You will note at my YouTube channel that I posted this video on the morning of September 24, 2016. And on the Oath Keepers national website, where I have been the senior editor for seven years. Some hours later, owing to some dissent among Oath Keepers national leadership, the video was marked “Private” and removed for an undetermined period of time, after which the video may, or may not, be returned to public visibility at the Oath Keepers national website. The last of the American signers of the Declaration of Independence to pass from this world, Charles Carroll of Carroll was also one of the most formally educated of the American founders. Living seventeen years in France and England, Carroll earned his B.A. in the traditional liberal arts and an M.A. in philosophy. He also studied civil law in France and common law in England. Irish immigrants to the English American colonies, the Carrolls suffered at the hands of anti-Catholic bigots in Maryland for three generations.

When Charles Carroll of Carrollton came into the world, his parents remained unmarried because of the law, and they chose to send their only son to live in France. Had they educated him in Maryland, the authorities had the legal sanction to remove children—taught in a “Catholic fashion”—from the parents and place them permanently with English Protestants. Though America has inherited the title, “the land of the free,” its thirteen English colonies were anything but tolerant. More than any other colony, Maryland promoted religious toleration for nearly three decades of the seventeenth century, but a coup in the name of William and Mary in 1689 ended that for nearly a century. Maryland went from being one of the single most tolerant societies in the world to one of the least tolerant almost overnight.

Sgt. Derrick Miller, 27, of Hagerstown, MD, was convicted this past week of the premeditated murder of an Afghan man in 2010. The husband and father of two was assigned to a Connecticut National Guard unit and attached to the 101st Airborne Division at the time of the shooting in Eastern Afghanistan. After joining the National Guard in 2006, Miller had three combat deployments and had recently been promoted.

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. - A US Army National Guardsman was sentenced yesterday to life in prison with the chance of parole for the murder of an Afghan civilian.

Sergeant Derrick Miller, 27, of Hagerstown, Md., shook hands with several soldiers in his unit after the 10-member military jury delivered the sentence after two hours of deliberation. He was found guilty of premeditated murder.

Clue #1 to smelling yet another rat in our military justice system. Miller is still on good terms with fellow soldiers. Would several soldiers want to shake hands with a "premeditated murderer"?

His attorney had argued during two days of testimony that Miller acted in self-defense when he shot a man last September. The military has identified him as Atta Mohammed but his name was not used in court.

Defense attorney Charles Gittins told the jury that Miller stopped the man for questioning when he walked through a defensive perimeter that Miller’s unit had set up around a mortar unit.

What was an innocent bystander doing walking through a defensive perimeter?

Gittins said Miller believed the man could be a threat to his unit and that during questioning the man tried to grab Miller’s weapon.

Regardless of who wins in 2016, this revolution’s sentiments will grow in volume and intensity, and are sure to empower politicians likely to make Americans nostalgic for Donald Trump’s moderation.

Over the past half century, the Reagan years notwithstanding, our ruling class’s changing preferences and habits have transformed public and private life in America. As John Marini shows in his essay, “Donald Trump and the American Crisis,” this has resulted in citizens morphing into either this class’s “stakeholders” or its subjects. And, as Publius Decius Mus argues, “America and the West” now are so firmly “on a trajectory toward something very bad” that it is no longer reasonable to hope that “all human outcomes are still possible,” by which he means restoration of the public and private practices that made the American republic. In fact, the 2016 election is sealing the United States’s transition from that republic to some kind of empire.

There was a popular saying among intelligence officers during the Iran-contra affair: How do you know an Iranian is lying? Because his lips are moving.

It was applied to Manucher Ghorbanifar, the mercurial intermediary; and to his boss, the so-called “moderate” Parliament speaker, Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani, who told Ghorbanifar he wanted to make a deal with America all the while he helped organize hostage-takings and terrorist attacks against Americans.

Hillary Clinton’s debate performance reminded me of that saying, because every time she opened her mouth to lay out her opposition research on Donald Trump, she lied or misrepresented the truth to such an extent it became unrecognizable.

American voters aren’t quite as stupid as Clinton (or the “insiders” at Politico) think, and as a slew of after-event polls showed, they weren’t falling for her lies about Trump, her phony statistics, or her breath-taking claim that life in America’s inner-cities has improved over the past twenty years. Or that her plan to raise taxes on the middle class and businesses will help the middle class and create jobs.

Images have emerged following Monday night’s 2016 presidential debate between Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton and GOP nominee Donald Trump that are fueling widespread speculation online that Clinton may have been wired for the event.

And some say she may have been wearing a battery pack, an earpiece, a microphone and a wire.

Charisma News cited a Reuters image that it said appeared to reveal a flesh-colored earpiece in her left ear.

Charlotte rioters don’t care if shooting was justified

The Charlotte rioters didn’t know whether the controversial police shooting of Keith Scott was justified, and didn’t care.

They worked their mayhem — trashing businesses and injuring cops, with one protester killed in the disorder — before anything meaningful could be ascertained about the case except that the cops said Scott had a gun and his family said he didn’t.

Charlotte is the latest episode in the evidence-free Black Lives Matter movement that periodically erupts in violence after officer-involved shootings. The movement is beholden to a narrative of systematic police racism to which every case is made to conform, regardless of the facts or logic.

To be held in the beautiful mountains east of Westcliffe October 7-9th will be the Southern Colorado Patcon. Thanks to the generosity of two incredible people, we have secured some property on which to hold the Patcon.  Though secluded, there is a large open area, plenty of room to camp, some water available. I don't know that a fire will be allowed, given the burn restrictions often in effect in the Colorado mountains, so one should be prepared to cook via propane or sterno.

The midday meal on Saturday will be provided and at least one porta john available. There are accommodations available in Westcliffe for those who do not choose to camp out.

Our friends at True Pundit reported a month ago that Hillary’s lawyers worked out a “sweet deal” for Clinton, guaranteeing she would not be asked “cross-examination” questions by the moderator.

At all.

This would allow Clinton, who cannot handle stressful questions, to memorize canned answers and rattle them off during the debate.
