Donovan - Universal Soldier
Brings back memories. The year before I joined the Army, the year of Dr. Zhivago, The Umbrellas of Cherborg, my '65 Hi-Po Fastback with carpet saturated in bourbon, seconds from death, DUI, Karen Bersch, Bobby Lang my carpet layin' gift of gab friend with trashcan full of beer and ice in the backseat of his old Buick on Sundays, pints of bourbon from our local bootlegger every night at around 2AM because we needed just a little bit more, blood and guts in a bar, caving, PBR, shooting groundhogs with my '98 Mauser, deb parties, Cooperstown, Virginia Gentleman, seeing the local cops view us going by them at over 100MPH at the end of a 1/4 mile at night on a public road and doing nothing about it, ad infinitum.

Poles and Polish-Americans expressed outrage today at President Obama’s reference earlier to “a Polish death camp” — as opposed to a Nazi death camp in German-occupied Poland.
“The White House will apologize for this outrageous error,” Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski tweeted. Sikorski said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk “will make a statement in the morning. It’s a pity that this important ceremony was upstaged by ignorance and incompetence.”
The president had been trying to honor a famous Pole, awarding a Presidential Medal of Freedom to Jan Karski, a resistance fighter who sneaked behind enemy lines to bear witness to the atrocities being committed against Jews. President Obama referred to him being smuggled “into the Warsaw ghetto and a Polish death camp to see for himself.”
Sikorski also tonight tweeted a link to an Economist story noting that “few things annoy Poles more than being blamed for the crimes committed by the Nazi occupiers of their homeland. For many years, Polish media, diplomats and politicians have tried to persuade outsiders to stop using the phrase ‘Polish death camps’ as a shorthand description of Auschwitz and other exemplars of Nazi brutality and mass murder. Unfortunately this seems to have escaped BaracK Obama’s staff seem not to have noticed this.”

May FTF recap/June FTX
To all Alamance personnel,
Our FTF was this past weekend and I would like to thank everyone who attended. After the hot dog lunch, discussion included the NC PatCon, GA PatCON and the national PatCon. From what I could find out, the NC PatCon had more attendance than the national. Randy Dye (NCRenegade blog), Michael Downing (NC Rangers) and NC State Representative Glen Bradley were some of the speakers there. Brock Townsend hosted the PatCon and the hospitality was excellent. He's planning another PatCon for the 1st weekend of October. Other items discussed at the FTF was: possible False Flag events, local, tactical and state comms in the event of a SHTF situation.
The June FTX is tentatively scheduled for the 22-24th. This will be held at Tom's location. Will send out directions when we get closer to the dates. Training covered will be as follows:

NC folk musician Doc Watson dies in hospital at 89

Doc Watson, the Grammy-award winning folk musician whose lightning-fast style of flatpicking influenced guitarists around the world for more than a half-century, died Tuesday at a hospital in Winston-Salem, according to a hospital spokeswoman and his manager. He was 89.
Watson, who was blind from age 1, recently had abdominal surgery that resulted in his hospitalization.
Arthel "Doc" Watson's mastery of flatpicking helped make the case for the guitar as a lead instrument in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was often considered a backup for the mandolin, fiddle or banjo. His fast playing could intimidate other musicians, even his own grandson, who performed with him.
Gov. Beverly Perdue called him a "worldwide ambassador of North Carolina's culture and heritage."
"Over his long and brilliant career, Doc Watson traveled the world playing the music he loved, but his heart never strayed far from his home in Deep Gap, North Carolina," Perdue said in a statement. "He will be missed."

