The Progressive Levels of Islamic Jihad: Hatred, Lies, Conquest, and Genocide
Via Mike
First of all, I must disclaim that Islam has exclusive ownership of hatred, propaganda, conquest, and genocide. Communist Soviet Russia and Maoist Communist China eradicated over 140 million of their own citizens by systematic murder, starvation, and brutal and disease-ridden concentration camps during the Twentieth Century. North Vietnamese and Cambodian Communists exterminated 3.5 million South Vietnamese and Cambodian dissenters after the U.S. had withdrawn its support for South Vietnam and Cambodia in 1975.
The Nazi’s murdered 6.0 million Jews and another 5.0 million dissenting Germans and Slavs during World War II. The Union’s “total war” policies during the Civil War resulted in the deaths of at least 50,000 Southern civilians, more than half of them blacks. The phrase, “The only good Indian is a dead Indian” did not originate with a Turkish Sultan. Those who believe that the whole human race does not have some serious tendencies to moral distortion and blindness are sadly mistaken, hopelessly naïve, or dangerously misled.

Yet we dare not ignore the realities of Islam,
especially the tremendous importance of its doctrines of Islamic

Poe’s War of the Literati
Edgar Allan Poe secured a permanent place among world authors as father of the short story, creator of the detective story, and/poetic genius. While he has an international reputation, Poe consciously identified himself as a Southern writer.
Poe may not often come to mind as a Southern writer because he did not write about the South the way Simms or, later, Faulkner did. Philosophically opposed to the use of literature for didactic purposes, Poe did not make the South the object of his writing. Nonetheless, his stories resonate with the attitudes and interests one might expect from a young Virginia gentleman educated at the University of Virginia and West Point.
His sojourn in South Carolina had a subtle influence on the setting for many of his stories and poems. The sea, the marshes, the deep semi-tropical forests hung with Spanish moss, the forbidding swamps, and the narrow causeway approaches to isolated plantation manors formed the setting for such stories as “The Gold Bug,” “The Oblong Box,” “The Man that was Used Up,” “The Balloon Hoax,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “Annabel Lee.” Poe also pioneered in the introduction of black characters in American fiction.

Body camera footage shows officer planting drugs, public defender says
Via Billy
Police and prosecutors in Baltimore have launched investigations after being alerted to body camera footage that the public defender’s office says shows an officer planting drugs.
One officer has been suspended and two others have been placed on administrative duty, police said. Police said they have not reached any conclusions as to the conduct depicted in the video. Other cases in which the officers are involved are now under review as well, police and prosecutors said.
The public defender’s office, which released the footage, said it was recorded by an officer during a drug arrest in January. It shows the officer placing a soup can, which holds a plastic bag, into a trash-strewn lot.

Ron DeSantis to Trump: Cut Obamacare subsidies to pressure Congress
Via Billy
President Trump should use healthcare subsidies for Congress as leverage over lawmakers in Obamacare repeal talks, according to Florida Republican.
"If you make them live under Obamacare, my guess is that they will vote to quickly repeal Obamacare," Rep. Ron DeSantis said Thursday on the House floor.
That suggestion revived a Republican attack on a regulation promulgated under former President Obama that allowed members of Congress and their staff to receive healthcare subsidies. The rule survived attacks by several lawmakers, but DeSantis argued Trump can use it to prod senators hesitant to get behind a healthcare bill crafted by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
"The best way to restart the Obamacare repeal process is simple: make Congress live under it," DeSantis said. "The president can make this happen."

Rand Paul opens door to backing healthcare bill on key hurdle
Via Billy
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is opening the door to helping GOP leadership get a healthcare bill over a key procedural hurdle.
The Kentucky Republican said on Thursday that he would support the motion to proceed to the House-passed healthcare bill, which is being used as a vehicle for any action, if he could get a deal on amendments.
"If they want my vote, they have to at least agree that we're going to at least have a vote on clean repeal," Paul told reporters.
The Kentucky Republican floated that Senate leadership should guarantee votes on some of the caucus's most prominent healthcare proposals — including repeal-only, repeal-and-replace and a bill created by Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) — as a way to get him on board.

Ben Carson: HUD will 'reinterpret' Obama housing discrimination rule
Via Billy
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson said Wednesday that his agency will "reinterpret" the landmark Obama housing rule meant to address housing discrimination, a regulation that conservatives have criticized as tantamount to a national zoning board.
"Do I believe in fair housing? Of course, I believe in fair housing," Carson told the Washington Examiner in a Wednesday interview. But he said he doesn't believe in "extra manipulation and cost."
"So we just have to reinterpret it, that's all," he said.

Gorka: America is back with the first 6 months of Trump

Donald Trump won the presidential election against Hillary Clinton with a very simple message: I will fix the economy, build the wall and destroy ISIS.
In this, he channeled the simplicity of Ronald Reagan's own election platform. Then-Gov. Reagan promised to restore Americans’ faith in our nation, to fix the economic “malaise” of the Carter years and to defeat the Soviet Union once and for all.
For the Trump campaign, and now the Trump administration, our approach is summarized under the “Make America Great Again” motto, or #MAGA.
However, winning an election is not the same as governing or implementing a policy agenda once in office. Bumper stickers saying MAGA make for effective political communication, but do not automatically translate by themselves into policies or grand strategy.
