15 More Benghazi-Related Victims Murdered: Does it Matter Now Hillary?
Wednesday the Senate finally made a statement about Benghazi. A bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee has found that the State Department could have likely prevented the death of four Americans in Benghazi if they would not have ignored the intelligence reports and pleas for assistance from our diplomatic mission. The findings are that increased security was needed. USA Today reports:
Congressional Democrats for the first time joined the GOP to condemn the State Department for refusing security measures they say could have prevented the deaths of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi.
The report, worked on for months and released Wednesday by a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee, also says 15 people in Libya who have tried to help the FBI investigate the murders have been killed.
15 persons in Libya who were attempting to cooperate with the FBI investigation are now dead. Isn’t that convenient?
Does it matter now Mrs. Clinton?

This inspirational, disabled family lost its health coverage, and it’s Obamacare’s fault
Via Cousin John
The Daverts are just one of the thousands of American families who lost healthcare coverage after Obamacare forced their insurance company to cancel their plan.
But the Daverts aren’t like any other American family. Twin children Austin and Michaela have brittle bone disease, as does their mother, Melissa. Their father, Ken, has cerebral palsy. Though their handicaps–and medical expenses–are significant, life together is not just manageable, but happy, in their Bay City, Michigan home.
Things have become much more difficult, however, since recently implemented provisions of the Affordable Care Act cause their insurer to drop the children from their health plan. And even after spending hours and hours navigating the labrynthine HealthCare.gov and demanding answers from confused call center bureaucrats, Melissa Davert’s children remain uninsured, despite their constant medical needs.
And she knows exactly who is to blame.
“We did not put ourselves in this situation,” she told The Daily Caller. “The government put us in this situation.”

“Educational” Sex-Ed Poster Lists Sex Acts for Middle Schoolers
A hopelessly naïve Kansas father is outraged over an “educational” sex-ed poster that his middle-school daughter was exposed to at her local public school. The father first believed that the poster was a prank perpetrated by students, so he called the school to complain.
The school explained that the poster was actually not a prank. It was part of their middle school sex-ed “abstinence-based” curriculum. And it met federal standards. The father was outraged. Apparently, this man has been hiding under a rock for the last twenty years. The poster was titled, “How Do People Express Their Sexual Feelings?” Included in the list was oral sex, anal sex, cuddling on the couch, and saying “I like you.” Because these things clearly belong on the same list directed to pre-teens.

Resident shoots and kills masked intruder who burst into Dorchester home; second suspect is captured
Yeah, that's so important.
The resident at 85 Esmond St. is also in custody, but has not yet been charged with any crime because police are trying to determine if he was licensed to possess a firearm, according to Evans and Gross.
****************************
Two masked men who forced their way into a Dorchester apartment this morning were met by an armed resident who opened fire, killing one and chasing the other out of the building, where police arrested him, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said today.
“The suspects came into the apartment
masked,’’ Evans told reporters at the scene. “The homeowner also had a
firearm and shot one of the suspects dead.”

Ed Gillespie Announces US Senate Run in Virginia
Former Virginia Governor and current US Senator Mark Warner consistently pulls in strong approval ratings and has been broadly viewed as a safe incumbent heading into the 2014 cycle. Is his job security status about to shift? Prominent Republican Ed Gillespie has just announced his decision to take the plunge and challenge Warner -- a move that could shake up the race:
Washington Post columnist and fellow Bush administration alumnus Marc Thiessen penned a piece earlier in the week about why Democrats should be nervous over a Gillespie candidacy:
Mark Warner (D-Va.) is in a lot more trouble than it seems. Despite his ample war chest and approval ratings, only 50 percent of Virginians say Warner should get a second term. And independents, by a margin of 49 to 43 percent, say they would rather have someone new in Virginia’s Senate seat. Moreover, Warner will have to defend his deciding vote for Obamacare during a midterm election that will likely be driven by voter anger over Obamacare.