8 Reasons Why The Great Depression Is The Best Case Scenario

Old, but first time I've seen it.
We are on the verge a collapse far greater than the Great Depression and we are far less capable of taking care of ourselves. Our way of life is dangerously dependent upon the ability for us to create unlimited amount of debt and the willingness of others to buy that debt. This way of life has a mathematically inevitable end and things that cannot go on forever, won’t.
Let us look a 8 reasons why the Great Depression is the best case scenario and also look at how difficult the Depression was for people who were far more prepared to deal with a harsh world.
- Back during the Depression most of America could feed themselves with farming, now we only know corporate frankenfood.
- Back then people only knew of real wealth, now we think the digits in our brokerage account in wealth.
- Back then people had a strong family on community support systems, now we live little lives of narcissism.
- Back then people had a strong spiritual strength, now we have chemically induced denial.
- Back then people were of fit body and strong mind, now we are obese and willfully ignorant.
- Back then people had a classical education to help them figure things out, now we wait for answers.
- Back then people had a real economy, now we have a consumer/debt economy.
- Back then people did physical activity for fun, now we have entertainment that turns us in to mental and physical mush.

FYI. There WAS abnormal smoking at the first-time start, but I think that was just the painted label burning off the ousides of the big interior Heinz tomato juice can.
Ignition + 5 minutes to smokeless ‘rocket effect’ + 3 more minutes to hard rolling boil of COLD tap water enough for two mugs of coffee. The windscreen helped with the draft although there was hardly any breeze blowing. Pulling out the fuel shelf stopped everything almost immediately, and there was no smoke, a useful point.
So why is "White Culture" dominant? Because we fought for it.

Others have much more eloquently explained why that is, how our culture proved superior to other cultures and became THE CULTURE to emulate. That's right kids. Nobody wants war with the US, Germany, or Great Britain.
Because below all the things that make us a superior culture; rule of law, property rights, equality of individuals, etc, is our ability to subjugate inferior cultures by the use of superior military might. Don't forget the abysmal hygiene conditions that allowed us to wipe out entire cultures just by showing carrying smallpox or a novel strain of influenza. The very best that any culture could give back? Syphilis.

HSLDA has written about the threats posed to homeschool freedom by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
However, there is a third dangerous United Nations convention. This is the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).1 President Obama sent it to the U.S. Senate for ratification on May 18, 2012.
CRPD was adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 13, 2006, and entered into force on May 3, 2008, after it received its 20th ratification. The Optional Protocol to the Convention went into force on the same day after it received its 10th ratification. The CRPD was signed by President Obama on July 30, 2009. Since it has been sent to the U.S. Senate for ratification by President Obama, the U.S. Senate could vote to ratify this treaty at any time.
CRPD calls for numerous protections for people with disabilities. Many of these protections are included in U.S. law as part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). However, CRPD also includes numerous provisions drafted by the United Nations which would concern many U.S. citizens. Like the CRC and CEDAW, if ratified, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities would become the supreme law of the land under the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause in Article VI, would trump state laws, and would be used as binding precedent by state and federal judges. Since it is a treaty, the U.S. Constitution requires that it must be ratified by two-thirds of the U.S. senators present at the time of the vote, or 67 senators if all 100 U.S. senators were present.

These Hellenized Romans were forced to flee from their ancient capital just as during the Trojan War the innocents of the house of Priam had fled the proud city built by Neptune.
Smoke arose from the ruined ground while the city’s inhabitants fled in different directions [1] from the pursuing Turkish hoard.
Her teardrop, in slow motion, gently struck the salty waters of the Marmara Sea causing tiny ripples to form in the still water, moving towards the four corners of the Earth. Like the ripples the refugees of the vanquished city fled with winged feet to foreign lands. In those last hours of the siege, the valorous right arm of the Emperor Constantine Palaeologus XI held his sword high in defiance of the Turks, who were swarming through the city’s broken walls.
His very soul crushed within, and feeling abandoned, Constantine XI uttered his final words:

