Your Tax Dollars Paid for Boston Bomber's Family's Trip to U.S.
Via Joe
Survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing are outraged after learning that family members of convicted bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were flown to the U.S., put up in a hotel and provided with extensive security – all paid for with taxpayer dollars.
"Fox and Friends Weekend" broke down the numbers, and they are shocking.
Anna Kooiman reported that it cost $2,500 per person to fly to the U.S. from Amsterdam, $200 per person a night at the hotel, $100,000 for round-the-clock security, plus lawyer fees.
"[This] shouldn't surprise you because you've been paying for it since day one," Tucker Carlson said. "Mrs. Tsarnaev was brought here along with her boys, the ones she claimed that were wronged, at your expense."

Poke Sallet: A great Southern Springtime tradition and yummy too!
Thought some of y'all might find this interesting. Just picked me a big mess from way out back by the blacksmith shop. It was a delicacy I looked forward to every spring when I was growing up in Ky. Not to mention the home made corn bread at nearly every meal. Many of our Confederate ancestors used it in their meager diets during the WBTS as it grows wild, very prolifically all over the South.

Pokeweed is a wild plant that grows almost anywhere there is lots of sun. The roots are extremely poisonous but have been used for various medicinal purposes. The tender young shoots are edible and are considered a delicacy. With the coming of Spring in the southern Appalachian Mountains, they love to make polk salad. There is actually a Poke Salad (Sallet) Festival in June in Harlan, Kentucky.
Poke Salad
4 quarts young tender poke shoots or 2 cans poke salad greens
1/4 cup bacon drippings
1 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
Wash poke shoots well. Place in a large kettle with water to coveer and bring to a boil. Drain. Cover again with water, bring to a boil, and cook for another 20 minutes. Drain well.
Place in a cast-iron frying pan with bacon drippings and salt. Cook at medium heat for 30 minutes.
Add eggs and stir until eggs are done, Serve with corn bread and green onions.

1/4 cup flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons shortening, melted
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Combine all ingredients and mix well.

NC: Aunt Abby House: Confederate Angel of Mercy
Abby House, Confederate "angel of mercy," was the daughter of Green and Ann House of Granville and Franklin counties. It is unclear where Abby was born, but she spent most of her adult life near Franklinton. Although her given name probably was Abigail, she came to be known as "Aunt Abby," and is most remembered for her aid to Confederate soldiers during the Civil War.
When the war began, she pledged to her eight nephews that she would do what was necessary to help them if they became sick or wounded. In fulfilling her promise she made frequent trips to Virginia on foot and by train. Although she rarely had enough money for train fare, her rough features, shrewd eyes, black mourning clothes, feisty personality, and ever-present cane convinced conductors of the expedience of allowing her to travel at no cost.

NC: History as No More Splendid Scene to Record
North Carolina Governor Zebulon Vance’s address to his grim veterans beneath tattered battle flags in March 1864 was described as a picturesque and inspiring scene, and attended by “many hundreds of the fair women of Virginia on horseback and in carriages.” At rest then along the foothills of the Blue Ridge, in five weeks Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia would be on the flank of Grant’s invading army.

History as No More Splendid Scene to Record
“Mr. Speaker . . . the General Assembly of North Carolina, during the year 1907, adopted without a dissenting voice a resolution authorizing the governor and council of state to place a statue of Zebulon Baird Vance in Statuary Hall. The bill was introduced by Hon. J.C. Buxton, senator from Forsyth County. No man or woman living in North Carolina doubts that above all others he is eminently entitled to this distinction.
He was devotedly attached to the Union and exerted himself to prevent its dissolution. He was opposed to secession until the proclamation of President Lincoln calling for troops to coerce the Southern States left him no choice. The destiny of North Carolina was his destiny. When once the loyalty of North Carolina was pledged to her sister States of the South, his loyalty was unalterably linked with hers.
No period of his eventful life was marked by an incident more attractive by its glamour of romance and patriotic heroism than his visit to the North Carolina troops in [General Robert E.] Lee’s army in March, 1864.
The North Carolina troops whom he visited comprised thirteen brigades, aggregating more than one-half of the army. They were encamped along the bank of the Rapidan River. General Lee, with members of his staff captivated by the eloquence of Vance and the lofty sentiments to which he gave expression, accompanied him from brigade to brigade.
The enthusiasm of the soldiers knew no bounds. It was the prelude to the campaign which soon after commenced, in which they won imperishable renown. His last speech was made at a general review of Lee’s army near Orange Court house. It was ordered by that great commander as a special compliment to Vance, an honor bestowed upon none other in all its history. No orator in all the annals of time ever had an audience whose presence was more calculated to inspire heroic sentiment and high resolve. It was the remnant of the Army of Northern Virginia.
Upon its banners were names which will long live during the ages to come – Manassas, Chancellorsville, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg. The greatest commander of the English-speaking race was beside him. Stonewall Jackson had gone to his final rest. [General James Johnston] Pettigrew had joined him in immortality.
But A.P. Hill and D.H. Hill, [James] Longstreet and [Richard] Ewell, [Jubal] Early and [John B.] Gordon were all before him. They forgot the fields of their glory as they listened to him. JEB Stuart was there and never so happy, unless at the head of a cavalry charge. [General Robert F.] Hoke of North Carolina, who had established his reputation forever as one of the foremost of all the great soldiers of the Civil War, gazed upon [Vance] with mingled pride and affection. [All present] leaned forward to catch his every utterance. History has no more splendid scene to record.”