WH: Just Kidding, Our Goal for Young Obamacare Enrollees Is Actually A Lot Lower!
We've written a fair amount about how Obamacare's financial model is only sustainable if a critical mass of young and healthy Americans sign up for overpriced coverage, the purpose of which would be to offset costs associated with insuring millions of older, sicker Americans. For months, the White House declined to reveal how many young consumers had taken the plunge. That opacity finally (partially) ended this week, when an administration report finally unveiled the percentage of 'young invincibles' in the overall risk pool: Twenty-four percent -- well short of Team Obama's projected goal of nearly 40 percent, and even shy of the Kaiser Foundation's "worst-case scenario."
What portion of that 24 percent is actually paid up and fully enrolled? We still don't know. Young people's paltry participation rates to date have fueled fears of an industry death spiral, expensive taxpayer bailouts, and hiked 2015 premiums. With more consternation on the horizon, the administration has decided to change its own metric for success. Again. Consider the goalposts officially shifted, America:

Why Some Dallas Cops Say They Are Afraid to Use Deadly Force
Via avordvet
Since the release of a dashcam video
showing a Dallas police officer shooting an unarmed teenage carjacking
suspect — for which the officer was fired and has been sued by the
shooting victim — other officers on the force are scared they could be
next.
Ron Pinkston, Dallas Police Association president, gave city leaders hundreds of letters penned by officers Tuesday, reported KXAS-TV in Dallas, adding that many indicate cops are worried about losing their jobs if they’re put in a similar position.

Sherman Would Spare Nothing
Though
fighting against his countrymen who only sought a more perfect
political union, and with the blessing of Lincoln and Grant, Sherman’s
devastation would literally spare nothing. Of note regarding his march
through Georgia and the Carolina’s was a young Spanish military
observer, Valeriano Weyler, who would later become known as “the
Butcher” by Cuban’s fighting for independence. Weyler herded women and
children into concentration camps while devastating the countryside,
having learned much from his master.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"Unsurpassed Valor, Courage and Devotion to Liberty"
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"
Sherman Would Spare Nothing
“Fort
Sumter was fired upon, and now the sulking Achilles came out to fight;
and with him blood and iron would play a part from the very beginning.
In May [1861] he declared: “the greatest difficulty in the problem now
before the country is not to conquer, but so conquer to impress upon the
real men of the South a respect for their conquerors.” As the war got
under way Sherman became hypnotized by it . . . and refused to be
diverted by those who would minimize the task or mollify it by soft
considerations of the claims of humanity or too close adherence to the
rule book.
As
condemnation of his prodigality in the use of men began to come in, he
replied that the war could not be fought with breath, but that hundreds
of thousands of lives must perish, and he added, “Indeed do I wish I had
been killed long since.” [He] began “to regard the death and mangling
of a couple thousand men as a small affair, a kind of morning dash –
and it may be well that we become so hardened.”
[In
1862 he wrote] the Secretary of the Treasury, “The Government of the
United States may now safely proceed on the proper rule that all the
South are enemies of all in the North.”
As
to the large number of people who were being arrested [for disloyalty]
in Kentucky, he would send them “to the Dry Tortugas, or Brazil, every
one of those men, women and children, and encourage a new breed.”
“To
secure the navigation of the Mississippi River [to Northern shipping] I
would slay millions. On that point I am not only insane, but mad.”
For every shot fired at a [Northern] river steamer he would return “a
thousand 30-pound Parrotts into every helpless town on Red, Ouchita,
Yazoo, or wherever a boat can float or a soldier march.”
But
for no reason beyond the fact that the South was opposing the North, he
would set stark starvation loose upon the land. Before beginning his
Meridian campaign early in 1864, he wrote his wife, “We will take all
provisions, and God help the starving families.”
[In
1863 he insisted] on war, pure and simple, with no admixture of civil
compromises . . . [and] considered it unwise at that time “or for years
to come” to give the southern people “any civil government in which the
local people have much to say . . . All the Southern States will need a
pure military Government for years after resistance has ceased.”
By
the summer of 1864 . . . [Sherman] offered this advice to General
Sheridan, who might find it useful in the Shenandoah Valley: “I am
satisfied, and have been all the time, that the problem of this war
consists in the awful fact that the present class of men who rule the
South must be killed outright rather than in the conquest of territory .
. . Therefore I shall expect you on any and all occasions to make
bloody results.”
He
wrote Grant his well-known article of faith, “Unless we can repopulate
Georgia it is useless to occupy it; but the utter destruction of roads,
houses and people will cripple their military resources . . . After he
had reached Savannah he wrote to Halleck, “ We are not only fighting
hostile armies, but a hostile people, and we must make old and young,
rich and poor, feel the hard hand of war, as well as their organized
armies.”
When
he found himself on one of Howell Cobb’s plantations in Georgia, he
instructed his army “to spare nothing,” and on the march through South
Carolina, one chilly night he consumed in the blazing fireplace the
furniture of “one of those splendid South Carolina estates where the
proprietors had formerly dispensed hospitality that distinguished the
regime of that proud State.”
His
first disagreement with the Radical reconstructionists grew out of his
long-standing attitude toward the Negro. He had spurned abolitionism in
1861, and during the war he had shown his contempt for Negro soldiers.
He wrote in May, 1865, “. . . I do not favor the scheme of declaring the
Negroes of the South, now free, to be loyal voters, whereby politicians
may manufacture just so much more pliable electioneering material . . .
they are no friends of the Negro who seek to complicate him with new
prejudices.”

