A Mesa woman was arrested Saturday after she allegedly chased her husband around a Gilbert parking lot in an SUV during an argument over the presidential election.

The woman finally ran over her husband, leaving him with critical injuries.

According to a Gilbert police report, the argument started over her husband's lack of voter participation in the recent election.

Holly Solomon, 28, apparently believed her family was going to face hardship as a result of President Barack Obama's re-election.

Solomon's husband, Daniel Solomon, told police his wife "just hated Obama" and was very angry he was re-elected and blamed the President for problems her family is going through.

Witnesses reported a lot of yelling just before Holly got into a Jeep SUV and began chasing her husband through the parking lot near Gilbert and Elliot roads.

"He got out of the car and she was screaming at him. And he started walking away and she started driving in circles around him and she wouldn't let him go so finally he took off to try to get away and she ran into him," a called told a 911 dispatcher.

Daniel reportedly took refuge behind a light pole while Holly drove around the pole several times while continuing to yell at him.

Police said Daniel tried to run away toward Gilbert Road as Holly pursued him in the vehicle.
She eventually struck her husband and he was pinned underneath, between the vehicle and a curb.

To die for one’s country is not only an act of bravery, it is THE act of bravery. For soldiers, it is just an extension of their military career, a part of their duty. As leaders have asked their soldiers to sacrifice themselves for the good of the society, it is only right for leaders to go through the same motion. They should practice what they have preached.

As war is seen as a noble act, tu sat serves as redemption in case of defeat. It is also a way to tell the enemy: “You might have won the battle/war but you don’t deserve to win because you don’t have the chinh nghia (just cause).” And it is not only just cause: it is the moral belief that the cause they are fighting for deserves their total sacrifice.

Although tu sat or tuan tiet means war suicide, there is no good corresponding word in English because the act itself is not practiced in the Christian West. Secondly, the word suicide does not convey the moral and courageous implication of the act. It is a closer equivalent of hara kiri or seppuku (1). Although hara kiri is practically a disembowelment, its practice varies from person to person. If the blade is thrust deeply enough, it could cause an immediate death through arterial bleeding. If inserted superficially, the still-alive victim would be beheaded by the assistant. While tu sat and hara kiri are technically different, the end-result is the same: the death of the person through his own hand or the hands of an assistant.

Vietnam is one of the rare few countries in the world where leaders killed themselves when they lost a war. We will review these cases of tu sat during the pre- and anti-colonial wars and the anti-communist war.

Lawmaker asks to be paid in gold

 

A Montana state lawmaker is asking that he be paid in gold coins because of his lack of faith in the US dollar amid a rising deficit.

 

Jerry O'Neil , a Republican just reelected in HIS Northern Montana District, says HIS constituents Told HIM He was not honoring HIS Duty to uphold the Constitution us, Which O'Neil and Gold Standard Supporters Say Requires the Government to Print money backed by Gold.

 "I believe that if you take a look at the Constitution, that's what it says," he told POLITICO. "I think we've gotten a tremendously long way from it."
 
So he wrote a letter to the state Legislature asking to be paid his public salary in gold and stating: "It is very likely the bottom will fall out from under the US dollar. Only so many dollars can be printed before they have no value. "

Every day since the election, it seems as though there is a new story about the effects of Obama’s policies on Americans. Today, yet another new story came out detailing the destructive consequences of Obamacare and Obama’s socialist policies.

First, it was Applebee’s and Papa John’s, then it was small business layoffs, now it’s food stamps and Walmart employee healthcare costs. According to cnbc.com:

“Wal-Mart Stores’ U.S. employees will pay between 8 percent and 36 percent more in premiums for its medical coverage in 2013, prompting some of the 1.4 million workers at the nation’s largest private employer to say they will forego coverage altogether.”

 In addition to this, part-time employees will have to work 30 hours a week instead of the previous 24 hours in order to qualify for coverage. Walmart is taking these measures–as well as others–in order to adjust for the costs of Obamacare.

According to cnbc.com,

“Colby Harris, a 22-year-old…was set to see his cost per paycheck rise to $29.60 from $25.40. He says he has decided not to sign up for coverage. Given his low income, as Harris foregoes coverage any major medical bills could potentially fall to taxpayers through the government’s Medicaid program.”

 What is happening here is exactly what I expected would happen. Obamacare has already begun to drive up the costs of healthcare. The money for healthcare has to come from somewhere. Whether it is being funded through our taxes or through fees on businesses, the cost is still passed on to the consumer.

