Yale Students Tell English Profs: Too Many White Male Poets: Ill-prepared to take race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity courses

Some Yale University students are demanding changes to the English Department curriculum: specifically, they don't think it should feature so many English poets who were straight, white, wealthy, and male.

"It is your responsibility as educators to listen to student voices," the students wrote in a petition to the faculty. "We have spoken. We are speaking. Pay attention."

The "Major English Poets" sequence, a mandatory two-course commitment for English majors, is particularly problematic, according to the students. These classes cover Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser, William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton, Alexander Pope, William Wordsworth, and T.S. Eliot. It's not the most diverse line up, to be sure, but it's the one that best reflects history the way it actually happened. Inarguably, these are the most influential poets in the English language.

But students think this sequence "creates a culture that is hostile to students of color." They write:

Delivered April 16, 2016 as The 2016 Murray N. Rothbard Memorial Lecture at the Mises Institute, Auburn, AL.

As the person who has been asked to deliver this year’s Murray N. Rothbard address, it seems appropriate to relate my remarks to the person being honored. Although the observations that follow may not have come directly from Murray, he and my speech do have some connection. My pleasurable, often edifying conversations with this remarkable polymath, the letters we exchanged, his book America’s Great Depression and, not least of all, his study of American intervention in the First World War strengthened for me beliefs that I continue to hold.

I never truly grasped where we were heading as a country until my encounters with Murray. Nor did I fully assess the worthlessness of the American conservative movement up until that point. Those realizations took place despite the fact that Murray and I did not always agree on all issues. We often debated political theoretical questions, as a mental exercise, without expecting to come to full agreement. But we did hold the same views about the present age, while I deferred to Murray on all economic matters, because unlike me, he was the proven expert. Most importantly, I finally accepted his arguments about the damage inflicted on our freedoms by America’s run-away administrative state.

IRS finally reveals list of tea party groups targeted for extra scrutiny

Congressional Republicans say IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who was brought in by President Obama to clean up the agency after the targeting scandal, has failed — and even misled Congress during the investigation. Some Republicans are even pursuing impeachment against Mr. Koskinen, accusing him of defying a subpoena for former senior IRS executive Lois G. Lerner’s emails by allowing computer backup tapes to be destroyed.

Even outside of impeachment, the House GOP has proposed a new round of budget cuts for the IRS, aimed at trying to deliver a message that Mr. Koskinen’s tenure has been unacceptable.

And the tax agency is still defending itself in a series of court cases. In addition to the NorCal class action case, the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., is currently considering an appeal by tea party groups who argue the targeting is still going on.

“One thing remains clear: Continued litigation is the only way to force the IRS‘ hand in order to expose its targeting scheme that was coordinated with the help of the DOJ and other federal agencies so that we can obtain justice for those patriotic Americans who were unconstitutionally targeted by their own government,” said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel at the American Center for Law and Justice, which is representing some of the plaintiffs in the appeals case.

Hillary Refuses To Say Whether The Right To Bear Arms Is A Constitutional Right

Stephanopoulos asked, “Let’s talk about the Second Amendment. As you know, Donald Trump has also been out on the stump, talking about the Second Amendment, saying you want to abolish the Second Amendment. I know you reject that, but I want to ask you a specific question: Do you believe that an individual’s right to bear arms is a constitutional right — that it’s not linked to service in a militia?”

House Passes Bill Urging Law Enforcement to have No Contact with Terror-Tied CAIR

Hamas-tied CAIR has played a huge role in intimidating the media and the public into thinking it wrong to oppose jihad terror. This article is typical of the Islamic propaganda and whitewash that is churned out daily by the media apologists.

Did the writer of this article Kevin Litten look into CAIR at all or did he file this story from the bar-stool of some seedy hotel while reading CAIR’s media guidelines on how to report on jihad?

One can only imagine the puff pieces Litten would have penned for the American Bund back in the 30s. I hope Litten is not fool enough to be pimp without pay. These Muslim Brotherhood groups pay their media lapdogs quite well.

Here is what writer Kevin Litten neglected to mention:

National Backlash: San Jose police chief defends officers accused of failing to protect Trump supporters from violence

Protestors jump on a passing car outside San Jose Convention Center as Presidential candidate Donald Trump holds a rally in San Jose, Calif., Thursday, June 2, 2016.

A day after a melee erupted outside a Donald Trump rally, the San Jose police chief and mayor on Friday defended themselves from a national backlash over their handling of the dramatic and at times violent protest.

On radio talk shows and across social media, some called for Mayor Sam Liccardo's resignation because of his comments suggesting that Trump was to blame for igniting violence, while police were criticized for failing to protect Trump supporters from angry protesters throwing punches, water bottles and traffic cones. Some videos showed those attacks and suggested they were unprovoked, but others showed Trump supporters taunting protesters, ripping their Dump Trump signs and throwing the first punches.

Trump University Sued by LA RAZA (Judge) & FELON (Lawyer)?

Trump University is getting sued. But who’s suing Trump? A pack of racists and convicted felons – who are friends of Hillary Clinton! Plus, the Judge belongs to racist group LA RAZA! If that’s not shocking, try this: The law firm suing Trump was founded by a convicted FELON who spent 2 years in federal prison!
