$PLC finds at least 1,500 symbols of the Confederacy in public spaces

The report – Whose Heritage? Public Symbols of the Confederacy – catalogs 1,503 examples of monuments and statues; flags; city, county and school names; lakes, dams and other public works; state holidays; and other symbols that honor the Confederacy.

The vast majority are in the 11 states that formed the Confederacy, but some are also found as far away as California and Massachusetts.

“Public governmental displays of Confederate monuments and other symbols undermine the promise of equality that’s the basis of our democracy,” said SPLC President Richard Cohen. “The argument that these tributes represent Southern ‘heritage’ ignores the heritage of African Americans whose ancestors were enslaved by the millions and later subjected to decades of oppression.”

    Mississippi. I don't know why these types as above, keep
    getting their way. I know they are obnoxious, communists,
    over-bearing, demeaning but they need to be put in their
    place. Like it or not the Confederacy in part of these united States and if this offends thee, then leave the
    Southern states. Stand up for what is right. Slavery is a
    non-issue. Now, Mississippi is under attack. An Obama
    judge put in place for just this kind of ant-American incite-
    ment. Strategic attacks.

    if everything confederate was removed they would find something else to raise hell about you can remove monuments flags and everything else nut history will still be there make a deal get rid of all memorials that blacks love martin luther jing jr and we get rid of confederate stuff see how fast they change their minds if we cant have memorials monuments and flags then blacks should not have any either fair is fair