In the end, what does that accomplish? Proponents of socialized healthcare argue that it is for the good of everyone; that this way, everyone can have “quality coverage.” What we see in reality is higher taxes, fees on businesses, and in the end, bankruptcy and diminished quality of care. This is obvious to anyone who has researched Canadian or European style healthcare, but flies over the heads of many Americans.

There are many ways by which the cost of healthcare can be reduced: cross-state insurance sales, Tort reform, means testing, etc. So what is the true interest in socialized healthcare? It’s a power grab. It is a way for the government to have more control. The Left believes that the government is the solution, when in reality, it damages and ultimately kills everything it gets its hands on. Obviously, government is necessary, but it must be reigned in.

We may have crossed a threshold with this election. If Obamacare grows roots, it will challenge and ultimately drain the life from our economy. We chose the wrong path, and it’s going to take a while to find our way back. But it’s never to late. The next two to four years may seem like an eternity to wait, but Conservatives must persist, and never lose enthusiasm

Known as the "Chilton Flag", "In Memory of George W. Chilton, 1828-1884, Major, Third Texas cavalry CSA an his son Horace Chilton 1853-1932 US Senator", the flag had been on loan and at times displayed at the Goodman House Museum in Tyler, Tx. A brass plaque affixed to the frame bears the following engraved inscription, "The Chilton Flag / Loaned To The Goodman Museum / By The Heirs Of Ella Chilton Boren", with the flag being consigned to Heritage by a direct lineal descendant of Ella Chilton Boren, who was Major Chilton's Granddaughter. The flag was originally loaned to the museum in 1965, where it remained until now.

The flag is constructed entirely of silk, with a note included with the museum documentation from Major Chilton stating he believed it was fabricated from silk cress goods by the ladies of Tyler, Tx. Further stating the frailty of the flag negated it's lengthy use in the field resulting in its return (although the Battle of Farmington was on Oct 7, 1863 so the flag did in fact see field use for over two years. The sight measurement of the flag is 31" X 71 1/2" although obviously slightly larger based on the material hidden by the frame. The flag was mounted in the 2 1/4" antique gold frame by the museum for display in, we believe 1977. The flag is entirely hand sewn with the stripes each being 10 1/2" wide, with the red and white stripes that abut the canton each 50" long. The 22" square white canton displays eleven five pointed stars applied with blue paint. The stars in the exterior circle are 3" point to point with the large center star being 4 1/2".

The flag exhibits obvious but minor damage, with most of it logically being from use in the field. There are a number of small scattered cracks with no loss, and several small holes, the largest (a bullet) being 1 1/2" X 2". There is deterioration at the side and top of the canton, although there is very minor, really negligible actual loss. Obviously, no later than the date the flag was framed a 1" wide piece of white silk was placed along the top of the canton, although based on the stitching visible along the top of the canton its purpose was obviously more for stabilization than to replace loss. The blue painted stars all show some degree of deterioration, with one star retaining only traces of the blue paint while the others are at least 80% intact. The flag was obviously professionally mounted by a skilled archivist and shows no signs of deterioration beyond what existed when it was framed, and appears to be quite sound in its current configuration.

The Third Texas Cavalry was organized on June 13, 1863 and served until May 4, 1865. Attached to what is actually the lower left corner of the flag is a period 3 1/2" X 4 1/2" ink script label which states, "This flag was made by the ladies of Tyler, Texas and presented in 1861 to the first company which left Smith County for war - Company K Third Texas Cavalry, Ross's Brigade. The flag was sent home after having been carried in the battles of Oak Hill, (Mo)., Elkhorn Tavern (Ark.) and Farmington, (Tenn.)". "Oak Hills" is actually in Tennessee.

The flag is accompanied by extensive documentation from the Goodman Museum, the City of Tyler, Tx., and direct lineal descendants of the Chilton/Boren family.

A White House petition gathering force calls for citizenship to be stripped and exile for anyone who signs a petition in favor of a state's secession.

"Mr. President, please sign an executive order such that each American citizen who signed a petition from any state to secede from the USA shall have their citizenship stripped and be peacefully deported," the full petition reads.

The title of the petition is, "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Strip the Citizenship from Everyone who Signed a Petition to Secede and Exile Them."
As of this writing, 2,205 have signed the petition; 22,795 more signatures are needed for the issue to be addressed by the White House.

Hostess to close striking bakeries in Seattle, St. Louis, Cincinnati

Good ridance to bad rubbish.  Sara Lee is hiring in Tarboro which they haven't done for years.  The unions just slit their throats.

