NYPD to Permanently Patrol Protests with Machine Guns

Via III Percent Patriots

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton announced Thursday that 350 heavily armed NYPD officers, called the “Strategic Response Group,” will soon be patrolling protests and the city at large.
He said the new strain of hyper-armed police will be
“…equipped and trained in ways that our normal patrol officers are not. They’ll be equipped with all the extra heavy protective gear, with the long rifles and machine guns — unfortunately sometimes necessary in these instances.”
Bratton announced  their purpose is specifically
“…designed for dealing with events like our recent protests, or incidents like Mumbai or what just happened in Paris.”

Obama's America: Red States Bore The Brunt Of Federal Grant Cuts

You probably know this line by heart by now; Obama saying we're not a collection of red states or blue states, we’re the United States (I’m paraphrasing). Yet, we all know that’s bologna. Red states and blue states have different values, different views on government, and different attitudes towards America’s role in the world. To put it in another way, it’s the urban-based elite vs. the rural American.

No other president has accentuated such divisions as Barack Obama. That’s fine; I’m a fan of partisanship and government gridlock–our rights remain safe when government does next to nothing.

But, another area where such divisions are shown is in state budgets, where red states have been the victim of disproportionate cuts in federal grants compared to that of their blue state neighbors (via Reuters):

"The U.S. has opened an investigation into allegations of misconduct by its own attorneys.."

Via avordvet

The arson destruction of Jay Dobyns' home is just part of a years'-long ordeal involving ATF's "breach of covenant."

Starting out quoting Shakespeare and ending up citing Kafka, Judge Francis M. Allegra’s conclusions about ATF conduct that led him to rule in favor of retired agent Jay Dobyns in a breach of covenant suit are scathingly revealed in his previously sealed opinion. That judgment was revoked after Allegra learned of “fraud upon the court” considerations, this column reported Sunday.

Leading his opinion with a verse from Othello, Allegra pointedly let the government defendants he ruled against know he considered them to have robbed Dobyns of his “good name.” Concluding his opinion with a reference comparing Dobyns’ ordeal to that imposed by the ‘totalitarian state” in “The Trial,” and calling it “Kafkaesque,” Allegra further observed that the conduct of "certain ATF officials ... bears little resemblance to the lofty sayings carved into the facades of the Department of Justice.” He was referring to “words now carved into the office rotunda of the Attorney General” that “The United States wins its point whenever justice is done its citizens in the courts.”

“Based on the breach of the covenant, the court finds that plaintiff [Dobyns] is entitled to damages in the amount of $173,000,” Allegra ordered in the opinion he has since revoked in order to pursue an investigation into further government misconduct. “The court concludes that defendant [ATF] is entitled to – nothing.”

Outrage Over Public Defender’s Arrest Caught on Video: ‘This Is Not Guantanamo Bay’

Via avordvet

San Francisco Deputy Public Defender Jami Tillotson was in a courtroom in the city’s Hall of Justice when she got the word: Police were interviewing and taking photographs of a client of hers elsewhere in the building.

So Tillotson left the courtroom, got to her client, and told him he didn’t have to answer any questions from police; she added to the inspector present that he had no right to take photos of her client or her client’s friend, who was also there, the San Francisco Examiner reported.

Soon someone started recording Tuesday’s incident on a cellphone camera.

America's Coolest Small Town 2015

Via Cousin Colby

(Population: 9,744)Locals like to say that Washington has a small town feel but big town activities. The waterfront downtown is a major draw, with a renovated theater, wonderful shops, and a wine-tasting scene that surprises some visitors. The Pamlico River is popular with the sailing crowd 10 months of the year, and hunting and fishing are thriving activities in the area. Founded in 1776 and named for General George Washington years before he became our nation's first president, this town wears its history proudly but lightly, sometimes referring to itself as "Little Washington."

American Small Business Is Literally Dying

 Going out of Business

According to Gallup, the United States now ranks 12th in the world in business startup activity. Italy, one of the weaker countries in the Eurozone, has a higher rate of business startups than the US. This isn’t a statistical quirk. Entrepreneurship, the special sauce that launches new business, is in steep decline here for the first time ever.

“When small and medium-sized businesses are dying faster than they’re being born, so is free enterprise,” writes Jim Clifton, Chairman and CEO of Gallup. “And when free enterprise dies, America dies with it.”

Open Jihad Declared in Egypt Following State Dept. Meeting with Muslim Brotherhood-Aligned Leaders

AP

The Muslim Brotherhood called for “a long, uncompromising jihad” in Egypt just days after a delegation of the Islamist group’s key leaders and allies met with the State Department, according to an official statement released this week.

Just days after a delegation that included two top Brotherhood leaders was hosted at the State Department, the organization released an official statement calling on its supporters to “prepare” for jihad, according to an independent translation of the statement first posted on Tuesday.

FDIC Changes Tactics in Response to Operation Choke Point

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has acknowledged its role in Operation Choke Point and is taking dramatic steps to reverse its policies in targeting legal and legitimate industries that are disfavored by the Obama administration.

“We’re very pleased they’ve acknowledged their wrongdoing and they’ve accepted our suggestions to put in place measures to stop this activity,” Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-Mo., told The Daily Signal in a phone call this morning.

Best New Rifles of 2015

                                                         SAVAGE MODEL 11 SCOUT

First, a few random notes. My lack of comments on the past couple of weeks’ posts was due to the fact that every several months or so, my MAC decides that my password is unacceptable and shuts me down. However, I’m now back in business, at least until it screws up again.

