The Leadership of Fools

Via Richard

It has been said that a nation can be judged by the way it treats foreigners within its borders. But more importantly, a nation can and should be judged by its elected leaders and their actions. I intend to go through approximately fifty years of elected non-leaders known as President of the United States and examine some of their actions. The side of the aisle which they claim to align themselves with is irrelevant, because they’re all members of the same fraternity. Partisanship will take no part with regard to their acts because there is really only one side of the aisle. A simple evaluation of the poor conduct, policies and/or actions of these individuals should suffice.

I must reiterate, I will dwell on the bad and not the good; the good actions of a leader are by far outweighed by the bad. Our leaders, in this case the President of the United States, should be held to a higher standard than the rest of the population. If a leader acts in a corrupt or malevolent fashion, then this is where the focus will be directed. I believe this should actually prove to be quite interesting. Article II, Section 4, of the Constitution states, “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

Their action or inaction and lack of leadership skills will be bared for all to see. This will show what type of man each president was. This should also shed some light on what the problem with the United States is, our leadership and government, as well as our own stupidity, for allowing this to continue.

It’s Back to School, Kids! Now Write Down This Stuff That Never Happened

 Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

It’s back to school time, and you know what that means.

“Why, children, where would we be without our wise public servants? You’d all be working in mines for ten cents a day, and the rest of us would be dead from poisoned sandwiches or exploding computer monitors.”

Suppose Walmart funded and administered the schools, with portraits of the the various Walmart CEOs smiling benignly upon the children from the classroom wall, and students taught to credit these men for every good thing about America.

We’d find that creepy.

But when it’s U.S. presidents on the wall, and the U.S. government credited with all that’s good and decent, that natural skepticism goes right out the window.

No doubt millions of kids are about to learn that the free market caused the Great Depression, and that “greed” explains financial crises. (Why aren’t we constantly in a financial crisis, then?)

They’ll learn that the New Deal restored the economy, even though unemployment remained in the double digits throughout the 1930s.

They won’t be told how the New Deal’s suspension of the antitrust laws to create cartels and artificially prop up prices made economic sense, or why slaughtering millions of pigs or paying farmers to plow their cotton back into the ground could have made people better off.

They’ll learn about the “robber barons” and “monopoly” in the 19th century. This will be mostly fact free, as I’ve noted on my show and in my books.

I myself remember leaving junior high school wondering how anyone could favor a laissez-faire economy. Why, haven’t they seen those pictures of terrible working conditions? That was as far as I was capable of taking the analysis.

Students will likewise learn that political decentralization is backward, stupid, and oppressive, and that centralized government is liberating.

This despite the fact that states used the power of nullification against the federal government in defense of free speech and free trade, and in opposition to slavery and unconstitutional searches and seizures.

State nullification will be portrayed as a “Confederate” cause, even though New England appealed to it more often than the South did, and even though Jefferson Davis denounced northern nullification of fugitive slave laws in his farewell speech to the Senate.

I’m not a Rush Limbaugh fan, but his best line of all time, uttered after being told that his show ought to give the other side equal time, is this: “I am equal time.”

So’s my Liberty Classroom.

I can’t do anything about teachers who are dead set on inflicting comic-book history on hapless kids. Same for the professors who are gearing up to do it in college.

But I can provide the truth to people who want it. I can inoculate you and your children against this foolishness.

Let me be blunt: almost no one knows even the small sprinkling of history in just this email.

There are volumes and volumes more where that came from. Listen on your commute, and make that time productive.

The world’s only hope:

I was democrat born and raised.  Thanks to my education (lack of a better term) I was somewhere between liberal to leftist.   As the inimitable Bob Wallace of Uncle Bob's Treehouse said "They are neither new nor conservative."

In the '80's my concept of conservatives or the right wing was formed by the antics of the neo-cons.  I believed and still believe that American foreign policy has been one big disaster.  It seemed that the left wing addressed those issues but for the wrong reasons.

