Foreign workers taking high tech jobs

It's nearly 8 p.m., and inside a state office building two dozen computer experts design and troubleshoot a system that will take and process millions of unemployment claims each year.

It's a $200 million Employment Development Department project, but with the exception of two managers, everyone inside the office is from outside of the U.S. They are employed by Deloitte, a major U.S. IT company hired by the state to create and manage its Unemployment Insurance Modernization project. The mostly Indian nationals are allowed to work here under a visa program called H-1B.

How Much Will Obama’s Executive Action on Immigration Cost?

 

Comparing the spending in President Obama’s budget proposal for 2016 with his budget proposal for 2015 is turning out to be a very interesting exercise. It’s one that may shed much light on future spending for the roughly 5 million undocumented immigrants subject to the president’s controversial executive action on immigration announced last November.

First, it’s helpful to recall that White House budget proposals can tell us a lot about a president’s ambitions and expectations. In our previous installments, we’ve found indications that President Obama is conceding that his foreign policy is failing and that he believes that the outlook for the U.S. housing recovery is dimming.

Following up that last observation, it was natural to next examine the amount of spending that President Obama is proposing to spend during the next four years for the federal government’s major welfare/economic security programs. Here, if President Obama believes that the U.S. economy is heading toward recession, he would be proposing large increases in the amounts budgeted for federal welfare programs.

Feds raid Republic of Texas political meeting

In a deliberate “show of force,” federal and local police forces raided a political meeting in Texas, fingerprinting and photographing all attendees as well as confiscating all cell phones and personal recording devices.

Members of the Republic of Texas, a secession movement dedicated to restoring Texas as an independent constitutional republic, had gathered Feb. 14 in a Bryan, Texas, meeting hall along with public onlookers. They were debating issues of currency, international relations and celebrating the birthday of one of their oldest members. The group, which describes itself as “congenial and unimposing,” maintains a small working government, including official currency, congress and courts.

According to MySanAntonio.com: “Minutes into the meeting a man among the onlookers stood and moved to open the hall door, letting in an armed and armored force of the Bryan Police Department, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, agents of the Texas district attorney, the Texas Rangers and the FBI.

Wisconsin prof offers extra credit for attending anti-Walker budget protests

English students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater have been offered extra credit for protesting Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) recent budget proposal, which includes cuts to the UW system.

The MacIver Institute, a conservative Wisconsin-based think tank, is reporting that Dr. Beth Lueck provided students in her Freshman English class the opportunity to earn extra credit by “joining,” “observing,” or “protesting” a rally held on the campus yesterday.

Judge rules EPA lied about transparency, tells agency to halt discrimination against conservatives

 

A federal judge warned the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday not to discriminate against conservative groups in how it responds to open-records requests, issuing a legal spanking.

Judge Royce C. Lamberth concluded the agency may have lied to the court and showed “apathy and carelessness” in carrying out the law, though the judge was unable to determine if documents were intentionally destroyed.

Judge Lamberth described the “absurdity” of the way the EPA handled a Freedom of Information Act request from the Landmark Legal Foundation and then the court case stemming from it — including late last week admitting it lied to the court about how it went about searching for documents.

2,400 against 12,000 at Broxton Bridge

It was February 1865. Gen. William Sherman’s 12,000-man Union army was on the move toward Columbia, and the Confederate army waited at Broxton Bridge, with only 2,400 men.

The Union soldiers had no easy task. The Lowcountry’s swamps had to be crossed — in the dead of a wet winter when the swamps were full. The Confederates had destroyed the roads and bridges through the swamps, so the army had to wade through black water filled with hidden logs, cypress knees and gator holes. “Crossing that swamp in freezing weather with all the roadways blocked, it was hard to do that,” said Civil War historian Bart Chassereau, chairman of the re-enactment of the Battle of Broxton Bridge.

The Confederates were on high ground, their breastworks 30 feet above the base of the river. And members of the Texas Rangers, S.C. Calvary, Tennessee Calvary and others — 835 infantrymen, 1,000 cavalry and 300-400 artillery — had been there for two weeks, blocking all the roads and burning all the bridges through the swamp. They also had a 12-gun battery hidden at Broxton Bridge as a surprise for the Union forces. “What the Union army could see was a line of entrenchment and a few pieces of artillery,” Chassereau said. “We had the high ground, an effective cavalry force and the element of surprise.”

America’s Anti-Christian Groups Exposed by Watchdog Organization

Dark, indeed. America’s soon-to-be cultural-Marxist-in-chief would then spend the greater part of a decade waging war against our nation’s Judeo-Christian culture and heritage at levels, and in ways, unseen in our storied history. Today, his anti-Christian crusade continues unabated. In fact, and with less than two years left to complete his baleful conspiracy, this neo-pagan extremist has begun to rapidly accelerate his unravelings.

Chief among his targets for destruction are conservative and Christian organizations and individuals who pose a threat to his envisaged “fundamental transformation” of our once-Judeo-Christian nation.

1,000 Yards from a $500 Rifle–Ruger’s American Predator

 

I really despise gun writers that have no problem selling their soul to whatever company sends them a gun or product to review. I will not ever be that guy. With that being said go ahead and get prepared for a review of the Ruger American Rifle Predator edition that will make it sound like my soul was bought and paid for.

When I began this review, Ruger had asked me what caliber I wanted the Predator in and I almost went with .308, but a friend suggested that I give 6.5 Creedmoor a chance. I am glad I chose the 6.5. I’ve now fallen in love with the cartridge and the reason will become more clear the article progresses.