Defense: Homestead Case Study – Back to Terrain Pt.2
In the last entry I oriented you to our notional homestead and we dissected a threat based zone system along with identifying what/how the threat could move and observe in our immediate Area of Operations (AO). The zone system is going to come into play heavily during our defense planning and during this entry we’re going to dissect those zones a bit. Still no countermeasures yet but it’s coming soon, trust me. For right now we have to get a seriously in depth grasp on the makeup of our terrain.
Below I have zoomed in a bit and show our immediate zone system map. Remember Zone A is out to 50 meters, Zone B is out to 150 meters, and zone C is out to 400 meters. These are the zones that will garner my immediate attention. Why these zones? From 400 meters in is what I call “carbine country”. Simply put that is the range that common rifles firing intermediate caliber cartridges( ARs, AKs, etc) are accurate at with nominal training by the shooter (and yeah I know an AR can hit yada yadas yada – I’m referring to what the average shooter is capable of not some guy that has thousands of bucks invested in a rifle and training). From Zone C in is our “fighting zone” and more than likely the extent of our rifles range as well. As usual the stars depict currently inhabited homesteads. The green lines represent existing fence lines.

China condemns U.S. gun ownership as human rights violation

A report issued by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China has included U.S. gun ownership among a list of human rights violations, Law Enforcement Examiner Jim Kouri reported yesterday. "The Human Rights Record of the United States in 2011" was published last Friday on the PRC’s Consulate General in New York website.
“The United States prioritizes the right to keep and bear arms over the protection of citizens' lives and personal security and exercises lax firearm possession control, causing rampant gun ownership,” the report claims. “The U.S. people hold between 35 percent and 50 percent of the world' s civilian-owned guns, with every 100 people having 90 guns [and] 47 percent of American adults reported that they had a gun.”
The conclusion that gun bans will result in enhanced protection of lives and personal security flies in the face of both the American and Chinese experience. Predictably, the report presents many of the same cherry-picked arguments used by “leading” U.S. and international “gun control” organizations that totally ignore the protective benefits of arms in private hands. And, as typical with advocates of a centralized monopoly of violence, Chinese-style genocide, which resulted in government-caused deaths of unknown tens of millions of defenseless human beings in the 20th Century, and the current brutal occupation and tyrannical suppression of Tibetan sovereignty, is left unacknowledged. Left unsaid is the inconvenient truth that rendering captive populations unable to resist makes such monstrous crimes against humanity not only possible, but inevitable.

I had taken my family to a McDonald’s Restaurant on our way to a pool party. I was off-duty, in civilian clothes, and armed.
I was standing in line and oblivious (like all the other patrons) to the fact that an armed suspect had taken the manager hostage and was forcing her to open the safe in the restaurant’s office. One of the cashiers had seen this and I overheard her telling another employee that the business was being robbed.
At that time, I had approximately 15 years of experience and was a SWAT team member and use-of-force/firearms instructor. I had talked to my wife about such an occurrence and we had a preplanned response. When I told her to take the children and leave the building, she did not hesitate. I began quietly telling employees and patrons to leave. My thinking was to remove as many innocent bystanders as possible and then leave myself.

Aaron Walker Arrested After Maryland Hearing on Kimberlin Case

Aaron Walker, whose complaint against convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin became a conservative cause célèbre this past week, was reportedly taken into custody today after a court hearing in Rockville, Maryland.
One person who attended the hearing in Montgomery County District Court said that Kimberlin asserted that Walker’s continued blogging represented a violation of a “peace order” Kimberlin had obtained against the Virginia attorney, who says Kimberlin tried to “frame” him for assault earlier this year.
During the course of the hearing — which reportedly lasted about an hour — Judge C.J. Vaughey appeared to become increasingly hostile toward Walker, who was taken into custody when the hearing concluded.
On Thursday, May 17, Walker published a 28,000-word account of his experience being targeted by Kimberlin, which soon caught the attention of leading figures in online New Media, including University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds, who writes the popular Instapundit blog, and bestselling author Michelle Malkin, who warned her readers, “Please remember: Kimberlin is a radical, violent, lying, dangerous felon.”
UPDATE: According to a source, Kimberlin claimed during the hearing that he has received death threats as a result of Walker’s violation of the peace order. In 1981, Kimberlin was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for his crimes, including the 1978 terrorist bombing that brutally maimed Vietnam veteran Carl DeLong.
UPDATE II: A copy of the “final peace order” (time-stamped 10:52 a.m.) states that Kimberlin is “in fear of imminent serious bodily harm” as a result of a “countless number” of death threats, and that “there is clear and convincing evidence that [Walker] is likely to commit a prohibited act in the future against [Kimberlin].”

