Absolutely unbelievable: Newborn Seized in Hospital by Police, Social Worker

Pissed off, to say the least.

The first time I heard about the way Jodie Ferris was treated by a hospital, social worker, and police on the day she gave birth, I was absolutely livid. We cannot let these kinds of invasions of parental rights go unchallenged.

I am not content to sit on the sidelines while the government gradually usurps the very essence of parental rights. I hope you share my determination. We need to stand with people like Scott and Jodi Ferris (obviously no relation to someone named Farris). Here’s their story:

Jodi went into labor a bit earlier than she had expected—and the baby was coming rapidly. Given their location and other factors, the midwife they had hoped would deliver the baby at their home encouraged them to get in an ambulance and head to the hospital.

Their baby, whom I will call “Annie,” was born in the ambulance in the parking lot of the Hershey Medical Center—a government hospital in Pennsylvania. Hospital personnel arrived very quickly and took charge of both baby and mom.

As any mother would do, Jodi immediately began to ask the nurses and attendants how her baby was doing. The hospital staff was utterly unresponsive. When they started to give Jodi an injection, she asked what it was and what it was for. They gave her vague answers like, “It’s just to help.” Only after giving her the injection of oxytocin did they tell her what it was and then asked, “You aren’t allergic to that are you?”

Jodi persisted in asking about Annie. No one would tell her anything other than “she’s in good hands and you’ll be able to see her soon.”

How Many Crimes Did the New Black Panthers Commit in Florida?

When New Black Panther Mikhail Muhammad called for the mobilization of a 10,000-strong black male mob to capture George Zimmerman, we glimpsed into the depths of racial depravity of the organization. “An eye for an eye,” Muhammad threatened. A cash bounty for Zimmerman, “dead or alive,” provided a nasty incentive for thugs across the land.

But did a crime occur in the New Black Panther Party’s call for mob vengeance against Zimmerman? Quite possibly.

I’ve been familiar with this crowd since the day President Obama was elected when I worked at the Department of Justice. Soon after election day 2008, I and other attorneys would bring a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers. The Obama administration famously dismissed the case. Afterwards, I and another DOJ lawyer testified under oath about the hostility within the Obama DOJ to bringing cases against defendants like the NBPP. Nobody has ever contradicted the specifics of our testimony, or the details in my book Injustice, which describes, among other things, Eric Holder’s personal involvement in the Panther case dismissal.

Now Florida officials may have a chance to do what Eric Holder refused to do — bring these New Black Panther gangsters to justice once and for all.

Here's a simple wood burning trail stove for morning coffee or tea. Or for a quick hot breakfast. Remus puts up vacuum-packed single servings of quick oats mixed with brown sugar and powdered milk. Add water and bring to a boil, it's good to go. Building a morning campfire is overkill unless it's otherwise needed, and if it is, this little unit can be lit off and be heating a morning's repast while he's doing it.

The Democratic Party or The Society for the Preservation of Racism

When Barack Obama asserted – in advance of a jury trial or grand jury investigation, let alone a completed police investigation – that he identified with young Trayvon Martin, the black teenager shot and killed in Florida, it was an extraordinarily reactionary moment with possible ramifications of interference with the justice system.

But it was not surprising.

Republicans and Their Chief Stockholders

The age of big business was ushered in with the War Between the States and Ulysses S. Grant was the perfect ornament to crown the victorious Republican party in 1868, though he narrowly won the presidency and only through the votes of newly-enfranchised slaves in the subjugated Southern States. Grant and future Republican presidents were selected to keep the marriage of government and big business in power, and at all costs.

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
www.ncwbts150.com
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Republicans and Their Chief Stockholders:

“The new captains of industry who now headed great corporate groups organized for manufacture and transport were little concerned with the majesty of government. They asked only that it guarantee them the right to embrace whatever opportunity they chose and whenever the opportunity presented itself. The “weakness” of the government – save for its military strength in the South – was a boon, making for a capitalist paradise, while the increasing strength of the [Republican] party organization, for all its bureaucratic corruption, cost little and was an immense convenience.