When I was a young officer and jet fighter pilot flying missions in the
Korean Conflict (unknowingly under the command of a Soviet General of
the United Nations Security Council), I could never understand HOW THE
ENEMY KNEW SO MUCH ABOUT US, as broadcast almost daily over the
communist Pyongyang radio station in North Korea.
Our wives' names, children's names, Squadron Commander names, flight numbers, etc.! The North Koreans knew when we were coming, how many of us there were, what type of aircraft we were flying and even the targets we were to hit. Later I realized that the naval and ground forces suffered the same fate that we did, especially our Army and Marine infantry troops.
All of our military operations had to be forwarded by radio to the Soviet Commander of the United Nations Security Council at the United Nations Building, New York City, for approval before our forces went into action against the North Koreans and Red Chinese.
The Soviet Commander of the United Nations Security Council delayed the battle plans until he used the radios in the United Nations Building in New York to relay all our "battle planning information" to Moscow, North Korea and Red China.
The enemy then contacted and relayed these battle plans to their communist forces in the field. The enemy knew when to move from an area and when to attack our smaller fighting forces. They knew beforehand when we were coming and how many of us there were. They knew everything about us all the time - 24 hours a day!
I later found this same form of "treason" was used against our forces in the Vietnam War.
All information regarding "every battle plan in Vietnam" was given to the North Vietnamese, Soviets (Advisors), and Viet Cong Troops in the field DURING THE ENTIRE WAR. The enemy knew our every move at all times.
Our troops were led like sheep to the slaughter in both Korea and Viet Nam. Like blind fools we sent our combat plans to the enemy for approval.

Grant Abandons His Suffering Prisoners
Northern authorities reported in May 1864 that Grant had 141,160 effective troops and a reserve of 137,672 men arrayed against General Robert E. Lee’s ragged force of 50,000 with little or no reserve. Though speaking of humanity regarding prisoners, Grant revealed no moral dilemma in hurling his limitless supply of recruits in suicidal charges – losing the equivalent of Lee’s full strength at the Wilderness.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com
Grant Abandons His Suffering Prisoners
“Jefferson Davis made several proposals for the exchange of prisoners, but his plea met deaf ears in the North. Grant, who had paroled 29,000 Confederate prisoners at Vicksburg on their word alone, did a turnabout on Davis’ question and was heartily opposed. During the mid-summer of 1864 Grant wrote an indirect reply to Davis:
“On the subject of exchange of prisoners, however, I differ from General [E.A.] Hitchcock. It is hard on our men held in Southern prisons not to exchange them, but it is humanity to those left in the ranks to fight our battles. Every man released on parole, or otherwise, becomes an active soldier against us at once either directly or indirectly. If we commence a system of exchange, which liberates all prisoners taken, we will have to fight on until the whole South is exterminated. If we hold on to those caught, they amount to no more than dead men. At this particular time to release all rebel prisoners North would insure Sherman’s defeat, and would compromise our safety here.”
As it appeared to Davis, able-bodied prisoners need not be exchanged. To relieve the Confederacy of the responsibility of taking care of the sick and wounded prisoners, Davis offered to return without equivalents, 15,000 sick and badly wounded prisoners at an arranged meeting place at . . . the Savannah River. This offer would stand if transportation were supplied by the North.
In the meantime pictures by the Confederate photographers of the conditions at Andersonville were sent to the Northern government to stimulate action on Davis’ proposal. An eyewitness to the taking of these photographs was a soldier of the North . . . [who] wrote: “I was a prisoner of war in that place during the summer of 1864 and I well remember seeing a photographer with his camera in one of the sentinel boxes near the south gate during July or August . . . I have often wondered in later years what success this photographer had and why the [Northern] public never had the opportunity of seeing a genuine photograph of Andersonville.”
The pictures were sent to Washington. Who received them, or for what purpose they were to be used, was never made public. There is no record of them in Northern journals. But that they were used is indicated by Jefferson Davis who in writing about the incident states:
“The photographs were terrible indeed, but the misery they portrayed was surpassed by some of those we received in exchange in Savannah. Why was this delay between summer and November in sending vessels for sick and wounded, for whom no equivalents were asked? Were the Federal prisoners left to suffer, and afterward photographed to aid in firing the popular heart of the North?”

