The Expansionist Right Also Goes After Walker

Rich, it’s not just HuffPo and MSNBC attacking Scott Walker for his tentative and wholly commonsensical observations that the well-being of American workers needs to be taken into account when crafting immigration policy. Heck, he didn’t even actually call for reductions in future immigration (though he did name-drop Jeff Sessions), but the expansionists on the right have piled on in response to the mere possibility of future cuts.

Morris: Obama Sneaking in ‘Unrestricted Immigration’ in TPA Trade Deal

Monday on Newmax TV’s “America’s Forum,” political commentator Dick Morris said the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPA) fast track being supported by many Republicans has a provision that allows for the “free flow of workers” between countries, essentially creating a backdoor to “unrestricted immigration.”

Morris said, “This is huge. I hope everybody listening takes action call your senator about it. If he is a Republican he is voting wrong. “I dont think that people understand that in this deal which is a trade agreement among Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Chile, there’s a provision for free flow of workers, just like in the European Union. What It means is unrestricted immigration. It means literally that  congress would not have the authority to restrict immigration because a treaty supersedes a statute under our constitution.”

Government Schools—the god that failed on purpose

In the past I have commented on how most people view public schools, how many have commented on their gross failure to educate and I have stated that the public schools have really not failed—at what they were instituted to do—the dumbing down of our kids. At this they have been a smashing success.

What they have failed to do, and this is on purpose, is to educate the children committed to their charge. They continue to turn out graduates who don’t even know what century the War of Northern Aggression was fought in or who Hitler was, or who was president before our current Commissar took the office.

Obama's Republican Collaborators

 http://buchanan.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Obamas-Republican-Collaborators-2.jpg

The GOP swept to victory in November by declaring that this imperial presidency must be brought to heel, and President Obama's illicit seizures of Congressional power must end.

That was then. Now is now.

This week, Congress takes up legislation to cede His Majesty full authority to negotiate the largest trade deal in history, the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership, and to surrender Congress' right to amend any TPP that Obama might bring home.

Why the capitulation? Why would Republicans line up to kiss the royal ring? Is Middle America clamoring for "fast track"? Are blue-collar workers marching in the streets to have Congress grant "Trade Promotion Authority Now!" to Barack Obama?

No. Pressure for fast track is coming from two sources.

Movie/TV Memorabilia:Costumes, A Vivien Leigh Period Dress from "Gone With The Wind."...Movie/TV Memorabilia:Costumes, A Vivien Leigh Period Dress from "Gone With The Wind."...

The iconic outfit worn by Vivian Leigh in her Academy Award-winning role as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind sold for $137,000 April 18, 2015 at an Entertainment & Music Memorabilia Auction held by Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. The dress took top lot honors in an $890,000 auction of highlights of the James Tumblin Collection of Gone With the Wind costumes, props, and behind-the-scene rarities collected over the past 40 years. The winning bidder of the outfit, which is comprised of a jacket and a matching full skirt with a black zig-zag appliqué, wished to remain anonymous.

"The costumes from Gone With the Wind are much more than icons of Hollywood history - they are icons of American history," said Kathleen Guzman, managing director at Heritage Auctions, who auctioned the dress. "We are confident this collection is going to a wonderful home."

Tumblin, formerly in charge of the hair and makeup department at Universal Studios, began collecting rarities associated with the Academy Award-winning film Gone with the Wind in the early 1960s. He purchased the iconic outfit for just $20 from the Western Costume Company as it was being prepared for the trash bin.

A Large Straw Hat worn by Leigh at the moment her character Scarlett first laid eyes on the notorious Rhett Butler, as played by actor Clark Gable, ended at $52,500 following interest from 12 bidders. The cotton, mauve, purple, and white floral pattern blouse, Leigh wore as she defiantly declared "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again!" hammered for $32,500. And a Black Silk Bonnet worn by both Olivia De Havilland and Vivien Leigh in the film sold for $30,000, 10 times its pre-auction estimate.

Memorable costumes offered in the auction include Clark Gable's Period Gray Suit worn as Rhett Butler in the scene where he kicks down Scarlett's door, which sold for $55,000; a Confederate Soldier Uniform, worn by the actor Leslie Howard as Ashley Wilkes in the moving scene where he finds his way back to Tara Plantation, sold for $16,250; and a teal blue velvet riding habit worn by child actress Cammie King as Bonnie Blue Butler sold for $15,000 to a floor bidder.