 

 As of Monday, bakers union members had set up picket lines at about 23 of the 36 bakeries and production plants operated by bankrupt Hostess. 

On the first business day after bakers went on strike against Hostess Brands, the Irving-based company said Monday it will permanently close three striking bakeries, putting 627 employees out of work.

Late Friday, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union went on strike against Irving-based Hostess to protest cuts and give-backs in the company’s last, best, final contract offer. The contract, which was rejected by 92 percent of the union members who voted, called, in part, for 8 percent pay cuts, a company hiatus from contributions to a multi-employer pension plan and changes in work rules.

As of Monday, bakers had set up picket lines at about 23 of the 36 bakeries and production plants operated by the bankrupt snack maker. Hostess said the strike “has prevented the facilities from producing and delivering products.”

“Our customers will not be affected because we will continue to serve them from other Hostess Brands bakeries, but sadly this action will result in the permanent closure of three facilities and the loss of 627 jobs,” said Gregory Rayburn, Hostess Brands’ chief executive.

“We deeply regret this decision, but we have repeatedly explained that we will close facilities that are no longer able to produce and deliver products because of a work stoppage — and that we will close the entire company if widespread strikes cripple our business.”

In the wake of Barack Obama’s reelection win and ahead of a possible 2016 White House bid of his own, the Kentucky Republican plans to mix his hard-line tea party conservatism with more moderate policies that could woo younger voters and minorities largely absent from the GOP coalition. It’s the latest tactic of the freshman senator to inject the Libertarian-minded views shared by his retiring father into mainstream Republican thinking as the party grapples with its future.

In an interview with POLITICO, Paul said he’ll return to Congress this week pushing measures long avoided by his party. He wants to work with liberal Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy and Republicans to eliminate mandatory minimum sentences for pot possession. *He wants to carve a compromise immigration plan with an “eventual path” to citizenship for illegal immigrants, a proposal he believes could be palatable to conservatives. And he believes his ideas — along with pushing for less U.S. military intervention in conflicts overseas — could help the GOP broaden its tent and appeal to crucial voting blocs that handed Democrats big wins in the West Coast, the Northeast and along the Great Lakes.

Here’s How a New Jersey Man Used the Gas in His Prius to Power His House for a Week

Bob Sakala’s power might have only come back on last Thursday, but the New Jersey man wasn’t in the dark like many of his neighbors impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
How’d he do it? Sakala jerry-rigged his hybrid car to provide power to his house.
NBC New York reported that Sakala had previously read on the Internet about how to convert his Toyota Prius into a power source. Here’s how he did it:

Using a 100-watt power inverter that plugged into the car’s cigarette lighter, and several heavy-duty extension cords he purchased at Home Depot, Sakala was able to power a few lights along with his TV, laptop and modem. He later upgraded to a 300-watt inverter, which let him power more lights.
“The neighbors kept saying, ‘Does Bob have a generator?’ No, it’s the Prius. It’s a spaceship,” he told NBC 4 New York.

Using three quarters of a tank of gas left in his hybrid, Sakala was able to have electricity for light, television and computers — although not heat — in his home.

Oldest Form of Home Schooling Goes to Publix

For the first time in 20 years, T spoke today to four classes (K-3) of a public school here in illannoy.  The subject was originally set as "The First Thanksgiving", but the children preferred to hear about "Indians" in general.  Dressed in his full regalia, it was such fun to see the faces of the children when he entered their classrooms.....they were in awe, and he held their attention without a problem.

He spoke about his name, his people, and the American Indian in general.  The subject matter ranged from American Indian contributions in foods, lodgings, craftsmanship, and even brief instructions of how to prep and tan hides.  Though quite stifled by the school's requirement of remaining "politically correct", he gave the children many words of knowledge, encouraged them to always practice respect for everyone in their lives, and to gain as much education as was possible for them.

 

Looking back on our morning, there were only two sensitive inquiries from the children, the first being from a most tiny second grade boy who was nearly in tears, and asked "do you kill people?".   The other question came from a first grade boy who was curious about a lock of hair that T wears on his war shirt, and why it was there.   Thinking rapidly on his feet, T explained to the teacher and then to the child that it was a "personal and private item", and that he would prefer not to speak of it.   Truth of the matter is, the lock of hair is actually a small scalp-lock that T took from a young man in my hometown in 1994, to defend my honor, following the young man's continued disrespect of me (though T had warned him multiple times to stop).

