Supreme Court rebuffs Biden over Trump-era 'Remain in Mexico' policy

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rebuffed the Biden administration's effort to halt the reinstatement of a controversial Trump-era immigration measure known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy.

In a brief order that broke along familiar ideological lines, the conservative-majority court declined to intervene after a lower court revived the policy, which requires asylum-seekers at the southern border to stay in Mexico while their applications are processed.

Justice Samuel Alito wrote that the administration had failed to show it was likely to ultimately prevail in defending the lawfulness of its decision to rescind the Trump measure, officially called the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).

I authored this paper for an individual who wishes that the name be removed.  The name has been redacted from the copy provided here.

In order to assist the reader with a framework for understanding this paper, it should first be emphasized that it is written from a very specific theological perspective.  The necessary presuppositions are outlined at the beginning.

It could of course be objected that there may be other (what I am calling “committed Christians”) who do not hold one or more of the views expressed here.  The intent is not to engage a theological debate.  I could very well do that, but it is best left to another occasion.

Matȟó Wanáȟtake, called Kicking Bear

 Via O'glagla Ouf

Matȟó Wanáȟtake, called Kicking Bear, was born in an Oglala Lakota community near Pine Ridge, South Dakota. (The exact date given is a guess by sources.) He was in charge of his own group of fighters in the War for the Black Hills, also known as the Great Sioux War, fighting with his brother, Flying Hawk, and his first cousin, Crazy Horse. After the war, Kicking Bear put down arms and began non-violent methods to resist efforts by the U.S. government to take their land and herd them into reservations.

Kicking Bear became active in the Ghost Dance religious movement of 1890. Along with fellow Lakota Short Bull and the Paiute holy man Wovoka, he brought the movement to the reservations in South Dakota. Kicking Bear staged the first Lakota Ghost Dance and soon developed a reputation as a distinguished holy man.

“The Ghost Dance” was a rite involving drums, dancing, and prayer, and made the whites very nervous. They feared the dance was just a precursor to an Indian uprising. The Ghost Dance was the “excuse” for the 1890 massacre by the U.S. Army of mostly old men, women, and children, at Wounded Knee on the Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

More than 200 men, women, and children of the Lakota were killed and 51 were wounded (4 men and 47 women and children, some of whom died later). As the wounded fled, the soldiers pursued them to finish them off. Many of the women were raped before they were killed, and a number of soldiers hacked off body parts to take as souvenirs. (At least twenty of the soldiers were later awarded the Medal of Honor.)

When the carnage was over, surviving Lakota were “allowed” either to join Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, go to prison, or go to Oklahoma where the tribes hated them.

Washington sent troops to Standing Rock Reservation where they found and arrested Kicking Bear and other prominent figures. Similarly to the situation at Wounded Knee, Kicking Bear and his fellow captives were offered release provided they join the 1891-92 European Tour of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.

Kicking Bear agreed but became enraged over the depiction of Native Americans in the show.
In 1896, Kicking Bear was one of five elected to travel to Washington to air grievances about Native American treatment by the U.S. Government.

While in Washington, Kicking Bear agreed to have a life mask made of himself. The mask was to be used as the face of a Sioux warrior to be displayed in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History.

Kicking Bear died on May 28, 1904, at the age of 51, it is believed that he is buried in the area of Manderson, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Stranded American Responds To Psaki Saying Americans Are “Not” Stranded: “Not Comforting At All”

True The Vote Conducting Massive Clandestine Voter Fraud Investigation

PHILADELPHIA, PA - OCTOBER 17: A pedestrian casts a shadow on an early voting ballot at drop box outside of the Eastern State Penitentiary on October 17, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With the election only a little more than two weeks away, a new form of in-person early voting by …

Conservative election integrity group True The Vote has been conducting a months-long massive and clandestine voter fraud investigation into the 2020 presidential election, the results of which may soon start coming out, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.

A document that the group’s founder Catherine Engelbrecht circulated to prospective donors, obtained by Breitbart News, details several facets of the investigation—which centers on what the group describes as the collection of cell phone GPS ping data in key election hotspots around the country including Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Arizona AG warns of potential border threat from terrorists freed by Taliban in Afghanistan

Attorney General Mark Brnovich - Home | Facebook

In a letter to President Biden, Brnovich pointed to comments made by former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott about the threat of terrorists potentially making their way through the southern border amid the ongoing migration crisis facing the U.S.

"I firmly believe that it is a national security crisis," Scott said in a video message to agents, as reported by The Washington Examiner. "Immigration is just a subcomponent of it, and right now, it’s just a cover for massive amounts of smuggling going across the southwest border — to include TSDBs at a level we have never seen before. That's a real threat."

