Congress delaying U.S. aid to Syrian rebels - sources

                                                             Permanently will do just fine.

Congressional committees are holding up a plan to send U.S. weapons to rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad because of fears that such deliveries will not be decisive and the arms might end up in the hands of Islamist militants, five U.S. national security sources said.

Both the Senate and House of Representatives intelligence committees have expressed reservations behind closed doors at the effort by President Barack Obama's administration to support the insurgents by sending them military hardware.

None of the military aid that the United States announced weeks ago has arrived in Syria, according to an official from an Arab country and Syrian opposition sources.

Obama Suspends the Law

Via WiscoDave

Like King James II, the president decides not to enforce laws he doesn't like. That's an abuse of power.

President Obama's decision last week to suspend the employer mandate of the Affordable Care Act may be welcome relief to businesses affected by this provision, but it raises grave concerns about his understanding of the role of the executive in our system of government.

Article II, Section 3, of the Constitution states that the president "shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." This is a duty, not a discretionary power. While the president does have substantial discretion about how to enforce a law, he has no discretion about whether to do so.

This matter—the limits of executive power—has deep historical roots. During the period of royal absolutism, English monarchs asserted a right to dispense with parliamentary statutes they disliked.

King James II's use of the prerogative was a key grievance that lead to the Glorious Revolution of 1688. The very first provision of the English Bill of Rights of 1689—the most important precursor to the U.S. Constitution—declared that "the pretended power of suspending of laws, or the execution of laws, by regal authority, without consent of parliament, is illegal."

To make sure that American presidents could not resurrect a similar prerogative, the Framers of the Constitution made the faithful enforcement of the law a constitutional duty.

Broward County Sheriff's Office Prepares Zimmerman Verdict Riot Plan

There's going to be blood on your hands, hatemonger.

On Monday, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a video calling on the public not to riot in the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict, expected this week or next in Florida. The Sheriff’s Office released a statement explaining that it was “working closely with the Sanford Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies” to coordinate “a response plan in anticipation of the verdict.”

The video, titled “Raise Your Voice, Not Your Hands,” focuses on attempting to channel reaction into non-violent response. It depicts two youngsters, one black teenage boy, one Hispanic teenage girl.
“Raise your voice!” says the girl. “And not your hands!” says the boy. “We need to stand together as one, no cuffs, no guns,” says the girl. “Let’s give violence a rest, because we can easily end up arrested,” says the boy. “I know your patience will be tested,” says the girl, and then both conclude, “but law enforcement has your back!”

'The White House Doesn't See a Path' to Passing Immigration; Paul Ryan's 'Gone Silent'

Good and keep your mouth shut.

NBC's Chuck Todd said this morning that "the White House doesn't see a path" to passing an immigration bill by the end of this year:

"The White House, they had been so confident they were going to sign immigration reform this year, for the first time I'm hearing that there is some doubt seeping in, that they think maybe the House won't act. What they need is, they need something to sort of force Boehner like at the last minute bring it to the floor the same way the fiscal cliff deal happened. The problem is there is no trigger at the end of the year, there isn't the end of this Congress there isn't this. So I don't know how this happens at the end of this year and suddenly now the White House doesn't see a path," said Todd.

San Francisco officials: Possible plane victim run over by emergency response vehicle

Parents of Wang Linjia, center, are comforted by parents of some other students who were on the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 that crashed at San Francisco International Airport. Their daughter was killed in the crash.

One of two teenage girls killed in an Asiana jet crash at San Francisco International Airport might have been struck by an emergency vehicle responding to Saturday's crash that also injured more than 180 people, fire officials said Monday.

Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White and Assistant Deputy Chief Dale Carnes both raised the possibility at a news conference with first responders.

"There was a possibility one of two fatalities might have been contacted by one of our apparatus at one point during the incident," Carnes said.

San Mateo County Coroner Robert Foucrault earlier said his office was conducting an autopsy to determine whether one of the victims survived the crash but was run over and killed by a responding vehicle. He said his staff was notified of the possibility by senior San Francisco Fire Department officials at the crash site on Saturday.

Remarkably, 305 of 307 passengers and crew survived the crash and more than a third didn't even require hospitalization. Only a small number were critically injured.

Immigration plan devised by Communist Party

amnesty

The U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” immigration-reform plan, as well as a strikingly similar plan now being backed by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and a bi-partisan House “Gang,” both offer the “roadmap to citizenship” originally conceived and carefully developed by members of the Communist Party USA working within the Democratic Party and the radical left activist network for the purpose of using amnestied illegals to build a “permanent progressive majority.”

That is the inescapable conclusion readers will draw after reading the forthcoming book by acclaimed researcher and blogger Trevor Loudon, titled “The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress.” Although not yet published, Loudon agreed to allow WND readers to preview one chapter, titled “Latino Immigrants: Tools to Ensure a ‘Governing Coalition’ for the Left.”

July the 6th, 2013.  Independence Weekend.  Deep in the enemy stronghold former known as the Republic of California, a group of Patriots gather.  Their mission: to learn how to stay in the fight, or die trying.

Our training class consisted of some of the finest quality Patriots you will find.  In attendance there were III Arms Founders, III Congress delegates, Militia, III... Patriots.  Most I knew well, but we did have a few new faces in the mix, all of which are great additions to our local Tribe.  For the most part, this group had not met face to face before, and new bonds were forged.  That itself is worth much.

We could not have asked for a better training day, cool and sunny, in the shade of a large tree towering over the grass, overlooking the lake.  Several showed early and were able to get acquainted before Sam and Holly arrived.

Many of you have yet to meet Sam and Holly.  I must say, they were a pleasure.  If you get the chance, take it.  Looking someone in the eye and shaking their hand is priceless.  Although I had spoken with Sam over many occasions, I wasn't quite sure what to expect in person.  Turns out he's just a normal guy, like you or I.  Miss Holly was a delight to finally meet as well.  She is the nicest lady that ever told me she'd stick me if I got out of line :)

The class began with the basics, so everyone was on the same page.
