Tam airport in My Tho. This was one of the
last heroic missions of the South VN Air Force, which was once the
fourth largest air force in the world.
After landing at Binh Thuy
air base, Lt. Nguyen and Second Lt. Dong were stunned by news that
Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam had surrendered bitterly. By then,
the streets of Saigon, Can Tho and all of the cities of SVN, were
blanketed with chaotic masses of people, all trying to find a way to
escape the advancing NVAs. Lt. Nguyen then decided to take off again for
the last time, with his beloved friend, the A-37B Dragonfly.
On this final flight, he ascended into the sky with a fuel tank nearing empty. Nobody has known of his fate since.
Lt. Nguyen, together with many SVN soldiers, was chosen to take a stand
and defend our beloved country to the death. He and many others could
have left the country and fled to Thailand, Singapore, or the
Philippines, like so many did in those final days. They did not. They
went above and beyond the Duty, sacrificing their lives for our country.

On “Southern” Slavery
It has become fashionable to bash the South – not only by removing war memorials or looking the other way as they are vandalized, but even in discussions of things like slavery. It’s never just slavery; it’s Southern slavery. The existence of slavery in the North has been whitewashed and sent down the memory hole.
Frankly, most of our American history as we learn it in school – especially in recent decades – is court history. It is a narrative. In the age of political correctness, our American history has been rewritten, often by Socialists and extreme leftists who have a Marxist (Economic or Cultural) agenda. Often the best history books are the older texts. And the very best ones are based on the original sources themselves – the compilation of which is painstaking and a great exercise in patience.

New National Parks Guideline Advises We Avoid the Term ‘Americans’

If you thought the “cancel culture” movement was bad, just wait until you hear this story. On Tuesday, the nation’s leading parks nonprofit released a lengthy guide on how to speak in “woke” terms. The written diatribe included tips like this: avoid using the term “Americans.” It also gave details about how to keep the term “white” lowercase, but that the term “Black” should be capitalized.

The Tarheel State’s largest teachers’ association is led by a high school history teacher called Bryan Proffitt. Sounds normal, except Proffitt is a “revolutionary” communist working for the Chinese-affiliated group Liberation Road.
Formed in 1970, the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) claims to be “the ONE VOICE of educators,” but the group also represents school employees (bus drivers, janitors, cafeteria workers), retired teachers, as well “student members.” According to think tank Civitas, NCAE has roughly 29K members and rakes in revenues of $8.3 million per year.

George Will writes what amounts to a review of Allen C. Guelzo’s biography, Robert E. Lee: A Life in the Washington Post. The review and apparently the book are disparaging of Lee. Considering who Lee was and the fruitful historical mindsets who have lionized him, both black and white: (Churchill, Eisenhower, both Roosevelts as well as Booker T, Washington to name but a few) it is no small wonder that an old tired reader-less student like Will would cast irreverence (more like comedic) at Lee.

15 Things That Reportedly Went Wrong on Alec Baldwin’s Deadly ‘Rust’ Set
Last week, on the set of the Western Rust, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, a 42-year-old wife and mother. The projectile (that we assume was a bullet) went into her chest, came out her back, and hit the shoulder of Joel Souza, the 48-year-old director. Souza thankfully recovered.
Since the shooting, there have been many reports of everything that went wrong on that set. Unfortunately, there has also been a concerted media and public relations effort to treat Baldwin not only as blameless but as a victim.
While I don’t disagree Baldwin is, in a tragic way, a victim, it is also true that he may be a victim of his own negligence and/or recklessness. Like a driver who takes his eyes off the road to text, Baldwin certainly did not mean to kill anyone, and we have to feel for a man who’s going to have to live with such a thing. Nevertheless, his behavior might have contributed to this avoidable tragedy.

The need for self-defense is imminent. Just because there’s no one at the door threatening to break it in, doesn’t mean the home isn’t under assault. They’ve just found better ways of getting into the house, of surveilling those inside, of punishing someone for their private thoughts. Are you being punished? Are you being denied employment even with ten million open jobs? This is not the same type of war that has been engaged in before. How long before one’s demand for civil and human rights is cause for punishment? Right now. It’s government policy to do it and there’s minions to carry it out.
No matter what the government and its cohorts in the woke corporate environment are doing, it gets worse. When the winter comes and there’s a couple of million newly-arrived illegals roaming about, demanding food and shelter, demanding that governments take food from your mouths and give it to them, we’ll see. When Biden’s infrastructure bill and budget bill drive hyperinflation (think Venezuela) and all of your savings buys one last sack of groceries, we’ll see.

The latest Democratic spin attempt to smear concerned parents who are battling local school boards is unraveling rather quickly.
In my Morning Briefing for Tuesday, I wrote that the Democrats and their flying monkeys in the mainstream media had shifted from calling parents “domestic terrorists” to assuring everyone that their worries about what their children are being taught in school are nothing more than phony political outrage. I’ve been saying for several weeks that I don’t think the Democrats really thought this one through, and a couple of things happened a few hours after that Briefing was posted that would indicate this to be so.

First I've seen this.
In the late 1980s, when telemarketing was at it is peak, a company called our home during dinner. I picked up the phone and handed it to my dad. This is what we heard him say:
"I'm not interested."
"No. No, thank you."

And then he hung up. My mom and I looked at each other, and then him, with looks of incredulity. He explained that it was a company selling life insurance.

At the University of Virginia, Room No.13 on the fabled Lawn is reserved as a permanent shrine to Edgar Allan Poe, who reportedly lodged in the room during his brief time on campus (or “the grounds,” as we say). A Private Secession, Perhaps One of Many
Herewith a tale of a personal secession and how
it came about. It is possible (though unlikely) that some will not be
interested in my fascinating mental states. I think, though, that
numbers may share them without admitting it. Since many are talking if
only wistfully about secession from the Union, and worry that they are
no longer where they were a few decades back, even though they haven’t
gone anywhere, I offer some thoughts that may resonate.
Time was, you could be fond of America. It wasn’t perfect, as no
country is, but you could like it. I am not speaking of patriotism,
which usually means a loutish jingoism, but rather a sense of place, a
fondness for a region and a people.
This I had. I am, in a sense that surprises me, a Southerner. I didn’t
think of myself this way until recently. It didn’t seem to matter.
At about age four I lived a year in Biloxi, Mississippi while my father
taught some math course at Keesler AFB, then five in Robert E. Lee
Elementary in Arlington, Va., then two in Athens, Alabama, five in rural
King George County, Virginia, and four in Hampden-Sydney College, which
my Venable ancestors founded, in Prince Edward County, Virginia.

In a House hearing on Thursday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) questioned AG Merrick Garland about a mysterious man, Ray Epps, instructing protesters to enter the US Capitol building on January 5, and who later shepherded crowds towards the Capitol on January 6.
The story of the mystery man, Ray Epps, featured in Rep. Massie’s video above is in fact far more shocking than even the good Congressman implies in the hearing. A local ICU physician – who fought the Covid pandemic on the front lines for 18 months – is out of a job after refusing to get the vaccine.
Dr. Mollie James said she was employed at two health systems in the Midwest, including in St. Louis, for much of the pandemic. She was also splitting her time between local hospitals and one in New York.
