Donald Trump blasted the American and German governments on Sunday for opening their doors to a mass surge of Syrian refugees - calling German Chancellor Angela Merkel's actions 'insane'.

He warned that the ISIS terror army - as 'the greatest Trojan horse' ever - could embed its forces in the countries, with young men searching for new homes in the United States.

'They're going to have riots in Germany,' the Republican presidential front-runner said on the CBS 'Face the Nation' program.

'I thought Merkel was a great leader,' Trump howled. 'What she's done in Germany is insane. it's insane. They're having all sorts of attacks, letting in that many people.'

China is launching a comprehensive “credit score” system, and the more I learn about it, the more nightmarish it seems. China appears to be leveraging all the tools of the information age—electronic purchasing data, social networks, algorithmic sorting—to construct the ultimate tool of social control. It is, as one commentator put it, “authoritarianism, gamified.” Read this piece for the full flavor—it will make your head spin. If that and the little other reporting I’ve seen is accurate, the basics are this:

• Everybody is measured by a score between 350 and 950, which is linked to their national identity card. While currently supposedly voluntary, the government has announced that it will be mandatory by 2020.
• The system is run by two companies, Alibaba and Tencent, which run all the social networks in China and therefore have access to a vast amount of data about people’s social ties and activities and what they say.

Got Faith?

 

At last spring's NC PATCON introduction I spoke about how I miss the America I grew up in. I am going on 63 years old and times have indeed changed. I remember as a child getting up on a Saturday morning and heading off on my bicycle with my bat and glove or my fish pole and not coming home until just before dinner time and no one worried. That is not the world we live in today. Parents fear letting their children roam free because of the Evil that exists today.

Do not get me wrong Evil has always existed. But in the past Evil kept to the shadows and the darkness. Today Evil walks freely amongst us in the daylight. This is because the people have accepted Evil as inevitable and even worse almost commonplace. Evil has not grown stronger, people have grown weaker. People have accepted Evil as we allow the murder of millions of children in the name of a women's right to Choose. We have accepted gay marriage given the blessing of the government over the permanent bond of one man and one woman given the blessing of God. Evil no longer fears the light because men have chosen to live in Darkness.

Where I grew up so long ago it was commonplace for major traffic intersections to be directed by a round about. Vehicles would enter the round about and travel around the circle until they got to the exit that would let them proceed on their journey. As a nation, as a people we have been on a round about for years. We have been going round and round trying to find the right exit to continue our journey. Perhaps if we just took the exit that gave us one more election with just the right candidate for President. Perhaps if the congress now just elects the right Speaker of the House. Perhaps if these don't work and we just take up arms and revolt striking out at any and all parts of the current order.

There is but one way off this round about. There is now an open war on the Christian faith. You cannot insult Muhammad or Islam but you can openly mock Christianity and art is a crucifix in urine. Christians are not only being slaughtered in the Middle East but right here in Oregon at a community college people were asked if they were Christian and if they raised their hand they were shot in the head. After that first person was shot more raised their hand or kept their hand raised not being willing to deny their faith even in the face of death.

There is but one way off this round about. When confronting the Darkness, walk in the Light. When your time comes will you raise your hand?

The New Scar on My Soul

My soul carries a new scar.  The pain is fresh and keen, and I know that while time might see the pain fade, I will never fully recover from what I've seen, and done.  For I have failed, intentionally and knowingly, in the first duty of a parent: protecting the lives of two of my children.

My wife and I wanted children; alas, we needed IVF treatment to realize this dream.  

Several cycles and multiple embryo implantations later, we welcomed our blessing from G-d, who is the light of our lives.

Recently, we tried for another.

"It never rains, but it pours," said the fertility doctor -- of the three embryos that were implanted, all three took.  We were faced with the news of triplets.  I was shocked, knowing the burden that would entail, but since G-d gave us three, I was prepared to do whatever I needed to do to help, manage, and provide.

My wife?  Something snapped.  She insisted that we do a "selective reduction" from three to one, or else she would have a full abortion.  She was adamant.  She would not carry three.  She would not carry two.

