Attracting Volunteer Mercenaries
Frank Sanborn of Concord, Ma, resists arrest by Federal Marshals in regard to his support of abolitionist John Brown, illustration published in Harper’s Weekly, circa 1860
But perhaps the greatest evil was a private enlistment company, headquartered in Boston, set up to bring immigrants from Europe to serve in the Union army. It originated in the fall of 1863 when John Murray Forbes spoke with associates about encouraging foreign immigration as a way to increase the State’s manpower quota
The North’s war-weariness in late 1863, despite the capture of Vicksburg and stand-off at Gettysburg, had increased after the well-publicized greed of manufacturers supplying shoddy equipment to the army, and speculators overcharging the government “for everything from spoiled food to broken-down horses . . . was everyone out to feather his own nest? Was it fair for some men to go out and put their lives on the line while others stayed home and made big profits?” Bostonian aristocrat John Murray Forbes insisted that Lincoln now frame the war as a struggle by “the People against the Aristocrats” of the South.

Cultural Marxism and Critical Theory: A History
Via Billy
Which brings us to the point and purpose of Cultural Marxism; it is a method of conquest. Not conquest with guns, tanks, planes, or armies, but with ideology. Control the dominant ideas in a nation, and you can control the nation itself.
The Red Trojan Horse: A Concise Analysis of Cultural Marxism, by Alasdair Elder
Elder has written a book examining, first, the history of Cultural Marxism, and second, the situation today. In this post, I will review and examine the history.
He offers, early on, his meaning of the term:
Cultural Marxism is a wide-ranging designation which refers to the promotion and employment of Critical Theory.

ICU Doctor Speaks Out — I was fired for refusing the Vaccine and prescribing Ivermectin…
A local ICU physician – who fought the Covid pandemic on the front lines for 18 months – is out of a job after refusing to get the vaccine.
Dr. Mollie James said she was employed at two health systems in the Midwest, including in St. Louis, for much of the pandemic. She was also splitting her time between local hospitals and one in New York.
James has worked as a trauma and acute care surgeon for 11 years, four of which were spent in St. Louis.
“When the pandemic hit I just felt a calling to go to New York when they called for volunteers,” she said. “So I went there in April of 2020 and I liked being in the midst of it. My purpose for going was to help them out, but also to see what they were doing in real time and what was the most effective for patients so I could bring that back to the community.”

"Oh Boo Hoo, Admiral Levine." Twitter takes down U.S. Rep. Jim Banks’ tweet misgendering trans admiral Rachel Levine
What is it?
Via John You can say the vilest things you want on Twitter - as long the person you're talking about is not some liberal. They're 'special'. You're not. That's the bottom line message from Twitter. If you believe in reality, then there is no place for you on Twitter.
Earlier this week, the Republican congressman who represents Indiana’s 3rd Congressional district misgendered Dr. Rachel Levine, U.S. assistant secretary for health, in a pair of tweets.
Levine, the nation’s highest-ranking openly transgender official, made history on Tuesday as the first openly transgender four-star officer in the uniformed services when she was sworn in as an admiral of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