and the South, E. Merton Coulter, North Carolina Historical Review,
Volume VIII, Number 1, January 1931, excerpts, pp. 46-53)
Desert Tech’s bullpup, the Micro Dynamic Rifle
Desert Tech is known for extremely accurate long-range bullpup sniper rifles… and turning down a lucrative foreign contract to make sure our troops stay safe.
They came to play at SHOT Show this year with a new rifle, the multi-caliber Micro Dynamic Rifle, or MDR. The pre-show hype on these rifles is great, but they aren’t production ready just yet, and won’t be until next year.

GOA Alert
“The real agenda of the gun-hating
Obama administration is to strip gun rights from law-abiding Americans
....” -- GOA’s Legislative Counsel Michael Hammond, The Washington Times
(1/7/14)
We are putting out this emergency alert to keep you apprised of the fast-moving legislative landscape.
HHS REGULATIONS: See a Shrink, Lose your Guns
GOA's campaign against Obama's war on individual privacy is beginning to really catch fire. Our article in The Washington Times is being widely circulated by other pro-gun groups and can be read here.
And, although we will probably not have a vehicle for defunding this Executive Action -- until the individual appropriations bills begin to move in May -- we are optimistic that a majority of senators and House members will oppose this effort to partially repeal federal privacy laws, called HIPAA.
As you probably know, the proposed regulations would repeal HIPAA insofar as necessary to allow psychiatrists to turn their patients into the FBI's NICS list -- all as a result of personal information, communicated in private.
This would massively expand the ability of the federal government to impose federal gun bans on otherwise law-abiding Americans.
Or as we at GOA have said: These regulations would result in a situation where if you “see a shrink, you lose your guns." But now a wide variety of others are beginning to take notice.
Go here to read the comments that GOA submitted to HHS in opposition to their recent, anti-gun regulations.
And go here to submit your own comments on or before March 10, 2014.
THE UN ARMS TRADE TREATY
For a year now, we have told you that we easily have the 34 votes necessary to defeat ratification of the UN Arms Trade Treaty. That treaty would set the stage for far-ranging gun and magazine bans, gun registration, and gun microstamping requirements.
We have told you that the next task would be to pass an appropriations bill amendment which would defund any Obama effort to implement the ATT by executive fiat. And we have drafted such an amendment and made it available to Congress.
That amendment to defund the UN ATT is about to happen.
Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) has announced that he has amended the must-pass omnibus appropriations bill to ban funding for the implementation of the ATT.
That big appropriations bill has pluses and minuses, and it probably is not the bill we would have drafted. But the win on the Arms Trade Treaty is huge.
ANTI-GUN JUDGES
We have told you that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's corrupt and fraudulent invocation of the "nuclear option" had the potential for packing the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, with anti-gun judges.
On Monday, Senator Reid used this corrupt procedure to force the confirmation of Robert Wilkins to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. You can see how your Senators voted here. (The NAY vote is the pro-gun vote.)
As a district court judge, Wilkins has held that an American living in Canada could constitutionally be stripped by the 1968 Gun Control Act of the right to purchase any firearm in the United States. In other words, according to Wilkins, the Second Amendment does not guarantee Americans the right to purchase or acquire a firearm.
ANTI-GUN OBAMACARE MANDATE
Senate Republicans have thus far followed a strategy which GOA has publicly pushed -- which would insist on votes to defund ObamaCare as a condition of moving Democratic priorities such as the unemployment bill.
Thus far, the strategy has worked pretty well.
The Senate has been tied in knots for the past week, unable to move Barack Obama's liberal legislative agenda. This, despite the fact that Harry Reid could remove the roadblock at any time by simply allowing the Senate to vote on ObamaCare. We've been particularly eager to get votes on two amendments: (1) whether to delay the unpopular anti-gun ObamaCare mandate; and (2) whether to defund a bailout of insurance companies totaling tens of billions of dollars. Either of these amendments, if adopted, would effectively bring an end to the anti-gun ObamaCare mandate.
As you know, the ObamaCare program sets the stage for compiling a national health database which could be trolled by the FBI and could strip tens of millions of Americans of their Second Amendment rights.
ACTION: Click here to contact your Senators. Ask them to continue objecting to any Unanimous Consent request which would allow Obama's unemployment bill (S. 1845) to be passed, unless Senators are granted the right to vote on the anti-gun ObamaCare mandate.
With Terry McAuliffe in Office, VA Lawmakers Announce Push for Gun Control
Dorkhead
Just days after Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) was sworn into office, Virginia Democratic lawmakers announced their plans to push more gun control in 2014.
The Associated Press reports the proposals include the expanded background checks which McAuliffe supported during his gubernatorial campaign. They want the checks to cover "all commercial purchases" and include a "ban [on] gun ownership for five years for individuals convicted of stalking or sexual battery, and [limits on] gun access for individuals who have been involuntarily treated for mental health issues."