 

All in all it was a great morning, despite the stress of going directly from one classroom to the next without even a chance to catch one's breath.

 

I believe that my husband still remains a very good teacher, speaker and diplomat of sorts. Reaching our children through words and wisdom is the best gift one can give, as the children remain our hope and our future.

For much of the non-shooting public, Walther is synonymous with James Bond.  Even with the release of a new James Bond movie this month, the new gun from Walther couldn’t have less to do with British spies.

The PPX is a full-size pistol on a medium-to-large polymer frame.  Stylistically similar to the recently introduced PPQ, the PPX is not striker fired.  Rather, it is hammer fired with something Walther reps called a “constant action” system.  It looks like a double-action gun, but the sales folks insisted it was not.
The new pistol is chambered in 9mm and .40 S&W, with the magazines carrying 16 and 14 rounds respectively.  The PPX uses a conventional push button magazine release, rather than the lever used on some of the company’s more popular modern guns.

The PPX will be available in all black or in a duo-tone with a stainless slide.  Both models can be had with an extended, threaded barrels for the addition of a suppressor.  MSRP is $499 for the black, $549 for the two tone.

Florida electrical worker attacked while in New York helping restore power for Sandy victims

A Florida electrical worker who came to New York to help after Hurricane Sandy was beaten to a pulp in the neighborhood where he was trying to restore power.

John Applewhite, a 34-year-old lineman for Lakeland Electric, was attacked as he got out of his utility truck outside a restaurant in East Hempstead, N.Y. on Friday, police said.

Applewhite had just finished working a 13-hour shift and was getting dinner with coworkers when another man got out of a black BMW and approached him, he said.

“He met me halfway between my truck and his vehicle and just as I got within arm’s reach, he decked me,” Applewhite told WTSP in Tampa.

Applewhite was flown back to Florida Saturday with a black eye, broken jaw and several fractures. He’s confined to a hospital bed and awaiting surgery.

“They’re going to put a plate in my face and wire my jaw,” he said from Lakeland Regional Medical Center. “At least three surgeons will do work on me.”

Applewhite, who was in New York with 24 coworkers, says he has no idea why he was targeted, and that his attacker fled the scene.

“I didn’t know what his intentions were,” Applewhite told WFTV. “I didn’t know if I was going to be robbed or if he was just upset. He was in a nice car, so I kind of let my guard down. It’s unfortunate, it really is.”

Capitalize on the current interest in the restoration of State sovereignty and independence!!! We have NEVER had a situation like this before where so many doors are open to us and ears that are ready to listen. The League of the South is prepared better than anyone else to assist you. I have been the media contact for many "Pro-Life" groups, Lions Club information on Sight and Hearing Impaired issues and local services, and issues in healthcare with a focus on the Care and Health for the Aging and the Elderly. Here is short introduction to what we can and should be doing.

1.  Call your local talk TV and radio stations . . . Start a media contact file for future use and get them talking about aspects independence, freedom, liberty and secession. Use and give them "Talking Points", maybe even a list of questions you are prepared to answer. The media does not know HOW to discuss these topics. Their manners are poor and their memories are short . . . they need to be reminded about everything. Alert your friends to do the same. Think LOCAL and stay focused! News Sources want a local CONTACT to interview. Maintain a record of all media contacts, names, addresses, form of communication desired. Stations are required to provide their listeners with so many minutes of free Public Service Announcements. Those can be yours! Be very careful about who they interview as they are prepared to do you more harm than good. Stay focused and control your agenda. Give them a name and phone number for that local contact IN WRITING. A League of the South (LS) member may be close to your area . . . find out. They are very knowledgeable and resourceFUL. You have to "spoon feed" the media. You know what they do not know. Do not attempt to speak for or attack other organizations. . . . they will spin your words in a way you might not appreciate (they almost always do) . . . stay focused and control your agenda! P.S. When the stations like you they will redo parts of your interview and tell you how you best will come across on the camera! This has been a hugh help for me.

2.  Write letters to the editor of your local newspapers and send them information articles and don't forget the smaller, often free, local newspapers that are starved for local news and local writers. Offer printable photos of your contact person. Have your local/closest most skilled person write "news releases" daily or regularly for all of these sources in the form they desire. Think LOCAL! News media want a local CONTACT to interview. Establish a local contact and have them all the media giving them their name and phone number for that local. A League of the South (LS) member may be close to your area . . . find out. They are very knowledgeable and resourceFUL. You have to "spoon feed" the media. You know what they do not know. Do not overfeed your media contact person, and absolutely do not attempt to speak for or attack other organizations. . . . they will spin your words in a way you might not appreciate . . . stay focused and control your agenda!

