How the Trump Administration Caught the Woman Who Allegedly Leaked Documents to ‘The Intercept’

President Trump has vowed to root out leakers—and this weekend he made good on that promise.
Reality Leigh Winner, 25, of Augusta, Ga., was arrested by the FBI in her home on Saturday after she allegedly printed and removed classified intelligence reporters containing “national defense information from an intelligence community agency,” according to the DOJ. She then “unlawfully transmitted by mail the intelligence reporting to an online news outlet.”
The stolen information likely provided the basis for an article printed on June 5 on The Intercept detailing Russian hacking efforts into U.S. voting software in the days leading up to the election.
After the government arrived at Winner’s residence with a warrant, she admitted printing the classified report and mailing it to The Intercept, the DOJ filing claims.

Two weeks ago New Orleans removed its Robert E. Lee Monument, one of four that the city decided to take down. As well, Charlottesville, Virginia, currently finds itself in the midst of a rancorous debate over its Lee statue. All over the South and the nation moves are afoot to take down monuments, remove flags, hide any symbols that in any way honor or remind the present generation favorably of the Confederacy and the “lost cause.”
There has been much written about what the removals mean. How should we see these attempts to radically erase, uproot and alter portions of our history?
It goes without saying that each generation interprets the past—its past—to enhance, justify and confirm its view of itself. Certainly, the politically correct, cultural Marxist Left, which spearheads the effort to “cleanse” our society of Confederate symbolism, has erected its own set of symbols, totems, and myths to legitimize its present activities and its extreme revolutionary zeal. Thus, in the place of Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson, we witness the rising cults of Nat Turner, Harriet Jacobs, “the Secret Six” abolitionists, and the rehabilitation and virtual canonization of the bloodthirsty fanatic, John “Pottawatomie” Brown. In the America of 2017 we have a whole new set of martyrs and saints, whose message is carefully massaged and congealed, and then presented as models for us and for our children. And there can be no dissent from this new imposed vision.

Rep. Clay Higgins on ‘radicalized Islamic’ suspects: ‘Kill them all’

Newly elected Rep. Clay Higgins is gaining widespread attention for a Facebook post in response to Saturday’s London terrorist attack that called on the United States to hunt down radicalized Islamic suspects and “kill them all.”
“The free world… all of Christendom… is at war with Islamic horror,” the Louisiana Republican wrote Sunday afternoon on his campaign page, which has remained active since his victory. “Not one penny of American treasure should be granted to any nation who harbors these heathen animals. Not a single radicalized Islamic suspect should be granted any measure of quarter. Their intended entry to the American homeland should be summarily denied.

Melbourne siege: “This is for IS, this is for al-Qaeda"

Police have shot and killed a gunman who took a hostage in Melbourne, after an apparent siege.
The situation has been resolved after a man was shot and the woman who was being held against her will was rescued, according to Victoria Police. The man may have killed someone else in the foyer of the same apartment building, according to local reports.
Local media stations said they had received a call that appeared to have come from within the building, where a woman could be heard screaming in the background.

The Justice Department filed charges on Monday against a 25-year-old woman accused of stealing Top Secret information and providing it to The Intercept.
Reality Leigh Winner is accused in the complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Georgia, of “removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet,” the Justice Department said.
Winner, who lives in Augusta, has worked for Pluribus International since Feb. 13, according to the complaint. She held a Top Secret clearance.
On May 9, “Winner printed and improperly removed classified intelligence reporting, which contained classified national defense information from an intelligence community agency, and unlawfully retained it,” the complaint says.