Props from the film offered in the auction include the brass doorknob to the front door of Tara, the fictional plantation in the film, which sold for $8,125, and a Kerosene Lamp from Gone With the Wind - obtained by the owner of a bar across the street from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios as payment for an $8,000 tab racked up by a Prop Master - sold for $11,875.

The auction also included a large selection of memorabilia cherished by the film's stars: Hattie McDaniel's presentation script, signed by famed producer David O. Selznick sold for $28,750, against a $20,000 estimate. The movie secured McDaniel's place in Hollywood history as the first African American to win an Academy Award for her role as "Mammy" in the film.

Screenwriter Sidney Howard's Portable Noiseless Remington Typewriter used to generate the screenplay to "Gone With The Wind" for which he won an Academy Award for 'Best Writing, Screenplay' sold for $23,750, to lead a selection of behind-the-scene rarities. A Costume Design Sketch of Vivien Leigh signed by Walter Plunkett sold for $18,750 and Plunkett's Presentation Script, signed by Producer David O. Selznick, sold for $22,500.

Additional highlights include, but are not limited by:

A Period Bonnet worn by Vivian Leigh in the film: Realized: $25,000.

A One-Sheet Poster from depicting the Atlanta Bazaar Scene, considered the rarest of the Gone With the Wind one-sheets: Realized: $20,000.

A Period Sweater worn by Olivia De Havilland: Realized: $18,750.

A Confederate Soldier uniform worn by actor Leslie Howard: Realized: $16,250.

OK: Judge rules Gun Ban on Streets and Sidewalks is Unconstitutional

Via avordvet

In Oklahoma, Judge Thad Balkman ruled in favor of second amendment supporters when he issued a tempory restraining order to prevent the City of Norman from enforcing a ban on the carry of weapons during the Norman Music Festival.   The city argued that it was not banning weapons; only that the private organization that it had given control of city streets and sidewalks was banning arms.   From newsok.com:
Bateman and Assistant City Attorney Rick Knighton argued that the festival operators essentially lease a three- or four-block area from the city for the special event. By doing so, they become equal to business owners who have a right to ban firearms on their property.

High court limits drug-sniffing dog searches during traffic stops

 Drug sniffing dog

The Supreme Court told the police Tuesday they may not turn routine traffic stops into drug searches using trained dogs.

The 6-3 decision limits the increasingly common practice whereby officers stop a car for a traffic violation and then call for a drug-sniffing dog to inspect the vehicle.

The justices, both liberal and conservative, agreed that it was an unconstitutional "search and seizure" to hold a motorist in such cases.

Battlefield America: The War on the American People

“A government which will turn its tanks upon its people, for any reason, is a government with a taste of blood and a thirst for power and must either be smartly rebuked, or blindly obeyed in deadly fear.”—John Salter

We have entered into a particularly dismal chapter in the American narrative, one that shifts us from a swashbuckling tale of adventure into a bone-chilling horror story.

As I document in my new book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, “we the people” have now come full circle, from being held captive by the British police state to being held captive by the American police state. In between, we have charted a course from revolutionaries fighting for our independence and a free people establishing a new nation to pioneers and explorers, braving the wilderness and expanding into new territories.

National Health Care Provider Solutions

By nature of their profession, doctors and nurses have unpredictable schedules. It's tough to squeeze in a certification or recertification class between patients, research, and charming their stethoscope with a pungi's hypnotic tones. National Health Care Provider Solutions has found a workaround, however, in the form of online courses that are all designed by board-certified physicians to abide by AHA standards.

Each course is accessible any time, from any device with Internet access. Video tutorials and study guides familiarize students with their chosen subject, whether it's basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, or CPR, AED, and First Aid. After passing the exam at the end of the course, students receive a digital certificate and an internationally accepted certification card in the mail.

Former Obama pilot: TWA Flight 800 was not blown up by a faulty fuel tank; it was shot down.

Via Adam

Image result for Former Obama pilot: TWA Flight 800 was not blown up by a faulty fuel tank; it was shot down. I’ll always believe that, and here’s why

Was TWA Flight 800 shot out of the sky?

As a former pilot, that is a question I get asked about all the time.

I’m no conspiracy theorist, but let’s be clear: Yes. I say it was. And I believe the FBI covered it up.

There are many reasons to disbelieve the official explanation of what happened to TWA 800 almost 19 years ago, on July 17, 1996, off the South Shore of Long Island. There’s hardly an airline pilot among the hundreds I know who buys the official explanation — that it was a fuel-tank explosion — offered by the National Transportation Safety Board some four years later.

Lots can go wrong with an airplane. Engines can fail; they can catch fire. Devices can malfunction. Pilots make errors.

But jets do not explode in midair.
