Paul Gissing, R.I.P.

My second Daughter Virginia's husband.

Our beloved Paul Gissing, 62, of Fallbrook, California, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. Paul lived a rich and purposeful life.

Paul was born on January 27, 1957, to Graham and Jean Gissing in Manchester, England. After graduation, he worked as a carpenter, a skill he would take along his life's journey with great success.
Paul traveled to the United States in the '80s and loved it so much that he decided to make a life here.

Paul met his beloved wife, Virginia, while working in the car industry and they were married on April 10, 1999 in Raratonga, Cook Islands. Paul and Virginia started a thriving real estate investment company in San Clemente and together they relocated to Fallbrook to expand their company vision.

Unfortunately, reminds me of another sad occasion.

Five Girls

Since I had all girls, I named them Emily Michael  (after my mother who died when I was 13 months old, and my best friend who was killed at 19. [Every time I'm in the area, I stop at Michael's grave and leave a beer, and fairly often I reflect back to the sad ride I had with his girlfriend, *Jaque, after the wreck. I remember I was working in Daddy's office  when mother came in and told me the news. I stood up, looked out the front screen door, and didn't understand why cars were still driving pass.

Not only no but HELL NO: Whistleblower attorneys ask Congress to allow his testimony to be submitted in WRITING

They thought they could somehow blame Russia for Hillary being a horrible candidate too. We’re not dealing with the brightest crayons in the box here.

Huh.
Now, why oh why do you think the leaker’s … err, sorry … whistleblower’s attorneys would want him to be able to submit his testimony in writing? Surely someone who is coming forward to protect the country from the evil orange man would want to do that in person and out in the open so Americans can see their great rescuer, right?
No?

Five Things You Should Know About the Kurds

Via David

Kurds take part in a demonstration in Arbil, the capital of the northern Iraqi Kurdish autonomous region, on October 10, 2019 against the Turkish offensive in northeastern Syria. - Syria's Kurds battled to hold off a Turkish invasion on October 9 after air strikes and shelling launched a long-threatened operation …

Turkey’s invasion of northeastern Syria to drive the Kurds away from the Turkish border is bringing more Western attention to the Kurds than they received during the long and bloody Syrian civil war, where they played a key role in defeating the Islamic State.

Here are some important things to know about the Kurds.

There is no unified Kurdish state: The Kurds are an ethnic group spread across Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and Armenia. They are one of the largest ethnicities in the Middle East, but they do not have a common political system, religion, or even a universal language.

Turkey Bombs US Special Forces in Syria ‘By Mistake’

Via Billy

Instead of returning fire, the Special Forces withdrew once the shelling had ceased. Newsweek previously reported Wednesday that the current rules of engagement for U.S. forces continue to be centered around self-defense and that no order has been issued by the Pentagon for a complete withdrawal from Syria.

“In self-defense, reciprocal fire was opened on the terrorist positions of the attack. Turkey did not open fire at the U.S. observation post in any way,” the statement added. “All precautions were taken prior to opening fire in order to prevent any harm to the U.S. base. As a precaution, we ceased fire upon receiving information from the U.S. We firmly reject the claim that U.S. or Coalition forces were fired upon.”

A Pentagon official cast doubt on Turkey’s official statement and said the Turkish military knows the exact locations of US forces in Syria “down to the grid.”

They laid Waste To Our Land & Full White Mansions Album

White Mansions is a 1978 album by various artists documenting life in the Confederacy during the Civil War. The songs on the album were written by Paul Kennerley and are performed by Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, John Dillon and Steve Cash. Each singer took on a separate and distinct persona, portraying different characters in an attempt to show the Confederacy and the concept of "Southern pride" through said characters' eyes; in essence, therefore, White Mansions is a concept album. Eric Clapton played the guitar on several tracks. The album charted at No. 38 on the Country Billboard and No. 181 on the Billboard Albums. The album was re-released in 1999 in a two-for-one package with The Legend of Jesse James, a 1980 concept album conceived by Kennerley.

Ukraine Smoke and Mirrors

There’s no substance behind the accusation Democrats claim is impeachable.

Democrats and the media for three years used a fog of facts and speculation to lull America into forgetting there was never a shred of evidence of Trump-Russia collusion. They flooded the zone with another flurry of scattershot claims in their campaign against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Republicans might bear these tactics in mind as they confront the left’s new impeachment push.

In the two weeks since the White House released the transcript of President Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the debate has descended into the weeds of process and people. This is unsurprising given House Democrats’ decision to keep hidden the central doings of their impeachment inquiry, and the media’s need to fill a void.

Trump impeachment efforts will haunt the next Democrat in the White House

Not long ago, the U.S. entered the never-ending presidential election campaign, in which the next campaign begins the morning after Election Day. Americans have been groaning about the non-stop election cycle ever since.

Well, it appears we’ve entered the never-ending presidential impeachment campaign, as well.

Due Process: Legal Antidote to Tyranny

 Lady Justice - Due Process

The hallmark of any tyrannical government is a legal system that does not include specific rights of and well-defined mechanisms for Due Process. By its very nature, the principle of Due Process is the legal antidote to tyranny, as it constrains government from abolishing the Natural Law Rights and restricting the freedom of its citizens.

The framers of our Constitution were well-aware of that fact. King George enjoyed total sovereign authority over all individuals residing on lands he owned, which included the thirteen colonies. The American colonists had no legal means to dispute the abuses of power imposed on them by the King.

A monarchy, as a totalitarian regime, does not provide individual subjects the right to peacefully protest and seek redress of grievances.

TV networks to air commercial depicting menstruating men and boys

Via Cousin John

Several TV networks have agreed to air an underwear commercial portraying a surreal world where men and boys menstruate.

Titled “MENstruation,” the ad for “Period-Proof Underwear” opens with an anguished young teenage boy sheepishly telling his dad, “I think I got my period.”

Dad later hugs him and tells him, “It’s just part of growing up.”