To be sure, the expansion of capitalist enterprise more and more touched points where the general interest was involved, where matters of special public privilege, franchises, or rights of way entered into the speculative designs of the rising class of super-businessmen. At these points, the highly centralized party institution, with its branches in each State, could be turned quickly to account; the big enterpriser need not concern himself with masses of voters, but could go directly to the managers of the party institution and treat with them plainly, or ever speak “sharply” to them. For though they did not partake of the active management of parties, the industrial barons were more than ever, as [William H.] Seward had said, “chief stockholders in the concern.”

The ruling party, when on March 4, 1873, its titular head and chief ornament, Ulysses S. Grant, delivered his [second] inaugural address, was more powerful than ever as a vote-gathering and patronage organization. It was also more disposed to use this power without stint. The more affluent and successful a party, the less it heeds its most conservative counselors. Disturbing rumors suggested nowadays that the senatorial oligarchy intended to keep “Caesar” Grant perpetually on the throne.

Emboldened by long rule, the professionals committed excesses and crimes, whose costs were chiefly borne by the wealthiest patrons of the party itself. Certain public frauds [as in] the affair of the Tweed Ring in New York, would go too far and bring retribution. Then, this done, a new series of frauds would sprout quickly: Post Office rings, in place of Whiskey rings, or land-jobbing operations in place of post-office schemes. Prominent citizens who made complaint Senator [Roscoe] Conkling or Senator [Simon] Cameron would encounter only a shrug of the shoulders, a laugh.

Important business groups were also irked by the political compromises of the Republicans upon the harassing currency question, and by their misrule in the South, which was “bad for business” and kept the whole region in poverty. Yet the Republican managers insisted upon these tactics, lest they lose their legislative majority – and what then would befall the Pacific railroads or the protected iron trade?

The great financiers and industrial captains who were “silent partners” of the ruling party, though profiting from the complaisance of their allies, often groaned at their wasteful blunderings; other moneyed groups in the competitive society, who were less privileged, were tormented by the rankling sense of the injustice they suffered from the political friends of their rivals. Coveting similar privileges, rather than an end of the corrupt system, they too created friction.”

How the Cherokee Fought the Civil War

Via SHNV

March 7 and 8 marked the 150th anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Pea Ridge, fought in northwest Arkansas near the Oklahoma border. Victory at Pea Ridge was important for the Union Army, which was trying to defend Western states, such as Kansas and Missouri. This battle was also significant because it saw the biggest engagement of American Indian soldiers in the war, with almost 1,000 of the 16,500 Confederates who fought there.

The battlefield is now managed by the National Park Service (NPS) as Pea Ridge National Military Park. Because the Trail of Tears also goes through the park, there are two big Indian stories for the NPS to tell here. The park service has recently updated its exhibits on both topics; the original exhibits dated to 1963 and did not mention the Trail of Tears at all. The new exhibits reflect both changes in the NPS and its ongoing consultation with the Cherokee Nation.

The Five Civilized Tribes (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole nations) allied with the Confederacy early in the Civil War. The Cherokees were the last to join this alliance because of internal political divisions between Principal Chief John Ross and his long-standing rival, Stand Watie. Watie had become the leading figure of the faction that signed the Treaty of New Echota in 1835, which forced the Cherokee Nation to move to Indian Territory (modern Oklahoma). Ross and an overwhelming majority of the population had opposed this removal. The rivalry was bitter, and there were political murders on both sides in the 1830s and 1840s.

A defense of Southern memoirs

Robert K. Krick, author and Civil War historian, assails critics of Confederate officers’ accounts

Civil War historian Robert K. Krick is a careful scholar. He loves primary sources—documents written by participants at the time—since memory sometimes plays tricks with the facts.

But he’s had it with fellow historians who’ve dismissed swaths of memoirs written by Confederate military officers as unreliable.

Krick, who lives in Fredericksburg, let fly those feelings during a daylong, statewide symposium hosted Thursday by the Virginia Military Institute’s Center for Leadership & Ethics.

He and Penn State professor Carol Reardon led a panel on “Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia,” held at the Virginia Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission’s 2012 Signature Conference.

Krick, retired chief historian of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, mounted a vigorous defense of Confederate memoirs as valuable historical sources. He decried modern writers who appear to distrust such accounts as tainted by “Lost Cause” mythology.

One “inane strain” of that criticism, he said, holds that Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee wasn’t really so popular among his troops and Southern citizens at the time.