When I unboxed the Predator, I found a skinny little tapered barrel, a light composite stock, and a surprisingly smooth action. I say surprising because there was really nothing remarkable about the rifle other than the action. Admittedly, I did not have high expectations for the predator. It is a deceptively modest gun.

The American Rifle is known for its modest appearance and solid performance.

IRS defends paying refunds to illegals who never filed taxes

The IRS is defending its decision to let illegal immigrants claim up to three years’ refunds on income even if they never paid income taxes, telling Congress in a new letter last week that agency lawyers have concluded getting a Social Security number triggers the ability to go back and ask for previous refunds.

President Obama’s new deportation amnesty could grant Social Security numbers to as many as 4 million illegal immigrants, making many of them eligible for tax refunds under the Earned Income Tax Credit even for years when they cheated on their taxes, working off the books and refusing to file tax returns.

“Section 32 of the Internal Revenue Code requires an SSN on the return, but a taxpayer claiming the EITC is not required to have an SSN before the close of the year for which the EITC is claimed,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in his letter to Sen. Charles E. Grassley on Wednesday.

12-year-old Locked Out of Facebook After Saying Obama Doesn't Love America

CJ Pearson, a politically active 12-year-old from Augusta, Georgia, says he has been locked out of his Facebook account after posting a video saying President Barack Obama doesn't love America.

Pearson, who serves as the executive director of Young Georgians in Government, posted the video on YouTube and Facebook on February 21. As of late Sunday afternoon, the YouTube video had received 1.3 million views.

But when he woke up Friday and tried to log in to Facebook, his account was locked. He told WRDW-TV on Sunday his personal account is still locked, but not his public page.

Pearson had his editor post an update on that page for his fans.

"I am having my Editor, Alan Davidson post on my behalf on this page while Facebook continues to lock me out. The 1st mendment is obviously not a big concern to the powers at be at Facebook, but we will continue to fight back!" Pearson wrote.

Yes dear children there is an evil in the world.  It is a disease that infects the mind.  A plague that springs back no matter how may times we think we have killed it.  The infection is spread by evil men who seek power and control by sowing its spoors in the minds of the poorly educated, the weak willed, the lazy, the naïve.  They convince these poor people that their nation's problems, even their individual problems. are not because of their own ignorance or human failings.  There problems exist because they have allowed some outsiders to exist among them.  These outsiders aren't like us.  They don't look like us.  They don't eat the same foods as us.  They don't worship the same as we do. Why they even speak their own language! 

We like to think that society has made progress, especially in these last few decades.  But have we really?  We talk about diversity but it's a sham used to disguise even older prejudices.  Yes we've made progress, we're more sophisticated in our bigotry now.  We accept people of all colors and creeds just so long as they agree with our brand of political orthodoxy.  We even accept Jews!  Just so long as they aren't those evil Jews that we can label as "Zionists".  Hell we might even accept their right to exist just so long as they don't do it in their own nation!  And especially as long as they don't dare to defend themselves!  We opened our arms to them (and their money) when they marched beside us during the civil rights and anti war movements of the 1960's but should their most basic right of existence be threatened we turn our backs to them at best or worse, repeat the libels of the past.   The worst of us are those who refuse to condemn the repetition of these ancient evils even as we recognize them for what they are and know full well where they lead.

Many a nation and people in this sad old world are in trouble today and it is because WE, WE THE PEOPLE, have failed ourselves.  We have failed to guard our liberties, we have failed to be responsible for ourselves.  We have taken the easy road of listening to and  electing corrupt and greedy people who have plied us with false promises that they will guard our liberty, that they will be responsible for us, that they will provide for us at someone else's expense. 

Well now all those false promises are being exposed as the naked and deceitful lies they always were and what do we do?  Do we blame these corrupt and greedy people for there deceits and lies?  Do we purge those that stole our liberties, that led us into dependency?  No, we buy right back into the oldest of lies from the same deceitful mouths. It's not our fault, it's the "outsiders", it's the "tribe", it's the "Zionists."    Underneath it's all just new use of old words for the same old scapegoating and Jew hatred that is thousands of years old. 

In the aftermath of the Nazi horrors of  the Holocaust the entire western world joined with Europe's surviving Jews in the cry of "Never Again" and the founding of the modern state of Israel.  But now, just as our national cemeteries fill with last survivors of "the greatest generation," that evil they so sacrificed to overcome is born anew.  I don't think it is mere coincidence, but rather the fulfillment of prophesy; "Do not rejoice in his defeat, you men. The German Theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer died at the hands of the Nazis fighting this evil.  He warned us as well.  "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." 

Are there bad people in this world?  Yes.  Are some of them Jews?  Yes.  But it's not anyone's characteristic as a Jew or a German or a Russian or an American or white or black that makes them bad or even evil.  It is their personal decision to embrace evil that makes them so.  If we want to find the causes of the worlds problems and their solutions, we had best start with a long gaze into the mirror and remove the splinter from our own eye first.  Anyone who tells you that the solutions lie in victimhood, and condemning others for who or what they are by the accident of their birth is an idiot and a fool or a deliberate agent of evil seeking to lead you into its trap.

Must you be a NC politician or can South Carolina Republicans now run up (limousined) to NC for a “fix”? The chosen analogy of a sex act having no monetary value does not compute with a politician getting a free flight to Fiji, or other such medium for which someone must pay for a service or ‘device’.

 

Also, must be non-gender specific to apply to the gay/lesbian political element, as well as religious or race non-specific. This is the Party of the Big Tent, had you forgotten?

Family plans most likely will be offered as well. 

Incurred medical expenses or extended care will be covered by the taxpayers of NC. Those arranged “dates” aren’t free for someone.