High on the list of those who adhered to the enemy and waged war upon North Carolina was the infamous George W. Kirk, a murderous leader of fellow deserters and bushwhackers. Loading his plunder on forty horses and mules, Kirk took his booty and his prisoners and made a dash back to the mountains; but he was forced from time to time to fight off pursuing squads of [Home Guard] men – old men and young men – who had collected quickly.
In these skirmishes it was Kirk’s practice to place the prisoners in his own front rank so they might be killed unwittingly by their own comrades. He was heard to say, “Look at the damn fools shooting their own men.” Some of the prisoners were shot down, but my father was fortunate to escape unhurt.
When the prisoners had crossed the mountains and had reached the Tennessee River, they were distributed to various prisons, the officers being sent to Johnson’s Island in Lake Erie. [The prisoners] felt lucky to [be alive]…Kirk himself would probably have treated the prisoners more harshly if the Union general in command at Knoxville had not placed a restraining hand on Kirk. Kirk raided the Carolina mountains many times and in many directions. Women and children were the worst sufferers. Many of the men were in the army, and in their absence the women folk did even the plowing; when Kirk took their cows and pigs and chickens, there wasn’t much left to live on. If you wished to see men in this region bristle, all you need do is mention the name Kirk.”

Posse in Hawaii: 'Shocking' news coming
A letter from Hawaii’s Department of Health verifying Barack Obama’s birth in Honolulu has not only not stopped Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse work on the island, his lead investigator reports it has actually “opened the door” to some “shocking revelations” the posse is promising to disclose.
Among the details leaked early by Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo: There are allegedly several stamps bearing Registrar Alvin Onaka’s name “floating around” inside the Hawaii Department of Health.
Zullo was interviewed via telephone from Hawaii by Tea Party Power Hour host Mark Gillar to discuss, among other things, a letter stamped with Onaka’s name and sent to Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett as verification of Obama’s Hawaiian birth.
But Zullo – who met with Hawaii Department of Health officials in Honolulu the day before the letter to Bennett was issued – said the verification did deter the investigation briefly, but “actually, what looked like it was going to be almost like a deal killer, in a sense opened the door up to a greater avenue of investigational material.
“There is a lot that has been uncovered as a result of it,” he said.
“I can’t disclose to you what we’ve discovered, but it’s going to be a shocking revelation at our press conference,” Zullo promised.

At our place, we've been living the Sam Rand Way, dutifully scraping all of our food slop into the official City of Portland slop bucket and dumping it into our yard debris bin so that a private company can make a bundle out of it. It's our way of showing solidarity with North Korea.
But not everyone has been complying with the program. We've been hearing stories about other purposes for which people are using their free slop bucket. Our two favorites so far: A kid using it as a trick-or-treat candy bag on Halloween; and a woman washing out her wigs in it.

US commandos parachuted into North Korea

US and South Korean special forces have been parachuting into North Korea to gather intelligence about underground military installations, a US officer has said in comments carried in US media.
Army Brigadier General Neil Tolley, commander of US special forces in South Korea, told a conference held in Florida last week that Pyongyang had built thousands of tunnels since the Korean war, The Diplomat reported.
"The entire tunnel infrastructure is hidden from our satellites," Tolley said, according to The Diplomat, a current affairs magazine. "So we send (South Korean) soldiers and US soldiers to the North to do special reconnaissance."
