Newt nailed to a T

SMARTEST MAN IN UNIVERSE? YEAH, RIGHT! SEE YA, NEWT!

SMARTEST MAN IN UNIVERSE? YEAH, RIGHT! SEE YA, NEWT!

It didn’t take “the smartest man in the universe” to show what a pandering RINO he really is! Newt Gingrich, the Great American RINO, made himself extinct yesterday when he attacked Paul Ryan’s plan to keep America solvent as “right-wing social engineering” and endorsed an individual mandate on healthcare. The individual mandate is a key part of ObamaCare! In how many languages can you say idjit? I can say it in English…..NEWT!

Liberals Dominate Commencement at Top 100 Universities

Surprise, surprise, surprise SGT. Carter!

2011 Commencement

After looking at the 2010 Commencement Speaker Survey, and in particular noting a whopping three conservatives that spoke out of the top 100 schools in our nation, I was excited when I heard names like Speaker John Boehner and Governor Rick Snyder announced for this year’s commencement speakers list. However, as I compiled more names onto this year’s list, I realized that while there is an increase in the number of conservative commencement speakers, the liberal bias of campus administrators shines through once again. Specifically, out of the 51 speakers who can be identified as either liberal or conservative, only 13 are conservative – meaning that there are three times as many identifiable liberal speakers.

Congressional investigators back in Arizona for "Gunwalker"

Congressional investigators are back on the ground in Phoenix this week for more interviews in the ATF "gunwalking" investigation. This time, sources tell CBS News, the investigators will be speaking with gun shop owners the ATF allegedly recruited to play a part in Operation Fast and Furious.

========
That's a start, since we sure wouldn't want Holder in charge since I believe both he and Obama are guilty as well.

Going forward with “walking” guns to “straw” buyers for the drug cartels is the definition of “reckless”.
Maybe the evidence gathered ought to be turned over to Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne and felony charges brought against the ATF bosses who knowingly allowed the guns to “walk”.

Allen West on Obama: “I can’t stand the guy”

Obama Is Creating a Politburo Right Under Our Nose

This is a history of Russian Politburo formation. Compare this to WHAT is happening today under Obama.

The Politburo, or Political Bureau, was the most important decision-making and leadership organ in the Communist Party, and has commonly been seen as equivalent to the cabinet in Western political systems. For most of the life of the Soviet system, the Politburo (called the Presidium between 1952 and 1966) was the major focus of elite political life and the arena within which all important issues of policy were decided. It was the heart of the political system.

The Politburo was formally established at the Eighth Congress of the Party in March 1919 and held its first session on April 16. Formed by the Central Committee (CC), the Politburo was to make decisions that could not await the next meeting of the CC, but over time its smaller size and more frequent meeting schedule meant that effective power drained into it and away from the CC. There had been smaller groupings of leaders before, but these had never become formalized nor had they taken an institutional form. The establishment of the Politburo was part of the regularization of the leading levels of the Party that saw the simultaneous creation of the Orgburo and Secretariat, with these latter two bodies meant to ensure the implementation of the decisions of leading Party organs, in practice mostly the Politburo.

"The Rebel"

http://lulusrollerrinkblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/carhops.jpg

For a time during the 1950s, the Rebel Drive-In was recruiting customers not just from the south side of town, but also from the north, east and west sides.

And the marvel of the restaurant wasn’t the burgers and fries; it was the carhops dressed in Confederate gray uniforms and speeding by on roller skates while carrying trays of soft drinks.

The drive-in at 34th Street and Avenue P was state of the art, and it cost its founder, Steve Etter, $100,000.

His son, Jerry, was working inside, of course, mixing the syrup and a special substance for either red or green cherry limes.

“My memories were that I wish I had been running around at the Rebel instead of working inside,” Etter said. “It was a busy place that employed a lot of people. We had one family, the Pattersons, that had four sisters who worked there at the same time.”

Hazel Rudder of Lubbock, who was one of the Patterson girls and only 15 at the time, loved the skating. She would have worked for free, almost.

“To me, we didn’t have to pay to go skating. We could skate free and make tips.”

General Lee's sword will lie down at Appomattox

"Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules."
--Thomas Jefferson

It’s an enduring myth of the Civil War: Robert E. Lee surrendered his sword to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox, and his Union counterpart refused the traditional gesture of surrender. “Lee never offered it, and Grant never asked for it,” said Patrick Schroeder, historian at Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park.

In a historical twist, though, Lee’s French-made ceremonial sword is returning to Appomattox 146 years later, leaving the Richmond museum where it has been displayed for nearly a century.

The Museum of the Confederacy in downtown Richmond is delivering one of its most-treasured pieces to Appomattox for a new museum that it’s building less than a mile from where Lee met with Grant to sign the document of surrender on April 9, 1865.