Democratic Party Absorbs Soviet Bill of Rights
Confronted with a Democratic party platform nearly identical to theirs, the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) in early 1944 formally dissolved as a political party and perennial CPUSA presidential candidate Earl Browder announced his support of President Roosevelt for a fourth term. Browder’s vice-presidential running mate in 1936 and 1940 was James W. Ford, the first black man on a presidential ticket.
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com
Democratic Party Absorbs Soviet Bill of Rights
“[The] historic Democratic party is no more, that it has been transformed into a labor party so completely that there is nothing left of it but the name. The process by which [the] transformation . . . was brought about had its beginnings during the period of “crisis government” established by Franklin D. Roosevelt and his “brain trust” in 1933. Measures having far-reaching application and effect were drafted by the President’s “advisors” and were jammed through Congress, frequently without most of the members having an opportunity to read them.
Mr. Roosevelt had been elected in 1932 by an electoral majority of eight to one . . . In such circumstances, Congress practically abdicated. It became literally a “rubber stamp” Congress. And Republican Senators and Representatives, with the majority of their constituents supporting President Roosevelt, were careful not to show too much opposition to measures which he favored. That’s why is was so easy to junk the Democratic platform of 1932 and to enact so many measures that violated the most fundamental principles of the historic Democratic party without protest from Southern Democrats, and even with their support.
One sequence [of the transformation] began during the period from 1935 to 1937, or at the very height of what Eugene Lyons has called “The Red Decade,” when it was fashionable in certain circles in New York, Los Angeles and Washington to glorify all things Russian and to affect a “revolutionary” attitude toward all existing institutions in the United States. It was a time when literally dozens of organizations with high-sounding names were set up in this country by the Communists to attract innocent “fellow travelers” and when The Daily Worker undertook to popularize the slogan “Communism is the Americanism of the Twentieth Century.”
In February, 1935, Joseph Stalin announced that the Russian Constitution would be democratized; in June, 1936, the first draft of the new Soviet Constitution was completed and published, [and adopted December 5, 1936]. It was promptly translated into English and by February, 1937, copies of it in the form of a five-cent pamphlet were available throughout this country. It immediately became the leading topic of discussion among the so-called “liberals” in the United States.
[The] Soviet Bill of Rights . . . guarantees every citizen a job . . . the right to material security in old age and also in case of illness and loss of capacity to toil . . . [and] “The equal rights of citizens of the USSR, independent of their nationality and race, in all fields of economic, state, cultural and public-political life is unalterable law. Any direct or indirect limitation of rights, or conversely, any establishment of direct or indirect preferences of citizens dependent on their racial and national membership, as well as all preaching of national exclusiveness, or hate and contempt, is punishable by law.”
[In late January, 1944] President Roosevelt revealed that the [New Deal] was being replaced by a streamlined post-war program. Here is what President Roosevelt said:
“As our nation had grown in size and stature, however – as our industrial economy expanded – [our previous life and liberty] political rights proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness. We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident.
We have accepted, so to speak, a second bill of rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all – regardless of station, race or creed. Among these are: The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or mines of the nation; The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation; The right of every business man, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad; The right of every family to a decent home; The right of adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health; The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident and unemployment; The right to a good education.”
The striking resemblance which this whole passage bears to the . . . Soviet Bill of Rights need not be dwelt upon.
In his message to Congress on September 6, 1945, President Truman said: “The objectives for our domestic economy which we seek in long-range plans were summarized by the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt over a year and a half ago in the form of an Economic Bill of rights. Let us make the attainment of those rights the essence of post-war American economic life.”
Notably, he issued a “salute to labor” on Labor Day, 1946, and more recently on June 28, 1947 . . . he discussed the subject in an address to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People at Lincoln Memorial in Washington. In his “salute to labor,” President Truman said:
“Labor, perhaps more than any other group, has consistently supported [FDR’s] “Economic Bill of Rights.” We must now move forward to full achievement of these objectives: useful and remunerative jobs for all; income high enough to provide adequate food, clothing and recreation; freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopoly; adequate health protection; more effective social security measures, and educational opportunities for all.”
In his more recent address to the [NAACP], by coupling these “economic” rights with other civil rights, he stated clearly . . . that it is the responsibility of the federal government to guarantee and to enforce these new rights. “The extension of civil rights today means not protection of the people AGAINST the government, but protection of the people BY the government.”

Folks, I must admit that I firmly believe this fable is a farce to fool the gullible who naively think that if there are two political parties out there then they really have a choice when they vote. This charade has been cleverly played out in every election at least since the Spanish American War and probably a few before it.
The ruling One World Government Elite in this country long ago learned that as long as they continued to give the American voting public some form to go by then they could eat out the real substance of the system and no one would ever notice, or at least not enough would notice to make any tangible difference.

Not long ago Google announced that as of April 21, “we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.” That’s a major change.
But what does that mean exactly?
It means that preferential ranking treatment is now given to sites that are “optimized” for mobile. It also means that having a mobile-friendly website will no longer be a nice option to give your customers—it’ll be absolutely essential.
The good news is it’s pretty easy to see if your site makes the grade. Check out Google Developers' Mobile-Friendly Test, enter your site’s URL, and after a quick analysis, you’ll see where you stand. While you're at it, get graded now on your site's mobile and desktop speed.
Google will also show you a screenshot of what their system interprets your site to look like on a smartphone.