Surprise: Wisconsin Journalists, Judges Signed Walker Recall Petitions

Via Don

Let's start with the judges, since their story is slightly older news:

Twenty-nine Wisconsin circuit court judges were among the thousands to sign recall petitions against Gov. Scott Walker, a Gannett Wisconsin Media analysis has found. Dane County Judge David Flanagan drew scrutiny after issuing a temporary restraining order March 6 against a Walker-backed voter ID law without disclosing his support of the recall, but the analysis shows that judges in 15 other counties also signed petitions, including Door County Circuit Judge D. Todd Ehlers. Walker supporters were outraged that Flanagan did not disclose his apparent conflict and filed ethics complaints against the judge. However, judges who signed the petition and agreed to interviews defended their decision as constitutionally protected and not explicitly banned by the Wisconsin Code of Judicial Conduct.
One judge tried to make the argument that his action was non-partisan. Again, this man is a judge:

I wasn’t advocating for any political party,” said County Judge Mark Warpinski. “I was advocating for the recall process, which I thought was completely separate and apart.”

None of this impressed the editorialists at The Northwestern, who lamented the extreme politicization of Wisconsin's judiciary:

Deconstructing The MSM Trayvon Martin Narrative

Free Republic
VERBATIM POST

MYTH: George Zimmerman disobeyed orders not to pursue Trayvon Martin

REALITY: After being told, "you don't have to do that," when Zimmerman answered that he was pursuing Martin, Zimmerman quit pursuing him. The 911 respondent asked because he could hear Zimmerman breathing heavily as he was running. After Zimmerman agrees to stop pursuit, his breath immediately returns to nomal. (Recordings are available on Wikipedia.)

MYTH: Martin was fleeing from Zimmerman when he was shot. Jesse Jackson alleged Martin was shot in the back of the head; former Governor Jeb Bush characterized Martin as "someone who has turned their back."

REALITY: Martin was on top of Zimmerman, pummeling his head into the concrete. Witnesses confirmed this, but police didn't need to take their word. Martin had considerable amounts of his own blood on him, having received a broken nose, and multiple lacerations to the back of the head. Zimmerman's assertion that Martin came up to him is unproven, but uncontradicted.

MYTH: Are you serious? A little kid like Martin couldn't possibly have attacked and pummeled Zimmerman!

REALITY: The photos released by the family of Martin were several years old. The "little kid" was 6-foot-three, much lighter than Zimmerman, but towering over him.

MYTH: Martin should have retreated.

REALITY: That Martin had already evaded Zimmerman is made plain by Zimmerman's call to the police. So how did they end up in another encounter? Zimmerman complained that Martin attacked him. What's the alternative theory? That Zimmerman pulled his gun on a fleeing Martin? If so, how did they end up brawling? That Zimmerman was so much faster than Martin, despite being several inches shorter and much pudgier than him, that he caught up to Martin despite Martin's fleeing? More likely, Martin waited until Zimmerman was off the phone with police, and then ambushed him, as Zimmerman alleges.

MYTH: No matter what, Zimmerman didn't need to kill Martin.

REALITY: Zimmerman's head was being smashed on the concrete. He's probably somewhat lucky he's not a drooling vegetable. Even so, Zimmerman claims the gun came out because Martin had tried to take it from him. This is consistent with the state of the gun as it was found: The chamber was empty, despite the gun being fully loaded, apart from the one round which killed Martin. This suggests that something prevented the bullet from being replaced in the chamber, as would likely have happen if Martin had been grabbing the barrel.

MYTH: Martin was just an innocent kid, who had never been in trouble.

REALITY: Martin had received a lengthy suspension from school; he was a likely drug dealer. Martin certainly didn't deserve to be killed for criminality. But he was suspended when the school found him with an empty baggie containing traces of marijuana. The fact that he was not high actually hurts his case, since it means that the marijuana was likely dealt to someone, rather than having been for personal use.

MYTH: Zimmerman was simply a racist, Republican, tea-party white supremacist with no reason to confront Martin.

REALITY: Zimmerman, an Hispanic registered Democrat, son of Virginia judge, and trained in law enforcement, was patrolling the area due to a rash of thefts. Martin was seen shortly after dark, on a warm night, wearing a darkly colored, hooded sweatshirt, not the "angel white" hoodie that's been in the press. He did not confront Martin, but did attempt to approach Martin, before Martin, at first, ran away.

