As Mother would say, what does this have to do with the price of eggs in China?
The 114-year-old Dixie Beer logo on the brewery tower in New Orleans was painted over on Wednesday as the new Faubourg label is set to hit store shelves after the famous lager was rebranded in the wake of the George Floyd killing.
Faubourg Beer will be available for purchase in the coming weeks after the company that brewed it decided to rebrand its entire operation and drop the ‘Dixie’ name in response to the protests following the killing of George Floyd.

Nevermind that the origin of the term comes from when New Orleans was still French and traders would sail down the Mississippi to sell their goods and go back North with pockets full of "Dixies" which is what they called the French 10 Franc coins. Dix being French for ten.
ReplyDeletePrecisely.
DeleteI don't want to get bloked for spelling thank you !!!

DeleteHave enjoyed Dixie beer in the past. The best product they produced was Blackened Voodoo. I am sure this product will go through a name change as it reflects poorly on those that practice Voodoo.
ReplyDeleteDon't give them any ideas.:)
DeleteThis is vile bigotry and prejudice!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I think it's "the price of tea in China".
