Feinstein angling for new defacto Sedition Act

You are not a "real Journalist" unless you draw a salary and have some sort of "professional qualifications" - a distinction she is trying to push to separate "Journalism" from "Free Speech".

We did this already, a long, long time ago.  It was called the Alien & Sedition Acts.

It prompted the Virginia & Kentucky Resolutions penned by Jefferson and Madison.

You want to start a war in America, this is a good way to get it done.

It will not be a war like the Revolution.

It'll be a purge.  It'll be a Reign of Terror.  It'll be a cleansing of the parasites.

I don't make the rules, I simply observe and understand  Human Nature and the circumstances currently in play.

Today InTempo has 94% of its structure completed, but the 47-story skyscraper doesn't have a single elevator shaft.

The InTempo, a 47-story building in Alicante, Spain, has had its construction fraught with problems, including allegations of fraud from both customers and suppliers, who are owed $3.3 million What goes up must walk down.

In what will surely go down in history as one the greatest architectural blunders, the town of Benidorm in Alicante, Spain, had almost completed its 47-story skyscraper when it realized it excluded plans for elevator shafts

Immigrant newspaper attacks League of the South, praises pro-amnesty mayor

 

A Spanish-language newspaper in Savannah, Georgia called La Voz Latina ('The Latina Voice') which says it exists 'for the Latino community' of the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina has a lengthy two page editorial in its August edition (see page 6) attacking the League of the South and praising Uvalda Mayor Paul Bridges. The article is written by John Newton (in fact, most of the writers for the newspaper have English names).

PRO-AMNESTY MAYOR PRAISED FOR ACTIVISM

The editorial in question is mostly a fluff piece which praises the unpopular mayor of Uvalda for his pro-amnesty activism on behalf of the Third World immigrants who are displacing the native Southern people of Georgia. Hispanic immigrants now make up over 8.8% of the population of Georgia and many rural areas of the State in particular are already demographically non-Southern. 

Mayor Bridges ran for office of his small Georgia town as a 'conservative' but once in office sided with Left-wing, anti-White organisations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center and the National Immigration Law Center in a legal suit against the State of Georgia over its strict immigration law. 

Predictably, the US Federal court system sided with the mayor, the Left-wing groups and illegal immigrants against the people of the State of Georgia. 

The mayor has also taken his case for the demographic displacement of Georgians to the US media in articles and videos in which he theorised that an American is a 'concept' and 'rainbows.' He has impeded efforts by local law enforcement in Uvalda and the surrounding county to crack down on illegal immigration and immigrant crime. La Voz Latina describes Bridges as 'a gentle man who speaks softly and seldom raises his voice.' It claims that he 'has lots of friends in South Georgia and throughout the country' and 'defend[s] the rights of all the residents of his farming community regardless of their skin color.' The editorial concludes with the line 'Paul needs your prayers.' One would get the impression from the article that Mayor Bridges is a heroic and beloved folk hero when in fact he is opposed by the city council of Uvalda, the local police and most of the people of the town. He has little power because of his unpopularity and is currently serving the final year of his term in office. As the article notes 'Paul Bridges finds himself ostracized by the other members of Uvalda's city government including the mayor pro-tem and all five council members.' Given his support for amnesty and Third World immigration it is highly doubtful that the mayor has a bright political future in rural Georgia.

Solutions - Follow Up to The Home Invasion Dilemma

 

 

Following my recent post ‘The Home Invasion Dilemma - Discussion& Scenarios’ I have received many comments asking me for the ‘solution’ and pointing out that the scenario as laid out in my article is a no-win situation, or at least one with no good outcome. 

 

Well, there are two solutions to the scenario laid out. It’s just that you may not like either of them. That is really the point isn’t it? The scenario ‘as laid out’ is actually the situation that most of us find ourselves in, so if we are victims of a HIT raid these are the choices we face. As such, it really points out the unacceptable situation we live in today, suffering from this authoritarian tyranny. As one commenter described: “Something has just gone seriously wrong in the US culturally, a mild discursive / ideological pseudo-mental illness that may not be healed any time soon.”

 

Within the parameters of the scenario, a scenario that most of you would likely find yourselves in if faced by a HIT raid, there are the following solutions:

Bloomberg group resorts to stealth membership drive

Having cities sign up for Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition in a way that sneaks the act through -- and bypasses concerned citizens being able to make alternative views known -- may be the newest tactic the group is employing, if what happened at the last Palo Alto City Council meeting is any indication. The San Jose Mercury News reported yesterday that this was done by breaking established protocol during the oral communications portion of the meeting, where details of what is to be discussed are not included on posted agendas, thus leaving no way for gun rights activists to know official activities that affect them are being planned.