A fashion note from SHOT. This year, the big thing, if you had 18-inch biceps and a 19-point IQ, was a sleeveless T-shirt. There was a lot of this.

In at least one SHOT report, I’ve complained about the lack of ventilation at the show, and the farts that lie lurking like pockets of mustard gas on a World War I battlefield. This year I ran into two that would have brought a mule to its knees. It may have been the same person. If so, my advice to him is to see a gastroenterologist without delay; there’s something wrong with you. And a trip to the dry cleaner is probably in order as well.

Anyway, rifles. There were a lot of very good new ones this year, and here they are, not in any kind of order.

Lynch Will Take Up Holder's Torch of Injustice

Via Billy

Attorney General Eric Holder announced his resignation last September, effective when a replacement is confirmed. On Wednesday, Congress conducted the first day of hearings with that nominee, U.S. attorney Loretta Lynch. And it appears she’ll pick up right where Holder left off.

Early in the hearing, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) explained, “[T]he Attorney General is the premier law enforcement officer … in America. He or she sets the tone for law in America, the commitment to law, and must resist politicizing law and do the right thing on a daily basis.”

And Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) lamented, “Public confidence in the department’s ability to do its job without regard to politics has been shaken, with good reason.”

Indeed, what a tone Holder set. To name but a few egregious activities from the last six years in which he served as Barack Obama’s criminal co-conspirator, the AG trafficked illegal guns to Mexican drug cartels via Operation Fast and Furious, tossed an airtight voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia and sued Southern states over voter ID laws. So he’s leaving big shoes to fill.

Sessions to global warming alarmists: Cool it!

Via Billy

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) shows inaccuracy of global warming predictions.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has a message for global warming alarmists: Cool it.

Alabama’s junior senator took to the senate floor this week to express his frustration with the Obama Administration and its Environmental Protection Agency, which is seeking to impose trillions of dollars of regulations on the American economy, due to what Sessions argued is at best faulty logic and at worst outright propaganda.

“The scare tactics that we’ve been hearing are not coming to fruition,” he said. “(Yet) many members of Congress want to take drastic action that would increase the cost of electricity and gasoline… It would virtually end coal production in the United States… They claim that the science of global warming is settled, but I suggest questions remain.”

To back up his claims, Sessions went full-on classroom mode on the Senate floor, including pulling out charts and graphs to illustrate his points.

Here are four areas he believes prove that imposing further environmental regulations on the economy is irrational.

Forget Climategate: this ‘global warming’ scandal is much bigger

How can we believe in ‘global warming’ when the temperature records providing the ‘evidence’ for that warming cannot be trusted?

It’s a big question – and one which many people, even on the sceptical side of the argument, are reluctant to ask.

Here, for example, is one of the two most prominent English sceptics in the House of Lords, Matt Ridley outlining his own position.

Authorities could only find bones, hair and ripped clothing, which had likely been there for two weeks after she was reported missing.

Mystery of missing Confederate submarines resurfaces

A local historian and urban archaeologist thinks he's solved a mystery: What happened to four Confederate submersibles known to be in Shreveport during the last two years of the Civil War, but missing in action since then.

Marty Loschen, director of the Spring Street Museum in downtown Shreveport, thinks he's found remnants of the hand-propelled craft in the banks of a branch of Cross Bayou about a half-mile west of where the Confederate Navy had a shipyard. At Cross Bayou's mouth on Red River, it was home to the leaky ironclad CSS Missouri and a fast packet, the Webb, whose presence overshadowed the humbler underwater vessels.

Bush's DHS Secretaries Join With Napolitano: Fund Obama's Amnesty

Mitch McConnell
Three former secretaries of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)--including two that served under Republican President George W. Bush--have sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) urging him not to include language in the DHS funding bill to prohibit President Obama unilateral executive actions on immigration that will allow as many as five million illegal aliens to stay in the United States without fear of deportation.

They said that if Congress did include such language in the bill "the likelihood of a Department of Homeland Security shutdown increases." In other words: President Obama might veto the bill and shutdown the department.

Investor Warning: South Africa

 https://endzog.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/snapshot000052.jpg?w=510

The accompanying cutting, from today’s Mercury, serves to confirm that South Africa is indisputably on a Zimbabwe-style road to rack-and-ruin: Black ANC government ministers, including King Kong himself, regularly attend overseas’ business conferences to attract Overseas’ Investors. Any potential Investors must, however, be warned about the accompanying article and be warned about the treachery of our black leadership scum. Furthermore, I must remind potential investors about the perils of the ANC government’s racist Affirmative Action/Employment Equity, and BEE, regulations:  inexperienced, poorly-educated, parasitical blacks must be given employment preference, irrespective of more competent, better-qualified Whites.

Stipulated minimum wages, furthermore, are proving to be very inflationary in the light of poor productivity. Similarly, Black Economic Empowerment is a situation in which politically-connected blacks get handed huge sums of cash, to start their own businesses, but these morons seem to think that “turnover is profit,” and spend everything on big homes, luxury vehicles and expensive clothes, etc. The BEE success rate is estimated to be less-than 10% but government continues with this drain on our fiscus!

A long story but l would certainly think twice before investing in this Gucci-Socialistic, crime-ridden country!

Kind regards,

Les Vincent
