State Senate passes compromise bill removing 'Maryland my Maryland' as official state song

Via Rick

The Maryland Senate has struck a compromise in efforts to resolve a simmering controversy over the future of the official state song "Maryland my Maryland."

The Senate voted 30-13 Friday to no longer designate "Maryland my Maryland as the state song but listing it, instead, as the 'historic song."

  2. This was a great state song ! In fact one of the best (I like Carry me back to ol' Virginia too) but first they cut the line about the northern scum out, and then of course the liberal bags can't possibly leave the rest alone.
I feel bad for the Confederate Marylanders and their sons now it is a real shame on the Old Line State.

  3. I was born in Maryland. "Maryland My Maryland" will remain the state song in my mind. Political correctness and revisionist history and one of the greatest challenges facing this country. Soon we will have nothing but the present and an uncertain future.
