Best 7.62×39 AK-47 Ammo: Steel VS Brass

In terms of shear mass, in straight numbers, the 7.62x39mm is far and away the preeminent battle rifle caliber in the world. With over 100 million AK-47 and its clones having been produced it’s not hard to see why. That’s not a misprint, and it does not include the VZ-58, SKS, or the slew of Eastern European and North American rifles, and the light machine gun RPK which uses the caliber. There is nothing more common than this guy. And why shouldn’t it be? Compact, hard-hitting at typical combat ranges, and all of the weapons which use it have proven to be supremely durable and reliable.

Death of Fire Captain’s Son Brings Illegal Immigration Debate Home

 Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo mugshot

The death of a Knoxville, Tennessee, fire captain’s son brought the debate over illegal immigration to a very local level. Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo is now in the custody of immigration officials after allegedly killing the young man in a multi-vehicle crash.

Knoxville police arrested Francisco-Eduardo on charges of criminally negligent homicide, driving without a license, and driving without proof of insurance after a multi-vehicle crash. The illegal immigrant allegedly swerved his Chevrolet pickup truck into oncoming traffic on December 29 — striking a Honda Civic being driven by 22-year-old Pierce Kennedy Corcoran, according to Knoxville News. Corcoran sustained serious injuries in the crash and died after being transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Doctors pronounced the young man dead on arrival at the hospital.

Trump Tax Returns: You Show Me Yours

Most of what has been written about what can be learned from the Trump tax returns has no basis in reality. While the President’s tax returns may be voluminous, his tax returns will yield far more questions than the occasional answer. For example, no tax return identifies lenders or whether the borrower has personal liability; tax returns only identify how much interest is paid. So, if President Trump borrowed funds from Russia or Bank of America, his tax returns would not disclose the lender. The tax returns will also not include the identity of the purchasers of his properties.

Bolton’s Syria Conditions Are Designed to Prevent U.S. Withdrawal

Via Ryan

Bolton continued his efforts to drag out withdrawal from Syria for as long as possible:
President Trump’s national security adviser, John R. Bolton, rolled back on Sunday Mr. Trump’s decision to rapidly withdraw from Syria, laying out conditions for a pullout that could leave American forces there for months or even years.
One of the reasons that I didn’t believe that U.S. withdrawal from Syria would really happen was the presence of Bolton and Pompeo on Trump’s national security team. As committed Iran hawks, they have strong incentives to delay and undermine any withdrawal plan, and Bolton is already doing that with his current trip abroad to “reassure” regional clients. It seems that they will pay lip service to the long-term goal of withdrawal, play along.
