A truck driver who claimed to be hauling strawberries aboard his tractor trailer from Mexico into the U.S. was arrested Saturday after customs officers stationed at a border crossing found nearly $13 million worth of methamphetamine on board.

The driver, a 42-year-old Mexican man, was flagged down and inspected by a Customs and Border Protection officer working at the Pharr International Bridge.

The truck was directed to the cargo processing center's massive, noninvasive X-ray machine, which CBP uses to scan a vehicle for illegal items without having to open it up. The truck was moved to the cargo processing center's docks where drug-sniffing dogs alerted law enforcement to narcotics.

There is a national emergency, and the Judiciary should expedite its role

The fuse on this issue has been burning for more than a score of years.  Some of the wreckage of the coming explosion has yet to occur, but aspects of the crisis are plainly evident; the foundational nation of laws concept is already compromised via Sanctuary cities.

Sanctuary cities are evidence of the damage done to America because Congress has failed in its responsibility to legislate, and the Executive branch has failed in its enforcement of law.  But even worse, the states and cities have decided to take the “law” into their own hands and literally ignore, and in some cases help violators to prosper and survive!  So what exactly qualifies an entity or person to act officially contrary to law?  Is vigilante justice ok because the criminal justice system is in cardiac arrest?

Further, the present system is so contorted that laws intended to defend citizens rights are being used to defend law breakers who are not citizens!  The actual sovereignty of this nation is challenged because our borders seem to have no meaning in terms of who may enter this nation.  While some use 11 million, Katie Pavlich used the figure of 22 million on FOX NEW SUNDAY and was NOT challenged by Chris Wallace or anyone else.

Roberts And Kavanaugh’s Death Penalty Betrayal Again Shows Why Conservatives Never Win The Long Game On Judges

Via Billy

It seems clear that the Chief Justice and Justice Kavanaugh are already duking it out to see who can better anoint himself the "new Anthony Kennedy."

How many betrayals from Republican-nominated Supreme Court Justices will it take to finally convince conservatives that the judicial deck is systemically stacked against us in such a way that we will simply never ultimately prevail?

Harry Blackmun, who authored the murderous atrocity of Roe v. Wade, was a Republican judicial nominee. John Paul Stevens, a leftist lion for decades on the Supreme Court, was a Republican judicial nominee. Anthony Kennedy, who did more than anyone to disingenuously codify the homosexual rights agenda into the Fourteenth Amendment, was a Republican judicial nominee. The infamous turncoat David Souter was a Republican judicial nominee.

Hungary attacks Soros, Juncker in new media campaign

Hungary launched a new anti-immigration media campaign on Tuesday in which it accused George Soros and EU Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker of allegedly supporting illegal migration, but which Brussels immediately dismissed as "fake news".

According to the Hungarian government's Facebook page, the media blitz -- funded with taxpayers' money -- is expected to include billboard posters featuring images of the liberal US billionaire Soros and a smiling Juncker above the words: "You too have a right to know what Brussels is preparing".

"They want to bring in the mandatory settlement quota; weaken member states' rights to border defence; facilitate immigration with a migrant visa," it continues.

Good Luck: It’s Too Late. You’ve Lost Your Guns.

Last week, a reader named Amy left a comment on the Protecting Your Family post that said:

“I used to think the same way as you with regard to this thought: “I definitely want you to be able to keep your guns, but….”

But you know what, now I do want to take your guns away. Why do you need them? I want to take them all away. I live each day with a pit in my stomach as I send my young children to school. Why do we have to live like this? Maybe we should start having an honest conversation about wanting to take ALL THE GUNS AWAY!!!!!!!”

And I replied with this comment:

Shanahan works to find Pentagon money for border barriers without affecting military families

The language itself is very simple,” said Shanahan. “In effect it says to support military operations, you have the discretion to utilize military construction funds, and it’s basically that broad.” Shanahan says the Joint Staff will be conducting a careful “mission analysis” to determine how the military can support the Department of Homeland Security and how the funds can be spent legally. “We are following the law, using the rules, and we're not bending the rules,” he said.

THE HUNT IS ON: Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan is discovering firsthand — if he wasn’t already well aware — that one of the principal tasks that falls to any defense secretary serving President Trump is turning his pronouncements unpopular in the Pentagon into policy that is more palatable to the military and its supporters.

Contested Ground: Southern Identity and the Southern Tradition

Home again, hIn the popular imagination the South is viewed as a region typified by racism, poverty, and ignorance save a few special islands, such as Chapel Hill and Charlotte, which lay in the archipelago of enlightenment.  There are some cracks in this edifice of Yankee bigotry, but when political and cultural wars become heated, the edifice is trotted out once more to remind the American people as to who wears the white hats and who wears black. None of this, of course, conforms to the far more complex reality from which Southern culture and identity emerged.

Before examining the commonalities that give coherence to the South, it is crucial to understand the important realities of ethnic and cultural diversity that have always been a hallmark of the region.  Of the eleven American nations scholars have identified, five are located in the South: the Tidewater, Greater Appalachia, the Deep South, New France, El Norte, and the Spanish Caribbean.  There is not one Southern accent, but at least eleven different regional dialects.  The South is also home to at least five major culinary traditions.  There is no doubt that the peoples of the British Isles have left the deepest cultural imprint upon the South, but crucial contributions to Southern culture and tradition have also been made by people of African, German, French, and Spanish descent.  Here is true diversity, not the current pretend variety where a community celebrates differences, as long as everyone thinks and acts within a rigid ideological template.
