GOP Bill Slashes Tax Break for NFL & With Tax Breaks on the Line, Roger Goodell Re-Discovers His Patriotism
The GOP tax plan unveiled Thursday by Republican members of the House reportedly contains a provision that would prevent professional sports teams, including the NFL, from taking advantage of tax-exempt municipal bonds, a government service usually reserved for local communities.
“Generally used for roads, hospitals and the like, a number of communities have extended them to help out sports teams, usually as a way of enticing a team to stay in a community,” The Washington Times reported. “Axing the break would save $200 million over the next decade, according to early estimates.”
As reported by Reuters, “(o)f the 16 NFL stadiums built or renovated from 2000 through 2014, 13 were financed in part by tax-exempt bonds with an average financing worth $360.2 million.” The total costs of these bonds was an estimated $3.7 billion.

Citizen Lee
At the time of his death, was Robert E. Lee a man without a country?
No, the Gray Fox of the Confederacy was not like the naval officer in Edward Everett Hale’s novel who cursed his country.
Lee’s country, before and after the War Between the States, was the United States of America, a republic he served with valor and distinction. During the War, Lee served a new nation as the general-in-chief of that nation’s armies, but after Joe Johnston’s surrender to Sherman, the Confederate republic ceased to exist for all practical purposes.
Indeed, it was the official policy of the administration of Union President Andrew Johnson that there had been, in fact, no such entity as “the Confederate States of America.” And the several states that had made up that republic were, in Johnson’s view, simply states “lately in rebellion.”
But because General Lee had served as the ranking military officer of the so-called “rebel” army, he and others who held high position in the late Confederacy were denied their civil rights and indicted for treason. Later, that indictment was dismissed and no one who had served the Confederacy in its high command was actually brought to trial.

This Man Could Have Kept Vietnam From Communists, But The Kennedy Administration Okayed His Assassination
Via John
On 2 November, groups of Vietnamese men, women, and children will gather for memorial services across the world to honor the death of a man largely forgotten in American historical memory. Once this man was a household name, frequently featured on the front pages of our nation’s newspapers and spoken from the mouths of reporters on the nightly news.
That man is Ngo Dinh Diem, president of the Republic of Vietnam (better known as South Vietnam) from 1955 to 1963, his rule and life cruelly ended in a military coup tacitly supported by the U.S. government. A recent book on Diem’s life, “The Lost Mandate of Heaven: The American Betrayal of Ngo Dinh Diem, President of Vietnam,” by military historian Geoffrey Shaw clarifies why Americans would do well to mourn the tragic loss of a man many deemed to be Vietnam’s best chance of defeating communism.

Trump: NY City Terror Suspect ‘Point of Contact’ for 23 Additional Immigrants & The Grave Danger of Chain Migration and Amnesties
President Donald Trump warned that “chain migration” continued to be a problem, pointing out that the suspected New York City terrorist was the “primary point of contact” for 23 additional people trying to enter the United States.
“That’s not acceptable,” Trump said.A source speaking to ABC News confirmed Trump’s citation but said it was unclear if those people were immediate family members, distant family members, or friends.
The suspected terrorist, Sayfullo Saipov, came to the United States in 2010 via the Diversity Visa Program and lived in Paterson, New Jersey, with his wife and three children.
He is originally from Uzbekistan and was reportedly radicalized online while living in the United States.
Trump vowed to respond to the attack with toughness, urging law enforcement officials to continue fighting terrorism.
“Terrorists are constantly seeking to strike our nation, and it will require the unflinching devotion to our law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence professionals to keep America safe,” he said.

The Grave Danger of Chain Migration and Amnesties
Immigration is changing the demographics of the
U.S. population dramatically. Politically, it is moving the electorate
to a strong Democrat Party and left-liberal advantage. As Rep. Steve
King (R, IA) pointed out in 2013, the 1986 Reagan Amnesty resulted in an
additional 15 million votes for Barack Obama in 2008. Ironically, Obama
could not have won without the 1986 Reagan Amnesty.
Reagan was not
comfortable with amnesty, but he was told it would only be about
800,000, about the size of the proposed DACA Amnesty. Because of
widespread application fraud and loose Federal processing in 1986, it
turned out to be 2.75 million amnesties. Congress then gave six
supplemental amnesties, bringing the total to 6.0 million. Then the
powerful chain migration multiplier for legal immigration and the
inevitable increase in illegal immigration encouraged by amnesties
kicked in.
According to his former Attorney General, Ed Meese, Reagan
considered the 1986 amnesty the biggest mistake of his eight years in
office.

