Occupy Wall Street's Anti-Semitism Condemned

The Emergency Committee for Israel has launched a highly critical video condemning anti-Semitic sentiment during the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protests and calling for Democratic leaders to stop supporting the movement.

In the video, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is seen in an interview saying she supports the protesters, and President Barack Obama is shown expressing his understanding for the "frustration" of those camping out in a park in New York and in other staging locations across the nation.

The video ends with the statement: "Hate is not an American value."

US Involved in Covert Mideast War Games

The United States is reportedly launching major military maneuvers in the Middle East amid speculation that the Pentagon is preparing a response to Iran’s alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Washington.

The U.S. on Monday deployed 41 C-5 transport planes to prepare for a war game in the region that will test America’s ability to provide a rapid strategic airlift in response to a crisis, according to a report from an Israeli intelligence site, DEBKAfile.

The planes were expected to land in Israel and an Arab state packed with fighting units with full equipment, the report stated.

Warships with the Stennis battle group, including the John C. Stennis aircraft carrier, are in position to provide ground troops with combat support.

Imagine no Religion?

The Occupy Wall Street (OWS) crowd that President Obama is supporting without reservation is a diverse and scary group of malcontents. We’ve learned that Nazi and Communist groups have embraced the movement, but for different reasons. “The Nazis equate capitalism, which the demonstrators are opposed to, to their hallucinations of a Jewish conspiracy. This may be reflected in some of the anti-Semitic rhetoric. . . . The communists see the current demonstrations as a beginning of an American Bolshevik Revolution and the establishment of a Soviet-style government in the United States.” The enemy of my enemy is my friend until the smoke clears and there are just Nazis and Communists. Then you’ll see a real war.

Without an incentive to make a profit, there is no capital. There are no iPods, iPads, cell phones, smart phones, social networks, electric cars, or tax money to redistribute. What will they replace the current system with? You can’t beat something with nothing. What’s the something? We’re never told.

Atheists are like the OWStreeters. What will replace our present moral system? Why is something going to right or wrong in a worldview without a transcendent law giver, without God? Right now, atheists borrow from the Christian worldview to construct a moral base for their atheistic world because there’s no such thing as ethics based on atheism. German philosopher Jürgen Habermas, who is an atheist, has acknowledged as much:

Universalistic egalitarianism, from which sprang the ideals of freedom and a collective life in solidarity, the autonomous conduct of life and emancipation, the individual morality of conscience, human rights and democracy, is the direct legacy of the Judaic ethic of justice and the Christian ethic of love. This legacy, substantially unchanged, has been the object of continual critical appropriation and reinterpretation. To this day, there is no alternative to it. And in light of the current challenges of a postnational constellation, we continue to draw on the substance of this heritage. Everything else is just idle postmodern talk.” (Jürgen Habermas, Time of Transitions (Polity Press, 2006), 150–151.))

Former theist and now self-avowed atheist Dan Barker, who is co-president of the Freedom of Religion Foundation, is promoting a “Beware of Dogma” campaign using billboards that also include the line “Imagine No Religion.” The line is taken from John Lennon’s atheist national anthem Imagine.

Of course, we don’t have to imagine what our world would be like without religion. Vladimir Lenin (1870–1924) gives us a window into such a world:

Occupy That!

VERBATIM POST
========
In the USA the “Occupy” movement (or, in European terms, the “Indignados”) is a Potemkin operation: a small number of radical leftists and useful idiots funded and choreographed by trans-national socialists, with at least the tacit support of the Obama administration.

In the video below Ezra Levant talks about the Canadian version of the Occupiers — what Vlad calls a “faux-test” — and the blatant taxpayer-supported propagandizing of it by the CBC.

Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this video:

Herman Cain Defends The 999 Plan

Presidential candidate Herman Cain penned a feisty response to criticisms of his 999 Plan over the weekend. As luck would have it, there are exactly nine criticisms of this plan. What are the odds?

Cain makes a very cogent point right off the bat:

Do you know why candidates for office tend to be reluctant to propose detailed plans? Because they know the plans will be flyspecked and picked apart by just about everyone. Inviting criticism doesn’t help you to get votes.

But fear of criticism prevents you from conceiving solutions to problems. So even if avoidance of criticism helps in propelling you to an election victory, how are you supposed to effectively govern? How are you supposed to fix the problems you told everyone you were going to fix?

There’s a world of difference between describing a problem and proposing a solution. Cain returns to this theme when he addresses “Claim 9: It won’t pass.”

US forces 'massing on Afghanistan-Pakistan border'

Via Rebellion

US forces are massing on the Pakistan border in eastern Afghanistan amid reports of an imminent drone missile offensive against fighters from the feared Haqqani Network, a Taliban faction which operates from safe havens in Pakistan's North Waziristan Agency, Pakistan Army sources have confirmed.

The scale of the American build-up, including helicopter gunships, heavy artillery and hundreds of American and Afghan troops, caused panic in north Waziristan where tribal militias who feared they could be targeted gathered in the capital Miranshah to coordinate their response.

Local officials in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) warned that Pakistan's armed forces would repel any incursion across the border by American forces, but military sources in Islamabad and Afghan officials suggested the build-up was part of a coordinated operation.

A.D. 2041 – End of White America?

John Hope Franklin, the famed black historian at Duke University, once told the incoming freshmen, "The new America in the 21st century will be primarily non-white, a place George Washington would not recognize."

In his June 1998 commencement address at Portland State, President Clinton affirmed it: "In a little more than 50 years, there will be no majority race in the United States." The graduates cheered.

The Census Bureau has now fixed at 2041 the year when whites become a minority in a country where the Founding Fathers had restricted citizenship to "free white persons" of "good moral character."

With publication today of Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025? this writer takes up what this portends. And while many on the left are enthusiastic about relegating the America of Eisenhower and JFK to a reactionary past, I concur with the late Clare Boothe Luce.

In this world, she said, there are optimists and pessimists.

"The pessimists are better informed."

What are the seemingly inevitable consequences of an America where whites are a shrinking minority?
