SurvivalBlog's IP Address -- A Modest Insurance Policy
"I began to sense faintly that secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy ... censorship. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, this you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives."

Litttle Girls Are Sugar And Spice, Well Sometimes........
Oleg Volk
"Little girls can be sweet and charming
Flighty like petals upon the wind
Their demeanor oh so disarming
But trust me, they play to win
You might worry about fathers
Who are protective and gruff
But a properly raised young lady
Can look after her own life
Pretty blades still cut to the bone
Fuzzy holsters hold real guns
Rifles, be they pink or purple
Still launch bullets and visit harm
Little girls can be sweet and charming
Treat them well and that's all you'll see
But the predators should remember
These butterflies sting like bees"

Pigford Settlement Fraud Opening Floodgates For Other Groups’ "Reparations" Claims
"Happy Reparations Day, America! Tucked away in news reports about the “grand bargain” on extending the Bush era tax cuts while prolonging unemployment benefits is this week’s presidential signing of the Pigford II settlement. Totaling $1.25 billion in taxpayer money, the December 8 ceremony is shaping up to be a case study in how to use tax dollars to fund reparations."

Wikileaks Spurs Big Brother To Strike
As Commentary editor Gabriel Schoenfeld wrote in the WSJ this week: WikiLeaks "is not informing our democracy but waging war on its ability to conduct diplomacy and defend itself."
Funny, but I feel more informed -- and particularly about what a rotten job the government knows it's doing in conducting diplomacy and waging war on democracy's behalf. I know more about the government's feckless accommodation of incomparable corruption in Afghanistan; its callousness toward Pakistani government support for the Taliban and other groups fighting our soldiers in Afghanistan; its inability to prevail upon "banker" China to stop facilitating the military rise of Iran (mentioned above but worth a reminder) and its failures to prevail upon aid-recipient Pakistan to allow us to secure its vulnerable nuclear assets"

Americans Still Strongly Favor Audit Of The Fed
"Looks like the Republicans want the fox watching the henhouse. Ron Paul, one of Congress’ sharpest critics of the Federal Reserve, has been chosen to lead the House subcommittee that monitors the Fed’s activities, and he promises to push again for a full audit of the nation’s central bank. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that Americans remain overwhelmingly in favor of auditing the Fed: 74% of Adults think it’s a good idea."
Congress To Address 'Anchor Baby' Issue
"This is uncontrolled immigration. It's rewarding illegals who sneak into the United States, and we can fix it by statute," he explains. "We don't have to amend the Constitution. The clause in there -- 'subject to the jurisdiction thereof' -- is the clause that we apply. We can just pass a law that says we're not going to give automatic citizenship to the babies born to illegal mothers, because those [women] are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States," the Republican lawmaker suggests. "They're subject to the jurisdiction of some foreign country -- whatever their home country is."

Anna Ardin, Julian Assange Rape Accuser, May Have Ceased Pursuing Claims
"In a society under the forms of which the stronger faction can readily unite and oppress the weaker, anarchy may as truly be said to reign as in a state of nature."
