One FBI text message in Russia probe that should alarm every American

Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the reported FBI lovebirds, are
the poster children for the next “Don’t Text and Investigate” public
service ads airing soon at an FBI office near you.
Their
extraordinary texting affair on their government phones has given the
FBI a black eye, laying bare a raw political bias brought into the
workplace that agents are supposed to check at the door when they strap
on their guns and badges.
It is no longer in dispute that they held animus for Donald Trump, who was a subject of their Russia probe, or that they openly discussed using the powers of their office to “stop” Trump
from becoming president. The only question is whether any official acts
they took in the Russia collusion probe were driven by those
sentiments.
The Justice Department’s inspector general is endeavoring to answer that question.
For
any American who wants an answer sooner, there are just five words,
among the thousands of suggestive texts Page and Strzok exchanged, that
you should read.
That passage was transmitted on May 19, 2017. “There’s no big there there,” Strzok texted.

Southerners confronted by Northerners touring our section are made aware of the difference in their speech from ours. They approach us speaking a form of English known outside the United States as “American.” We of the South also like to consider ourselves American; however, it has long been an accepted belief that we Southerners have an accent. And not just a different accent but a laughable accent. We are hesitant to ask the Northern visitor to repeat; he will laugh at us.
Unlike France, the United States has no Academie Francaise to issue the final word on pronunciation and usage, no court of appeal as to what constitutes good speech.
Who then determines what is accent and what is “correct American?”

Rubio, Scott Lead Assault on Conservative Judge, Take Down ‘Qualified’ Nominee
Republican Sens. Marco Rubio and Tim Scott torpedoed a conservative nominee to the Ninth Circuit appeals court on Thursday whom even liberals called qualified for the bench, citing college-era political comments, energizing Democrats, and creating a new line of attack against the confirmations of dozens of other judicial picks, including Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court.
Ryan Bounds, an Oregon federal prosecutor who clerked for Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain on the Ninth Circuit, had an impressive array of credentials that impressed people on the left and the right. Even the left-wing American Bar Association (ABA) unanimously voted to rate Bounds as “qualified” for the Ninth Circuit after they reviewed his full record, showing that even those firmly aligned with liberal priorities acknowledge that college-era political riffs do not disqualify someone from a federal judgeship.

Despite Setbacks, Confederate Heritage Defenders Not Backing Down
A handful of monuments have been removed, a couple have been relocated (still standing), a few are in the process of being moved (to remain in public view), and a handful of ridiculous (and easily removable) "context" signs have been added.
More importantly, what have they NOT been able to accomplish...? THOUSANDS of monuments are still standing, and more flags and monuments are going up every day.
The haters are lashing out and losing their minds because they are LOSING support and their days are numbered. Kentucky Governor Beriah Magoffin replied to Lincoln’s illegal request for troops in April 1861 with “I will send not a man nor a dollar for the wicked purpose of subduing my sister Southern States.” His State government tried in vain to maintain neutrality while he personally championed a peaceful settlement between North and South, and acceptance of the Crittenden Compromise proposed by fellow Kentuckian, John J. Crittenden. With the increasing number of Northern troops in his State and the consequent political intimidation, he was forced from office in favor of a Lincoln-appointed military proconsul. “On August 18, 1861, a meeting was held in Scott County, Ky., of a number of prominent Democrats; and after a full discussion of the situation, it was determined to send commissioners to Washington and Richmond, with a view to ascertaining, if possible, whether the neutrality of Kentucky would be respected by both sides.
Upon the recommendations of this conference, Governor Magoffin appointed Frank K. Hunt and W.A. Dudley, both Union men, as commissioners to Washington, and George W. Johnson commissioner to Richmond.
In the letter to President [Jefferson] Davis sent in response to that written him by Governor Magoffin, an borne by Mr. Johnson, appears the following language, which certainly very logically and properly summed up the situation:
“The government of the Confederate States has not only respected most scrupulously the neutrality of Kentucky, but has continued to maintain the friendly relation of trade and intercourse which it has suspended with the United States generally. But neutrality, to be entitled to respect, must be strictly maintained by both parties . . .”
Mr. Lincoln replied that he did not believe that it was “the popular wish of Kentucky that the Federal force already there should be removed, and with this impression I must decline to remove it.”
This declaration made it plain to men of all shades of political opinion in Kentucky that the occupation of the State by Federal troops would be continued, and that their number would be increased, not only to completely suppress any sentiment in favor of the Confederacy and action taken in that behalf, but in order to make Kentucky a base of military operations against the States further South.
In a very short time after this declaration by Mr. Lincoln, numerous arrests were made of Kentuckians of known Southern sympathies, or of prominent men who ventured even to question the legality of the aggressive acts committed by Union leaders.
George W. Johnson was one of the first and boldest to denounce such tyranny. He escaped arrest by quitting his home and seeking the Tennessee border within a few hours before the soldiers who were ordered to make him a prisoner arrived at his house.”

Surely George W. and his Dad had studied this landmark Supreme Court decision in the course of those searching discussions of American history they must have had during long winter evenings at the ranch. And what of Attorney General John Ashcroft, ipso facto learned in the law, who presumably composed the order and to whom the Milligan decision must have been as mother’s milk? The two highest law enforcers of the land certainly could not have forgotten the case, famous as it is. If they had not, they must either have found it to be unclear or ambiguous, or they must have decided to sweep it aside and take the law into their own hands.

As the latest survey from Gallup shows: when asked what the most important problem facing the nation is, Russia did not even warrant a 1% - and worse still, it is declining in importance from there.
