Covid Deaths Remain Low in NC
Despite the large increase in cases and even hospitalizations. Deaths have lagged hospitalizations in the past, so it's too soon to say the virus has weakened and deaths will remain low. Will keep you up to date. Above is how it looks as of today....

Historical Context Explains Secession
That Southern secession was ultimately about independence with or without slavery is easily determined by primary sources. Often I hear that the primary sources I quote in defense of Southern secession are “cherry picked” or “out of context.” Those making these charges will then point to the four Declarations of Causes or The Cornerstone Speech as proof of my lack of context. Let’s take a look at the “context.”
The pre-secession context of all these documents was the irresponsible demands of Northern abolitionists for immediate, uncompensated emancipation, backed by terrorist activity. The terrorist threats alone were reasons for the South to close ranks and secede. The defense of slavery against demands for “immediate emancipation,” which would have surely led to an economic and social disaster, not to mention a humanitarian crises for the freed slaves, should not be confused with a desire to preserve slavery! Slavery was an institution long prior forced upon the South, and in 1861 it was an inherited institution for which Lincoln himself admitted the South did not desire, and that even he had no idea how to end:
“I have no prejudice against the Southern people. They are just what we would be in their situation. If slavery did not now exist among them, they would not introduce it… When it is said the institution exists, and it is very difficult to get rid of it in any satisfactory way, I can understand and appreciate the saying. I surely will not blame them for not doing what I should not know how to do myself.

Our Confederate Ancestors: Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest and His Men in Action
Laying down the body, Forrest spread his handkerchief over his dead brother's face and, calling on a member of his escort to remain with the corpse, he mounted his horse and said to those who were present: "Follow me." Then turning to his bugler he said, "Garis, sound the charge," and away he dashed, followed by those present, with the fury of a hurricane. They galloped into the enemy as some of them were mounting to retreat, and the spirit and animation of the spectacle so enthused the other Confederates that they rushed forward like a mighty storm and trampled down everything in their front, driving the enemy in the wildest confusion and capturing all his artillery, wagons, and a thousand prisoners besides a great quantity of supplies and several hundred negroes who were running away with the Yankees. The pursuit was kept up until night. . . .

China’s Obstruction of Virus Origin Investigation Gets Official American Support
China has rejected a World Health Organization plan that would further probe the origin of the virus that causes COVID-19, including the possibility that it escaped from a Chinese laboratory. American officials are taking a similar obstructionist stance, but evidence for the laboratory origin has been mounting since early 2020.
As Israeli microbiologist and biological warfare expert Dr. Dany Shoham noted in “China and Viruses: The Case of Dr. Xiangguo Qiu,” the Chinese scientist transferred a load of deadly pathogens from Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). The viruses included Machupo, Junin, Rift Valley Fever, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, and Hendra, but this was not the full extent of Dr. Qiu’s collaboration with the WIV.

Poll: Majority of Americans Think Infrastructure Bill Is a Socialist Hoax
More than half of Americans agree with Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), who likened the $1.2 trillion hoax infrastructure bill to “welfare” and the “Green New Deal.”
Rasmussen Reports polled likely U.S. voters by asking if they agree with Kennedy’s statement:
They told us it was a real infrastructure bill. It’s not. Only 23 percent of the bill is real infrastructure. The rest is Green New Deal and welfare. They told us the bill was paid for. It isn’t. We’re going to have to borrow maybe up to $400 billion to pay for it.

Teacher tearfully flees worker's paradise of Loudoun County
A now-departed middle school teacher in equity-crazed, Marxism-embracing Loudon County, Virginia is making headlines for tearfully quitting on the spot and urging parents to send their vulnerable children elsewhere.
“School board, I quit,” fifth-grade teacher Laura Morris announced Tuesday. “I quit your policies. I quit your trainings. And I quit being a cog in a machine that tells me to push highly-politicized agendas on our most vulnerable constituents ---the children.”
Before she broke down in tears, Morris blasted the school district’s superintendent for warning teachers and staff in a letter that criticizing the school district’s far-left policies, even in private, is not allowed. The tearful but defiant teacher also reminded everyone listening that the school district provides an anonymous form for teachers to turn in colleagues if they are overheard veering from the approved views.

On Nov 26, 1970, Sgt. Edward Ziobron and his recon team from MAC V SOG,
where tasked with conducting a clandestine operation deep into Laos.
Upon
insertion, the team came under intense fire from an overwhelming enemy
force. Although wounded in the face, left arm and leg by a B40 Rocket,
Ziobron led an uphill charge against the entrenched enemy, killing 10
communists with rifle fire and hand grenades. Upon reaching the top of
the ridge, he took an M60 and continued his assault under murderous
fire, killing 6 more in the process.
The next day, the team
decided to call in an extract to get the wounded out. On the way, the
team came under fire from two AA guns. Ziobron took out them out with a
LAW rocket launcher like it was no big deal.
The enemy then
launched an attack with the intention of annihilating the team. Through
the chaos, Ziobron stood his ground, although wounded again by another
rocket. At the same time, 2 NVA soldiers attacked him and hand to hand
fighting ensued.
Ziobron killed one with his .45 pistol and the
other, he beat to death with his own SKS. With the battle raging, he was
shot in the right leg and his Achilles tendon severed. Using his CAR 15
as a crutch, he began calling danger close air strikes, took out about
20 NVA with claymores and rescued one of his mates under fire.
With
the enemy closed in to a few meters, he killed 2 more with his pistol
and one with an M79 round. His actions inflicted such heavy casualties,
which broke the attack.
Despite his wounds, he led his team to
the LZ and were extracted the following morning. When he boarded the

For his actions, Ziobron was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