Exercising what he called “personal privilege,” Mayor Greg Scharff signed the MAIG membership form following the orchestrated urgings of “gun control” activists who showed up to "demand a plan."

Scharff’s enlistment, and the publicity it generates, is a needed shot in the arm for the group following some embarrassing high-profile defections.

Bloomberg and his anti-gun group tried to buy off mayor

After seeing the Fox News report on how mayor’s across the country are starting to bolt from Mayor Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns amid feelings they have been misled, I was compelled to share my own story how Mayor Bloomberg and Mayors against Illegal Guns blatantly lied and withheld information to get me and several other of my fellow Mayors to join their organization.

I’m the mayor of Walden, NY, just starting my third term. In 2009, while attending a statewide mayoral conference, I was asked to sign a “petition” affirming my support for safer communities. I signed, because who would not be for safer communities? What I found out later is that my name was being used in anti-gun propaganda to further the personal agenda of Mayor Bloomberg.

The organization never asked for permission or asked for approval to use my name to promote their agenda. Never was any information disclosed to me about the organization being in favor of gun control or that they would use my position as Mayor to spend millions of dollars to try to take away the rights of legal gun owners. I, like several other Mayors around the country were defrauded by Bloomberg and MAIG.

Man who killed Ace hardware employee was on "mission from Allah," deputy DA says

 

A 34-year-old Sacramento man who went to an El Sobrante hardware store on a "mission from Allah to help people" before fatally stabbing an employee 17 times was arraigned on murder charges Tuesday, prosecutors say.

Daymond Agnew, charged with murder with use of a knife in Sunday's slaying of 49-year-old Daniel Joseph Stone, of Pinole, at Oliver's Ace Hardware, did not enter a plea and was ordered to return to the Richmond courthouse on Aug. 13 with a public defender.

Agnew has been held in County Jail on $1.3 million bail since prosecutors say that -- by sheer coincidence -- he was captured in the store owner's family home, located not far from the store at 4071 San Pablo Dam Road.

NC: ‘Really Spooky’ Poem Praising Common Core Allegedly Recited by Dozens of 5th Graders at School Ceremony

A substitute teacher in North Carolina recently sent Glenn Beck a copy of a poem that she claims roughly 80 fifth-grade students recited for their promotion ceremony (like graduation) at a school near Raleigh.

The poem does not, as some might expect, celebrate school being done for the year, friendship, memories, or anything of the like.  Instead, it praises the virtues of the controversial “Common Core” education initiative.

The poem is titled “We Learned More With Common Core,” and the phrase is repeated over and over.

It reads:

Text genre, features & theme to explore

We learned more with common core.

Fractions, decimals, journal prompts galore

We learned more with common core.

RUNNER & CUBES are strategies for

Learning more with common core.

Vocab words like (clouds, organs, force), & omnivore

We learned more with common core

Economy, government, Revolutionary war

We learned more with common core.

So many new concepts to explore

Couple Says Cops Climbed Through Window Without Warrant and Shot Their Dogs

A Florida couple is alleging that police climbed through a window into their home without a search warrant and shot their dogs.

The Pensacola News Journal reported the incident occurred Sunday around 10:30 p.m. when deputies entered the home of 22-year-old Travis Nicholas and 32-year-old Cristina Moses. Nicholas and Moses were awoken by the noise and handcuffed. During the incident, their two dogs were shot, with one officer claiming he had been bitten. One of the dogs was euthanized later as a result of the shooting.

Confederate diary of Alabama native Daniel Hundley describes mind of ripped off, shot and imprisoned soldier

Though Daniel Robinson Alexander Campbell Hundley opposed secession, the Madison County native carved venomous words against Abraham Lincoln and other Yankees throughout much of his Civil War diary.

Hard to blame him considering the pain Northerners inflicted upon him.

They declared him an outlaw and seized his property in Chicago, simply for being a Southerner. They also shot him in the hip at the battle of Port Gibson. And after capturing him at Big Shanty, Ga., in 1864, they let him rot in a prison camp where rats were a dinner delicacy.

The deep despondency Hundley felt from the toll the war had taken on him and his homeland was evident before he ever entered the Johnson Island Prison Camp on Lake Erie.

 “The old life is gone, its warm Southern heart had ceased to beat, and one beheld now only its galvanized corpse, making believe that it still breathed and moved and had a continued being, a ghastly spectacle ...” is how Hundley described Nashville as his prison trained passed through Tennessee.

Of goodie: U.S. Will Now Let in Thousands of Syrian Refugees

With conditions continuing to deteriorate in Syria, the Obama administration is making a major policy shift by agreeing for the first time to allow thousands of new Syrian refugees into the United States, The Cable has learned.