Ludwig von Mises Institute founder Lew Rockwell published a blog post on Saturday calling for a grassroots campaign to pressure the U.S. House of Representatives to elect former Congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul to the position of House speaker.

According to Rockwell, Ron Paul Peace and Prosperity Institute executive director Daniel McAdams, who also served as Dr. Paul’s foreign affairs adviser during his time in Congress, says the U.S. House of Representatives is not required to elect one of its current members to serve as speaker. Consequently, Dr. Paul, who retired from Congress in January of 2013, could in theory be eligible to be elected to lead the House.

Viral Video Claims To Prove US Support Of ISIS In Iraq

While Russian warplanes over Syria have been systematically eradicating - and providing supporting video evidence - countless ISIS outposts and command centers over the past two weeks in Islamic State-held territories (even if in the process they may have taken on some of the CIA-supposrted "moderate rebels" whose only purpose was to remove Assad and are now left without US support), many have been wondering just what the US airforce, which over the past year has been engaged in "supporting missions" over the same region, has been doing? After all, shouldn't US warplanes have been doing for the past year what Putin's air force has been busy with in the past 14 days?

One answer, and a rather provocative one as it goes counter to everything that US has publicly claimed, comes courtesy of Hayder al-Khoei, an associate fellow at Chatham House, who notes that "another 'U.S. supports ISIS' video is going viral in Iraq." In the video US "parachutes & supply crates" are seen in the area of Iraq's Baiji refinery, a site of recurring ISIS incursions and battles.

He adds that "Vids like this & others of helos flying above Hashd/ISF positions towards ISIS-held areas reinforce narrative that US supports ISIS in #Iraq."

If its O.K. to put a monument to a civil rights leader on top of a Confederate memorial, why isn't it alright to put Confederate memorials on top of Civil Rights Memorials & when can we start?"

On the summit of Stone Mountain, yards away from where Ku Klux Klansmen once burned giant crosses, just above and beyond the behemoth carving of three Confederate heroes, state authorities have agreed to erect a monument to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on top of Stone Mountain.

A replica of the Liberty Bell — would celebrate the single line in the civil rights martyr’s 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech that makes reference to the 825-foot-tall hunk of granite: “Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.”

The chances of escalation from a proxy war to outright war just went to 11 on the Spinal Tap amplifier of sabre-rattling. A day after British and NATO pilots were reportedly given the green light to take drastic action against Russian fighter jets if they come under threat during missions over Iraq, Interfax reports that the Russian Defense Ministry has demanded clarification. Senior defence sources say it is just a matter of time before our fighters are involved in a deadly confrontation with Russian jets.

The Chinese, it appears, are wholeheartedly behind Putin's efforts, judging by the following puff-piece from Xinhua (unofficially China's government mouthpiece)...

Russia's recent military intervention in the Syrian war in the form of airstrikes and missile attacks aimed both at supporting the government of President Bashar Al-Assad in combatting the Islamic State (IS) has reaped initial gains.

Russia's bombing campaign in Syria, which began on Sept. 30, has strengthened the Syrian government, laying the foundation for a dialogue with all countries concerned to come up with solutions that could drag Syria out of the internal conflict that has lasted for more than four years.

According to Russia Today, Russia started its bombing campaign in Syria with a goal to provide air support to the government troops in fighting various terrorist groups, primarily the IS.

EPA spends millions on military-style weapons, watchdog group reports

The Environmental Protection Agency has spent millions of dollars over the last decade on military-style weapons to arm its 200 “special agents” to fight environmental crime.

Among the weapons purchased are guns, body armor, camouflage equipment, unmanned aircraft, amphibious assault ships, radar and night-vision gear and other military-style weaponry and surveillance activities, according to a new report by the watchdog group Open the Books.

I was invited to the event by my friend and event co-organizer Casey Runyan (working with Michelle Finn), a former 0331 Infantry Machine Gunner Team Leader in the  U.S. Marine Corps. I was excited to be at what many of us knew could be a seminal event, a gathering of real Oregonians who love America and her Constitution.
