Early on Tuesday morning, a Dover, N.H. man named Mark LaVoie walked into a hospital and shot his wife and then himself, killing them both.
Although authorities have remained tight-lipped about the incident, as there is an ongoing investigation, friends and family members confirmed the identity of the man and his wife, Katherine.
It appears that Mark killed his wife Katherine “out of love” in the private hospital room she was registered in, based on a heartbreaking, but incredibly calm and rational final post to Facebook that he made before committing the murder/suicide, according to The Blaze.
(NOTE: It appears that Mark LaVoie’s Facebook page has been taken down, but his entire post was preserved and published by the Boston Globe.)

So..the system that the left touts as being the One And Only Way To Go, fails a family again, leaving someone feeling that the only way to resolution is death.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to die as soon as possible, then yes, Communism and all it entails, is the One And Only Way To Go. :)
DeleteAn honorable man. If indeed she was on life support due to a failed suicide attempt his acts on honoring her wishes and then joining her while tragic are not evil. I cannot contemplate a life without my wife and I can understand how he would feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't do that, I don't believe, but he seems to have thought through it clearly and I can't fault him.
DeleteDan, your words bring to mind an old turn of phrase about suicide:
DeleteThe permanent solution to a temporary problem.
You might not like to consider living on without your wife. I do not like to consider that, either, as I love my wife very much.
But the upshot here is that millions of men have lived to see their wives die, and moved on from it after a period of dispondent mourning. Indeed, my uncle, who insisted that his life was over when my aunt died, is now happily married for 9 years to a woman who, he's told me, could never replace my aunt, but has brought him so much joy.
He wouldn't trade the last 9 years for anything, but he was ready to kill himself ater my aunt died.
Suicide is not a good thing. It's usually impulsive, and people that survive attempts almost inevitably don't try again and are glad they survived.
I agree, but there are special circumstances.

"Did you ever get the letter telling you of the tragic end of Anneliese and her family? No one of you mentioned it. She was in Dresden with her mother and sister when the Russians came in. Her husband died in the war several years ago. She and her two dear little boys, her mother and sister committed suicide out of fear of future happenings. How she must have suffered to be induced to such."
Why is she on life support-respirator?
ReplyDeleteGood question and I missed it. Thanks.
DeleteShe tried to kill herself. Husband found her after her failed attempt, called 911, and they "saved" her, by hooking her up to life support.
DeleteHe decided to finish what she started, and himself, as well.
Thanks for the rest of the story.