A Lawless President Made More Secret Deals

Via Billy

http://thelastgreatstand.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/obama-lawless-president-renegade-antichrist.jpg

A new report revealed by Reuters shows that there were more secret deals made with Iran, and not reported to Congress, in violation of US law.  The President of the United States has knowingly and repeatedly violated a law he himself signed, for the express purpose of avoiding Congressional oversight of his actions mandated both by the law and the Constitution.

During the so-called “Iran Deal” negotiations, it became known that the State Department had agreed to allow Iran to make a “secret side deal” with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to which the United States would not be a party.  The intent was to dodge a provision of the law governing the “Iran Deal”‘s negotiation, a law that President Barack Obama had himself signed into law.  He signed this into law in the hope of avoiding the Constitutional requirement that the Senate should advise and assent to treaties by a two-thirds majority.  The law he negotiated as an alternative to obeying the Constitution required that the entire deal, including any side arrangements, be made available to Congress for consideration before approval.

This Is Not Your Government

 http://www.economicnoise.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/lawtiat-quote-picture.jpg?9d3a8d

This is not your government. Those who live in the United States do so out of convenience, it is where their house is, their apartment, etc., but they do not live under the authority of the United States Government, because that does not exist.  Those who reside within the borders of the United States live under a despotic rule of Supreme Court justices, regulators, random judges, presidential decree and Fed policy.

There is no politician in the land responsive to the people.  This is how Donald Trump gained the Republican nomination, because folks were fed up with calling their congressperson seeking redress only to be sold out as soon as the votes were counted.  US citizens are not constituents in the normal vernacular, they are simply voters, you know, those folks who come around every two to four years and validate all of the larceny that has taken place in the past two to four years.

The trouble with voters is they don't have to be citizens (oh, technically yes, but realistically, NO).  They don't have to pay taxes.  They don't have to actually live in the United States, all they have to do is vote. If you do not vote the right way, the politicians can import other voters from, say, Mexico, Syria, etc and they will vote the way the politicians want.

Trump Camp Mulls Using Seized Cartel Assets to Pay for Wall

To fund construction of a new U.S. border wall, Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering various ideas, including the use of assets seized from drug cartels and others in the illicit drug trade.

As the debate over who will pay for the wall dominates the discussion on cable news, sources involved in the pre-planning of the GOP nominee’s Mexico trip told LifeZette the Trump camp is looking for innovative ways to pay for the construction of the border wall that both countries can support. Sensitivities in Mexico regarding Trump’s visit, and specifically paying for the border wall, are running high.

Sacla’ Stage a Surprise Opera in a School Lunch Hall

Via Sister Anne

Sacla' the Pesto Pioneers and Italian foodies favourite, served up a great surprise at a Buckinghamshire primary school and staged an impromptu Opera in the canteen one lunch time.

Four secret opera singers, disguised as canteen staff, broke into song bringing the room to a standstill with a rousing medley of the Italian classics by Verdi, Puccini and Rossini.

From soaring soprano to booming baritone, the singers’ stunning performance thrilled the unsuspecting school children whose shocked and surprised reactions were captured on camera by a six strong film crew behind the scenes.

The New Poll Tax: Ballot Access Laws Foil Independent Candidates

Via Peter

'nuff said.

There is no free market of ideas, candidates, or political parties on Election Day.

It's not for a lack of demand. According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post survey, 57 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the choice between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton; 44 percent say they would prefer a third-party candidate to run. A recent Associated Press/University of Chicago poll revealed that 71 percent of millennials want an alternative to the Republican and Democrat nominees.
In another survey, Public Policy Polling matched "a giant meteor hitting the earth" against Clinton and Trump. The killer asteroid nabbed 13 percent of the vote, far more than any third party now ballot qualified.
The establishment parties benefit from strict ballot access laws that make it difficult for alternative candidates to participate in elections. In order to get on the ballot, independent and third party candidates must meet a variety of byzantine state-specific filing requirements. Complex stipulations and regulations determine whether voters will be able to choose from a larger pool of parties and candidates.