MYTH: This would never have happened, if not for Florida's gun rights.

REALITY: If Zimmerman had been unarmed, maybe he would never have been so bold as to attract Martin's ire, but maybe he would have ended up dead, as that tends to happen when your head slams into concrete too many times.

MYTH: Boy, the media blew it.

REALITY: The media might not have been aware of how soundly its race-baiting narrative would be disproven, but they certainly knew Martin was no longer the little kid that he was in the photos they still use, and that Zimmerman was not the white supremacist they made him out to be. They knew that Jackson's and Bush's characterizations were false, but published them without correction. They harped on the fact that Martin was "unarmed," but made no mention of the brawl, which renders that fact senseless.

They will find to rue that day... yes they will

Blame it on the villain in the street
Truth is they wanna heard us like sheep

Just getting started, I ain't done
Come on, bring it on
Step right up and get yourself some
Come on, bring it on
Seen you before, ain't gonna run

Standin' right here, come get you some

We hold our rights and values dear
Your laws don't mean nuthin to us here

Cane pole and Crossman in my hands was all I need to be growed up
Home made ice cream and BBQ and the family on Friday nights
Ten lane ramp on Saturday right before the morning light

There came a time I's old enough and learned about the gun
And every night at suppertime I'd answer to what I'd done
Folks today plum forgot about the way it used to be
Got no respect and no cold steel, just games on TV

And I'll burn in hell before I sell my rights away from me
It's high time we embrace the tool that keeps all men free

Come on and get you some

People Are Saying That Obama's Healthcare Law Got Massacred At The Supreme Court Today

The Supreme Court just wrapped up the second day of oral arguments in the landmark case against President Obama's healthcare overhaul, and reports from inside the courtroom indicate that the controversial law took quite a beating.

Today's arguments focused around the central constitutional question of whether Congress has the power to force Americans to either pay for health insurance or pay a penalty.

According to CNN's legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, the arguments were "a train wreck for the Obama administration."

"This law looks like it's going to be struck down. I'm telling you, all of the predictions including mine that the justices would not have a problem with this law were wrong," Toobin just said on CNN.

Conspiracy charges dropped against Hutaree militia

Via Don

A federal judge dismissed the most serious charges Tuesday against seven members of a Michigan militia who were rounded up as homegrown extremists accused of plotting war against the U.S., saying their expressed hatred of law enforcement didn't amount to conspiracy against the government.

The decision is an embarrassment for the government, which secretly planted an informant and an FBI agent inside the Hutaree militia four years ago and claimed members were armed for war in rural southern Michigan.

I spent twenty-seven years in this factory
And the boss man says, 'hey you're not what we need'
The penguins in the suits they know nothing but greed
It's a solitary life when you've mouths to feed
But who cares about us?

Now I'm back on the streets
With my hands held shut
I'm a workingman without any work
Well is this the way it's meant to be
Because I signed off for the American Dream
Now, I write my name to the welfare scheme
The money in the bank, well it's history

So take me down to where the worlds collide
And leave me here 'til I'm satisfied
So let the Revolution begin

Now I drag these bones
'Cross the barren land
Where once a city, now an outstretched hand
We can't lose our sense of dignity
While the fat-faced cats lap up the cream
Another disappearing act falls up their sleeves
While the shirts on our back seek refugee

So take me down to where the worlds collide
And leave me here 'til I'm satisfied
'Cause there'll come a day
When all of us will show, we won't be afraid
Although we're crashing, we won't burn
Let the Revolution, the revolution begin

I spent twenty-seven years in this factory
And the boss man says, 'hey you're not what we need'
The penguins in the suits they know nothing but greed
It's a solitary life when you've mouths to feed

So take me down to where the worlds collide
And leave me here 'til I'm satisfied
Do take me down to where the worlds divide
And leave me here I won't compromise
'Cause there'll come a day
When all of us will show, we won't be afraid
'Cause from these ashes we will grow
So let the Revolution, the Revolution, the Revolution begin...

Yes, that is RuPaul...in all his/her glory, mocking our colors, and on display inside YOUR Museum of the Confederacy.

These are comments by members of the Southern Heritage Preservation page on Facebook.