November Fourth: A Starter Pistol?
Eighteen billion dollars has been transferred from George Soros' normal operations to his subversive operations just ahead of the November 4th Antifa declaration of war. There are guys like Jeb Bush who have remarked that Trump would not be in office after December. The removal of Trump through impeachment, or a revolution would be welcomed by those determined to globalize labor and that is what it all comes down to. The American worker expects to earn too much money and it costs a lot to send the resources of the United States to other nations where labor is cheaper.
These globalist forces have teamed up with Antifa, Islamic Jihadists, BLM and any other destabilizing organizations they can find. They have bought off people like McCain, Lindsey Graham and Paul Ryan to push their cheap labor dreams through immigration. There has been no need to corrupt the Democratic Party, it has been sold out to the globalist vision from the beginning. It is probably no coincidence that the Mandalay Bay shootings were supposed to help push a disarmament movement ahead of November 4th among even conservatives and it worked to some degree when the NRA signed onto a bumpstock ban, before reversing course.

Rep. DeSantis: ‘We Know Now Without a Shadow of a Doubt’ Hillary and Democrats Colluded with Russia
Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Thursday regarding a proposed Mueller amendment to limit the special counsel investigation to between March 2015 and the present, and also tax reform in the House.
“We know now without a shadow of a doubt that the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, paid Fusion GPS and Steele to acquire this dossier, which required colluding with Russian operatives and Russian nationals. So, they produced this dossier and I believe, yesterday I called for the FBI, the Justice Department to declassify all the FISA applications involving Trump associates because what I think happened is, I think they used the information from this dossier to be able to get surveillance on Trump and his associates.”“And then the fruits of that,” he continued, “formed the basis of what had been leaked to the press over the first three or four months of Trump’s White House.”
DeSantis also discussed the Uranium One scandal and the pending tax reform bill in detail. The full audio is available below.

Manafort attacks special counsel’s case as ‘embellished’
Via Billy
Accused of multiple financial crimes, President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman on Thursday attacked the strength of the evidence against him, saying the case brought by special counsel Robert Mueller is “embellished.”
In a court filing Thursday, attorneys for Paul Manafort defended him as a “successful, international political consultant” who, by nature of his work on behalf of foreign political parties, was necessarily involved in international financial transactions. They say Manafort, who led Trump’s campaign for several months last year, has done nothing wrong and doesn’t pose a risk of fleeing the country.
The filing was the first volley from Manafort’s defense team, which seeks to undermine a 12-count indictment against him and longtime business associate Rick Gates. Mueller announced the indictment Monday, charging the men with money laundering and other financial crimes related to their political consulting work for Ukraine’s former ruling party.

Apology Not Accepted: Vern Buchanan Calls For Prosecution Of Lois Lerner
Last week, the Department of Justice finally admitted that the IRS unfairly targeted Tea Party groups under Barack Obama. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the IRS had agreed to a settlement with the groups that were improperly targeted.
This admission of guilt was certainly a long time coming. However, Republican lawmakers want more than just a halfhearted apology. On Monday, Rep. Vern Buchanan, chairman of the oversight subcommittee responsible for the IRS, called for the DOJ to revisit prosecuting IRS official Lois Lerner, who in 2013 was the head of the division responsible for handling applications for nonprofit status.
“Lerner betrayed the nation’s trust yet managed to avoid prosecution,” Buchanan said. “Heads should roll and people should be held accountable for this gross abuse of power.”
“An apology five years after the fact is not good enough,” he added.

Democrats are lying about Republican tax plan, says Washington Post fact-checker
Via Billy
The Washington Post's fact-checker said Thursday that Democrats aren't telling the truth when they say the Republican tax plan would raise taxes on most middle-class families.
In an early Thursday morning story, fact-checker Glenn Kessler gave Democrats four Pinocchios for making that claim. According to the Post, four Pinocchios are reserved for claims that are "whoppers."
"In their haste to condemn the GOP tax plan, Democrats have spread far and wide the false claim that families making less than $86,100 on average will face a hefty tax hike," he wrote. "Actually, it’s the opposite."
Dorkhead.
Kessler noted that the data Democrats used to make their argument actually showed that taxpayers in each of the five income bands used in the analysis would see a tax cut, not a hike, and that the average cut would be $450 for 80 percent of families.