Georgetown University will offer admissions advantage to descendants of slaves it sold

Via sauced07

Georgetown University announced Thursday that it will be offering "preferential status in the admissions process" to descendants of the 272 slaves the university sold in 1838, The New York Times reported. The sale, which the Times noted would be "worth about $3.3 million in today's dollars," helped Georgetown to pay off its debts during a financially difficult time. Slaves were taken off of plantations in Maryland and sent to Louisiana estates.

Trump in speech on immigration: 'There will be no amnesty' for those in US illegally

Rudy Giuliani & Sen. Jeff Sessions wear "Make Mexico Great Again Also" hat prior to Trump speech. Idea came from Trump.

Donald Trump tried to move past a week of vacillating on immigration, his signature issue, by asserting in a speech Wednesday that the question of what to do with 11 million people in the U.S illegally is not central to the problem.

"Anyone who tells you that the core issue is the needs of those living here illegally has simply spent too much time in Washington," Trump said to cheers from thousands of supporters here at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Trump also promised no amnesty for millions of people living in the country illegally, vowing to remove them if he becomes president and warning that failure to do so would jeopardize the "well-being of the American people."

Some of his loudest applause came when he said what he'd do his first day in office.

"Day one, my first hour in office, those people are gone," Trump said of undocumented immigrants. "And you can call it deported if you want ... you can call it whatever the hell you want, they're gone."

Trump said that President Barack Obama's and Hillary Clinton's policies are to blame for "countless American" deaths at the hands of immigrants in the country illegally. He said the main problem with the immigration system is that it serves the needs of wealthy donors, interest groups and politicians.

Across Syrian Kurdish Regions, a Sense of Betrayal by Washington Is Setting In

Via Billy

The Pentagon’s decision to arm a mostly Syrian Kurdish force has paid big dividends in northern Syria, where the Islamic State has been on the run in recent months. Backed by U.S. air power, Kurdish-led offensives have captured important pieces of the radical group’s “caliphate,” including the town of Manbij this month.

Then Turkish tanks and warplanes entered Syria last week and began targeting the Kurds, their long-standing enemy. But what happened next blindsided Kurdish leaders: Their American allies sided with the Turks — and ordered the Kurdish forces to hand over hard-won territory.

VA Offers Anti-Corruption Whistleblower $305,000 To Go Away

After ethics officials blocked the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from firing a woman who refused to lie for top bosses, the bosses took a different tack: paying her $305,000 to quit and agree not to apply to the VA again.

Her bosses tried to force Rosayma Lopez to write a critical report to be used to terminate Joseph Colon, who had exposed the drunk-driving and illegal-prescription drug arrest of Dewayne Hamlin, director of the VA’s hospital in San Juan.

When Lopez said she would stick to the facts, her bosses filed the termination paperwork intended for Colon against her instead.

Legal Experts: Allowing DHS to Secure Elections Would Set a Dangerous Precedent

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson's suggestion that state and local voting systems be designated as “pieces of critical infrastructure” so that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can protect them from hackers is unconstitutional and would create a dangerous precedent, legal experts said.

“The Department of Homeland Security does not have the legal authority to interfere with states’ election systems without their permission,” University of California/Berkeley School of Law Professor John Yoo told CNSNews.com.

“While the federal government has the general power to protect the nation’s cyber infrastructure, it cannot intrude into areas of state sovereignty without clear constitutional mandate.

Just when you thought that social justice warriors couldn’t get anymore insane, this woman goes and gets triggered by a Hawaiian dashboard doll bobble-head.

Why? Well because it’s offensive of course!

The woman filming, a porn CEO named Annaliese Nielsen, put up a big fuss about the doll, claiming it somehow offended her, and said the driver, who was of Asian descent, was exercising his white male privilege by refusing to take it down.

Hobby Lobby CEO Backs Trump: One judge away from losing religious liberty

Via Billy

Donald Trump is our only hope for a Supreme Court that will protect freedom of religion.