Ted Cruz slams Obamacare in ad planned for Super Bowl
A grassroots political action group is raising funds to air ads in key swing markets immediately before and after the Super Bowl featuring Sen. Ted Cruz’s fierce battle against President Obama’s health care law.
The “Thank You Ted Cruz” ads are produced and sponsored by the Conservative Campaign Committee, which says its aim is to “hold Barack Obama and the liberals in Washington accountable and support important campaigns and outstanding conservative candidates for federal office.”
The ads, featuring Cruz’s controversial 21-hour quasi-filibuster against Obamacare in September, first aired across Texas during the Thanksgiving NFL games and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“With the 2014 midterm elections upon us, it’s incumbent that we keep the heat on Barack Obama and remind the American people that Senator Ted Cruz and the Republicans were right about Obamacare, and Barack Obama was wrong,” the group said in a fundraising email.

Traveling west out of Asheville, North Carolina and crossing the border into Jackson County, one can trace the Caney Fork River along toward the little Tuckasegee community, following NC Highway 107 heading out of the nearby campus town of Cullowhee. There, off a gravel road running between two pastures, is one of the most underrated–and often overlooked–wonders anywhere in the Eastern United States.
Known today as “Judaculla Rock”, the strange stone mound protrudes from the earth just as it did centuries ago, much earlier even than the Cherokee Indians had begun to inhabit the region. According to most estimates by geologists, the stone’s markings date back as much as 3000 years, though on Raliegh-based group a number of years ago supposed that some of the petroglyphs covering the boulder could be twice as old as previous estimates, if not more.

Budget Deal Gives New Lease on Life to Incandescent Bulbs
The federal government is backing off pressure on consumers to dump their incandescent light bulbs and replace them with more energy efficient bulbs.
The massive new $1.1 trillion budget deal, expected to pass both chambers this week, prevents the Department of Energy from spending any money to enforce the new tougher efficiency standards for light bulbs, which went into effect on January 1.

Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
The shock jock asked whether the film was going to be a documentary. Mr. Weinstein said no, that it would be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’”
