Daryl Fisher: Any weapon that is designed for use by the military I think we should ban. You’ve heard people say you have to pry my gun from my cold dead hands. (shrugs) OK.

The March Up North

Three different view points from three “Copperhead” brothers from Illinois.

These three young men each learned  firearm safety, range safety, and how to shoot from the age of five with their first rifles. These three consider themselves “Riflemen” and patriots. They understand the historic and cultural significance of all of the flags that have flow over different parts of this nation at different times during it’s history and the reverence that they deserve. Far from the vast majority of young people today , they had no problem with being outnumbered 100+ to one to show their support for their inalienable rights. I can say with great pride, that  these three young men are my sons.

Your “Northern Copperhead” friend

To the men and women who came to the protest in protest of the protest, thank you. You're support of your inalienable rights has shown me that you truly care about your freedom. Saturday morning at around 10:30 my brothers and I went to the protest at Downers Grove North highschool. The crowd wasn't so big, maybe 50 people or so, all of them except for the three of us being liberal. The day was as cold as many of there hearts, as one of the coordinators was spouting about the protest over the microphone. I remember her stating that "there will be people here protesting us, they are only here to make you angry and to start fights" she said quietly over the microphone. Do you see republicans breaking and burning down buildings? Tearing apart and beating down on people? No, you'll rarely ever see that from the right. When 11 am started to come round people start of showing up, kinda leaky like, but it ended with a crowd of maybe 200 or so. 90% I'd say all liberal. People spoke, students and the politicians alike had there speeches, all of there facts coming from liberal news outlets, hmm. The best two parts of the day were the young ladies in our Girl Scouts coming around and selling cookies, and then at the end of the protest the handful of republican protesters that we met up with. All friendly faces and eager to meet the "kids in the wrong protest" as one gun protester put.

Who Won the Webster-Hayne Debate of 1830?

 Webster replying to hayne

The dominant historical opinion of the famous debate between Daniel Webster of Massachusetts and Robert Young Hayne of South Carolina which took place in the United States Senate in 1830 has long been that Webster defeated Hayne both as an orator and a statesman. According to the legend, Webster managed in the course of the debate to isolate the South, especially South Carolina, by discrediting her political principles of states’ rights, strict construction, and nullification, and exposing them as dangerous to the permanency of the Union. In addition, it is said that he imparted prestige and authority to the National Republican principles of implied powers, federal supremacy, and perpetual Union.

From that moment onward, according to the legend, Americans increasingly saw the Constitution not as a compact among independent states but as a product of the people of the nation. Americans contemplated a national government not strictly limited by the Constitution but one empowered by it to promote national development and the public good. It is further claimed that Webster’s peroration with its paean to “Union and Liberty, now and forever, one and inseparable” captured the imagination of the people and engendered a new spirit of nationalism. This legend with its origins in the nineteenth century has remained unchallenged to this day and continues to be taken for granted by historians working in the antebellum period.[1]

NC: Parkland outrage should be directed at law enforcement, not the NRA

Image result for Parkland outrage should be directed at law enforcement, not the NRA

The National Rifle Association, millions of law abiding gun owners, and the Second Amendment had absolutely nothing to do with the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting on Feb. 14.

The killer Nikolas Cruz sent dozens of red flags — over a span of years — to the Broward County school system, Broward County law enforcement, Broward County Social Services, and the FBI, which indicated he was unstable, dangerous and wanted to become a school shooter.

It was the failures by the Broward County government that provided Cruz with a clean rap sheet, and thus an open door to procure guns.

The God-Emperor's 300

Via comment by Papa on Why Donald Why?

I'm half-amused and half-appalled by all the people declaring themselves off the Trump Train over the signing of the omnibus bill and the bump stock ban. What part of "two steps forward, one step back" do you not understand? What part of "lose the battle but win the war" escapes you? Are you Spartan or potter?

No one has claimed the God-Emperor is perfect. Indeed, as I have repeatedly pointed out, one of his best traits is his ability to admit his mistakes and learn from them. No one is claiming that these moves were intentional 12D underwater chess tactics, as he is clearly dealing with a frontal attack from the Democrat-Republicans in both the House and Senate as well as a number of hidden attacks to his flanks and rear from the Deep State.

Comment by Seneca III on post Deep State Rolls Trump On Budget, Immigration. Is ...

Thoughts from an interested observer and Ameriphile cousin across the pond:

1. President Trump now has the money he wants for the military and a significant sum for ‘wall materials’.

2. President Trump is the Commander in Chief of the US Military.

3.The US Army has a 37,000 man strong unit of Army Engineers which, given the funds for manpower and equipment, could expand rapidly.

Add 1, 2 and 3 and examine possibilities.
