The Office of Sheriff

You know my position: No matter how bad it gets, politics can't be ignored, neglected or dismissed.

Our Founders understood the importance of politics.  It was a political act to write and sign our Declaration, an act taken by politicians, and enforced by the III Percent in the field.

The same formula will work this time.

After the first Revolution the Federalists became terrified that Patriots might come hunting for them and kill them, for they were already violating the spirit of the Constitution.  They watched the French Revolution and were afraid - with good reason - that the same could happen here.

This time the revolutionaries are those seeking to crush the Constitution, once and for all.  Constitutionalists today are counter-revolutionaries, seeking to protect and defend the Original Intent of the Constitution and those fellow Americans who seek to respect it in name and deed.

I contend our original III made a mistake when they did not evict every last Loyalist from the continent.  Our original III were too tolerant.  The troops of Lincoln made the same strategic blunder (thankfully) by leaving so many Southerners alive and in their homes, with festering hatred that still exists many generations later.

This time I suspect the disgust for the parasites among us is so high that Americans who choose to enter the Ruckus in defense of Natural Law, Rightful Liberty and our Founding Principles and documents will not stop when the parasites and their forces throw up their hands in defeat.

Graphic painting of Zimmerman shooting Martin unveiled at Florida capitol

Really pisses me off.  She fled the Communists in '75 and comes here to be one.  I can't wish enough evil upon her.

A graphic painting depicting George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin was unveiled at the Florida Capitol rotunda Friday.

The Miami-based artist, Huong, joined protesters, referred to as the Dream Defenders,  on their 25th day of camping out at the capital as they urge Florida Gov. Rick Scott to change the Stand Your Ground law.

The ‘Police State’ Of Delaware Is No Longer Theory: To Serve Their Own Interests and Protect Their Own Arses

Via Knuckledraggin' My Life Away

Michael Rogers and Delaware State Police Officer Mathew Morgan had a meeting on August 1st that did not bode well for Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers a 53 year-old man was at his home at 22507 Deep Branch Rd. just five miles east of Georgetown Delaware on a quiet country road in Sussex county, when a knock came at the door that would change his life.

Mathew Morgan, a young Delaware State Police veteran of three years came to the house that Rogers was sharing with his elderly mother, to investigate an alleged hit-and-run incident on a parked car in Millsboro Delaware. The events that occurred during that home investigation defy explanation. Apparently the officer questioned Mr. Rogers about a hit and run incident on the parked car, and Mr. Roger denied the allegations and asked the officer to leave his residence.

Mr. Rogers was reported to be intoxicated at the time of Officer Morgan’s arrival at the residence, but being intoxicated within your own residence is not a violation of any crime. Although Mr. Rogers judgement was probably impaired, he was perfectly within his rights to ask the officer to leave the residence.

In an altercation between the officer and Rogers, a scuffle ensued with officer Morgan attempting to use a taser on Rogers. When that didn’t work the officer discharged nine rounds from his weapon, five of them striking Rogers, two of the the rounds striking him in the groin area.

If It Crawls, It's Canned: Eating In The Alaskan Wilderness

Via The Lonely Libertarian
Jenny Wise, of South Thorne Bay, preps cuts of Coho salmon and Pacific halibut for canning.

Nobody throws away a mason jar on Prince of Wales Island. On this rugged mass of mountain, forest, river and sea in southeast Alaska, most of the several thousand year-round residents subsist at least partially off the generous fat of the land. And much of the bounty is pressure cooked, preserved and stored away for the future.

"If it stops crawling long enough, we'll put it in a jar," says Jon Rowan, a schoolteacher in the town of Klawock, on the island's west side.

Rowan hunts, harvests and cans nearly every sort of creature that lives in the diverse, rain-drenched ecosystem of the region. His cellar is crammed with hundreds of jars of salmon, halibut, rockfish, lingcod, deer and even seal, which Rowan can legally shoot because he — like many of the island's several thousand people — has Native American roots.

Seal blubber, Rowan says, is cooked for hours before going into the jar. It may be used for cooking or simply melted over rice — "kind of like how you use soy sauce at a Chinese restaurant," Rowan says. The meat of local seals is also canned.

"It tastes like really rich duck," Rowan says.

Rand Paul Likes Drones........

........Beer-Delivering Drones, That Is

Rand Paul is the Senate's foremost drone critic, but it seems he's finally found a kind of drone he can live with.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., reacted to a France 24 story – also highlighted on the Drudge Report – of a drone that delivers beer to thirsty customers.
The flying booze robot drops a customer beer on a parachute after clients place an order using a smartphone app.
“Perhaps I am not against ALL drones!” Paul noted on Twitter, linking to the article.
Here's more detail from France 24:

Oklahoma Congressman admits Obama ID is a Fraud, but says “I don’t give a s**t”

Freshman Congressman Markwayne Mullin took an oath to defend the constitution. We don’t defend the constitution only when it’s convenient or when it will not embarrass us. We defend it all the time. Congressman Mullin (OK-2nd District) may be regretting his decision to schedule Town Hall meetings all over the State of Oklahoma for August 8th and 9th because it was at one of these small gatherings that he ran into the self-proclaimed “birther princess.”