Understanding the Afghanistan Debacle: The British Military Withdrawal Catastrophe of 1842

 Via Mike

Abdul Ghani Baradar, Afghan Taliban Leader

We may have no honorable and effective means left to save thousands of American lives and our international reputation and future influence in the world except decisive military force. We can only hope that our military forces have not been so weakened by Critical Race Theory and various forms of political correctness and woke ideology that they are unable to deliver a quick and decisive blow against those who would do us harm.

In the nineteenth century, the British and Russian empires vied for dominance of Afghanistan and Southwest Asia in what has been called the “Great Game.”

The British occupied Afghanistan periodically from 1839 to 1919 and fought three Anglo-Afghan wars in 1839-1842, 1878-1880, and lastly in 1919.

Born in British India, Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), immortalized in his poem entitled “The Young British Soldier,” why Afghanistan was a dreaded assignment for British troops:

“When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s Plains

And the women come out to cut up what remains

Just roll on your rifle an’ blow out your brains

An’ go to your Gawd like a soldier:”

Tom Cotton Aide: American Woman Stranded in Kabul, Beaten by Taliban

 Via Billy

Despite assurances by President Joe Biden that Americans are safely making their way to the Kabul airport for evacuation, an aide to Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) tweeted Monday that an American woman was stranded in Kabul, beaten by the Taliban, and unable to get out.

“An American woman is stranded in Kabul, all alone,” the aide, Marine veteran Matthew Downer, tweeted Monday afternoon.

“When she tried to get to the airport, the Taliban beat her for the crime of traveling without a male escort,” he added. “She has heard nothing from the State Department — only from free lance volunteers a world away.”

Comment on Biden Effect: France, UK, Italy and Germany Turn t...

Biden Effect: France, UK, Italy and Germany Turn t...

This is not Joe Biden's Fall of Saigon moment. It is his Fall of Rome moment. Our enemies are chortling about America’s plummet as a super power. America's abject humiliation is obvious to all. Now, the Taliban is humiliating America even further by rejecting America’s hat-in-hand request for more time to get its civilians and Afghan interpreters and employees out of the country. America did not just “negotiate with terrorists,” it begged for relief from terrorists and it was rebuffed.

In a crisis situation, what sort of genius would send the SWAT team home before a hostage was released? Yet, we pulled out our military in the dark of night and left American civilians, the Afghan interpreters and US employees, and billions of dollars in US equipment behind, all because Joe Biden was hellbent about being able to claim that he got us out of the country before 9/11.

Joe plunged ahead and ignored our NATO’s allies’ warnings about such a precipitous pullout. Joe ignored the American intel warnings. Joe ignored the Kabul embassy staff’s warnings. Joe proved Barack Obama’s assessment to be spot on, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.”

In Joe's reckless pullout from Afghanistan, he even left the 9/11 Monument made from World Trade Center steel at Bagram Air Base. Expect that the Taliban will exploit it as part of their victory monument. To be fair, it IS their victory. Nice going, Joe. It will be just one more part of America's humiliation. This is what happens when Americans elect an empty suit for President.

Jill Biden and other Democrats knew very well that Joe was in cognitive decline. Yet, "Dr." Jill Biden wanted to be First Lady so badly, and other Democrats wanted to capture the Oval Office so badly, that they did the best they could to hide Joe's early- stage dementia throughout the campaign (at least from Americans who weren’t paying attention). Now, America is paying the price.

Years ago, I knew a friend who was estranged from his wife and was living apart. I asked him why he didn't just get a divorce. He responded, "Cheaper to keep her." Americans are people who wave their flag, yet expect that their wars are short, clean, and bloodless. Americans who wanted the Afghan War to end are now being confronted by their folly. This mess will cost more in the long run than it will save in American blood and treasure. No American has been killed in Afghanistan in 18 months. The war was costing a mere 1% of the budget. Now, America's global standing has been massively damaged, and it will be affected for many years. The cost of to repair this damage will be terrible in American blood, sweat, and toil. Our enemies are chortling.

Thanks, Joe.

Repost, in part, 2013: Greenbrier Military School: Brett Philips RIP

Brett Phillips was my roommate my first year and was from the Fauquier/Loudoun county areas of Northern Virginia as were many of us. I talked to him in 2013 and he was living in Charleston in an old sea captain's place.

Loudoun Journalist, Publisher Brett Phillips Dies at 76

He said he was fine and I asked why he didn't marry Lolly and he said he should have kept her, :) though she died in her 40's as did Louise Charbonnet. (What a beautiful girl and we were all in love with her and her two sisters were beautiful also.) My Mother said once facetiously, but not really, that I should marry her as one of our farms ran up against theirs. :) At any rate, he is gone most, unfortunately. I visited him one Sunday at VMI and he wasn't a happy camper.

Not much more needs to be said about Greenbrier, other than his words above.