The numbers are relatively small: just 2,000 refugees, compared to an estimated two million people who have fled Syria during the civil war. But it's a significant increase from the 90 or so Syrian refugees who have been permanently admitted to the U.S. in the last two years. And it's not entirely uncontroversial. The refugees, mostly women and children, will be screened for terrorist ties -- a process that could take a year or more to complete.

Vietnam War victims found in jungle

 

AN 82-year-old man and his 41-year-old son have been found living in a forest in central Vietnam after they went missing during the country's war with the US, an official says. 
 
The older man could communicate a little in the Cor ethnic minority language, but his son only knew a few words, an official at Tay Tra commune in Quang Ngai province said on Thursday on condition of anonymity.

Ho Van Thanh was last seen running into the woods with his then-infant son Ho Van Lang after a bomb exploded in his home, killing his wife and two other children in 1973, newspaper Dan Tri reported.

They were discovered when two people from a nearby village ventured 40 kilometres into the forest looking for firewood and spotted the two men's tree house. The villagers reported the find to local authorities who recovered the pair on Wednesday.

The two men survived by cultivating forest vegetables and hunting animals. They had no contact with the outside world, the report said.

TSA pat-downs soon coming to your travel route

The Electronic Privacy Information Center doesn’t appear to be enthusiastic about the Transportation Security Administration’s expansion of it infamous airport pat-downs to highway checkpoints, bus stations, concerts, rodeos and other events.

The TSA said Thursday it has expanded its Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response  program “to perform warrantless searches at various locations.”

The Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC, which has fought the government on privacy grounds over the use of invasive body scanners and intimate physical pat-downs by federal agents, noted that it had prevailed in a lawsuit in 2012 that “revealed the agency’s plan to deploy body scanners outside of the airport at bus stations, train stations and elsewhere.”

Fox News reported there soon will be behavioral detection officers and search dogs deployed at transit stations and other locations to enhance security.

The report quoted EPIC expressing a concern that the problem with “searching people outside the airport is that there are no real legal standards or probable cause.

Are Police in America Now a Military, Occupying Force?

Despite the steady hue and cry by government agencies about the need for more police, more sophisticated weaponry, and the difficulties of preserving the peace and maintaining security in our modern age, the reality is far different. Indeed, violent crime in America has been on a steady decline, and if current trends continue, Americans will finish the year 2013 experiencing the lowest murder rate in over a century.

Despite this clear referendum on the fact that communities would be better served by smaller, demilitarized police forces, police agencies throughout the country are dramatically increasing in size and scope. Some of the nation’s larger cities boast police forces the size of small armies. (New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg actually likes to brag that the NYPD is his personal army.) For example, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has reached a total of 10,000 officers. It takes its place alongside other cities boasting increasingly large police forces, including New York (36,000 officers) and Chicago (13,400 officers). When considered in terms of cops per square mile, Los Angeles assigns a whopping 469 officers per square mile, followed by New York with 303 officers per square mile, and Chicago with 227 cops per square mile.

The e-mail service used by National Security Agency (NSA) leaker Edward Snowden is suspending operations. And they can’t tell us why — although this cryptic post heavily suggests it has something to do with a government request for information:

I have been forced to make a difficult decision: to become complicit in crimes against the American people or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit. After significant soul searching, I have decided to suspend operations. I wish that I could legally share with you the events that led to my decision. I cannot. I feel you deserve to know what’s going on — the first amendment is supposed to guarantee me the freedom to speak out in situations like this.

Unfortunately, Congress has passed laws that say otherwise. As things currently stand, I cannot share my experiences over the last six weeks, even though I have twice made the appropriate requests.

A small group of lawmakers in Maryland got an earful from their constituents during a town hall meeting that covered topics ranging from “Obamacare” to Benghazi to the NSA’s spying programs.

And we mean an earful. Voters vented some of the frustrations shared by Americans across the country — in a very vocal way.

“When is this government going to come clean with the American people and tell us what this secret law says, how it’s being secretly interpreted, how it’s being secretly implemented, and what it means to every person in this room!” an unidentified male said of NSA surveillance.

North Carolina's Republican tax experiment

Tax reform is still all talk, talk, talk in Washington. And many expect real action could take years.

But not in North Carolina. The state has taken a very big first step in overhauling its tax code -- enacting its first major reform in 80 years.

 he change, signed into law last month, creates a modified flat tax system, with a single income tax rate, an increased standard deduction and fewer tax breaks, as well as the elimination of the personal exemption and a $50,000 deduction for small business owners. It also repeals the state's estate tax.

"It's fairly radical in relation to other states," said Kathleen Thies, senior state tax analyst for the tax publisher CCH.

The overhaul has been lauded by Republicans, who dominate the state's legislature. They see the changes as a way to attract more business to North Carolina and create jobs.

The big hope: The new economic activity will compensate for the estimated $2.4 billion revenue loss over the next five years as a result of the reforms.