First Active Duty Buddhist Chaplain

Of all the branch insignia on uniforms at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, one stands out for a unique reason.

Chaplain (Capt.) Somya Malasri's dharma wheel is one of the most uncommon symbols in the military. He is the first - and currently, the only - active-duty Buddhist chaplain in the Army.
Now with the 593rd Sustainment Brigade at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Malasri is facing the challenges of being a good Soldier, a good Buddhist and a good leader to the Soldiers he came to help.

"It's good to be different ... We can all connect to each other," he said.

Originally from Thailand, Malasri entered a Theravada Buddhist temple near Phuket when he was 17 to study Buddhism and meditation. At 21, he became a fully ordained monk, and entered Mahachula Buddhist University to earn his bachelor's degree.

While he was there, he taught Buddhist philosophy and history to students, and did missionary work in China and India. He eventually became interested in a missionary program that sent monks further abroad.

He applied and was selected from among 200 candidates to go to the United States, serving at temples in Colorado, Utah and Las Vegas. This was where he encountered his first American Soldier.
While working at a temple near Salt Lake City, a Buddhist Soldier came to Malasri for a blessing before he deployed. Later, while he was working at a temple in Las Vegas, Malasri met another Soldier who told him there were no Buddhist services available on base. From there, the decision was made.

"OK, I want to be a chaplain," Malasri said of his thoughts at the time.

In 2005, Malasri applied to be a chaplain. Though he had to wait for an endorsement from the Buddhist Churches of America for his application to be accepted, he didn't wait to jump into Army life.

Instead he disrobed as a monk (in the Theravada tradition, one cannot be a monk and a Soldier at the same time) and enlisted to get an idea of what it was like to be a Soldier.

More details on precursors to the 2007 Syrian nuclear reactor hit

"[The President] is the dignified, but accountable magistrate of a free and great people. The tenure of his office, it is true, is not hereditary; nor is it for life: but still it is a tenure of the noblest kind: by being the man of the people, he is invested; by continuing to be the man of the people, his investiture will be voluntarily, and cheerfully, and honourably renewed."

Verbatim post.

Mark Twain once said, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't."

Whenever I read about some Mossad escapade, Twain's quote comes to mind. If you can imagine a Mossad agent telling a true story to a CIA counterpart, the CIA guy will undoubtedly sputter, "But, but... that's impossible!" And he'd be right.

Every step along the way in this unconfirmed Telegraph report is impossible, and straight out of a movie or 24, but somehow, the miracle-wielding Jews have done it again...

The operation involved at least 10 undercover agents on the streets of Britain and led directly to a controversial bombing raid into Syrian territory that destroyed a nuclear reactor that was under construction.

It closely mirrored the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a senior Hamas arms trader, who was killed in his hotel room in Dubai last year using agents disguised as tennis players.

The operation began when Israeli intelligence picked up an online booking for a senior Syrian nuclear official at a hotel in Kensington [how the heck do you do that? Monitor clandestinely every hotel in the world? -ed.], west London, in late 2006, according to the Israeli authors of the book Israel vs Iran: the Shadow War.

Mossad then dispatched three undercover teams to Britain including a team of "spotters" who were sent to Heathrow airport to identify the official as he flew in from Damascus under a false name. A second team booked into his hotel, while a third monitored his movements and any visitors.

The agents included members of the Kidon [Spear] division, Mossad's hit squad, and the Neviot [Springs] division, which specialises in breaking into houses, embassies and hotel rooms to install bugging devices.

The first day of the official's trip was apparently devoted to a series of meetings at the Syrian embassy in Belgrave Square but the following day he went shopping before his return to the airport.

The Kidon team followed him closely from shop to shop while the Neviot agents broke into his room and found his laptop. A computer expert took 15 minutes to download the hard drive and install trojan software that allowed Israel to monitor every keystroke he made [the movies make this look easy, but I'm sure the laptop had military-grade encryption, and for a guy to hack in in 15 minutes is another miracle. -ed.]

When the computer material was examined at Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv, officials found photographs and blueprints for a plutonium reactor at Al Kibar near Deir el-Zor, a remote desert town 80 miles from Syria's border with Iraq.

According to one source quoted in the book, the discovery saved the life of the official, who would otherwise have been killed in Britain, causing a major diplomatic incident.
"His computer and its contents turned out to be his life insurance. If it weren't for that, he wouldn't have left Europe alive," the security official boasted.

In August 2007 Israel apparently sent a special forces team into Syria to collect soil samples near the reactor, then at around 1am on September 5 2007 Israeli fighter bombers attacked the facility in a raid into Syrian airspace that destroyed the plant