3.  Call your elected representatives for your city, county, State, federal and 1) ask to meet with them on this topic, 2) send them your news releases, 3) send their contact information to all of your friends, 4) ask your friends to do the same and make them think that everyone from your town all the way to Mars is supportive and talking about independence! 5) contact the closest League of the South State and local chapters who can tell you what to do next and offer to speak to local groups for you. Local libraries often offered free and safe settings for this kind of meeting. Do not overfeed your elected representative, and absolutely do not attempt to speak for or attack other organizations. . . . they will spin your words in a way you might not appreciate . . . stay focused and control your agenda! Don't blabber, they consider their time very important, and it is as is yours.

Alabama secessionist says working people must unite to save America

“Derrick B.,” the man who started a petition seeking Alabama’s withdrawal from the U.S., is a truck driving, knife collecting former owner of a topless car wash who describes himself as “an absolute Libertarian.”

Derrick Belcher, 45, of Chunchula, said in an interview late Monday that secession may be the only way to save working Americans from crushing debt, burdensome federal regulations and rising taxes.

“I don’t want to live in Russia. I don’t believe in socialism,” said Belcher, an operations manager for a Mobile trucking company. “America is supposed to be free.”

Belcher said he posted his petition Friday on the White House web site after hearing about a similar petition filed by a Louisiana resident. More than 30 states have since followed, and Belcher’s petition has gained more than 18,000 signatures –- well on its way toward reaching the 25,000 threshold for receiving an official response from the White House.

A petition for Texas reached that milestone on Monday and had more than 62,000 signatures as of this morning.

When Alabama meets the requirement, Belcher said, he’ll deliver a copy of the petition to Gov. Robert Bentley, seeking formal action by the state.

Belcher said he believes secession can work if states band together to support each other.
“I don’t think any one state can stand alone. But if we’ve got 20 of them, then that starts to be something ,” Belcher said. “If you look at a map of the red states, we have all of the oil and we produce all of the food. We’re the ones that are carrying the rest of the nation.”

Belcher said he is a Libertarian and that he supported Ron Paul as a candidate for president. He said President Barack Obama won re-election last week because of voters who are dependent on the federal government.

General investigated for emails to Petraeus friend

 The career of Gen. John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, is now in jeopardy due to the investigation of the David Petraeus sex scandal.

The Pentagon said Tuesday that Allen is under investigation for alleged "inappropriate communications" with Jill Kelley, the woman who is said to have received threatening emails from Petraeus' paramour.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in a written statement issued to reporters aboard his aircraft, en route from Honolulu to Perth, Australia, that the FBI referred the matter to the Pentagon on Sunday.

Panetta said he ordered a Pentagon investigation of Allen on Monday.

A senior defense official traveling with Panetta said Allen's communications were with Kelley, who has been described as an unpaid social liaison at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., which is headquarters to the U.S. Central Command. She is not a U.S. government employee.

Barack Obama received more than 99% of the vote in more than 100 precincts in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on election day.  In fact, there were a substantial number of precincts where Mitt Romney got exactly zero votes.  So how in the world did this happen?  Third world dictators don’t even get 99% of the vote.  Overall, Mitt Romney received 30.12%of the vote in Cuyahoga County.  There were even a bunch of precincts in Cuyahoga County that Romney actually won.  But everyone certainly expected that Cuyahoga County would be Obama territory.  And in most of the precincts that is exactly what we saw - large numbers of votes for both candidates but a definite edge for Obama.  

However, there are more than 100 precincts in Cuyahoga County where the voting results can only be described as truly bizarre.  Yes, we always knew that urban areas would lean very heavily toward Obama, but are we actually expected to believe that Obama got over 99% of the votes in those areas?  In more than 50 different precincts, Romney received 2 votes or less.  Considering how important the swing state of Ohio was to the national election, one would think that such improbable results would get the attention of somebody out there.  Could we be looking at evidence of election fraud hidden in plain sight? 

Perhaps if there were just one or two precincts where Obama got more than 99% of the vote we could dismiss the results as “statistical anomalies” and ignore them.

But there were more than 100 precincts where this happened in the most important swing state in the nation.

Maybe there is some rational explanation for the numbers that you are about to see.  If there is, I would really love to hear it.
