An increasing number of private medical groups now are offering ‘concierge care’, charging a monthly or yearly membership fee, and then providing nearly unlimited care at rates that are dramatically lower than insurance premiums.  Physicians and nurse practitioners in these groups are free to treat patients as they see fit, not as directed by insurance companies. –GEG

When Marxist Democrats under Dear Leader Obama decided to allow the federal government to completely take over the health coverage industry, they did so knowing that everyone at some time in their lives will need health care.

On that point, of course, the Marxists were right.

But Democrats also believed that they would ensconce within the authoritarian federal bureaucracy for all time complete government control of the type, kind, and amount of health care Americans could and would receive, simply by deciding what would – and would not – be paid for.

On this point, the Marxists got it wrong.

If not for his outsize ambition, Pat Buchanan might be the closest thing the American right has to a real-life Forrest Gump, that patriot from ordinary stock whose life journey positioned him to witness, influence and narrate the pivotal moments that shaped our modern world and changed the course of this country’s history.

Trump promises 'massive' tax cut plan next week & Signs Executive Order to Reduce Tax Regulatory Burdens

President Trump promised Friday that the administration would announce a tax reform plan on Wednesday, one that would include major tax cuts.

"We'll be having a big announcement on Wednesday having to do with tax reform," Trump said at an executive order signing at the Treasury Friday afternoon. "The process has begun long ago, but it really formally begins on Wednesday."

Ann Coulter condemns Berkeley protestors who have committed "viewpoint discrimination" and hurt her reputation. Coulter talked to Sean Hannity about the monetary damage done to her -- hotel and security costs -- and the result a "beta male" can do with a weapon to a 99-pound woman.

Berkeley canceled Coulter's speech to the university, then decided to reschedule it to another date at another venue. Coulter has said she will deliver her speech on the date that was originally set as the new date would coincide with a period of time where students would not be on campus. Black Man Accused of Leaving ‘No Black People Allowed’ Hoax Sign at U Of Southern California

The University of Southern California has apparently identified the person who put up a “No Black People Allowed” sign and a Confederate flag on campus as a black man who’s not studying at the university.

According to The Tab, the university’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently questioning the man, suspecting he recently put up the inflammatory placard together with a Confederate flag and “#MAGA” – meaning President Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again”.

The student outlet reported that the man isn’t “affiliated with the university” and acted because of disagreement with someone. The man was supposedly identified by DPS after a security camera recorded the incident.

This week, President Trump began pushing with full force his “Buy American, Hire American” program, which has been clarified as being one of the more important elements of the economic nationalist program.

The three parts of “Buy American, Hire American” are as follows:

1. American companies should only hire American labor.
2. Any government contract should go to an American company.
3. To protect American producers from “domestic competition”, we should revoke/alter international trade agreements.

Months before Donald Trump blew up American politics with his surprise win in November, he did the same thing to the conservative media. Through much of the campaign, two very different media moguls with colliding visions for the Republican Party vied for Trump’s soul: Roger Ailes, the longtime president and CEO of Fox News, and Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of the populist online tabloid Breitbart. Both were angling to be the media Svengali whispering in Trump’s ear.

At one point, it seemed they might have been allies: Bannon worked to insinuate himself at Fox, and Ailes’ network aired some of his populist documentaries. Then came the first Republican primary debate in August 2015, when Megyn Kelly, Fox’s feisty prime-time anchor, hammered the candidate from all sides. It was at that moment that Bannon says his relationship with Ailes began to sour. “The big rift between Breitbart and Fox was all over Megyn Kelly. She was all over Trump nonstop,” Bannon said in an interview. He says he warned Ailes that Kelly would betray him. “I told him then, I said, ‘She’s the devil, and she will turn on you.’”

The Trump administration put nine of the country’s top sanctuary cities on notice Friday that they could soon have to give up some federal funds unless they can prove they are no longer thwarting Homeland Security’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

The entire state of California is being targeted, as are the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cook County in Illinois and Miami-Dade County in Florida round out the list.

In letters to each of the nine jurisdictions the Justice Department said they signed documents last year, when they applied for Byrne Justice Assistance Grant money, saying they complied with a section of federal law that demands cooperation when immigration agents ask for it.

Insurance is RISK POOLING.

A group of people get together, generally under the organization of a for-profit entity, and each person or unit pays into a pool.  The purpose of the pool is to pay out to any paying member of the risk pool SHOULD AN ADVERSE EVENT HAPPEN TO THEM.  In a sane world, these adverse events are rare, unforeseen and catastrophic or potentially catastrophic.

The more people that pay into the pool, the lower the premiums can be – to a point.  Why?  Because across large groups, analysts and statisticians within the for-profit company can estimate, with greater and greater precision, the number of adverse incidents that will probably occur within the risk pool group. This is called ACTUARIAL SCIENCE, and a person who studies the frequency or risk of certain events across large groups or populations is called an ACTUARY.  So, the larger the risk pool, the more precise and accurate the actuarial studies can be.  It is impossible to predict what will happen to one individual person over the course of, say, the next year.  HOWEVER, it is possible, and morally licit, to say that over the course of the next year, within a group of, say, 100,000 people, how many can reasonably be expected to be diagnosed with cancer, get in a serious car wreck, have a heart attack, be run over by a Zamboni machine, etc.

If one totaled up the earnings of black Americans and considered us as a separate nation with our own gross domestic product, we would rank among the 20 richest nations. It was a black American, Gen. Colin Powell, who once headed the world's mightiest military. Black Americans are among the world's most famous personalities, and a few are among the world's richest people.

The significance of these and other achievements is that at the end of the Civil War, neither a slave nor a slave owner would have believed such progress would be possible in a little over a century — if ever. As such, it speaks to the intestinal fortitude of a people. Just as importantly, it speaks to the greatness of a nation in which such gains were possible. Nowhere else on the face of the earth would such progress be possible except in the United States of America. The big and thorny issue that confronts our nation is how these gains can be extended to the one-third or more of the black population for whom they have proved elusive.
