Race will drive elections—perhaps to the point of secession.

 

One of the most important looming events in American politics is the transformation of the Democrats into a majority-minority party. The Census Bureau predicts the United States will not become majority-minority until 2045, but the Democratic Party will reach that milestone 20 years early, possibly in 2020 but no later than 2024. Liberals have been confidently predicting an emerging and permanent Democratic majority, but they did not anticipate the white backlash this is producing.

Both the Obama and Trump elections now appear to be harbingers of a new political realignment—one that will revolve increasingly around race.

Good Riddance to bad Rubbish: Army officer ‘socialist organizer’ Spenser Rapone gets other than honorable discharge

West Point graduate and now former Army infantry officer Spenser Rapone has been processed out of the U.S. Army and received an other than honorable discharge from the military after a photo he posted with his West Point cap and the words “Communism will win” went viral.

Rapone came under fire last year for his social media posts of socialist and communist content. He went viral after posting a photo to Twitter of himself in support of professional football player Colin Kaepernick, where Rapone is seen in his West Point uniform at graduation holding his cap that contains a piece of paper that says “Communism will win.”

Illinois demorats propose national firearms licensing system

Press release from representative Bobby Rush, dated June 6:

“Today, U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) and U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) introduced the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2018.  This legislation would prohibit unlicensed gun-ownership and transferring or receiving firearms without a valid firearms license, as well as direct the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.

After 16 years of calling for a mate during breeding season, my Peacock hit the jackpot from the woods across the field. She (I  hope as aren't positive) seems perfectly at home after about 10 hours here and my Peacock is happy as can be. :) Wish I had my camera with me when I went outside once as the Peacock was chasing the Peahen around and around the box wood. :) Reminded me of a Laurel and Hardy show.

Austria's right-wing government plans to shut down seven mosques and expel up to 40 foreign-funded imams in crackdown against Islamist ideology

 

Austria said today it could expel up to 60 Turkish-funded imams and their families and would shut down seven mosques as part of a crackdown on 'political Islam' that was described as 'just the beginning', triggering fury in Ankara.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the government is shutting a hardline Turkish nationalist mosque in Vienna and dissolving a group called the Arab Religious Community that runs six mosques.

VIDEO: Well-aimed cans of baked beans ended armed standoff

Bay County sheriff's Maj. Jimmy Stanford snuck up on a suspect armed with a hammer and hit him in the back with two cans of beans he grabbed from the shelf in order to distract him so Sheriff Tommy Ford, Chief Deputy Joel Heape and Deputy Austin Thomas could take him down without serious injury. The call came in as a man armed with a gun who had shot someone and Ford, Heape and Stanford happened to be nearby and were the first to arrive on the scene Thursday.

Key Evidence in House Hacking Probe Mysteriously Disappeared

A server belonging to the House Democratic Caucus went missing in early 2017 after it had been identified by the inspector general as a key piece of evidence in a hacking probe.

The Office of Inspector General had found months earlier that a group of House IT workers had logged in to the server 5,735 times during the surveyed period between October 2015 and April 2016.

The IT workers, most of whom were members of the Awan family, were working at that time for dozens of House Democrats, earning an estimated $7 million since 2004.

Tennessee store puts 'No Gays Allowed' sign back up after Supreme Court cake ruling

A Tennessee hardware store owner is celebrating the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of a bakery that refused to bake a cake for a gay couple's wedding by placing a "No Gays Allowed" sign in front of his store.

Jeff Amyx, who owns Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies in Grainger County, initially posted the sign in 2015 after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage but later removed it following intense backlash.

The sign returned this week, however, after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, according to WBIR 10.

Amyx told the local NBC affiliate that the ruling came as a shock to him, calling the decision a victory for Christianity.

Senior Justice Department officials announced late Thursday criminal charges against Senate Intelligence Committee’s long-time director of security James Wolfe.

The indictment charges Wolfe with making false statements to the FBI and details how Wolfe passed classified information, including presumably information related to one-time Trump campaign aide Carter Page, to a series of media outlets, confirming long-standing suspicions of the career intelligence community’s complicity in leaks. The three-count indictment charges Wolfe with separate instances of making false statements to the FBI, not directly charging him for leaking classified information, but appearing to detail how he did allegedly leaked classified information to reporters and then allegedly lied about it to the FBI.
