"Another day, another drop of alarming data for the American economy."

The Producer Price Index (PPI), which measures costs paid by wholesalers, surged a record 11.2 percent last month from what it was a year ago. This year-over-year increase significantly outpaced the already bleak forecasts. The sharp rise is yet another piece of data suggesting that inflation will be with us for some time.

The so-called core wholesale prices, which the Fed views as a reliable predictor of inflation, also rose far more than expected.

The media and Biden administration narrative is to blame the war in Ukraine (i.e., Vladimir Putin) for the latest round of scary data. But this is simply spin. Though the inflation rate popped to 8.5 percent earlier this week, it was already at 7.9 percent when Putin invaded. That is up from 1.7 percent in February of 2021.

One additional news item that will not help the Biden economy is that the Big Joey administration extended federal mask mandates on planes. Even though we learned early on in the pandemic that planes are relatively safe places to be due to their state-of-the-art ventilation systems, we will continue to don the face diaper for at least another two weeks. The Bummer Virus endures and will continue to hinder the economy. Not so coincidentally, Delta reported a $940 million loss in the first quarter.

On the Flagpole

Good Morning!

We hoisted this on February 10th after reading of your trials and tribulations over on North Carolina Renegade. Normally we would fly the timeline flags representing the history of transition of the Confederacy and the flags used to represent it. This year we are sticking with the only true state flag of North Carolina. We will be visiting the Mound at Oakwood cemetery on April 24 to pay our respects to those buried in that hallowed ground and will have our annual display up on May 28th to observe Memorial day.

The New Game: A Lawless Game

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/r9CoIik3QSQ/maxresdefault.jpg

The game is pretty far along. Everything that’s been warned would happen over several years, as far back as 2008, is starting to happen in the open. All of it was probably planned for the Hillary Clinton presidency and the only delay was Donald Trump. That’s why they were so desperate to prevent his election and worked so hard to get rid of him when they failed. It’s also why they couldn’t wait another four years to implement the plan.

Gingrich Goes Public, (Again) Sides with Trump, Says 2020 Election Was Rigged

The 2020 presidential election was unique for many reasons, and one of them was the unprecedented amount of private money that went to funding it.

“Rigged” is a shocking new film that exposes how Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg helped President Joe Biden win in 2020, and it is out now. Get it here for just $4.99.

One of the closest battleground states in 2020 was Georgia. It was no coincidence that Democratic areas of this hotly contended state received huge grants from Zuckerberg.

Emancipation After the War

Part 5 in Clyde Wilson’s series “African-American Slavery in Historical Perspective.” Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.

Early in Reconstruction the staunch Unionist William Sharkey was appointed governor of Mississippi by Andrew Johnson.  Sharkey said that he believed that half the African American population of the state had perished in the war.  This may not be too much of an exaggeration for Mississippi where more than half the population was black and neighbouring Lousiana  with almost as large a percentage.  Both states had been subjected to repeated destructive invasions that had disrupted life catastrophically. Certainly the death toll for slaves was high, as it was for white women and children.

The central evidence of the aftermath of the war and Reconstruction is the neglected fact of  the decline of well-being in the freed population for the half century after emancipation.  The social statics of 1900  indicate a decline of 10 years in the life-expectancy of the African American population.  This tragedy can only be explained by a decline in health care and nutrition, breakup of families, deterioration of work skills, and an increase in unemployment and vice.    However, we can readily expect our upwardly mobile young historians, if they notice it at all,  to discover for us that all the death and suffering were due to Southern violence and repression.

Convention of States – Collectivist Trojan Horse

 Trojan Horse

As our nation continues to depart from its founding principles, conservatives are desperately searching for strategies to re-establish the checks and balances designed to prevent government tyranny.  As specific problems are identified, solutions are proposed.  If professional politicians are the problem, term limits will get rid of them.  If government spending is the problem, a balanced budget is the answer.  If government overreach is the problem, defund and close government agencies.  If moral decay is the issue, legislate against it.

The Convention of States (COS) agenda promises to resolve all these problems.  Their plan is to invoke Article V of the Constitution in which thirty-four states can petition Congress to call a “convention of states” to propose constitutional amendments.  They contend that each state delegation is restricted to proposing only amendments specified in the state’s petition.  Common suggested amendments are Congressional Term Limits and a Balanced Budget Amendment.  COS proponents claim that the states will control all aspects of the convention and any amendments proposed would still have to be ratified by ¾ of the states to become part of the Constitution.  They claim the process is legal, constitutional, and a perfectly foolproof and safe way to reestablish constitutional rule.

I vehemently disagree. The Article V Convention of States is a Trojan Horse.