This is what greets you when you first walk into the new Museum of the Confederacy in Appomattox. Yes, sadly it is a life sized photo of Rue Paul drag queen wearing the Confederate Battle Flag as a dress. This is Waite Rawls flipping the bird to all Southerners. The perfect illustration of how out of touch Rawls is with the duties and responsibilities of running the any museum, much less the Museum of the Confederacy. I think it is time for a full on assault on the museum's board to have Rawls removed as director. What an arrogant bastard...

And here is another comment...

Apparently this is not the end to the atrocities that Waite Rawls is committed to - I just heard a rumor that in order to demean and insult the memory of our gallant Confederate Soldiers, that Rawls has made arrangement to have blue uniformed reenactors portraying the yankee war criminals at the grand opening ceremony. The garbage that spews from Waite Rawls is never ending just as his intense hatred for Southern truth and heritage.

SCV Chaplain Responds To Scalawag Rawl

(From the current Confederate Veteran. (October 5, 2007) BT)

Rev. Fr. Alister C. Anderson
Ten East Third Street
Frederick, Maryland

October 5, 2007

Dear Mr.Rawls:

I have been a member of the Museum of the Confederacy for many years and I am happy to hear you state that ''We will not abandon Richmond." I am, however, disappointed to read some statements you made in a letter I received dated 9 September 2007. In the third paragraph, I am sorry you used the words "Civil War." I need not define to you -the words "Civil War." You must know that our war was the War for Southern Independence; the War of Northern Aggression; the War Between the States. Take your pick, Mr.Rawls, but do not say "Civil War."

When you write in your letter, "... when we say the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, the phrase 'indivisible, with liberty and justice for all' rings in our ears,".. .and we're the products of the crucible of our own internal conflict," I must insist that these words are not the products of our own internal conflict.
These words were written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister who was forced to resign his pastorate because of his Socialist sermons and political activities.

Mr. Rawls, you should know that "our own internal conflict" was fought to defend the Constitutional principles of States' Rights, to free the people of the South from their economic strangulation by the radical Republican Lincoln Administration, which government was determined to destroy our Southern culture. Our War was fought to prevent a rapacious Federal Government (it is not federalat all, having repudiated in concept of federalism given to us by the Founding Fathers) to impose its way of life and dictatorial politics and culture upon the South.

Francis Bellamy admired the ideas of the French Revolution. He believed that it helped men to appreciate their personal dignity and God-given rights, to which you and I will say "Yes," but at what a horrendous and demonic and totally unnecessary price in blood and possessions. Through some devious political connections he was permitted to write the Pledge of Allegiance with his Socialist intentions to weld together the mentality of all Americans in their allegiance to a centralized Federal Government.

For example, the word allegiance was taken from President Lincoln's Oath of Allegiance, which all Southerners had to take to regain citizenship, and to admit that they were guilty of rebellious, and that they were evil people.
Bellamy used the word indivisible to impress Southerners that secession was a grevious sin and that they were guilty; and especially the children were made to feel guilty that their parents fought for freedom, independence, self-government, and the protection of their families, houses, churches, farms and cities from destruction. And by the way, no human political construct is ever indivisible. Only GOD IS INDIVISIBLE! Southern scholars and historians have written that Bellamy's idea to include "liberty and justice for all" is a substitute phrase which he was forced to use instead of his preferred phrase, "Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity," the atheist words of the radical French Revolution.

John Dewey admired Francis Bellamy and we all know that Dewey, who advocated "Progressive Education," willingly played into the subversive agenda of the cultural Marxists. Francis Bellamy can be linked to Dewey, who has produced a morally corrupt, anti-Christian, multi-cultural, secular public school system which now openly attacks traditional Christian culture.

Finally, Mr. Rawls, the Museum of the Confederacy was designed and established to celebrate the Confederacy and the Southern history and culture and people who had to go to war to defend themselves. For you to say that the museum exists to help Southerners "find an understanding -warts and all-" is to undermine the original and true purpose of this museum. There
are many other museums in our country which deliberately try to impose on the South and our ancestors ugly lies about our warts and all We Southerners should not surrender our duty to celebrate the Confederacy.

We have an understanding of what the war was all about. .

If I were in your position as President and CEO of the Museum of the Confederacy, I would place on the most visible place in the museum the immortal words of General Stephen D. Lee:

"To you, sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember it is your duty to
see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."

With best wishes for you in your care of OUR museum,

I am,

Sincerely yours,