Millennials: Communism sounds pretty chill

‘This report clearly reveals a need for educating our youth on the dangerous implications of socialist ideals’
In a Halloween tweet that’s since gone viral, Donald Trump Jr. jokingly (although who really knows these days?) took the opportunity to impart an important political lesson to his cute little daughter.
Perhaps he should share his wisdom with millennials. "I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some
kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism."
According to the latest survey from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a D.C.-based nonprofit, one in two U.S. millennials say they would rather live in a socialist or communist country than a capitalist democracy.
What’s more, 22% of them have a favorable view of Karl Marx and a surprising number see Joseph Stalin and Kim Jong Un as “heroes.”

Historic Christ Church Falls To Political Correctness
One doesn’t quite know what to make of history being erased like this. Washington and Lee (and there is a university of that name) are probably the two most decent and honorable people the United States has ever produced. But their association with an ancient, by US standards, church, which Washington helped to found, is to be erased.
Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia, was constructed during the years 1765 and 1773. It was designed by James Wren, a relative of Sir Christopher Wren, the most famous English architect. The colonial era, pre-Revolutionary War church, is a national historic landmark.
It was my church when I lived in Old Town Alexandria, a colonial settlement along the Potomac River. It was also the church of my neighbor, Henry “Joe” Fowler, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for President John F. Kennedy and Secretary of the Treasury for President Johnson. Another neighbor was US Air Force General Benton Partin, whose study proved conclusively that the Murrah Federal Office building in Oklahoma City blew up from the inside out and not from the outside in from McVeigh’s truck bomb.
Joe Fowler and I used to talk about how facts were no longer part of any aspect of Washington’s policy or media reporting. And this was long ago in the 80s and 90s. Imagine today when it is the obligation of the US media to lie for the CIA and the DNC.
Christ Church was the church for George Washington and for Robert E. Lee and for other notables of our early history. Robert E. Lee was married to George Washington’s great-granddaughter.

Delingpole: Trump Vindicated; Now Even the UN Confirms That the Paris Climate Accord Was a Complete Waste of Space
The United Nations has officially confirmed what many of us, including President Trump, knew already: the Paris climate accord was a complete waste of space.
As UN Environment admits in its latest Emissions Shortfall report, even when you add up all the CO2 reduction pledges made by all the signatory nations at Paris, it still comes to only a third of what is supposedly necessary to stop the world warming by more than 2 degrees C by the end of this century.According to UN Environment’s head Eric Solheim, the world is heading for disaster:
“One year after the Paris Agreement entered into force, we still find ourselves in a situation where we are not doing nearly enough to save hundreds of millions of people from a miserable future. Governments, the private sector and civil society must bridge this catastrophic climate gap.”Another way of looking at it, though, is that President Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris accord is now fully vindicated. Had the Agreement been ratified, the U.S. would have handed countries like China and India a huge competitive advantage over the American economy. But – as even the UN now admits – it would have made no discernible difference to the alleged problem of “global warming.” So what, exactly would have been the point?

Should Gone with the Wind Go Away?

In the wake of increased PC attacks on Margaret Mitchell’s 1937 novel Gone With the Wind, I decided to undertake an ornery, contrarian, and politically incorrect action and plow through the novel’s 1,036 pages just for the heck of it, reacquainting myself with an acknowledged classic (which earned a Pulitzer Prize for the author) and hence be able to reflect on a cultural phenomenon with my own refreshed insights.
It is impossible to reflect on the novel without making some comparisons with its 1939 film adaptation. The film, of necessity, tightens the storyline and deletes certain characters (most notably Scarlett’s multiple children). The movie Mammy is a more dominating presence than in the novel but a similar towering moral force. Also missing from the film is the overt presence of the Ku Klux Klan in the Reconstruction period and the participation of Ashley Wilkes and Scarlett’s second husband, Frank Kennedy, in some of its activities. As far as the movie version is concerned, it defies any attempts that might be made to remake it, however uncomfortable some scenes might strike us today (Could anyone play Rhett Butler after Clark Gable? It’s difficult to imagine).
