“All Jews are Secessionists, Copperheads and Rebels”

http://lsupress.org/assets/images/book-covers/2134.jpg

Those of the Hebrew faith in the North did not enjoy the friendly inclusiveness of the antebellum South.  An Associated Press writer visiting Northern-occupied New Orleans wrote this chilling statement: “The Jews in New Orleans and all the South ought to be exterminated.  They run the blockade, and are always to be found at the bottom of every new villainy.”

“All Jews are Secessionists, Copperheads and Rebels”

“An indication of the anti-Jewish tendency of the age was the common practice of Northern newspapers to identify as a “Jew,” “Israelite,” or, worse yet, a “German Jew,” any Jew who was apprehended in or suspected of carrying on disloyal activities. Jews who enlisted in the Army, or whose names were reported in casualty columns were never identified as such; but a wrong-doer was promptly catalogued for the public mind . . . [whether in Iowa, New York or Vermont].

This journalistic technique was at one and the same time the product of prejudice and an agency for its dissemination.  It fixed ever more strongly in the mind of the reader the myth of the dishonest, law-breaking Jew.  As one [Northern] reporter put it, “How could you expect a Jew quartermaster to be honest?”

In the political sphere, the fact that Judah P. Benjamin, high statesman of the Confederacy, was a Jew, provided a convenient slur with which all Jews could be defamed. Crude and insulting references to his religious origins were commonplace at the very beginning of the war and during election campaigns.  The catalogue of public figures who attacked him as a Jew would include, among others, Senator Andrew Johnson, of Tennessee, General Benjamin F. Butler; Senator Henry Wilson of Massachusetts; Governor John Brough and Senator Ben Wade of Ohio.

It could only be prejudice and bigotry which would prompt an editor to single out prominent Southern Jews for special treatment.  The same conclusion must be reached in a consideration of those Republican journals and papers which accused all Northern Jews of being enemies of the Union.  Articles by the “Lounger” in Harper’s Weekly said that all Jews were secessionists, copperheads and rebels.

In California, the American Flag [newspaper] of San Francisco announced that “a large majority of the wealthier Jews of California, and particularly of San Francisco, are copperheads . . . adherents of the last, lingering, horrid despotism of the Dark Ages, which were dismal with the wail of their forefathers.”  The Jews, apparently, whether there were many or few who preferred the Democratic party’s policies, were not to be permitted the choice accorded to other citizens.

[Banker] August Belmont was a particular target for the Republican press and party spokesmen, even though (or perhaps because) he had married into one of America’s most distinguished non-Jewish families, was rearing his children as Christians, and maintained no affiliation with Jewish activities or religious life.  In Philadelphia, a [Republican] Union League speaker made it a point to refer to “the Jew banker of New York;” an orator at the Cooper Institute of New York made some insulting comments about Belmont and his “knot” of German Jewish bankers . . . “

When the automobile was in its infancy nearly every city and large town in America boasted at least one enterprise engaged in the manufacture of cars. Most of these companies and their vehicles are lost to history. The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum is pleased to present a survivor from this era that has traveled half way around the world to return to its home.

On temporary exhibition is a 1922 Dixie Flyer Firefly Speedster, which was manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky, exported to Australia, saved from the junkyard, restored and finally purchased by Kentucky Trailer, the company that originally built the car! The Speedster will be on display at the museum until the spring of 2011.

The Obama effect: NRA’s ‘American Rifleman’ surges to top 25 magazines in America

New gun owners want to defend Second Amendment

President Obama’s second-term effort to get Americans to hate guns has backfired. Not only did firearm sales in 2013 blow out all records, interest in learning more about Second Amendment issues has risen dramatically.

This is evidenced by the news that circulation for the magazine “American Rifleman” has broken into the top 25 magazines in the country, according to the Alliance for Audited Media.

The magazine, which is published by the National Rifle Association (NRA), surged 29 percent to 2.2 million readers in the second half of 2013 over the same period the previous year.

At the same time, circulation for all magazines was down 2 percent during that time frame.  (The NRA publication took the place of the racy men’s magazine “Maxim” which fell from 2.5 million to 2 million subscribers.)

The left’s Valentine to defiant Jihad-enabler Lynne Stewart

The left's Valentine to defiant Jihad-enabler Lynne Stewart

What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Bleeding-heart progressives across the country are raising money for “an evening of music, song and sharing love for recently released People’s Lawyer Lynne Stewart.” Warm fuzzies for one of the world’s most notorious terrorist helpers? I can’t think of a more stomach-turning way to mark the holiday.

Thanks to the Obama administration, Stewart walked out of prison on New Year’s Eve. She is reportedly suffering stage-four breast cancer. Now she’s passing the plate among her supporters, asking them to foot the bill for her health insurance deductibles and co-pays, as well as for a “special diet, vitamins and other healing methods.” What, no Obamacare?

Replace dollar with super currency

The World Bank's former chief economist wants to replace the US dollar with a single global super-currency, saying it will create a more stable global financial system.

"The dominance of the greenback is the root cause of global financial and economic crises," Justin Yifu Lin told Bruegel, a Brussels-based policy-research think tank. "The solution to this is to replace the national currency with a global currency."

Lin, now a professor at Peking University and a leading adviser to the Chinese government, said expanding the basket of major reserve currencies — the dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen and pound sterling — will not address the consequences of a financial crisis. Internationalizing the Chinese currency is not the answer, either, he said.

"The Ship that Would Not Die:" USS Laffey Gun Mount 53 Video

Via Adam

Here the new video exhibit now in GUN MOUNT 53. This is also accompanied by lights blinking off and on and the floor has vibrators hooked up. When the gun fires or planes crash onboard or alongside, the floor vibrates. It is quite loud and very well done. Lee Hunt, who was in the handling room below the mount during the Kamikaze Battle, April 16, 1945, said that it was a SUPER VIDEO and WAS AS CLOSEST TO REAL AS YOU CAN GET !

Full Episode

The USS Laffey was in reality two great vessels with the same name--the first, DD-459, fought to the death in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in November 1942. The second, DD-724, was at the center of World War II's most intensely brutal kamikaze attack, where it earned the nickname "The Ship that Would Not Die." The crew casualties, however, were high: Over 30 perished and another 70 were wounded.

Widespread riots now in my country. My thoughts on riots.

http://www.battleswarmblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/London-Burning.jpg

Like I said before, situation can change from good to bad quickly. Especially when people are tired of whats going on. In my country 40% of people have no jobs, widespread corruption, prices are expensive for almost everything. There are now riots in several cities in my region here, spreading all over the country.

I have been in riots before, and also been in riots that lead into the full scale war we had, so there are few things that I want to explain you about riots:
