Shocking The Conscience: The Hammond Story

Via Knuckledraggin' My Life Away

“I find it incredible that the government would want to try these ranchers as terrorists…Now is where the rubber meets the road. Right now, is when the public should absolutely be incensed. And the public, I think, should be fearful.”  ~Barry Bushue, President, Oregon Farm Bureau

We reported on Duane Ehmer’s last ride to destination Hell (prison) on his horse, Hellboy.

Duane stated that the main purpose of his ride was, not to call attention to the injustice being heaped on him by a corrupt federal justice system, but to call attention to the plight of the Hammonds, the ranching family in Oregon.

To extract the maximum amount of benefit from Duane’s last ride, the sacrifice of LaVoy Finicum, who laid down his life for reasons related to the Hammonds and the greater cause of liberty, and the sacrifice made by the Bundys and many others, it is time to revisit the Hammond story and how it ties into the bigger picture.

The following is an excerpt from a 1946 pamphlet dedicated to the Public Schools of North Carolina by the Anson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy in honor of its author, Dr. Henry Tucker Graham of Florence, South Carolina.  Dr. Graham was the former president of Hampden-Sydney College and for twenty years the beloved pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Florence, South Carolina.  Not noted below is the initial Stamp Act resistance at Wilmington, North Carolina in November 1765.

The North Busy Rewriting History

“There is grave danger that our school children are learning much more about Massachusetts than about the Carolinas, and hearing more often of northern leaders than of the splendid men who led the Southern hosts alike in peace and war. Not many years ago the High School in an important South Carolina town devoted much time to the celebration of Lincoln’s Birthday — while Lee, Jackson, Hampton and George Washington received no mention.

You have all heard of Paul Revere’s ride made famous by the skillful pen of a New England writer. He rode 7 miles out of Boston, ran into a squadron of British horsemen and was back in a British dungeon before daybreak. But how many of you have heard of Jack Jouitte’s successful and daring ride of forty miles from a wayside tavern to Charlottesville to warn Governor [Thomas] Jefferson and the Legislature of the coming of a British squadron bent upon their capture?

You have heard of the Boston Tea Party, but how many know of the Wilmington, North Carolina Tea Party [of 1774]? At Boston they disguised themselves as Indians and under cover of darkness threw tea overboard. At Wilmington they did the same thing without disguise and in broad daylight.

With the utter disregard of the facts they blandly claim that the republic was founded at Plymouth Rock while all informed persons know that Plymouth was 13-1/2 years behind the times, and when its colony was reduced to a handful of half-starved immigrants on the bleak shores of Massachusetts, there was a prosperous colony of 2,000 people along the James [River] under the sunlit skies of the South.

The fact is that New England has been so busy writing history that it hasn’t had time to make it. While the South has been so busy making history that it hasn’t had time to write it.”

(Some Things For Which The South Did Not Fight, in the War Between the States.” Dr. Henry Tucker Graham, Pamphlet of Anson County, North Carolina Chapter UDC, 1946)

Scott Adams: Trump's 'Very Stable Genius' Tweet Was 'Absolutely Genius'

Via David

President Trump smiles

Dilbert creator Scott Adams explained in a Periscope video Saturday that President Trump's latest string of tweets was an example of his absolute genius. He said the president had been backed into a corner by the left's framing of him as "crazy and stupid." The least persuasive thing a person can do to fight such attacks, according to Adams, is to protest that he's not crazy and stupid -- because the only words people will remember are "crazy and stupid."

So what does the president do to avoid being branded by the left as crazy and stupid?

"The mainstream media doesn't understand what they just saw!" Adams declared.

Trump has put Schumer in a no-win situation on DACA

How do Democrats explain to themselves the way they keep getting outsmarted by a man they claim is a moron?  President Trump has Democrats exactly where he wants them on the issue of DACA. Even PBS gets it:
With a new deadline fast approaching, Democrats in Congress are struggling to adopt a unified strategy to protect hundreds of thousands of young immigrants from deportation.
Their inaction has enraged liberal activists across the country, who have shifted their anger in recent days from Republicans who control Congress to Democrats seeking to balance their commitment to a progressive priority with their desire to avoid an explosive government shutdown heading into the 2018 midterm elections.

Isn’t there ONE person in this parade who stops and asks, “what the hell are we doing?”

After The Fire

The deep state, the intelligence and investigative apparatus of the United States has been used to attempt a coup on a then prospective and now sitting president. This is as dangerous a time for the republic as has ever been in our history and it goes by with a shrug. Maybe these people will be held accountable, maybe they won't, but we are irreparably damaged by the knowledge of it. It is why so many of us saw the ultimate election of Hillary Clinton as a demarcation point in our willingness to go along with this sham of a government.

There is some thought that Sessions will ultimately, through a special counsel or some other functionary get to the bottom of this coup, but the true fact is, they should already be lined up against the wall. What Comey, et al did was much more serious than a few felonies, the violation of FBI policy, or something akin to crossing against the light. This was an attempt at the highest levels to rig an election, overthrow the government and install a permanent police state much more aggressive than we have already seen. The startling fact of it is, they thought they could do so without a shot being fired, except at those like Seth Rich. And, they were right. It nearly worked.

At West Hunter, Greg Cochran mentions one of the weirder recent findings in race genomics: some Amerindians, from roughly Panama to Brazil have a moderate amount of ancestry that is most similar to that of the pygmy negritos of the Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean:
One very important point, naturally mentioned in none of the press accounts, is is what they didn’t see: the Alaskan kid didn’t have any of the Australo-Melanesian, Andamanese-like component that exists in Amazonian Indians today.
The Andamanese appear representative of an early wave of anatomically modern humans that settled the coastline of the Indian Ocean, getting to New Guinea and Australia. This early wave may even have gone up the coast of East Asia.

Judge dismisses charges against Cliven Bundy, orders him freed from prison

A federal judge on Monday dismissed the charges against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, his two sons and a militia member for their role in a 2014 standoff with federal officers.

Judge Gloria Navarro dismissed the charges against the men “with prejudice,” meaning they can't be put on trial again, The Arizona Republic reported. She said the conduct of prosecutors in the case had been "outrageous" and violated due process rights.

Navarro also ordered Bundy be released from prison.

A construction company that built one of the eight border wall prototypes for the Trump administration says it's ready and able to build a 700-mile continuous wall from the Pacific Ocean in California through western Texas in a six-year period.

The Fisher Sand and Gravel Company told the Department of Homeland Security in the fall that it is willing to take on that task for $12.2 billion. Fisher has a plan to attain all project materials, manpower, and even a warranty for the wall, the company's president, Tommy Fisher, told the Washington Examiner on Friday.

"We're not advocating for a hodgepodge type of border system," Fisher said, referring to comments from DHS about using technology and sensors at select parts of the border instead of a wall.
