A History Lesson for Ted Cruz

Image result for bedford forrest

I am always annoyed when a conservative political leader attacks Southern heritage. I don’t know why because with the present-day crop of cowardly politicians, it is becoming routine, but I am.

Unwittingly or not, these modern day Scalawags adopt the “politically correct” line, even though they know (or should know) that political correctness is nothing more than a euphemism for cultural Marxism.

Recently, the courageous governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee, swam against the politically correct stream, obeyed state law, and issued a proclamation calling for a day of observance in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest as well as commemorating Confederate Decoration Day and Robert E. Lee Day. Governor Lee also stated that he would not be a party to “whitewashing history” by ripping down the bust of Forrest in the Tennessee State Capitol.

Yes, me too. And one of the big reasons is that today's "conservative political leaders" are typically Republicans and I noticed that Ted Cruz in criticizing Gov Bill Lee's Proclamation of Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest Day pointed out that Forrest was a delegate to the 1868 Democratic Party Convention. But as it is said, today's Democrats ain't your daddy's and grandaddy's Democrats! It's a political "identity politics" thing, something someone like Cruz otherwise and rightly criticize. C'mon, Ted, educate yourself. --Ron W

      Yes, the parties have reversed.

  2. Ted Cruz is just another member of the Washington D.C. Politician's Club. He'll sing to the current P.C. choir like the rest of our elected Federal officials. Sadly, Washington politicians aren't there to serve the "common" people. They're there to serve lobbyists and special interest groups.

  3. Leftists will pardon modern Democrats like formerly dedicated and then repentant Klansman, Robert Byrd, who became the "conscience of the Senate", admitted "mentor" to then Senator Hillary Clinton and eulogized by Barack Obama. I'm sure his name remains on many places in West Virginia, yet here in Tennessee, they want to remove a small bust of Forrest in the State Capitol and expunge his name from the ROTC building at my alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University. They still use the moniker "Blue Raiders", but have long since removed its connection to the Original Blue Raider who raided the Union Army blue coats with his innovative military tactics. --Ron W

    2. Yes, I suppose the little indoctrinated ignorant, bigoted, "useful idiots" are "triggered" when they pass the building engraved with "Forrest Hall". Hey! I probably shouldn't say "triggered". It might make'em think of--a gun!! --Ron W

  4. Ted Cruz is not a Heritage American. His roots are not deeply embedded in this country, and they were not watered with the blood of his forefathers.

He will never understand, nor revere our history. It is sad that he is the best Texas could come up with to send to the senate.