Since the birth of our nation, religious liberty has laid the foundation for America to become the freest society in the history of mankind.

This spirit of freedom began when the pilgrims fled to the New World to practice their faith freely. It continued when America’s founding fathers ratified the Bill of Rights, which begins with the declaration that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” It was strengthened when Congress almost unanimously adopted the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, ensuring that interests in religious freedom are protected. And it thankfully endured through the Supreme Court case Burwell v. Hobby Lobby.

At issue in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby was the Affordable Care Act’s Health and Human Service Mandate, which would have required our family business to provide and facilitate four potentially life-terminating drugs and devices in our health insurance plan, against our religious convictions, or pay severe fines of $1.3 million a day. Unlike the 16 contraceptives we do provide, these four drugs can take effect after conception, which is where we believe life begins.

"You Can't Play With Johnny Anymore"

Re-post 2011
There was a time until the early 1960s when the terms to describe those of African decent, like me -- African-American or Black or Afro-American -- were almost unheard of.
I remember a distinct conversation with a friend discussing descriptive terms for ourselves in 1963 or ’64. The term “black” was just coming into vogue and he didn’t like it one bit. “Call me a Negro,” he said, “but don’t call me black.”
Now, the word “Negro” (publications used a lower case “n”) has almost become a pejorative, so I was a little surprised when my pastor, the Rev. Willie Reid, used it during Thursday’s revival. “Back when we were Negroes,” he said, and listed several things that were different about black life in America back then.
That got me to thinking. Back when we were Negroes in the 1950s, “only 9 percent of black families with children were headed by a single parent,” according to “The Black Family: 40 Years of Lies” by Kay Hymowitz. “Black children had a 52 percent chance of living with both their biological parents until age 17. In 1959, “only 2 percent of black children were reared in households in which the mother never married.” But now that we’re African-Americans, according to Hymowitz, those odds of living with both parents had “dwindled to a mere 6 percent” by the mid-1980s. And check this, in Bibb County, more than 70 percent of the births in the African-American community are to single mothers.
Back when we were Negroes and still fighting in many parts of the country for the right to vote, we couldn’t wait for the polls to open. We knew our friends, family and acquaintances had died getting us the ballot. Dogs and fire hoses were used to keep us away and still we came. But now that we’re African-Americans, in a city of 47,000 registered -- predominately black voters -- more than 30,000 didn’t show up at the polls July 19.
Back when we were Negroes, we had names like Joshua, Aaron, Paul, Esther, Melba, Cynthia and Ida. Now that we are African Americans, our names are bastardized versions of alcohol from Chivas to Tequila to C(S)hardonney. And chances the names have an unusual spelling.
Back when we were Negroes, according to the Trust For America’s Health’s “F as in Fat,” report, “only four states had diabetes rates above 6 percent. ... The hypertension rates in 37 states about 20 years ago were more than 20 percent.”
Now that we’re African-Americans, that report shows, “every state has a hypertension rate of more than 20 percent, with nine more than 30 percent. Forty-three states have diabetes rates of more than 7 percent, and 32 have rates above 8 percent. Adult obesity rates for blacks topped 40 percent in 15 states, 35 percent in 35 states and 30 percent in 42 states and Washington, D.C.
Back when we were Negroes, the one-room church was the community center that everyone used. Now that we’re African-Americans, our churches have lavish -- compared to back-in-the-day churches -- community centers that usually sit empty because the last thing the new church wants to do is invite the community in.
Back when we were Negroes, we didn’t have to be convinced that education was the key that opened the lock of success, but now that we’re African-Americans, more than 50 percent of our children fail to graduate high school. In Bibb County last year, the system had a dropout rate of 53,4 percent.
Back when we were Negroes, the last thing a young woman wanted to look like was a harlot and a young man a thug, but now that we’re African-Americans, many of our young girls dress like hootchie mamas and our young boys imitate penitentiary custom and wear their pants below the butt line.
If I could reverse all of the above by trading the term “African-American” for “Negro,” what do you think I’d do?