The birther princess asked a simple question, “What do you know about Obama’s identification fraud?” Mullin immediately went on the defensive and his stance is that, “We lost that argument November 6th.” When the “birther princess” tried to present a copy of Mike Zullo’s 71-page affidavit, Mullin lost his cool momentarily as said “I don’t even give a shit.”

Surveillance scandal rips through hacker community

The Edward Snowden look-a-like contest at this year's Defcon shows that the hackers still have a sense of humor about current events, but few among them think that the pre-surveillance scandal status quo will hold fast. (Credit: Seth Rosenblatt/CNET)

The good ol' days of chummy games of "Spot the Fed" at Defcon are finished as hackers and security entrepreneurs plan next steps in the wake of government spying revelations.

- It used to be that the playful Defcon contest of "Spot the Fed" gave hackers and the government agents tracking them a chance interact in a less serious manner.

Hackers who found a government agent among the conference attendees would wear with pride T-shirts that read, "I spotted the Fed." The agent would be given a shirt that read, "I am the Fed." And by flipping the cat-and-mouse dynamic for at least one weekend a year, the two groups more or less came to a greater understanding of each other.

The relationship had gotten friendly enough so that when Gen. Keith Alexander, the director of the National Security Agency, visited Defcon for the first time last year, the conference's founder Jeff Moss told CNET, "It's eye-opening to see the world from their view," and noted that he had wanted to score an official visit from the NSA since Defcon began.

It would go too far to say that the uneasy marriage of friendship between the two groups now lies torn asunder in an acrimonious divorce. Hackers, information security professionals, and security experts looking to turn their knowledge into businesses won't stop working or communicating with the U.S. government. But the response to the scandal has driven many of them back to their more skeptical roots.
"What we need to realize is that [Gen. Alexander] is asking us to destroy ourselves," said Moxie Marlinspike, a well-known information security professional and entrepreneur who has had equipment seized and returned and been detained but never charged by the U.S. government.

The Knights of the Golden Circle KGC Convention address Raleigh, NC. May 1860

Note.--The following pages are addressed to the citizens of the Southern States by order of the Convention of K. G. C. held at Raleigh, N. C., May 7--11th, 1860.

The President of the Legion begs to ask his fellow-citizens of the South not to regard the literary imperfections of the address, as it has been prepared at intervals while canvassing the State of Virginia in furtherance of the objects of the K. G. C.; and, therefore, under great disadvantages.

If, however, it shall tend in any measure to disseminate sentiments congenial to Southern interests, the real ends hereof will be attained, and the K. G. C. will be happy to know they have done even a little good in arousing the South to a sense of her political dangers. The day for bold and fearless speech and action has come, and the Southern citizen who fears openly to avow his sentiments in the present crisis, is unworthy of being called a son of the South.

Fellow Citizens of the Southern States:

The object of the following pages is to fairly and honestly canvass the claims of the K. G. C. organization to your respectful consideration and unprejudiced sympathy. The Knights of the Golden Circle constitute a powerful military organization, as a nucleus around which to hang such political considerations as will, if well managed, lead to the disenthrallment of the cotton States from the oppressive majority of the manufacturing and commercial interests of the North. It would also go to Mexico in the character of a Defensive Colony, and become a centre, drawing to itself every good citizen who desires relief from the anarchy and civil wars which have so devastated that country since 1824. It would give protection to life and property, and rigidly enforce those great principles of sobriety and industry which have been so distinguishing a feature in the rise and progress of Anglo-Americanism on this continent. But the K. G. C. mean to obey the laws of the United States as well as those of Mexico, and to avoid a single act which would bring a blush of shame to our cheeks.

As Americans, we would Americanize Mexico for the common glory of our American character, and because the interests of the nation, no matter how viewed, demand such an accomplishment by our people. As Southern men, we would Americanize the country, because therein rests the only hope of keeping the cotton States of this Union on a footing of political equality with other States. As philanthropists, we would settle and Americanize Mexico, because the happiness of the people will be enhanced; and as Knights of the Golden Circle we would colonize and Americanize the country, because we thereby open new avenues by which to benefit ourselves, financially, socially and religiously.

Sticks That Made Thunder

Thought of you brother

Was cutting grass and listening to bluegrass and heard this song. I
had never heard it before. It is amazing. Made me think of those that
keep Dixie alive. Thanks for being who you are.

The Steeldrivers - Sticks That Made Thunder Lyrics

My roots are deeper than the bones the others
my colors they change with the sun
my branches we’re higher than anything on the hillside
on the day that I watched them all come

Some wear the color of the sky in the winter
some we’re as blue as the night
they came like a storm with the light of the morn
and they fell thru the whole day and night

Colors flew high and they danced in the sky
as I watched them come over the hill
then to my wonder sticks that made thunder
such a great number lay still

When the light came again there was death on the wind
as the buzzards made way for the worms
and the little white trees that don’t bend in the breeze
for the ones that will never return

The colors flew high and they danced in the sky
as I watched them come over the hill
then to my wonder sticks that made thunder
such a great number lay still

Those that have fallen they come when I call them
and answer the best that they can
but all they can see is what they used to be
and that’s all that they understand

The colors flew high and they danced in the sky
as I watched them come over the hill
then to my wonder sticks that made thunder
such a great number lay still

Colors flew high and they danced in the sky
as I watched them come over the hill
then to my wonder sticks that made thunder
such a great number lay still
