Following the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter
at Charleston to Confederate forces on April 9, 1861, Lincoln ordered
the Governors of the remaining Union states to call up their state
militias and supply an army of 75,000 to invade and subdue the seven
Southern states that had seceded. While this was received
enthusiastically in many northern states, the Border States viewed this
order as a tyranny they would not follow. As Union sentiment in the
Border States evaporated, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and
Arkansas seceded, and secession efforts were underway in Missouri and
Kentucky.
Governor J. W. Ellis of North Carolina declared
that North Carolina would “be no party to this wicked violation of the
laws of the country and this war upon the liberties of a free people.”
Governor Beriah Magoffin of Kentucky responded to Lincoln: “I say
emphatically Kentucky will furnish no troops for the wicked purpose of
subduing her sister Southern states.” Missouri Governor Claiborne
Jackson responded harshly to Lincoln: “Your requisition is illegal,
unconstitutional, revolutionary, inhuman, [and] diabolical, and cannot
be complied with.” The order was likewise not well received in Maryland.

Feds: More Than A Quarter Of Illegal Immigrant Minors In Our Care Are Gang Members

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) surveyed illegal immigrant minors in its custody and found that 28 percent of them were gang members, according to Senate testimony.
The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing Wednesday on the “MS-13 problem.” The Salvadoran gang has grown in the recent years in the U.S. due to an influx of illegal immigrant minors from Central America.
Scott Lloyd, director of the ORR, described in his opening testimony the extent of the gang problem among these young illegal immigrants. Unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors are kept in ORR facilities until the agency can find them a sponsor, who is typically a relative.

Judicial Watch: POTUS Trump Can Obtain Susan Rice Unmasking Records From Obama Library

TGP previously reported, Judicial Watch announced that the National Security Council (NSC) on May 23, 2017, informed it by letter that the materials regarding the unmasking by Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice of “the identities of any U.S. citizens associated with the Trump presidential campaign or transition team” were removed government possession.
The documents were moved to the Obama Library and under the
Presidential Records Act, Presidential records remain closed to the
public for five years after an administration has left office.
President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton said Wednesday on Fox & Friends that President Trump can obtain these records from the Obama Presidential Library because they are federal records.

Rand Paul Reintroduces ‘Read The Bills Resolution’

GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky blasted the process that Republicans in the upper chamber used while crafting their Obamacare repeal legislation Wednesday, reintroducing a resolution aimed at preventing lawmakers from rushing through legislation.
The Read the Bills Resolution would require legislation, resolutions, amendments and conference reports to be filed for one day for every 20 pages before they can be taken up. The measure includes a provision allowing lawmakers to act in the case of emergencies.

Trump’s EPA Scraps Committee That Rubber Stamped Obama’s Job Killing Regulations

President Obama’s EPA was without a doubt the most out of control department/agency in his administration. Some of the things that went on over there during his tenure defied logic and often times morality as well.
The most notable example of EPA incompetence was the stunning fact that they knew the water in Flint, Michigan was tainted and didn’t alert the public for 7 months. If that’s not the definition of reprehensible then I don’t know what is.
But, that kind of callous behavior was just another day at the office for the EPA.
